doomsday_disco Report post Posted July 14, 2025 Beams of citrus, apricot, raspberry musk, and neroli herald daybreak, illuminating ambergris and myrrh shadows. Felix Edouard Vallotton
wodnesse Report post Posted July 20, 2025 Took a chance on this one right away, wanting to expand my ambergris collection, I'm quite pleased with it. These are fresh from the mail impressions. out of the bottle - ambergris, neroli, and amber clouding over a citrus base; apricot and raspberry musk are not apparent wet. there's a lot more woodiness and bitterness at this stage that quickly evolves out once applied. wet on me - raspberry musk starts to come up on me right away, ambergris and neroli fall back and decrease their bitterness, the amber mellows out, citrus backs down too dry on me - i'm glad the myrrh is keeping to the shadows, it's listed last in the notes so I was counting on it being a background note and it does seem to want to stay there. this smells like being in the shade of a citrus orchard with warm woody notes and reserved fruity notes, lightly illuminated. apricot remains elusive on me, I mostly get the raspberry musk and the orange/citrus; the overall impression is very bright and peaceful, yet complex. forspecial_plate Report post Posted August 9, 2025 The neroli is STRONG at first but that's just for a short while, it's a bit sharp and raspy. After that it smooths out and becomes more like the orange sunset scent I was hoping for. I think with some aging the neroli might calm down even more, my bottle is brand new. Like the reviewer before me, I don't get a lot of myrrh, and that's good because I tend to amp it more often than not.
citharadraconis Report post Posted September 14, 2025 (edited) Exactly as I hoped, on me this is a more sophisticated sibling of the GC Akuma (blood orange, neroli, and raspberry). Akuma was one of the first scents I ever loved from BPAL, but I ended up swapping my bottle away--it was pretty much straight-up orange Tic-Tacs on me, and while orange Tic-Tacs are in fact my favorite and a personal comfort scent, I rarely want to go out in public smelling like them. Coucher de Soleil has Akuma's juicy citrus-candy notes, tempered and blurred by the musk, ambergris, and myrrh into a scent that remains cheerful and bright, but more complex and more wearable. I adore this. Edited September 16, 2025 by citharadraconis
roseus Report post Posted 4 hours ago All neroli, ambergris, and myrrh in the imp. Hazy incensey neroli. Slightly bitter. On the skin I get sweet lemon and apricot with a sweet muskiness. It doesn't strike me as distinctly raspberry at first, not super juicy or jammy like it tends to be on me. Myrrh and ambergris underneath for body with neroli floating overtop.
