MolyH Report post Posted January 30, 2023 I'm surprised to see so many mentions of lavender, because I don't get any at all from this. This is 90% nag champa with a dark sweetness from labdanum thrown in on me. It's warm and brown and rich and incredibly sweet incense. It's delicious. It also makes my two-year-old stand in front of me and sniff the air with all his might, which is the first perfume he has ever reacted to this way, so just for that, I think I need to get a big bottle. It’s the kind of tobacco note that smells like weird musky herbal fenugreek on me lol. I can smell tobacco if I look for it, behind the way it twists on my skin. I thinkkkk I’d like this if it wasn’t going weirdly acrid on me as well, because it has a nice nonsweet dusky dark purple and black dark apothecary kind of scent to it. But the fenugreek tobacco ickyness and soft acrid waft on my skin is making it too close to a skanky musty body odor scent. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
SmellsPrettyGood2Me Report post Posted Tuesday at 05:54 PM (edited) Absolutely gorgeous, bright smoked lavender in the imp that leans more smoke and less herbal as it is applied and dried down on skin. I also get the fenugreek / maple-y undertones others mentioned around an hour in once the lavender has settled, and I am completely smitten with it. The nag champa and tobacco ride together for a good 3 more hours in a lovely sweetness before fading away. I do wish it lasted a bit longer, but have no issue with reapplying. As someone who battles some significant and occasionally debilitating anxiety, I feel like this scent is a talisman of sorts. I often keep lavender EO handy for comfort in difficult moments, and Gaueko is like an elevated level of self-care to wear. I was not expecting it to have such a profound effect on my mood especially with just one small dab on each arm. Adding this to my top 10 favorite GC offerings, immediate FS + backup bottle to keep with me at all times.
