    Madame Tracy

MADAME TRACY In Bottle: Rose On Skin: Yep, the rose amps full force on me in this blend, rose tends to do that on me. Of course it’s one of my least favorite notes. This scent is very sour and sharp and causes my eyes to water. I don’t smell any of the other notes at all… I was hoping the violet would sweeten the scent but the tea rose really does drown it on me. I’m going to have to wash it off, because rose is just not me, sorry! Very strong throw and not sure of wearlength.

    Pollution

POLLUTION In Bottle: Green and planty cologne On Skin: The davana is the dominant note here, very herbal and plantlike. Bursting with a green tone. Alive and vibrant, this scent wakes me up right away. I wish pollution smelled this clean and nice! It is very sharp and a bit soapy. The amber helps soften it and gives the green tone a bit more cloudiness… creating a nice visual for “pollution”. The musk is velvety and very pretty. The scent overall feels very masculine to me. It is more commercial smelling than most of Beths blends… I could see this scent being pretty popular amongst the general population. The throw is about average and the wearlength is medium to long on me.

    Haloes

HALOES In Bottle: Vanilla and woods On Skin: This is so light and pretty! Like a very faint and innocent Monster Bait Underpants or a close cousin to Antique Lace. Very white in feel and so clean and soft. The sandalwood is right out of Underpants and the vanilla is the same as Antique Lace… creamy melted ice cream. The ginger offers just the slightest spice to keep this scent from being plain, and the amber gives it a nice powdery feel. The apricot is very, very subtle, just a sweet golden background and not really fruity and the lily offers a very faint floral that makes the scent a tad more on the feminine side. I really like this scent but am sad it is so light, it starts to fade super quick on me. The scent fits it’s title well, a golden glowing innocence. I would love to have a bottle of this for sure. If you are a fan of Underpants or Antique Lace, put this on your must have list. Light throw and short wearlength.

    Ligur

LIGUR In Bottle: Dark, wet dirt On Skin: This scent has to be one of the darkest scents I have ever smelled. It feels black, very black. The olibanum is the culprit… resinous and very deep. The moss and khus are very earthy and dirt like. The opoponax is a perfect resinous compliment and begins to sweeten the scent with it’s trademark sticky quality. I also get a bit of a BBQ sauce feel from this, I kid you not. Smoky and sweet… a little off putting. Lol! It’s not my kind of scent, but very interesting without a doubt. Very strong throw and extremely long wearlength.

    Famine

FAMINE In Bottle: Tea and lilac On Skin: The tea note is dominant on me at first, but then the lilac comes out in a very elegant stride. It reminds me of His Station and Four Aces. Very masculine and sexy… I was so upset I didn’t get a bottle of HSAFA so now I can order this and get something similar for my husband! Yay! The musk is clean and gives a slightly soapy quality to the scent. The tobacco leaf is also clean but has a deep element to it as well. The frankincense is beautiful and lends a resinous smoky background note. I really like this scent and hope to order a bottle. It is light in throw and has a short wearlength.

    Lucifer

LUCIFER In Bottle: Dark smoky resin On Skin: Wow, this is dark! It fits it’s name very well, forboding and evil… very nice. The amber is the dominant note on me, sweet and powdery. After a few minutes the patchouli comes out and reminds me of the patchouli in Schwarzer Mond, a sweeter, sticky blend. The vetiver actually stays in check (yay!) and offers a slightly feral background note that plays well with the nice deep outdoorsy woods. The fig is also sweet and dark, a gorgeous decadent fruit that is strong enough to play with the “big boy” notes. The scent is so thick in feel almost like a syrup, with a dark red, almost black tone. It reminds me of Schwarzer Mond but not as sweet. I really like it and feel it is a bit more masculine in tone. I do like this scent, but maybe as a spray to thin it out a bit. Very strong throw and long wearlength.

