slave1 Report post Posted June 24 So excited to review this one!! In bottle: Pomegranate with a dark resinous echo On Skin: It is gorgeous! The pomegranate is dominant in the bottle and at first application. The black cherry further deepens the very red stone fruit vibe making it drip with the perfect sweetness. The frankincense is not strong, more of a smoky resin that adds to the velvet side of things and helps ground it from becoming too sweet and cloying. The golden amber and saffron give the perfect warm sun notes and embrace you with a hug. The amber is slightly powdery but taper the sticky fruits in great balance. This scent is both comforting but also energizing in a waking daylight feel. I see myself wearing this a lot!!! Also, the fragrance lasts quite long... at least 4-5 hours. doomsday_disco Report post Posted July 21 This one starts off with the cherry being the most prominent note, backed by the resins, pomegranate, and saffron, but the cherry quickly retreats, making the scent mostly about the pomegranate and saffron-infused resins until the very end of the day, when the lovely black cherry note makes a reappearance, but by that point, the scent is so light that I have to press my nose up to my wrist to smell it, and it was already a scent that stayed close to the skin in the beginning. I don't get any smokiness from the frankincense, so if you're afraid of this being a smoky scent, don't let that singed descriptor deter you from trying this. I think this is really nice, but I wish it were stronger and that the cherry lasted longer. I'm going to pair this with Pa-Pow Hair Gloss and give it a full day slather to see if I get more throw and cherry that way.
auraysu Report post Posted July 23 (Testing from a feltie sample) Ok wow, I like this! I'm getting a feel for BPAL's pomegranate because I recognize it from the one in The Fruit of Paradise, but of course, portrayed differently so there isn't the same tantalizing sweet juicy tang that FoP has (FoP is pale, sweetened pom juice to me). It was mainly pom when I opened the feltie bag and when wet, but the pom steps back as it dries down and the resins help ground and round out the pom so the overall scent is soft, warm, and lightly powdery. The singed frankincense isn't smokey at all. This one is a pretty calm scent with a dim garnet glow that doesn't break the peace.
