    The Magi

Hmm... while the notes sounded appealing in theory, the actual oil was a different event for me. This smells somewhat medicinal in the bottle, but once on I couldn't help but think of Lush's Karma in a softer form. It seemed to last forever, maybe I process frankincense or coriander with the same brain part that no longer likes patchouli. Oh well, it was worth a shot

    Blood Phoenix

My first impression out of the bottle was cherry cough drops. Not the strong kind like Halls, but more the candy type. My first thought was "Crap - back out the door with this one". Then I put it on..... Initially it didn't do much more for me than smell like cherry cough drops - but as it dried down the dragon's blood and red musk became more evident. These are two of my favorite scents so I was very pleased. The end result is a lovely combination of musky and resin with a tiny bit of floral (carnation?) mixed in. I am so glad I gave this one a fair chance. It is absolutely gorgeous on dry down!!

    Dragon's Milk

This is definitely my "scent du jour" as I find myself reaching for it time and time again The scent in the bottle is sweet and thick - the dragon's blood resin is slightly sharp but the vanilla keeps it in perfect check. Both wet and dry smell very similar on my skin and that is a very good thing. This is a wonderful scent to put on when wearing a sweater or housecoat so that the scent is still in the fabric when I reach for it again. Everything smells of vanilla and honey and a bit of something sexy from the dragon's blood resin. I can't see myself ever tiring of this one

    Parlement of Foules

In the bottle - lovely roses. Very feminine scent Wet on skin - The roses are abundant but the resins are more pronounced now. As it is drying I keep getting a whiff of something familiar. It takes a minute or two to hit me but it reminds me of Nivea lotion. I need to check to see if that has rose in it. I can't confirm the Nivea similarity because the ingredients just say "fragrance" Could be just a weird memory thing Dry on skin - The rose scent has diminished considerably with the resins being more dominant now - It's still a strong incense/floral scent as long as you smell close to the skin. I can't see myself wearing this for an entire day

    A Farewell to False Love

In the bottle this oil is very sharp, very heady - pure lavender jumps up and slaps you. Wet - Lavender stomps all over anything else that might be trying to come out. Its difficult to not run to wash this off but I resist so that I can see/smell the end result Dry - The lavender backs up a bit to let the violet come through. There is still something sharp here, maybe the balsam of Peru? I would have hoped it would have softened more. This scent is not for the weak of heart for sure. Not a keeper for me though.

    Khajuraho

Very, very woodsy and sandlewood incense at first. I find it hard to pick out any one note at first because its such an overwhelming scent in the bottle Once on it starts to settle in about 10-15 minutes. I can start to pick up honey, florals and spice. Dry - the scent remains quite sweet with a floral/spicy backdrop. Overall this one is a bit too "girly" for me - meh

    Earth Rat

In the bottle - My first impressions without looking at the notes, orange, maybe grapefruit definitely citrus and something floral? Ok, so a look at the notes - the first ones to hit me are either tangerine or King mandarin and possibly plum flower. I haven't tried Fire Pig so I can't say how this compares to me Wet on skin - the citrus calms down considerably and the melon comes through. This is so definitely a summertime scent to me Dry - that melon doesn't go anywhere. It might change a bit from melon in fruit form to melon in candy form but it stays put nonetheless. I thought during the wet stage that I would really like this one during the spring and summer months but its really just starting to get on my nerves. Guess melon isn't one of my faves

    Red Lantern

In the bottle - very buttery, my very first impression was "Gluttony?" Wet on skin - the powerful first burst of buttery scent fades quickly and now the caramel and tobacco are fairly equal and smell quite nice together - but I want this to evolve further Dry on skin - A gorgeous warm spice blend. I find it cozy and exotic at the same time. It has great staying power since I started this test last night and it still smells great. This is really lovely once all of the notes unfold.