    Peacocks

PEACOCKS In Bottle: Floral and fruity On Skin: I smell the bamboo pulp right away. I also smell something lemon like. I don’t smell the plum sadly, one of my favorite notes… but the pear does start to come through about 5 minutes into wearing it. The violet is a soft purple, complimented by the jasmine. This scent is actually very subtle… I expected it to be a bit more… *loud* I guess, just because peacocks are very flamboyant. But it is very pretty. Overall an Asian scent in feel, with light blues and greens in tone. Sweet, fun and playful while still being a gorgeous scent. Light throw and short to medium wearlength on me.

    Rozpustnica

ROZPUSTNICA In Bottle: Lemon musk On Skin: Lemon verbena jumps out of course since it always is an extreme amper on me. To me this scents smells like lemon soap… or more actually like that lemon cuticle crème Burt’s Bees has. Very sharp, very sour and very bright. The florals are blended well, but I can smell the rose amping with the verbena which deepens the sourness. The magnolia is creamy and helps thicken the scent. The lychee is sweet but get hidden in the overwhelming sour tone of the scent. The musks are clean and soft in texture, but the white outweighs the blue and gives the scent it’s soapy note. Overall a very clean and bright scent, just not something for me. Strong throw and very long wearlength.

    La Vague

LA VAGUE In Bottle: Peaches and cream On Skin: Bottle worthy from first sniff. YUM! This is so warm and pretty… oh my god. I am in absolute love with it. The florals are all very much mellow and kept in check and blend like a pretty bouquet next to a table of warm peaches with a dallop of cream. The white wine grape is also sweet, like a nice sauce over the peaches. It also kind of reminds me of Welches White grape and peach juice, one of my favorites. The peaches have a little tartness to them (maybe from the tangerine), they are not sickly sweet or over-ripe. Sadly it has a super light throw on me and a short wearlength. I will have to slather and layer for sure.

    Judith and Holofernes

JULIA AND HOLOFERNES In Bottle: Dry, sweet and woody On Skin: The patchouli jumps out right away on me… I’m a little sad since it does seem to amp on me so much and is not my friend. The sandalwood is very dry and woody, giving the scent a powdery feel. The honey is so pretty, and it helps sweeten the other notes, but still is in the background. The skin musk is very light, just a velvet blanket the other notes are resting on. The carnation is a light spicy note and the magnolia is surprisingly light as well, sweet and a just a floral tint. As the scent develops, the honey and skin musk become more pronounced. Absolutely gorgeous… It reminds me of Sed Non Satiata. Yes… completely! And although I hate Judith in the beginning, what she morphs into is drop dead gorgeous and totally bottle worthy. Luckily the morph is pretty quick. Her throw is pretty low though, and her wearlength is short to average. I’d love to make a spray with this and layer it.

    Parsifal

PARSIFAL In Bottle: Light white floral On Skin: This is a beautiful clean white floral. If you are a fan of scents that are very clearly defined “perfumes” you should love this one. It is perfumey, very white in tone. Totally floral and totally feminine. It has a gorgeous soft feel, nothing glaring or too bright. While it does have a clean ozone note, it isn’t soapy or sharp at all. The narcissus is so pretty, and the other notes are in perfect harmony with it. No contrasts or obviously different levels here, it is even and very well blended. If you like florals but nothing overwhelming, this is a great scent for you. Very spring like and alive. Medium throw and wearlength.

    Hastur

HASTUR In Bottle: Smokey resin On Skin: This one scared me from the description, but luckily it doesn’t hate me. Labdanum seems to love me so it helped save the scent on me, nice sticky sweet resin. It’s a very, very dark blend, one of the darkest around. Dark, smoky, dry… a cloud left from incense. Slightly more masculine. The tobacco is wet… in a way… I get a very slight aquatic note hiding in the background. It’s a nice scent, and I’d love to smell it on a man… it’s just not for me. It has a medium throw and long wearlength.

    Lady Una

In Bottle: Musky cat pee On Skin: Yargh!!! Blackberry and black currant have an odd tendency to go to cat pee on me. Here that is the case sadly. The honey and vanilla are sweet and yummy, but I can’t get past the blackberry. Very bitter and pungent on me. Why does it do this? Just to be mean? Damn, because without it this would be a gorgeous scent on me. Alas, I have to wash it off. So not sure of wearlength but throw is about medium.

