  1. Lilith loves RuPaul’s Drag Race, and she thought it would be fun to dress up for Drag Con 2018 as Lil Poundcake. I made a promise to her when she was tiny that I would carry her on my shoulders for as long as she wanted me to, and I am pretty positive that I will carry her down the aisle for her wedding. As I carried her around Drag Con, and I would hear people whisper, “oh my god, it’s Lil poundcake.” Some people would yell “Lil Poundcake!” and she would happily flip them off in character. When people would stop us and ask to take a photo, I would set Lilith down, give her the boa, and she would pose for the photo. Then she’d hop back on my shoulders and we’d continue on our way. Ah, the life of a dad. I wouldn’t give it up for anything. Dorian smushed into a cherry lollipop. In the bottle - It reminds me a little of cherry cough drops. Uh oh. Wet - Turns more into a sticky cherry lollipop scent, thank goodness. A hint of mintiness behind the cherry, which is unexpected but not unpleasant. Drydown - The cherry has mostly disappeared, and now it smells like Frostbitten Dorian with some sugar on top. Very curious. Getting harder to detect as it wears. Verdict - Dorian makes everything better. Some people are really into the Snake Oil variants (and deservedly so; they're awesome) ... but me? I'm all about the Dorians. This one didn't topple Dorian in the Pumpkin Patch from my top spot -- but then again it's 80 degrees outside and I snatched it straight out of the mailbox. I'm going to let it settle and try again.
  2. White sandalwood, black currant, and pomegranate. In the bottle - Berries and sandalwood. Heavy on the latter. Wet - Sandalwood and I get along great, so it’s no surprise that it turns silky smooth the minute it hits my skin. Man, this is teetering on the edge of gourmand. The sandalwood grounds it juuuust enough … or does it? I don’t care; I love foody scents. Drydown - The fruits are marinating in a gorgeously creamy bed of sandalwood. I feel like the blend is actually getting juicier as it wears on, and I’m even slightly reminded of winter cranberries. Not sure where that’s coming from. The sandalwood core emerges gradually as the hours wear on and the berries fade. Thankfully, the currants start acting a lot more like themselves: sweet and a bit spicy. (Actually, they’re authentic enough to trigger flashbacks to when Eat Me was in heavy rotation.) Verdict - I can’t shake the Eat Me comparison now. Hah! I wish the pomegranate had come out to play a little bit more, but my skin chemistry tends to eat it up. Still, Prosperine is a solid blend that will get steady wear from me as we transition from fall to winter.
  3. White oak, pine pitch, and a shattered shard of golden amber. In the bottle - Gentle oak with a nip of pine about it. It’s foresty, but despite the pine it’s not a “cold” forest. Wet - Wow, that’s getting sharp. It feels like there’s something green in there, which doesn’t quite fit with the scent description. Maybe the white oak is throwing me? I think I've only tried blends with plain ol' oak in there. Except this scent doesn’t smell like a woodsy, freshly-chopped trees kinda green ... more like mossy rocks green. I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t like it as much as I did in the bottle, but this isn’t a dealbreaker. Drydown - Ahh, THERE it is. Amber saves the day. Everything evened out and I’m quite pleased with where it ended up. If I had to sum it up, I guess I’d say golden woods in the family of Haloes? But that's not quite it. If Haloes smells like a sunlight-dappled grove, King Pursued would be a forest where all the trees are gilded with gold leaf. There, that's the best I can do. Verdict - King Pursued has an elegance befitting its name. I’m cuckoo for woodsy scents, so this was right up my alley. This unicorn has definitely earned a spot in my stable of staples.
  4. Watching Lilith light up on stage makes me so proud and happy that I have trouble not crying. I believe that I will fall over dead when she collects her Tony Award and thanks me for carrying her backpack all those days. Icy berry slushie, bubblegum, and blue lollipops. In the bottle - This is a happy citrus candy smell. It reminds me of something, actually. I can't quite put my finger on it. Wet - Oh shit. That's Juicy Fruit gum. On my wrist. What a world we live in. I keep waiting for some of the blue stuff -- berries, lollipops -- but my brain can't seem to get past the bubblegum. Drydown - Once it settled in on me, the berries started to come out and the scent unfolded a bit. I like this, but be warned: I have an unnatural affinity for sugary sweet scents and some bonkers skin chemistry, so your mileage may vary. Verdict - In the end, this was berries and bubblegum, as promised. I adore it, although I probably won't need a whole bottle.

