    Megaera

In the imp: Citrus! Wet: Still more citrus! Pretty. Dry: Citrus, plum, and amber. Probably a big-bottle purchase for me.

    All Night Long

In the imp: Woods and resins. Wet: Cinnamon, and I think something woody. Dry: It's sort of a soft, woody, cinnamon. And for once, the wood note doesn't seem to be going bad on me. Not bad at all. Note: This was a frimp, and I just figured out from looking at older reviews that this is one of the Voodoo Blends. Which means I'll have to test its effects out on the hubby later on. Since he just went to work, I can't do that now. Plus, we've only been married a year and he is usually in the mood and telling me I am pretty, etc. I guess I should save it for later in the marriage?

    Shub-Niggurath

In the imp: Cookies? Wet: Some sort of yummy baked goods, initially, but then this morphed into something lemony (but not like Lemon Pledge). Dry: Gingerbread and lemon. Quite possibly a bottle purchase in the near future.

    Tamamo-no-Mae

In the imp: Fruity, like oranges or something similar but more exotic. Wet: Juicy citrus! With something like ginger behind it, I think. And some sort of soft floral. Dry: Hmmm, mostly oranges and florals. Very pretty, but not a must-have. If I happened to run across one on eBay, I'd buy it, though.

    Purple Phoenix

I don't know that this is really going to be a fair review, as I only had a teensy little bit of this to try. But from my brief flirtation with this scent, it is LOVE. On me, it is grapes and lilacs and I *need* to find myself a bottle of this, STAT.

    Dia de los Muertos

In the bottle: Sweet florals. Wet: The same, at first. Then something that's either spicy or soapy, but I can't tell which yet. Dry: Hmm, spicy AND soapy? Maybe I will let this one age a bit and try it again. Edited to add: I guess I was a little too impatient. It dries down rather nicely. I will try this again after a week or so and try to remember to update this review.

    All Souls

In the bottle: Butter, and something else. Wet: Mostly incense, something like nag champa. The drydown for this one seems to be reallllly slow, but after it's mostly dried, it's a soft blend of champa and currants. Dry: Champa and currants, very smoothly blended. I think I like this.

    Hope

In the bottle: Almost screamingly sweet rose. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but wow, the sweet! Wet: It's what you would expect from the description, sugared rose. And so far, I am loving it. The sugar somehow manages to tone down the rose and keep it from being too overpowering. I know that sounds sort of odd to say that pure sugar is toning something down, but it is. I am really surprised how much I am liking this one! Dry: Creamy roses, with just a tiny soapy undertone. Not enough soapiness to be yucky, at least not to me. I really like this one. Edited to add: On me, Hope and her sister Faith seem to be pretty similar. Which isn't really a problem, since I love both. I'm really surprised how much I love both, actually, as I'm not a floral person in general and I often don't like rose.

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

In the bottle: Sugared florals. Wet: It's reminding me of another Lab blend, but I can't figure out which one. The strongest note at the moment is honeysuckle or maybe jasmine. After a couple of minutes, an incensey smell comes out as well. Dry: This dries down very honeysuckle-y on me. It's not really what I expected, but it's pretty enough. Edited to Add: I spoke too soon. The incense came back out and it really adds a lot to this blend.

    Faith

In the bottle: Some kind of candy I can't quite place. Wet: The candy smell briefly goes a bit cough-syruppy but then quickly goes to VIOLET VIOLET VIOLET. Even if I didn't know that this was the main note, I would recognize it. Dry: On the initial drydown, I started to get a burning-rubber note, but thankfully, it seems to have gone away now. Sugary, creamy violets. Yum! Edited to add: I finally wore this out of the house and for a full day yesterday, and the verdict is... this is PURE LOVE. It's a simple fragrance, but I love the sugary, creamy, violetty smell.

