BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

A scent of endurance, of refusal to yield, of journeys undertaken without certainty of return. Dry leaves torn loose from their branches, wind-scorched grasses, weathered bark, soil turned dark by heavy raindrops, and distant woodsmoke.

The wind-scorched grasses and woodsmoke took over on my skin, and I don't detect any soil or raindrops which I was looking forward to.  Sad, skin chemistry fail I guess.  This has the same "scorched" note I get from Bonfire Single Note (but I haven't tried them side-by-side).  I get maybe a little bit of dead leaves but not much.

In the bottle, this is very heavy on the smoke with a realistic soil note. There's a brightness brought on by the aquatic/rain note, and this stays pretty consistent on the skin. I feel like I can smell each of the notes while also being able to pinpoint almost none of them individually on my skin. The scent and painting match amazingly well, and I would compare the vibe of this perfume to standing outside right before a big storm hits when you can smell the rain coming.
