    Schrodinger's Cat

Hi, the website totally ate my review and I'm not really keen on trying to re-create it. For now, I will say the following: 1. This seems to be mostly oakmoss and grapefruit on me. 2. It's that time of the month so I will need to try it again to see if it's different later. 3. I think I could love this. Sorry.

    A Murder of Crows

In the imp: Herbals, not sure which ones. Wet: It sort of reminds me of shampoo. I think that's the verbena, but I don't have a very sophisticated sniffer. Dry: This pretty much just smells like faint, weird lemons on me. I'm glad I got to try it, but it's not going to be a new favorite. Which is really okay since I'm sure it would be hard to get more than just this imp without ordering a second Plunder.

    Pumpkin IV (2007)

In the bottle: All I can really smell is the pumpkin when I sniff the bottle. Wet: Pumpkin, with something floral and vaguely soapy. As it dries down, it becomes less soapy and more "clean". The pumpkin in this one is lighter on me than in some of the other pumpkin blends--like someone else here already mentioned, it seems to be a less buttery pumpkin than the one we see in Jack, Pumpkin Queen, or Pumpkin V. At some points I can't smell the pumpkin at all, but it's peeking out every now and then. Dry: My skin seems to eat this blend. I'll have to slather it on and try it again. I think I like it, but time will tell.

    Pumpkin V (2007)

In the bottle: Pumpkin and... gingerbread? Wet: Pumpkin with something sharp, citrusy and tangy. After a few minutes, I am catching a spicy, sort of gingerbready smell that I am guessing is the red ginger. Dry: I can definitely see the similarities to Pumpkin Queen, but it's different enough to make it special. I think I love this one.

    Pumpkin II (2007)

In the bottle: Pumpkin with just a teensy whiff of champa and carnation. Wet: Pumpkin and carnation. And then pumpkin and champa. Dry: Only a hint of pumpkin, with carnation and champa. I really like this.

    Pumpkin III (2007)

In the bottle: Pumpkin and chocolate. Wet: Initially, chocolate is the strongest note on me, but my skin drinks chocolate and I doubt that will last. Dry: I have to agree with the previous reviewer who likened this to a hybrid of Jack and the July 2007 13. Yummy, but only if you're into foodies. Edited to add: Unfortunately, when I wore this the other day, it took on a weird, sort of mildewy scent. It was pretty horrifying because it also had a lot of throw. It's that time of month, so I will let it sit and try it again in a week or so, but if it happens again, it's off to the swaps with this one.

    Pumpkin I (2007)

In the bottle: I smell the pear and grapes more than anything, with only a hint of pumpkin. Wet: The pumpkin warms up and becomes more noticeable, but is tempered by the fruits. Dry: Sparkling, fruity pumpkin. Lovely. Edited to add: I wore this one to work yesterday, and first of all, one of my co-workers followed me into a meeting to see if I was the source of the yummy fruity smell she'd noticed and secondly, my husband was in love with how I smelled when I got home. This ended up having a reasonable amount of throw on me, and I really loved it. It was much more fruit than pumpkin, but soooo pretty.

    Yvaine

In the bottle: To me, this actually smelled like ozone when I sniffed the bottle. I didn't remember what notes were in this blend and could not place what the smell was. Even though I had been looking forward to trying Yvaine for a while, I was kind of scared by the first sniff. Wet: Still a little ozone-y, but mostly strong lavender, and no longer off-putting. And a sweet floral underneath. This is very pretty. Dry: On the drydown, this has an almost aquatic note. It's very pretty, and I think it's going to work well for me. ADDED June 25: This blend smelled so sharp to me in the bottle that I couldn't bring myself to try it when I first received it, which would be months ago now. I don't have any problem with lavender, but in the bottle, this smelled... acrid, I guess. I was scared of it and then I sort of got distracted and forgot to go back and try it later. My husband bought me some shelves the other day on which to store and display my BPAL, and I now have a better view of all of my bottles, which reminded me that I'd never gotten around to trying poor Yvaine. Yesterday, I was brave enough to apply this blend, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It has a sharp, almost gingery tang to it, but it's beautiful. It really didn't smell floral or lavender-y on me, but maybe "crystalline" is a good description. It is sort of ballsy and aggressive (in a feminine way, though) at first, but backs off a LOT within the first 30-60 minutes of wear. This scent was actually fairly calm on me after that point, and I did pick up both floral and "spicy" notes for the next few hours after that. I would agree with those who said that this scent is a very good interpretation of the character it represents. All bite at first, calm and soft and beautiful later, until it eventually fades away.

