    Allodoxaphobia

Fear of Opinions The discordant clang of silverware punctuates another heated rant, and Uncle Elliot whips out his phone to underscore his point with a Facebook meme he saw earlier in the day. Flecks of cranberry sauce spatter the table as a fist pounds in anger: a boisterous, conflicted, bombastic lather of red pepper, boiled cranberries, and bergamot. Very juicy cranberry scent. As it dries I get more red pepper which spices up the scent and makes it more festive. Like a new twist on the classic cranberry cinnamon combo. Not specifically getting bergamot but it could be adding some brightness. The throw is fairly low, but I don't mind as it could be overwhelming if it was too strong. Soft, but bright and cheerful.

    Maiden

I get a beautiful wispy pink rose that paired with the spicy carnation is a bit fluffy and makes me think of High-Strung Daisies a bit. But the bright, almost citrusy white tea really sets this apart, and the carnation is much spicier.

    Vicomte de Valmont

A very airy cologne. I don't get the florals very distinctly, except for some heady threads of orange blossoms now and then. I definitely get a woody, powdery sandalwood base, and the clean greenness of Spanish moss and the warm, herbal green of rosemary. These are the major components of the scent to my nose.

    Elf

Well I had a whole bottle of this eight or so years ago, so in a way this smells very nostalgic to me. It is a very soft forest scent, I get something distinctly like birch in this. The florals help make it soft and welcoming, the parma violet is quite nice and doesn't go musty candy on me as violet tends to. The base is lightly sweet because of the honeycomb and amber, these and the musk feel like streams of sunlight through the branches. The whole effect is warm, golden, and sparkling.

Cafe au Lait & a Wool Blanket

Fresh on my skin I get cozy milky coffee and a whiff of something like almond extract- sort of amaretto-ish. Then the fluffy, cleanish wool comes in. So comforting. Vanillaish (maybe tonka?) and a bit creamy with the milk. Just a bit of roasty coffee at the edges of the scent. Like a perfect Sunday morning.

    Belle Vinu

At first this is all peach, very sweet and threatens to go peach candy on my skin for a moment. The sandalwood and rosewood quickly swoop in to ground the scent however. Don't get much of the floral on my skin, but the vanilla picks up towards the end. The rosewood and powdery sandalwood make an interesting pair with the peach, very feminine and youthful.

    The Lady of Shalott

Gorgeous airy aquatic. It's clean in a non-soapy way, very light and bright. The gardenia is very soft, not very heady. It blends with the soft sweet water blossoms (hyacinth and sweet pea like) very well. Cool and ethereal. Something about this makes me think of a very early summer morning, when the air is still cool and there is a wash of dew over everything.
  8. I think Peacock Queen's rose is quite similar to Whip's, deep red and velvety. I haven't tried Bear Prince yet but have heard a lot of love for that one!

    The Poinsettia Gown

At first this smells a lot like La Folie from the Lupers, all sweet jasmine cream. But once on the skin a soft creamy pink rose joins, and the amber really grounds the whole blend. Soft, feminine and floral, but the creaminess brings it into a wintry realm.

    A World of One Color

In the bottle I get super soft cedar and ambergris, with a bright note that smells sort of citrusy. Once on the skin I wonder if it is part of the ice musk. This is unlike any ambergris scent I have. There's a warm homey feel from the ambergris, cedar, and coconut, but the frost and ice musk are so chilling over the top! A super accurate cold wind, not minty or citrusy but purely cold. So unique and atmospheric, but very wearable

    Jólabókaflóðið

In the bottle I got black tea, a bit of something smoky that made me think of whisky (but I think now is just hearthsmoke), and a little dribble of chocolate. Very cozy. On my skin I get something like the fluffy coconut snow of Snow White for a moment, but it'll quickly settles into creamy candle wax. The smokiness and chocolate hang around it hazily, with a beautiful vanilla and leather underneath that. Still very cozy, and so comforting.

    Monk

Beautiful bright green that dries down to more of a saffron-sandalwood incense. Fresh, but calm and focused.

    In Dubiis Libertas

Gorgeous golden vanilla amber base with a cool blue-green shimmer of cypress.

    In Omnibus Caritas

Initially, sweet but not cloying fluffy vanilla mallow. The honey turns this gently golden. It's grounded by the sandalwood, and luckily the orris doesn't go funny on me as it tends to. A wispy, happy scent.

    In Necessarias Unitas

Absolutely gorgeous woody resins. This smells incredibly expensive. Woody, warm, and airy with a sweet-ish, clean-ish aspect that must be the honey and oakmoss. Welcoming, refined, and relaxing.

    Songs of Autumn III

A lot less dry and smoky than I anticipated, though that is definitely still an aspect. It's a very dry, desert herbal sage and smoky cinder with brushy bits I can't identity. And then the cactus nectar which lends tiny bit of floral sweetness that is just gorgeous.

    Black Coffee & Old Books

From afar I get a dead-on old books smell, papery and musty with a bit of leather and some bitter black coffee. Up close I get a slightly chemical smell, like binding glue but I think might be the chemical bite I often get from black leather. As it dries this aspect fades and I get more roasty black coffee. So cozy and makes me think of being holed up in a bookshop.

    Dark Lace

A beautiful dark boozy incense with lots if chewy sweet tobacco on my skin. The vanilla is a haze all around it. I get just a bit of dirt underneath.

    Forget Me Not

The two most prominent notes on me are the rice powder and dried rose. It's a famine, warm powder scent with a bit of dry woodiness from the sandalwood. Reminds me a bit of Little Wooden Doll, but like a vintage ladies' powder.

    Ariel

This made me nostalgic for seaside trips from when I was a kid. I get soft sea water- not harshly salty or kelpy. I think I get a bit of ambergris as well, as there is a bit of a powdery edge, perhaps this is the sea glass or coral. Mysterious and haunting indeed.

    Silver Lace

Gorgeous! That airy sweet vanilla and tobacco lace made smooth and cool with the juniper and ti leaf. There's a brightness I think from the bergamot but it's not citrusy. Makes me think of moonlight in the winter.

    The Sun Rises To-Day

This is a beautiful airy lilac. There is something cool and soft behind it, I think the eucalyptus and blue musk. It's not at all camphorous though. Beautiful.

    Come, Sister

At first I get cold, clean blue musk and some heady florals but quickly dries down to just a faint whiff of smoke on me.

    Psionicist

I get a really soft watery mint, not very chilling or mentholic. The eucalyptus is so very soft as well, with a faint snap of ozone. To me this is a steady electric buzz rather than a jolt. This will definitely be upgraded to a bottle .

    Artificier

This is really really nice. Metal scents have generally not been my thing, but this metal isnt too cold or screechy on my skin. I think there's a good dose of blue musk, and just a hint of lubricant.