    Death Adder

In the bottle - strong scent, I can see how people might describe it as medicinal. The vetiver is heavy but as I continue to inhale deeply this scent becomes very smooth and sultry. As I move the bottle away from my nose I swear I can pick up just the faintest bit of coconut Wet on skin - Strong and maybe a bit masculine. The original vetiver starts to let up after a couple of minutes to let some of the vanilla and spices through Dry on skin - Possibly my favorite scent so far. Dark and smoky and warm and wonderful. Love it!

    Hony Mone

In the bottle - the jasmine is so strong to me that it is making my eyes water! I wasn't even sure I wanted to test this any further Wet on skin - I can smell the honey but it's in the background with the florals still strong up front Dry on skin - the scent hasn't changed much on me, it just seems a bit less strong. It seems quite sweet and flowery and soapy at the same time. I totally agree with the comparisons to biggerCritter. That one went to a new home too. Oh well, I'm glad I at least tried it

    Imp

The peach is very predominant in this one but almost in a candy way. I'm having trouble detecting the musk. Maybe because I just want to take a bite. Fuzzy Peaches candy - that's it. Yummm

    Blue Moon 2007

Wow! My initial impression when wet was "Where to start?" There are so many scents blended together - so complex. Upon drying the first scent to make itself known was the cucumber. That's a good thing. I like the cucumber. Upon drying, the green tea became most predominant. In a sophisticated way. The scent softened and became a lovely floral with wisps of green tea and a definite feeling of "blue". I was skeptical of this one because of my hate-hate relationship with clary sage that seems to turn me green but this was a lovely blend. I would surely pick up more if given the opportunity.

    Monster Bait: biggerCritters

In the bottle and on first application the grapefruit is very sharp in this. It was almost boozy to me. For the first 15 minutes the scent was very disagreeable to me. I kept imagining an old cigar tucked away somewhere and forgotten about. How rude! Thankfully, someone found the cigar and tossed it out. The vanilla is able to peek out to play with the jasmine. Hopefully they arm wrestle, but they don't. They just stare at each other. This one kind of sticks in the back of my throat. Meh..

    Dana O'Shee

When I first put this on I felt like it bit my nose. For some reason all I could think of was coconut schnapps - if there is such a thing. I had read the reviews telling of a fragrance that smelled like Snowcake and dared to dream. Upon drying - there it was! Just like taking a big old bar of Snowcake and inhaling deeply through the wrapper. The scent is so lovely and almondy. This is definitely a keeper. I'll take a big bottle please

I can't find the floral anywhere in this one. Green, green and more green. It's a field that stretches as far as the eye can see. I keep waiting for some flowers to pop up but they don't. I think this is the way I smell after I come in from doing the yardwork. It's not distasteful, just not for me

    Red Moon 2007

The first thing I noticed when wet was the orange punching me in the nose. Wow. The fight didn't last too long because the orange quickly backed down and let the red musk take over. The scent warmed upon drying and turned from the screaming citrus into the blanket of warm musk and amber. The final result was a powdery scent that was somewhat faint but calm and warm in the background. Great when I want something understated but pleasant but I have to keep moving my wrist around to find it now even after two applications

    Peitho

Peitho went on like strong disinfectant. It was difficult to inhale deeply to get a good read on this one. The jasmine was super strong and when mixed with the clove became lethal on my skin. I left it on for a couple of hours hoping that it would mellow with my skin and let the vanilla come out but it was not to be....I want to like jasmine and do like it in small doses - this was a whopper dose though.

    Desire

Oh my Desire - you were my first, you are my favorite, I love you so At first sniff, this scent in the bottle is like Lemon Pledge. Who would have thought this complex little concoction would morph into something so wonderful The fruit blends come out first on me but when dry the musk, vanilla and bergamot have melded into the sweet warm comforting scent that reminds me of curling up in a blanket in front of the fire with someone you really want to be with. I hope to never be without this blend

    Victoria

Victoria started out strong for me. I was meh about the strong powdery floral as it first went on. As it started to mellow it became almost a masculine scent on me. Must be the musk. Finally the vanilla took over and the final scent on me was a warm musky vanilla spiked softly with tea rose. I really liked the result after the first hour. I will be reaching for this one again