    Fairy Wine

FAIRY WINE In Bottle: Honey! On Skin: Oh wow, there’s my honey!!! Full on!!! The red currants are next, a bit winey in tone and slightly tart, an interesting contrast. The dandelion is very soft, a grassy background note. I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this scent, it is gorgeous!!! Bottle worthy for sure. I wish it was a bit stronger… but I’ll just slather. It’s a slightly floral honey scent with a sprinkle of wine. A perfect sunny day! You must try this! Light to medium throw, average wearlength.

    Fruitcake

FRUITCAKE In Bottle: Fruity cakey yum! On Skin: First I smell cake and spices… sweet spices and very soft. The fruit is also there, purely candied and sweet. This does smell like fruitcake… very much so… sticky and foody. It is moist but not drenched in rum… just a little kicker, a boozy note in the back. I really love this scent, it is confort in it’s finest. While I’m not a fan of fruitcake, I sure do love how it smells! This is the perfect holiday room scent and I feel festive right away! Everyone in the office wants to know what I’m wearing, and when I see Fruitcake, they’re like… someone brought a fruitcake?!!?! Kind of funny. A very fun and holiday filled scent, thank you so much to the lab for sending me this lovely little imp. Strong throw and average to long wearlength.

    Rose Red

ROSE RED 07 In Bottle: Pungent rose On Skin: Rose hates me, it’s a fact. It always turns so sharp and sour on me… to the point I need to wash it off. Why??? It makes me so sad. Here, it’s the same old story, rose hating me. But I can tell you, it is a true plush red rose, freshly picked… there’s even a little dirt on it offering a nice earthy note to contrast the sharp perfumey bloom. It stays very true to all the variations of this scent Beth has made over the years. Sadly, it is not for me, but those of you who love rose, this will be your holy grail. Very strong throw and average wearlength on me.

    Midwinter's Eve

MIDWINTER'S EVE 07 In Bottle: Plum gum On Skin: Plum is one of those notes that just adopted me. I never ever thought I’d list it as a favorite note, but there are so many scents I LOVE that have plum in them, that I’ve come to accept it as a winner. Here, it is very sweet, almost like plum bubblegum. Which as I look back at the forum, is exactly how I described it the first time I tried it several years ago. So… it hasn’t changed much in this formulation. I also still see it as being a candle scent. Very warm, juicy and sweet… absolutely purple in feel. This and Snow White are probably my 2 favorite Yules this year. It has a medium throw and a fairly short wearlength.

    Jólasveinar

JOLASVEINAR 07 In Bottle: Dirt and cake On Skin: Odd combination right? The cake note is strongest on me at first, and then the mosses and dirt take over. I don’t really smell pine in this years version, like I did in last years. No, I’m wrong… here comes a bit of pine, not as strong as last years, but in there for sure. I think it’s the snow note… The florals are light and I wouldn’t really call this a floral blend. It is sweet and dark, and very outdoorsy… with a random splatter of cakey goodness. An outdoor foody blend… comforting in feel. Not one I’d wear as a perfume, but would like to use as a room scent. Fairly decent throw and long wearlength.

    Krampus

KRAMPUS 07 In Bottle: Bitter dusty leathery musk On Skin: This smells almost exactly like last year’s version. Pure dark musky leather. So sexy and naughty. The red musk takes on an almost “blood” note. Seriously, you know the smell of drying blood? I get that here a bit. Not in an awful gross way at all, if anything it just adds to the naughtiness of it all. The sweet musk and leather keep it good in my book. I really loved last years blend and this one just about lives up to it. I think last years was a tad more deep on me, whereas this one is a little dustier. Still, a gorgeous dark and slightly sinister scent. Strong throw and long wearlength.

