BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

I went on a quest for a strawberry scent this year and I had finally settled upon a favorite and then this was announced. Well obviously I had to try it for posterity, and also for charity. Well Strawberry Quest™ has a new champion. This is like good strawberry soda and tart strawberry candy had a beautiful baby. The strawberry has that glassy aura that Beholder Optician manages to create, but cranked up several notches. The gritty note is in the back, a sort of gravelly anchor that keeps this from being entirely too much. It makes me happy and strangely reminds me of my grandma who always had those candies in her house. : )

I tried this because I couldn't resist the novelty! This is recognizably strawberry hard candy- there is that slightly artificial strawberry flavoring, slightly tart and sour with a good dose of hard candy grit. I agree with the above commentor that it does convey the hard candy aspect v well. As always, I admire the artistry- I think I prefer softer strawberries, but this is a good scent for those who like candy perfumes!

(still catching up on reviews, as I re-organize the stash!)

This is exactly what it says, and I don't know how else to describe it! It's like...those little strawberry-wrapped hard candies (the ones that have the wrappers that look like strawberries) - which I have a weird nostalgic love for, courtesy of great-great-grandparents and their candy dish - plus some literally indefinably *gritty* note, something sort of dark and scratchy, like asphalt, but that sounds less pleasant than it is! The strawberry is the loudest note, but it is a *hard* strawberry in all senses, like it's been in a West Side Story style street fight - not all *that* dark but still definitely a street scuffle!
