    Bloodlust

This smells like smoke and vinegar in the imp, but on my skin it sweetens up a touch. Smoky vetiver and sweet dragon's blood, with red musk and earthy patchouli. Dark and foreboding but a touch rough for my tastes.

    Urd

This pretty much just a slightly gritty patchouli on me!

    Arkham

In the imp: bright sparkling and herbal. Getting a hint of pine and maybe juniper? Wet: Smoothing out a bit, but still smells like a bright sunlit forest. Dry: Mossy and woodsy. Still bright, maybe a touch of citrus? Looking at the notes this makes sense but I wish I got more flowers. Moss tends to amp on me. A very pretty woods scent but not my thing!

The jasmine in this smells a lot like the one in Mare Vaporum (a favorite of mine). Wet it's very strong but as it dries it get shadowy? I don't know how else to describe it. It's extremely well blended and it's hard to pick out the notes, other than jasmine. It's woody, spicy, and sweet, and floral but everything is incredibly well balanced. But if I put my nose right up to my arm I can pick out smooth honey and some hay. A beautiful dark jasmine scent but not at all heavy.

    Solstice Lace

I too was afraid of the smoke in the description but luckily the reviews swayed me! Initially the apple wine read more like apple candy. But dry I get the sweet vanilla lace distinctly with a more subdued apple wine made deeper by sweet tobacco and amber, with a touch of smoke. A delicious early fall scent with great wear length and throw!

Any scents involving rose and mint

I am going to suggest Alisz as well! I got a nice balance of vanilla mint and rose but I think it seems very dependent on skin chem. If you don't amp mint too much I think it could be just what you're looking for!

    Jiaolong

This has to be one of my favorite coffee scents. The coffee is dark and roasty and strong! The musk and sugar compliment it nicely. Will need a bottle!

    The Torture Queen

I put this on and immediately loved it. The only notes I could remember were gardenia and chrome. This smelled light and glittering, vaguely floral but skin warm and musky as well. Looking at the notes now it all makes sense, ambergris is a beloved note and my skin loves it as well! For me this a heart of ambergris and white amber. The white tea and chrome gives a crisp, clean, glittering edge. The gardenia isn't very assertive but I think that the light headiness that wafts in and out is beautiful. I need a bottle but it could probably wait until spring rolls around again.

Autumn Scents - recommend the ones you love

Have you tried Spiced Autumn Cider from last year's Weenies? Smells just like apple cider and mulling spices to me! Confirmation that I looked at all the wrong Weenies last year. Hopefully there will be more cider in this year! Lambs-Wool sounds heavenly and I will have to keep my eye's peeled for it! Thank you for all the recs!

    The Illustrated Woman

At first I feared my chemistry might be doing something weird to patchouli, but this settled nicely. It a delicious golden resin blend. It's rich and warm and in perfect balance. Not too smoky or piney, which were the aspects that I wasn't too sure about. It's surprisingly smooth and light. A delightful early fall scent.

    Cytherea

Started out with sweet patchouli and champaca, but turned into a powdery orris single note on me. Worth a shot!

Autumn Scents - recommend the ones you love

Anyone have recommendations for mulled cider scents? I have been loving apple lately!

    Clémence

In the vial: clove Wet: CLOVE-almost eye-watering. Dry: A spiced patchouli and cardamom combo that smells vaguely like cardboard.

    Ashlultum

In the decant: Herbal musk. A vague baking spice as well. Wet: Herbal muskiness with the addition of a smidge of coconut. Dry: Creamy coconut and lilac a tiny bit of vanilla tea, all under a haze of hyssop and musk. The hyssop is pushing this too herbal for my tastes unfortunately.

    Morana

In the decant: Sharp cool pine and crystalline snow. Cold, nipping frost. Smells a lot like Tres Riches Heures du duc de Berry to me. Wet: a good dose of apple sweetens the snow. Dry: There is a mix of apple, pine, rosewood all softened and subdued by a layer of snow. The snow is softer and sweeter than it had been in the vial. A very lovely blend, considering a bottle.

    Spiced Rum Buttercream Coffee

The rum and buttercream start out quite sweet and strong in this one with only light spices appearing. This scent also has crazy throw. After putting on I walked into the living room my roommate immediately asked "What smells like.. caramel? It smells like dessert in here." As it dries I get a little more coffee and a lot more spice. Cinnamon and clove are super apparent to my nose, but I get little whiffs of others here and there. The spices over sweet cream and coffee is delicious and feels so cozy. This one is getting me hyped for autumn.

    Irish Coffee Buttercream

I want to drink this out of the bottle. It is absolutely delicious smelling. The is a nice base of sugared cream, thick and rich but not too sweet smelling. There is a nice edge of whiskey and hefty dose of coffee that keeps everything in check. It is absolutely wonderful, with decent but not over-powering throw.

    Alisz

In the bottle: Sweet vanilla mint, and a little marshmallow fluffiness. Wet: Minty vanilla and a streak of red currant. Juicy but not too sweet. The mint is pretty subdued, so while it is similar to the Lick Its it is not nearly as minty (for me at least). Dry: The spun sugar, mallow, rose, and vanilla mint all come swirling together. It's a dreamy, creamy confection wonderland without being foody or extremely sweet. I still get just a touch of red currant and I think I detect a little frankincense underneath. This is an instant favorite for me.

Razors in a Doll's House Hair Gloss

Reminds me a great deal of Die Begierde. I get lots of rose water and a little splash of the greenish cognac. This has the effect of rose spun sugar to me. Very dreamy!

Amber & Steel Hooks Hair Gloss

Primarily I get amber and steel. The warmth and sweetness of the amber I think is heightened by the vanilla. There does seem to be the faintest bit of spice as well. The steel for me is bright, and clean, though to emphasize not soapy. Beautiful and fairly subtle but not at all boring I think.

    The Intangibles

Fizzy and limey. Almost smells like soda. As it dries I get a cold minerally note that cuts through some of the initial sweetness. Definitely chaotic. Very interesting!
  22. In the imp this was so sweet and fruity it made me recoil. As it dries the honey becomes more recognizable. It smells cherry-red to me. Like candy, or if someone turned the dial up on dragon's blood and mixed it with honey.

We Cared About Such Different Things

In the imp: amber and fruity musk, almost like a sheer red musk to me. There is also a wispy breath of clean white musk. Wet: the fruitiness fades back and it is more like black musk and amber. Still getting a clean white musk wafting in and out. Dry: The black musk lightens up a bit and it is balanced with the white musk. I get warm amber but also a cool-toned note in the background. Not metallic but something similar. I have a hard time summarizing this scent but it is gorgeous.

    These Shabby Days

On me this stays pretty much the same the whole way through. Smooth myrrh and a pleasant metal tang, with a hint of sweet tobacco. Very mellow.

    The Small Brown Cat

This warm and spicy scent is a nice counterpart to Bast. It's softer and fuzzier, but quite similar. It also reminds me a great deal of Aelian's Phoenix without the cocoa. It must be the cedar, which is light and fairly smooth for cedar. I don't know if it is the combination of musk and cedar but I am getting a soft fuzziness I often associate with sandalwood. I wouldn't call it powdery but sweet and fuzzy. I get a similar vibe from the sandalwood in Mouse's Long and Sad Tale.