    Angeronalia

ANGERONALIA In Bottle: Sweet floral On Skin: This is quite a pretty white scent. I smell the sweet gardenias right away, they go very creamy on me. I can smell my favorite honey, but it is very well blended with the other notes. Actually, all the other notes mix in so well, I really can’t place them all individually. This is a good thing in patchoulis case since it hardly ever works on me. I would call this a sweet floral, with a light tart fruity touch… but not a “fruity” scent really. The background is soft and sensual… a light blanket of snow that doesn’t feel cold… movie snow! Very pretty and a nice variety for a floral scent, also very gender neutral. Light to medium throw, average wearlength.

    Black Lace

BLACK LACE In Bottle: Vanilla floral On Skin: I don’t see florals listed as a note here, but this scent is very helivly floral on me. The vanilla is second in line, really sweetening the scent and making it smooth and creamy. The florals are sharp, making me think there must be some form of rose in here, but then they quickly fade and I am left with beautiful smokey and resinous vanilla love. The funeral description fits perfectly. I picture an antique black lace hanky… scented with this. The smokey incense is beautiful, maybe that’s where the florals were coming from, a floral incense. The musk is dark and exotic and the cognac is a nice rich boozey note that lies at the bottom of the scent. This scent is very perfumey and very feminine… and perfectly Victorian. I have a bunch of Victorian inspired clothing and this scent is begging to be worn with those outfits. The cotton and sweetness of the scent reminds me of Monsterbait Underpants. This is totally “Black Lace Underpants”. The scent finally mellows out to mostly vanilla and musk… a perfect scent for me. So happy I ordered 2 bottles. This is a huge favorite for me. Light to moderate throw. Average to long wearlength.

    Mistletoe

MISTLETOE 07 In Bottle: Pungent herbal pine On Skin: I get a very sharp piney herbal note from this, just like fresh cut mistletoe. It smells exactly like the last version of this scent. Very much “Christmas”. It brings to mind all the happiness and décor of the holidays. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my family had just brought home our tree and we were all full of excitement and pulling out the boxes of décor. The entire house smelled like the fir tree. This is another scent I’d love as a room scent, and not one I’d wear as a perfume. I am so impressed by the way Beth’s blends can evoke such great memories and feelings. Strong throw and long wearlength.

    The Peacock Queen

THE PEACOCK QUEEN 07 In Bottle: Rose On Skin: Pure severe rose. For some reason the 05 version of this scent worked on me somewhat. This years blend does not. It is extreme tart, sour rose and even makes me eyes tear up a bit. I keep thinking someone has brought in a bouquet of roses… not a bad thing at all, but not a scent I like on my skin. Anyone who loves rose must have this scent, it and Rose Red were made for you guys. I’ll stick with the sweet innocent Snow White. Strong throw and long wearlength.

    The Fruit of Paradise

THE FRUIT OF PARADISE In Bottle: Tart pomegranate On Skin: Ooo! A true pomegranate scent! Wow! So tart, bright, red and juicy. It is dark and has a perfumey edge to it. The fruit is ripe and dripping with it’s juices. I want to eat and drink it! Slightly powdery after dry down, but still gorgeous. This is a great oil to wear as well use as a room scent. It has that same sweet powdery candy feel Snow White has but amped and more tart. I love this and am sad the wearlength is pretty short. About 10 minutes into wearing it it has almost completely faded. I need to make a lotion and body spray of this to layer and enjoy all day. Light throw and short wearlength.

    Diwali

DIWALI In Bottle: Dirt and incense On Skin: Wow, what an interesting combination of notes. It covers so many bases! Foody, woody, spicy, incensey…. The fruits are nice, not like a tropical punch of fruit salad at all, just notes that blend and compliment the scent well. I wouldn’t call this a fruity scent at all. The coconut and almond milk give it a gorgeous creaminess. The other notes don’t stick out enough for me to say, “I smell the cashew.. or clove… or rasins…” As the scent develops, it’s foody qualities fade and it becomes much more about the woods and incense. I really like that there are no many notes, yet they meld and make a very significant blend that isn’t really dominated by any note. The closet blend that resembles it is Hungry Ghost Moon, but I do think HGM is more on the fruity side whereas Diwali is more on the incense side. It has a moderate throw and an average wearlength.