    Regan

In the imp: A strong, light, floral. Wet: This has a very fresh floral scent. I don't smell any vanilla initially, and after a few minutes of drydown, I still don't really recognize a vanilla note, but the scent has warmed up considerably overall, which might be due to the vanilla. Dry: A soft, slightly soapy floral. Pretty, but not sure if I need to purchase a bottle.

    Eris

Goddess of Strife and Discord, constant companion and sometime consort to Ares. She is a fickle, chaotic Goddess of Bedlam whose greatest passion is the sowing of dissention and turmoil. A suitably disjointed scent, bursting with gleeful mayhem: wet fruits and sharp mimosa with Martial spices and a deceptive flash of floral. In the imp: Really strong fruit, like watermelon, but the fake kind you get in candy. Wet: The fruity smell is strong - almost too strong, but it calms down after a minute or so. The scent also starts to smell a bit more floral. Okay, now it's really pretty, sort of like pears and some sort of not-too-strong floral. Dry: Pears and light florals. Yum! This might end up being a big-bottle purchase at a later time.

    Gingerbread Poppet

I had typed a whole review, but the Internet ate it. Anyway, this scent stayed true to its original in-the-bottle scent on me: warm, yummy, gingerbread. I hope I don't accidentally nibble my wrist. ;-)

    Lick It Again

In the bottle: Peppermint and cream. Wet: VERY strong peppermint, with a hint of something sweet underneath. It's funny, because at first the peppermint is so strong that it feels like it's searing my nostrils--but I can't stop sniffing it. Is there crack in this? Dry: This seems to dry down very quickly, to a sweet vanilla with pepperminty bits. Yum yum! I didn't expect to love this blend so much.

    Chimera

In the imp: Foody, yet somehow a little floral as well. Wet: When I first put this on, it smells a lot like Alice to me. Which is not a problem, because I love Alice. After a few minutes, it's clear to me that it has a cinnamon note that Alice does not. Dry: Cinnamony baked goods. Yum!
  14. n3m3sis42

    Depraved

In the imp: Yummy and spicy. Wet: I don't think this had a very nice initial reaction with my skin. For a nanosecond I smelled spices and fruit, and then it was all OMG BATHROOM CLEANER (sorry). This subsided pretty quickly, leaving... pencil shavings. Weird because patchouli usually works on me. I am letting it dry down fully to see what happens. Dry: Well, it's dried down, and I'm getting pencil shavings. Meh! Off to the swap pile!

    Hunter Moon 2007

In the bottle: I totally got cough medicine from this in the bottle. Wet: Mostly the wine note is what I smell at first (which I guess was the cough medicine smell for me). After a few minutes, I get the musk as well. I can see why people are thinking of Snake Oil from smelling this, although I am not a fan of Snake Oil and so far, I am a fan of Hunter Moon. Dry: This took forever to dry down, but when it finally did, I got something that was sort of like a mix of Mme Moriarty and Snake Oil. This could be kind of awesome.