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

In the bottle: Men's aftershave (sorry!). Wet: Oh mannnn, if this doesn't go wonky on the drydown, I am sensing it will be a new favorite. Yummy musks with an undertone that I'm perceiving as "lemony" (which I'm assuming is the Earl Grey - one of my most favoritest teas EVAR). Dry: Hmmm, this is one of the ones that I can't get an accurate bead on by wrist-testing, because my wrist is drinking it. I think I'm going to love it because it smells like musky, tea-y yumminess, but I'm going to have to slather it on and wear it for a day to be sure. I'll try to remember to let you all know how it turns out!

    Red Lantern

This blend was totally disappointing on me. It smelled basically the same as Mr. Nancy does on me. I will definitely be swapping this one.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

I guess I never reviewed this one? I don't even know how to describe Mme. Moriarty, to be honest. It's become one of my new favorites, which is sort of surprising since it smells like it's got woody undertones to me when I sniff it wet. Woods almost NEVER work on me as they go to pencil shavings. On me, this is a lovely and complex spicy scent with a woody bite to it. I can smell the fruits and vanilla a bit, but everything is so well blended that I don't really pick out any one note. This is right up there with Spider for me... must order another bottle SOON!

    Pumpkin Queen

In the imp: Pumpkin and spice. Wet: Pumpkin bread! Yummy! The fruity notes definitely come out more as it's drying down. Dry: I'm getting mostly pumpkin, but it's yummy. It seems like it's sort of a Gluttony clone on me, but that's only from smelling it on my wrist. I will have to wear it all over to figure out what it really smells like. I'll updte to let you all know!

    Strangler Fig

Yet another lovely Lab frimp! In the imp: Spicy and woody. Uh oh. I'm scared of woods because they some times go stinky on me. Wet: Mmmm, almost like licorice. Fig with yummy green and earthy undertones. Dry: On me, this dries down very earthy with light fig and wood undertones. I am happy to find that some woods actually work on me. I love this!

    The Witch Queen

Okay, I thought that I had already reviewed this one, but apparently not. In fact, I don't think I had even tried it before yesterday when I slathered it all over myself on the way to work. I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't smell horrible on me. This was a very strong floral on me, with incensey undertones. It was almost too strong for my tastes, so maybe I'll need to slather a little less with this one from now on. It had the best staying power of pretty much any oil I've tried. It seemed to go a bit smokey on me after a few hours, which was actually nice. I didn't really smell the red musk or plum at all, unfortunately. Next time, less slathering.

    Lorelei

This was a Lab frimp (I've been getting a lot of these lately as I can't seem to stop buying new bottles, oops). In the imp: Something sharp and floral. Wet: At first, whatever note I smelled when I sniffed the imp is completely dominant. I don't know how to describe it, but it's a floral that's almost aquatic. This fades down quite a bit after the first 5 minutes. Now I am smelling a woody note that seems to be threatening to go pencil shavings on me. I don't know what it is, because sandalwood doesn't do this on me (and doesn't even really smell woody to me), but so far it's only threatening. Dry: This dries down very light and sweet. The pencil-shavings note has disappeared and it's now that aquatic floral with just a touch of sandalwood. I would not have expected to like this scent upon sniffing it in the imp, but I might even need a bottle of it at some point.

    Milk Moon 2007

In the imp: Light, creamy, and sweet. Wet: I swear I am smelling coconut! As it starts to dry down, though, my skin is amping the fig note. Dry: Mostly figs and cream. Very warm. Sweet but somehow not entirely foody. Yum yum!

    Shoggoth

An amorphous, radiant, incandescent scent. Ever changing, protoplasmic and primordial: white amber, green coconut meat, iris, palmarosa, Chinese peony, lime, water lily, snowdrop, muguet, lemongrass, osmanthus, wisteria, glassy musk, and hinoki. In the imp: Florals. Wet: Florals and lemon. I think today is an allergy day, and I'm not sure my nose is exactly working right. As this dries down a little bit, I realize that I am smelling lemongrass. Dry: Hmmm, this seems a little soapy on me, but it's still worth a full-on wear to decide for sure. I'm getting mostly light florals and coconut on the drydown.