    The Silver Dollar

His fingers closed around the Liberty dollar in his pocket, and he remembered Zorya Polunochnaya, and the way she had looked at him in the moonlight. Did you ask her what she wanted? It is the wisest thing to ask the dead. Sometimes they will tell you. Gilded iris and Siamese benzoin, silvery-white musk, white tea leaf, and bergamot. In the bottle - Definitely silver and metallic. I get the metallic tang of Flintstones vitamins and just a touch of citrus brightness. Wet - Gah! Crazy morph. It's dead citrus and dull flower petals and old chewed gum. I'm really turned off. Drydown - My skin ate everything but the iris, which doesn't smell good on me. Kind of reminds me of the staleness of my grandma's house. Verdict - Good news! It leveled out a bit the longer I had it on, eventually drying out into a faint and inoffensive floral. Also: my coworker tried this on herself and absolutely loved it. She said it smelled gentle and exquisite -- and on her it did. I'm bummed that this didn't work for me, but my loss is her gain. Shes absolutely enchanted by it, and I like it way more on her skin. This blend seems highly dependent on skin chemistry.

    Cherophobia

Fear of Gaiety Clacking white teeth bared in repugnant, feral upturned leers. Laughter, hideous laughter: bubbling white ginger gurgling through hot red carnations, shreds of orange peel, and cloying globs of honey. In the bottle - Ooh baby. It's sweet-citrus-ginger. I have a good feeling about this. Wet - Yup, that's carnation. Drydown - I want to say that I'm getting something else -- anything else -- but it's alllll carnation. Damn you, skin chemistry. Verdict - Although I like the scent, I didn't need a whole bottle. I might look for an oil burner so I can get that in-the-bottle ginger back in my life.

    Five Golden Rings

Four Calling Birds Three French Hens Two Turtle Doves and a Partridge in a Pear Tree Luminous golden amber, lemon peel, and royal agarwood, tonka bean and bone-white orris, and a splash of blood. In the bottle - Definitely got that "bone white" feel going on. Dry. Wet - Instantly juicy. These bones are fresh, with lemon zest and amber. Amber is dominating. Drydown - A lot more wood now. Damn, I rather like this. It's a vibrant amber-wood blend with a hint of juiciness. There isn't a lot of throw, so I don't have much more to report. The amber does go a little powdery as it wears on. I'm sneezing a lot. (Potentially unrelated since I've been breathing wildfire smoke for the last week, but thought you should know.) Verdict - For the most part, I like it. I'm going to have to give this a couple more tries, though. I haven't quite figured it out.
  8. One of the biggest joys of my life is holding hands and walking with Lilith. My lovely wife is always walking behind us taking these photos, and I love how you can see Lilith growing up over the years. Lilith, please never stop holding my hand. Dorian holding hands with Slime Queen, with Snake Oil happily trailing behind. In the bottle - Daaaaamn. I can smell it all. This is gonna be a doozy. Wet - Aw shit. The SECOND I put this on, it transforms into something glorious. Slime Queen, is that you? It feels vibrant and young and carefree. There's a tinge of Snake Oil watching over the mix, making sure things don't get too out of control. Drydown - Hot DAMN I love this. It's like listening to a mashup of the classic BPAL hits with a fresh new twist. It's still there after a couple hours, and every time I catch a waft of it there's a slightly different angle of the scent showing. Not content with being a lovely blend, this is also interesting AF. Verdict - Folks are going to be hoarding this. I might be one of them.
  9. Taste it. The drink was a tawny golden color. Shadow took a sip, tasting an odd blend of sour and sweet on his tongue. He could taste the alcohol underneath, and a strange blend of flavors. It reminded him a little of prison hooch, brewed in a garbage bag from rotten fruit and bread and sugar and water, but it was sweeter, and far stranger. Okay, said Shadow. I tasted it. What was it? Mead, said Wednesday. Honey wine. The drink of heroes. The drink of the gods. Shadow took another tentative sip. Yes, he could taste the honey, he decided. That was one of the tastes. Tastes kinda like pickle juice, he said. Sweet pickle-juice wine. Tastes like a drunken diabetic's piss, agreed Wednesday. I hate the stuff. Nine glory-twigs dipped in golden mead. In the bottle - Juicy Fruit gum? But spicy. It's really pretty, kind of what I expected from Mama-Ji. Wet - Whoa, that just morphed. It lost the spice and the fruitiness and now it's just bold. I don't know how else to phrase it. Almost leafy? (Which is odd, because if I remember correctly it's supposed to be a honey-mead scent.) Drydown - Still bold, even as the sillage has decreased. The honey here is swarthy and sweet, and there's something tempering the sweetness that I can't quite put my finger on. I'm a big fan of this blend. Verdict - I feel like this is a scent journey that follows Wednesday's mead. It's sickly sweet when you sniff it in the bottle, then a punch to the gut, and then it washes over you and you're happily floating along in the stupor of the scent. Perhaps that wasn't the best description, but I quite like this. My coworker commented that it smells like a Leo scent, and I completely agree.