    October

In the bottle: In the bottle, the smoke scent was so strong to my nose that I almost physically recoiled. When I first sniffed it, I was so put off that I stuck the bottle back in its box and didn't even think about trying it again for 2 weeks. Wet: A fresh scent that I guess is what some people are finding soapy (even though I don't find it that way as yet), with only hints of smoke and leaves. So far, I like this a lot more than I expected I would. I think it has a common note with Spider (the green, sharp note). Since Spider is my favorite BPAL so far, that is a good thing. Since I have already gone through half a bottle of Spider since July, it is less of a good thing because October is LE. Dry: On me, dry, this is like Spider walking in a forest in autumn. Um, there's really no way I could like something more. I will have to waer this all over and not just on my wrist to be sure, but I might just have to get another bottle of this.

    Libra 2007

In the bottle: Vaguely sweet, but I can't place it. Wet: Uh oh. Why does it smell like something's burning? This isn't what the description said it would smell like! Have I finally found a blend that my skin chemistry totally destroys? As it dries down, it smells like rose and... hmmm, not sure. It has a weird undertone, though, but I am waiting it out. Now it's going through a weird soapy-rose stage, with something "off" underneath it. Dry: By some miracle, this actually dried down to smell pretty nice. Good thing I gave it a chance. It's a pretty, slightly fruity rose, which is somehow also a bit creamy.

    The Queen of Hearts

In the imp: Florals, with a hint of cherry. Wet: Same as it smelled in the imp, for about a minute, and then SOAP. Aw, man! Dry: Strong, soapy florals. I don't think this one is for me. Swap pile!
  19. n3m3sis42

    Dorian

In the imp: Aftershave and cookies. Wet: Yum, musk and vanilla and tea! I need this. Dry: This one doesn't have a huge amount of throw on me, but it's sweet and yummy and wow. And I think I am going to need to get my husband to try it on, too. WINNER!
  20. n3m3sis42

    Dragon's Bone

In the imp: Oddly enough, sweet florals. Wet: When I first apply this, it smells sweetly floral with only a hint of the incense. After a few minutes, the Dragon's Blood comes out in full force, though. A few minutes more, and it is blending nicely with the floral smell. After the disappointment of Dragon's Milk, which I so expected to like but instead got "meh" from, this blend is a pleasant surprise so far. Dry: This dries down less floral and more incensey, but it's still worth another wearing. Pretty!

    Anne Bonny

In the imp: Very woody and spicy. Wet: I am mainly smelling an intense wood note, which is not usually a good sign for me. This is sort of odd, since I know that both sandalwood and patchouli work on me and don't create this scent. Dry: Bleh, this one is clearly not for me. Nothing but sharp, sharp wood. Off to the swap pile!
  22. n3m3sis42

    Bengal

In the imp: Almond, and something sweet. Wet: Oh, wow. Too bad I just placed my lunacy order, because unless something goes horribly wrong on the drydown, I will be needing a bottle of this. I am mostly smelling the honey and cinnamon, but this is so yummy I almost can't stand it. Dry: This smells like yummy cinnamon roll dough on me. Will be needing a bottle, stat.
  23. n3m3sis42

    Succor

I pretty much got the same olive smell that a lot of other people did. And also a slightly woody undertone. I can't say that I really like or disliked the smell, but I do think it's having a calming effect on me.
  24. n3m3sis42

    Love-In-Idleness

In the imp: A very sweet, light floral, sort of like honeysuckle but with a little more depth to it. Wet: Still very reminiscent of honeysuckle to me. Dry: This doesn't change much at all from imp to drydown on me. It's a bit more sweet and floral than I would normally prefer, but I like it. I have put it aside to try again at some later time.

    Baron Samedi

In the imp: Almond and woods. If this works on me, I will be surprised, as woods typically do not. Wet: Cola and wood. Within about 3 minutes of first contact with my skin, nothing but wood, which is generally not a good sign for me. Wait, maybe this one will actually be okay, as it's now smelling more like burning leaves than wood. This one goes through a lot of evolutions as it dries down--now it's smelling more like clove, with that burning-leaves undertone. Dry: Hmmm, sort of an earthy cola. Interesting. I will wear it out and see how it goes.