    Sunrise With Sea-Monsters

In the imp: Very strong citrus. Wet: Oops, wait... what I thought was citrus is actually some sort of aquatic. At first, that's all I can smell, but then I begin to be able to pick out the pear as well. Finally, the freesia also makes an appearance. Dry: Aquatics and freesia with a hint of pear. This is a little overpowering for my tastes, but I'm going to try wearing it for a day sometime and then see what I think.

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree

In the imp: Commercial perfume. (Sorry!) Wet: A very soft floral, along with something that smells a little powdery. Dry: This actually becomes less powdery on the drydown. It's mostly lilacs on me, I think, but it's very soft and pretty.

    Death and Life Completed

I bought a set of Salon III imps from a lovely forumite about a month ago, but haven't gotten around to trying any of them yet because my backlog of imps is getting ridiculous! Today, I decided that the idea of "Death and Life Completed" really spoke to me. In the imp: It smells a lot like something my grandma used to wear. I don't mean that in a derogatory way, because she was a very cool woman and I wish I'd been grown-up enough to appreciate her as a person beyond just "grandma" before she was gone. So really, kind of fitting for this fragrance to remind me of her I guess. Wet: Florals (I don't understand florals enough to pick out which ones), a lemony undertone and maybe the sandalwood. I did smell the cedar for like half a second when I first applied it, but it seems to be gone for the moment. I don't think my skin and cedar get along, but I'm hoping that all the other notes in this blend will make it okay. Okay, definitely smelling the amber as this dries down a bit more. I think I love amber, so that's okay. Scentwise, this does still remind me of my grandma, but not in an "Ew, I smell like a grandma" sort of way. More in an "I hope she's somewhere watching me and smiling" sort of way. This is hands-down the strongest emotional response I've ever had to any BPAL so far. Dry: For me, the carnation really starts to come out by the end of the drydown period. Carnation is one of the floral notes I can usually pick out because it's so prominent in blends like Pink Moon (which I quite like). I'm still getting a good bit of sandalwood and amber, too. It's really a beautiful combination and for once the cedar doesn't seem to be wreaking havoc with my skin chemistry. I'm pretty sure I'll need a big bottle of this now.

    Gomorrah

In the imp: Hmmm. Wood, which doesn't even seem to be one of the notes in this. And something sharp and almost piney. Wet: Something still smells woody to me. But unlike a lot of wood notes, this doesn't seem to be going to pencil shavings on my skin. Dry: This is faint, but I definitely smell currants or figs. I thought this was totally going to be a "forget it" fragrance after the first 10 minutes, but it's at least worth a full wearing to see what it does somewhere other than my wrist. If it does anything interesting, I'll update this.

    Swank

In the imp: Oranges? Okay, I'm sure it's actually pomegranates, but to be honest, I haven't smelled a pomegranate since I was a small child. Wet: Now that I have it on, it's obviously not oranges. This is sort of embarrassing, but my nickname as a kid (at home) was "Pomegranate" so I am kind of hoping this one works out for me. So far, it smells awesome, like bright, sweet, very juicy fruit. Dry: This is one of the rare ones that hasn't morphed much at all on the drydown for me. It's very different from what I'd normally wear, but very pretty. Keeper!

    Oneiroi

In the imp: All lavender, all the time. While I didn't get how people were smelling strog lavender with Somnus, I totally get it with this one. Wet: Lavender, anchored by something else that makes it a little less... lavender-y. What I mean is that it clearly smells like lavender but there is something else that takes the sharp edge off. I rather liked the scent of this for the 5 minutes or so I was awake. I tried Somnus for two nights, and while it definitely made drifting off more enjoyable, I didn't feel that it put me to sleep. Oneroi, on the other hand, knocked me the F#@$ out. I wasn't even sleepy when I put it on, and I was out like a light in maybe 5 minutes. As a result, I cannot tell you what it smelled like dry (and I'm not sure when I'll be able to). I think this blend is supposed to invoke dreams, but for me it just made me sleep like a rock (no complaints here, because I have enough dreams already).
