To me, Velvet Bandito is identical to Lush's Skinny Dip... which would be most excellent if I didn't find SD a tad old lady-ish for my tastes.

Still not sure if I like this one. Sometimes I smell it and I gag on a thick, oily smell; other times it smells like orange schnapps and I want to drink it. VERY bad on my skin and too unpredictable in a scent locket to be a keeper.

Oh this is not good. NOT. GOOD. I swear, on my first whiff I thought "unwashed girly bits dabbed with taxicab air freshener." And I can't bring myself to sniff it again to see if I was right.

This is a straight-up foody blend to me: Mostly caramel, with a small touch of bitter coffee in the background. Weird.

Ooh this is nice. Pinwheel really pops in the way the gin note in Blue Fire or Velvet Pink Kitty makes your nose tingle. It truly is like fizzy fruit punch, SO delicious on my skin in the heat. Throw and staying power are average for me.

I'd heard such wonderful things about Earth Rat, and I wanted it to smell like gummy worms or some other fruit candy. Instead, I got fruit that is not yet rotten but definitely past its prime, on top of fresh garden dirt. Dammit my nose is weird.

I've coveted this scent for so long, I was disappointed to find that to my nose, Pink Moon '07 is identical to Alice.

Atrocious Attic is one of my most favorite blends and most coveted LEs. I love everything about it: The sadness and Miss Havisham-esque lab description, the awesome artwork on the label, and the scent itself. Though the notes are overwhelmingly floral, this is not a "Hey, you're wearing flowers!" kind of scent. This is subtle yet heady, a little old lady-ish when too much is worn but very young and seductive at its core. The sandalwood base with the beautiful blend of flowers is so perfect, it actually smells just like a sad old bridal bouquet that has been stored away for years. Man, how does Beth do it?

I wanted this to smell a little more like really old books. As it is, I get a sort of hot, papery smell on top of lots of incense. As other reviewers have mentioned, a little goes a LONG way.

Oooooh. *shudders in delight* This is sweet, smoky lemonade on my skin. Not a Pledge-y lemon, but so real and super-tart it makes me pucker. And how does the lab get its opium smoke note to smell so real? The florals dance in the background and I don't get *any* vanilla, but oh baby, this works for me. Just lovely.

Got this as a frimp, and bluh. All I get is salt and rusty iron.

This reminds me a lot of the Villainess scent Decadence, a bit sweet, a bit foody, and a bit boozy all at once. The wine-y scent burns off my skin quickly, which is a good thing because it turns sort of metallic for a moment; and then a creamy, nutty scent is left. Nice, but not bottle-worthy.

Titania is one of my biggest BPAL heartbreaks. Each and every note in it is lovely on my skin (okay, except for snapdragon; I don't know what that smells like ), and yet this combination is just awful on my skin. Why does it smell resinous? Why does it smell like stinky church incense? Such a loss!

The tangy cranberry note in Lampades is very, very good; but on my skin it is drowned out by the spice and the smoke so that ultimately, I get something unpleasantly bitter and sharp. Shame.

I wish this were more red currant on my skin. I get mostly the "white cake," which is too simple and light a smell to do much for me.

This is lovely! On my skin it is an ever-changing scent that one moment smells of loud, bright red currant, the next of thick honey, and the next of blackberry brambles. Through it all there is something very delicately floral about it, though I don't know what that might be. My first thought upon sniffing myself was "elderberry wine." Don't know where that came from. Amber is very hit-or-miss on my skin, but combined with the other bold and sweet notes here, it works. Just lovely. EDIT after two full wears: This lasts about seven minutes on my skin. It's going up for swaps.

I really love this! I'm not really a Snake Oil fan, but this is tempered so beautifully by the fruits and the florals that it is barely recognizable as an SO base. And I love that this is such a chameleon: It is fresh and fruity for summer, but heady and sweet for winter. Very versatile!

I am fascinated by the different kinds of pepper that are out there! BPAL blends with "pink pepper" are fantabulous on my skin, but I'm finding that anything else is very hit or miss. Unfortunately, Tweedledee is a miss. This pepper, combined with the tea which I'm finding also doesn't really like me, is VERY bitter on my skin.

In the bottle this is mango plus something green. On my skin, the fig-and-patchouli undertones amp and become too dusky and dead-earthy for this to work on me.
-
I finally got to test this and it is such a fun summer scent! The citrus is very bold and bright but manages to avoid the Curse of Lemon Pledge I so often end up with! This was recommended when I asked for "lemonade-y scents" and I quite agree: It is very refreshing, and it lasts a surprisingly long time on me!

To me, this is Alice's baby sister: Soft but heady carnations with a pop of pink bubblegum (which I guess is the plum; it is very bright and fruity).

Oh Tiki Queen, how have I not reviewed thee? I love love LOVE the scent of monoi oil so I was willing to try this out despite the presence of the evil ylang ylang, usually a deal-breaking note for me because it really gives me a headache. And I am glad I took the leap because blend is SO amazing. A bit fruity and a bit floral at the same time, and DEAD sexy, like heady tropical heat. Yum! And no pain in my brain!

*rubs nose vigorously* I'm sorry, I can't even review this thoroughly: Sniffing from the imp literally made me gag. Eww.
-
Oh, man, this is boozy and delicious *without* the salty boiled peanuts smell I usually get from super-foody notes. Love!

Identical to the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume I wore in college.
