    Egg Nog

In Imp: Clear with just a hint of yellow. Butterscotch and yellow butter cake. Wet: Butter rum and yellow butter cake. Making me sooo hungry. Dry: Mellows to freshly baked yellow butter cake and maybe really good sugar cookies. Raw sugar. Cookie dough. Turns into an almost sweet musk? Then almost sweet Play-Doh? Later: A bit of sweet-smoky wood. Sweet powdery burning wood. Like burning Sweet Gum wood.

    Doc Constantine's Medicine Show

In ATM: Clear with a hint of yellow. Sweet old-time Sandies (?) cookies with a hint of root beer? Wet: Same cookies. A hint of those sassafras leave from the woods where you tear them and they smell like lemon. I think people used to make tea from these leaves. Dry: Almost reminds me of Christmas cookies. A bit powdery. Powdered root beer. Almost like those root beer suckers where you try to get the wrapper with the Indian shooting at the star because you were supposed to be able to trade those wrappers for a free sucker. Dum-Dums? A hint of licorice. A hint of toothpaste? Later: Old books. Sweet. Dusty. Even Later: Sweet Tobacco.

    Fighter

In Imp: Metal, Leather, Male Musk Wet: Band-Aids, then leather, like saddle leather not couch leather. Rugged leather. Dry: Almost the zinc taste when you drink out of the water hose in the summer. A hint of all-male musk. Like pleasure trail musk from a guy that has been doing real manual labor – not just lifting weights while grunting and looking in a mirror. Maybe a hint of soap. Maybe a hit of shoe polish. And then a bit of warm spring rain shower. Not in the middle of the rain shower, but just before it rains and then right when it starts. That ionized air. Later: Not even a hint of sweetness. Metal. Much Later: Band-Aids again.

    The Red Queen

In Imp: Clear with a hint of yellow. Dirty Chocolate covered cherries but using real liquor for the centers and maybe a bit of grass. Wet: Luden’s cherry “cough drops” with a sweet flower. Dry: Flower that is light and pleasantly oily like a beautiful expensive musky cherry hand lotion that you bought from some expensive store where you went to buy your mother-in-law that expensive perfume she loves for Christmas and you got yourself this present because it smelled wonderful and damn it you deserve it. Later: Subtle sweet wax like those wax candies with the sweet stuff in the center you had when you were little and lived in a world where that was ok and there was no such thing as Whole Foods. Much Later: A hint of overly sweet wine on a woman’s breath that gets stronger with time [Currants?]? Like a rich old lush that only drinks from Waterford Crystal goblets and wears satin nightgowns all day long. Even Later: OMG! It turns into cherry Swisher Sweets. I think my nose just fell in love…. I smoked these once upon a time when I was young and like to pretend I didn’t know any better…. Then it turns into the sexiest musk. I need a bottle of this!!!

    Blood Pearl

In Imp: Light amber color. Clean, sweet, powdery Wet: Sweet honey? Soft flower, light sweet oil Dry: Something woodsy, powder. Hint of jasmine? Some kind of creamy dessert hand lotion. Yum. I really like this. It is very light though. It’s one of my favorite so far. Coconutty. I may have to get a full bottle.

    The Witch's Garden

In the imp: Light yellow. Dirty, mossy green. Raining in the jungle with freshly cut plants. Wet: Gardenia, fresh cut tulip stems. Juniper? Dry: Gardenia. Overpoweringly Gardenia. Later: Almost Bubblegummy? Then, it fades to a boring generic floral perfume.

    Bard

In the imp: Light yellow color. Strong powder, electricity. Wet: Sweet powder, coconut?, lovely sweet oil, reminds me of that old pheromone oil they used to sell in the back of magazines. Dry: Light Floral. It’s like being in a rich person’s garden. Orchid? Then a rich person’s boudoir, like they are hoity-toity enough that they actually call it that. LOVE! One of my favorites. Light Jasmine? Fiancé smells coconut with cinnamon. Gardenia? And Honey? Later: And then something remarkable happens, and it fades into a chocolate tobacco that stays on for a full 24hrs.