    Elf Hair Gloss

Pale golden musk, honeycomb, amber, parma violet, hawthorne bark, aspen leaf, forest lily, life everlasting, white moss, and a hint of wild berry. This is everything I wanted it to be and then some. Aspen is effing magical, you guys. The evergreen aspect of this scent makes it very winter-appropriate, but who am I kidding? I’m wearing this sucker year-round. Can't. Get. Enough. On the surface, it’s a simple and sophisticated sweet-forest-woods scent: honeyed amber and golden musk eating berries in the forest. But DAMN, y’all. There’s a rich complexity here that really blooms once it hits my hair and I can’t even put it into words. Yeah, the gloss does everything it’s supposed to and all that ... but O! the dreamlike brilliance that is Elf! Golden and ethereal and haunting and magical. It’s the comfortable stillness of walking through an ancient forest resplendent with dewy fairy flowers and a swirl of sweet honey and berries in the air. It's absolutely enchanting, and I’m sorely tempted to sell every other hair gloss I own to make room for more of this. If Elf disappears quickly on your skin or you enjoy scents like Fae Forest, try the perfection that is Elf hair gloss.

    Bubbles and Unicorns

My baby, please never stop singing whatever goddamn song you want to sing, and never stop singing it at the top of your lungs. Never stop doing silly dances, never stop making jokes. Never stop talking about unicorns, never stop howling like a werewolf, never stop making wishes on dandelions. Never stop playing, never stop laughing. Dont ever let anyone tell you that youre too old to be joyful, or that the things you love are foolish or childish. Lilith, never stop blowing bubbles. Dandelion sap and blackcurrant bud with opalescent, shimmering white musk. In the bottle - This is beautiful. It's somewhere between Fairy Market and Butterflies, Flowers & Jewels Attending. Wet - LOVE how this smells on me! It was almost grassy in the bottle, but it morphed quickly on my skin into crystalline musk and juicy blackcurrant. (I know the description says blackcurrant bud, but I swear these berries have some flesh on them.) Drydown - Magical berries and milky dandelion sap. I had to huff pretty closely by the time it was completely dry. There's a sort of nectar aspect to it -- not quite spicy, but still tickles the nose. Sometimes currants go tangy on me, and that's not happening. Verdict - My skin chemistry sucked all the crystalline qualities out of this blend so it's now an incredibly well-blended perfume of soft, milky blackcurrants -- like an ethereal, non-pastry version of Eat Me. It ended up as a very cozy close-to-the-skin scent, perfect for the coming fall months. It kind of reminds me of a commercial perfume that I can't quite put my finger on. I'll update if I manage to narrow it down.

