Straight up coconut cupcakes, this is delightful!

    Pralines and Powdered Sugar

This smells bizarrely of Elmer's glue when it is wet. O_o Thankfully it burns off quickly and I am left with the most glorious powdered sugar scent! There is a lovely nuttiness from the pralines in the background.
  3. SadariEvenstar

    Venustas

This is reminding me of Daddy, but with more staying power. (I hope I never have to type that sentence again. O_o) It must be the fougere. I like it a lot!

    Avunculus

This smells like summer at the beach when I was a kid. Seriously one sniff and suddenly it's 1989. My mom's suntan lotion, orange pushpops, water, and hot sun. I love it!

    Southern Cloudywing

I can rarely wear perfumes that list a citrus note. However, I've noticed that the ones I can wear always specifically list zest or peel. This sadly, did not hold true for this blend. I am amping orange scented cleaner so badly that I feel like I fell in a mop bucket.

Wishlists: http://amzn.com/w/2IRNSZ9E8V6O8 Amazon, this wishlist is the result of years of window shopping. I've never linked it anywhere before. I have a little wishlist at Ten Thousand Villages, but it appears that you can't link it. You should be able to find it by searching my name. Though, the answer to "Will she like it?" on that site is "Yes." -edit- Actually, this might work.....https://www.tenthousandvillages.com/wishlist/index/index/wishlist_id/11988/ *I mentioned that I have a Nook in my questionaire, it is the old e ink style one, good for books only. Capax Infiniti

In the bottle this is soft and sweet and pretty. After about 10 minutes on my skin it turns to laundry soap. So much so, that I was actually checking my clothes, thinking that I had spilled some on my self when I was doing the laundry.
  8. SadariEvenstar

    Eve

This reminds me a lot of a more grown up Butterflies, Flowers, and Jewels Attending. It's very, very pretty.
  9. SadariEvenstar

    Luna Sanguinem

This is basically the one note red musk show on my skin. It's not the kind of red musk I like either.
  10. SadariEvenstar

    Jibiki Danuki

Casting a fishing net. Purple sage and oakmoss with black and white musks. This is easily my favorite of the Tanukis I have tried. That being said it is also the hardest for me to describe. The black musk is beautiful and very like the black musk in Playful Wooden Mallets. Overall the scent is gentle and very pretty. My husband loves it on me and he's usually fairly ambivalent about scents.
  11. SadariEvenstar

    Lady Cecily Sasquets, The Ingenue

I amp rose in most scents, so I was leary of this. I am so glad that I took the chance anyway. This is lovely. It opens up with a black of spicy, lemony black musk. (Think Playful Wooden Mallets or Black Temple Burlesque) The flowers are a whisper in the background, there is a hint of soapiness in one of them at this point and I am nervous. As the musk settles into my skin it becomes warm and cuddly. I don't really smell rose per say, but there is definitely flower dust clinging to this fur. Like rolling around in dried flowers. It's soft and definitely plays second fiddle to the wonderful fur/musk notes. The soapiness is completely gone. I'm not doing the best describing this, but I love it.
  12. SadariEvenstar

    'Pink' scents

Love, Mouse Circus, and Pink Moon 2012 are some of my favorites. I find Butterflies, Flowers, and Jewels Attending to be pink (I don't know if it's just a personal association.) and I love that one.
  13. SadariEvenstar

    Yule Cookie

Wet, this is all over the place. It smells good, but a little weird. Caraway and citrus and cake and flour.... Dry, Well, it smells like the cake component of Cake Smash, tinged with a hint of caraway which serves to make it more interesting. :wub2:
  14. SadariEvenstar

    Purple Snowballs

This was straight snow on my skin - no plum, no currant, no cardamom.
  15. SadariEvenstar

    Like Brooms of Steel

I think I'm in the minority, but I kind of liked this one. It's cold and dusty with just a little apple. The only reason this one didn't make the cut was because there were so many more that I had to have.
  16. SadariEvenstar

    Faunalia

Um, champagne and clove? This is not at all what I expected it to smell like, but I kind of love it anyway.
  17. SadariEvenstar

    El Dia de los Reyes

I put this on and ten seconds later, from across the room, my husband looked at me and said, "You're getting a bottle of this one." Coffee always goes horribly wrong on my skin, so this shouldn't work, but it's amaaaaazing.
  18. SadariEvenstar

    Death's Second Self

I get dry leaves and ash. It settles into mostly leaves and a bit of amber, the staying power isn't the best. Very similar to other leaf blends that I own.
  19. SadariEvenstar

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

Hmmm, I just got a new bottle of Crowley in for Mr. Evenstar for Christmas. It is MUCH heavier on the red musk than the old bottle. I don't really care for red musk and he wears bpal primarily for me. I'm very nervous. (No use testing it on me, both with go all red musk single note the moment they hit my skin.)
  20. SadariEvenstar

    Almond Blossom

I don't actually get any almond out of this. It is straight up snow/floral note, specifically the one used in Yellow and Blue Snowballs. Or Ondurdis without the pine and berries.
  21. SadariEvenstar

    Beaver Moon II 2013

This opens up with a snow note that smells very like the one in Ondurdis to me. It then softens and melds with the other notes and it's dry leaves and what my nose reads as a vanilla musk. It's almost like Ondurdis and Sonnet D'Automne had a love child. It's snugly and beautiful. I love it!
  22. SadariEvenstar

    Languor

This went so, so wrong on my skin. I get bug spray and manure. Given that Opium Poppy went barnyard on me, I'm guessing that I just can't wear poppy.
  23. SadariEvenstar

A World Where There Are Octobers

I didn't think I liked this when I tried it the first time. It seemed faint and kind of strange. I gave it a full day test anyway because I really wanted it to work. (Leaves! Anne!) I'm glad that I did, the scent really comes into itself when I wear more of it over a longer period of time. The leaves are warm and sweet and dry and a little bit musky. It's very like the leaf note in Sonnet D'Automne.
  24. SadariEvenstar

    Shiny Furball Hair Gloss

Vanilla Musk, clove, balsam, and a hint of coconut are what I get out of this. It reminds me a little bit of Organ Grinder. It's spicier though and the vanilla musk does something wonderful to the scent. I don't really get any cedar at all. Love it.
  25. SadariEvenstar

    Sylvia

I'm in love. LOVE. This starts out with a blast of pine, very spicy carnation, and clove. As it's drying it went through a short phase where the leather/pine went weird and it smelled like cleaner. It burned off quickly though and as it dried it turned into the most snuggly leather I have ever smelled. This is sweet and spicy and the leather is so soft. The pine blends in smelling like forest air clinging to fur. The Shiny Furball hairgloss compliments this perfectly.
