[Googles cloudberries]

Ohhhhh, cloudberries! Sure, sure. Not a salmonberry. Kinda close. Its colder climate cousin.

In the bottle, it's lemon zest and some ambery, frothy ambergris musk.

On the skin, uhhh... Fascinating.

[A few minutes later]

Okay, the only way I can think to describe this is... post-sex skin smell?

It's a little salty, a little sweet, even a little sour?

You've got the salty muskiness of the ambergris, the sweetness of the amber musk. It's like sweat on sweet skin. A little tangy from the lemon zest. I don't know what a cloudberry smells like, but there is a definite berry smell in there.

Really fascinating!

This one smells vaguely unisex leaning slightly cologne to me. It's nice, not sweet at all. I know cloudberries by the local name bakeapples and they're very tart orange berries. I don't smell them super strongly, I'm mostly getting the ambergris and musk.

Edit: Trying this again now that it's settled, and I'm getting more of the fruitiness from the cloudberries and lemon sticking around. It's a nice fresh scent, and very interesting. I keep coming back to this one! Super lovely to wear, and I find it kind of fresh and calming.

Sogblettur ended up being pretty funky on me during the first few hours of wear, and I attribute that to the amber musk. I think this must feature the fossilized amber note that my skin does not always do very well with. The funky amber, combined with the slightly salty, musky ambergris, just are creating a good combination on my skin. These notes are accompanied by the lemon zest, which adds a refreshing quality to the scent, but can't cover up the funk of the amber musk. I sadly did not get much cloudberry like in Gnome Fracas, which was the main reason I wanted to try this scent.

This was a skin chemistry fail on me, but I think it would be nice and refreshing for someone who can pull off this particular amber musk.

In the bottle, I get a vague fruit that I'm guessing are the cloud berries and also a bit of that lemon.

Wet on skin and warming up, the lemon intensifies (nice!) and some of that ambergris enters the equation. I also start to get a little of the amber musk in the mix. The cloudberries have vanished?

Dry down- the lemon mellows and sweetens, aided by the amber musk I think. The combination reminds me ever-so-slightly of the Lemon Meringue doll from the Strawberry Shortcake collection, circa 1982. Do NOT misunderstand- I'm not saying this smells like candy, or synthetic-chemical-y at *all*. There just the right level of sweet gentleness to the lemon at this stage that reminds me verrrrry slightly of my old friend L. Meringue. The ambergris and musk then step into the primary roles, though the lemon is still definitely present. The cloudberries, alas, have left the building.

Very delicate, low throw scent. Another unusual Luper for me with this year's crop, and I'm digging the unique vibes. It's welcome that after nearly two decades of obsessively following BPAL that they can still surprise me!