    Sin

This is my fourth review/impression: In bottle color: reddish amber Smell in bottle: Catholic church incense and something overly sweet like stewed dates Wet: vitamin E pill ear drops with cinnamon and maybe cinnamon baklava. Cinnamon red hots with a sweet oily background. Dry: Almost a really good beeswax cinnamon candle, hints of this sweet Egyptian Musk goat's milk bar of soap that I ordered off ebay this one time. The smell that would remain after washing with it. Later: turned lighter. More sweet soap, and a crack of depth seemed to open and let out something artificially fruity, like fruity pebbles? but with a hint of musk. Much later: the soapy musk smelled seemed to remain.

    Salomé

Third review/impression Color in bottle: amber In bottle: sweet with strong twangy note Wet: strong jasmine and still green twangy discordance Dry: Jasmine on a pedestal. w/fern? The smells just seem to be fighting in a very hot and humid place. It's like a flower battle. Some other flower. Gardenia? Almost numbing discordance or the smell of some kind of numbing gel. Later: I start to get hints at something powdery. It is beginning to be bearable. Much later: Fades into an older powder scent. Much much later: It's almost pleasantly sweet and powdery. After reading the full description: I really wish I would have smelled the almond or the sandalwood or the egyptian musk. I'm new to this and didn't shake it up before trying it. Maybe that was the problem.

    Mage

This is only my second BPAL scent, and this is based off an a imp that I got in a lot off ebay. These are my impressions before reading anything about what was in it or the official description or anything: At first: Sweet and spicy, like overly sugared Earl Grey tea. Warm and cozy, like a fire in the fall . Something mysterious. Carmel apples. Spiced and slightly alchololic apple cider. I feel like it should be worn with an oversized dark beige cashmere sweater that I can wrap around me as I snuggle up next to the fire and read a book. Intoxicatingly Fall. Fades to a soft, spicy cotton-resin. Impression after reading the contents and description: I don't really know what most of the ingredients are, but it makes me wonder if this vial was mislabeled. Does "Sumatran dragon's blood resin" smell like cuddles? Once upon a time, I played World of Warcraft, and I can't imagine that this scent could be based on that kind of Mage. This scent is just so snuggleable. Maybe, if there was a "Warm Hugs" buff…. I want to believe that I am just missing something, but I have a couple rare gene SNPs that make me a "supertaster" and that has always translated into smells as well. I have to believe that either this was mislabeled (even though it looks official) or it was a kind of joke. Interesting.

    Brisingamen

This is my first post and my first BPAL fragrance. I bought a lot of imps off Ebay, so all I have is a partial imp. I don't quite have the olfactory vocabulary yet that most of the people on here do, so I will just copy my impressions. I wrote this out before reading anything about it (because I don't want to prejudice my nose), and then I added any after-anaylsis to it in brackets[]. At first: Sweet musk, spicy?, powder, winter's first cold bite in the air, Disaronno(sp?), amber? Reminds me of a freshly washed, heavily muscled, but clean, cowboy that I want to sleep with. And he's wearing a freshly laundered flannel shirt that already smells like him. I want to get my finance a full bottle of this. There's something sensual about it. Then: Winter turns to spring with a hint of OFF! [the apple?] Now, it smells like camping with the same rugged -- yet clean -- man, and the sleeves are rolled up on the flannel and a few buttons are opened up on the shirt. I don't want to each lunch because I'm afraid of losing this smell. Later: it's faded to mostly powdery with hint of resin? (a bit like the stuff they use on violin's bows?), but there is still a sweetness and a cleanness and something masculine. [i'm surprised that most people consider this for women rather than men. It does settle into a softer note, but on a real manly man, I'm guessing this stuff will give women fantasies about a stud that will do the laundry. If I smelled this in a men's deodorant isle, I would buy up the whole shelf of them.]