    Papa Monster

A growling good time: the scent of grape and red cherry swirl ring pops, licorice whips, and a touch of vanilla cupcake frosting. In the bottle - Cherry syrup vibe. Grenadine for the win. Wet - It definitely smells wet. Like red gummy worms that you’ve sucked through your mouth spaghetti-style a few times. (C’mon, I can’t be the only one who did that.) Drydown - Slippery, sticky, wet lollipops. I’m getting a teensy bit more grape than cherry now, and the whole effect transports me back to when I’d spend all day running around with a wet Ring Pop on my finger. For some reason I expected the licorice whips to be black licorice, but if there IS licorice in the mix it’s definitely not the sharp anise smell that I’ve come to fear. No vanilla frosting to speak of. Verdict - I never did get any vanilla out of this blend, but it doesn’t matter. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have Papa Monster. It’s all childhood and happiness and sugar on me. I think I’ll have to get another bottle. *Edited for typos.
  13. Raisin em right! The t-shirt that Lilith is wearing is Alaska Thunderf*cks Lil Poundcake. Lilith, I am your real dad and I always will be! Pomegranate cotton candy. This might've leaked a little in transit because I can smell it before I even open the bottle. I loooove it already. In the bottle - Deeply sugary. Not getting much fruit. Wet - This feels kind of thin, like the sugar water you put out for hummingbirds. Or really weak Kool-Aid. Unimpressed so far, but If I can smell half as good as the bubble wrap this came in? Oof. Drydown - OH GAWD. It reminds me of a Bubblicious gum from my childhood, though I can't put my finger on which one. This is happy pomegranate, if that makes sense. Reminds me less of the underworld and more of eating messy, juicy poms on the front lawn as a kid. Verdict - Not a substantial perfume but it's just SO. MUCH. FUN. that I don't care how much I have to reapply. Considering a backup because it's friggin' delicious.
  14. A glowing gold lantern hanging low and large in the sky heralding the first breath of spring. Fossilized amber resin releasing a cascade of crocus and daffodil petals, glory-of-the-snow, graceful iris, radiant life everlasting, and a rainbow burst of tulip. In the bottle - Cold grass with some blossoms. Wet - Still grassy, but it's a beautiful and slightly magical meadow now -- kind of like a slightly frosty Fairy Market. Drydown - An hour in, this has almost faded completely, but it's doing that celestial blend thing where it gets a little perfumey. The amber shows up to the party around hour two and really starts to put the whole blend in focus, grounding it slightly. It adds a tiny bit of powder, but I actually like it. Verdict - I tried slathering, but unfortunately my skin just eats this right up. Maybe I'll put it in a diffuser or an oil burner or something so I can have more of the enchanted spring goodness. I am definitely going to try layering this with other scents, partially to see if I can get it to last longer but mainly because I'm already making mental combinations. Besides Fairy Market, I'm thinking I'll try Smug Yale, Pa-Pow, Catch Me, The Hare, A Moment in Time, Canis Major, Round Dance ... so many possibilities.

    Pa-Pow Hair Gloss

Pa-Pow the Wonderdog: the great love of Teddys life, his little soulmate. We lost her in 2008, but her spirit will be with Teddy forever. Three golden ambers with a hint of jellybean. Good lord. I can *feel* the love for this dog. This scent is beyond gorgeous and I suspect I will need at least one backup bottle. I can't even describe it. It's deep and warm and light and sweet and it all blends so wondrously that it's just a cloud of remembered puppy kisses in the late afternoon sun. My boyfriend couldn't stop snuggling up to me and sniffing, even saying that I "smell cuddly." Seriously, guys. Holy shit. If you're hesitating because you think it'll be too resinous or heavy, don't. If you're hesitating because you think it'll be too saccharine or juvenile, don't. It's perfect.

    Who Would Not Tremble Too?

The new discovery of “Table Moving,” by means of an unseen power from the human hand, has only been introduced into England within the last few weeks; but it would be difficult to dingle out any scientific subject which has with such rapidity, taken so extensive a hold of the popular mind. If we travel by railway carriage, steamboat, or omnibus, this is the universal topic of conversation. From the aristocratic saloons of Belgravia to the “Parlours” of Whitechapel – the Green Park to the Cat and Mutton Fields, “table moving” is all the rage. From the Royal Institution, where the secretary pokes his head through a forest of electrical apparatus, to inform the audience that the facts are established, down to the humblest Mechanics’ Institute, all are full of it, and the tables, to quote the words of the old song – “are all a moving, move, move, moving,” – Every evening party must of course have its experiments; accordingly, gentlemen come provided with very elegant chapeaux for the occasion, and many an innocent flirtation occurs consequent on the proper arrangement of the little fingers of some of the fair operators. As “sweet eighteen,” with her blue eyes and golden locks, gracefully links her little finger with Charles’s, in a retired corner, what wonder if the hat should tremble? And Charles, being of course fond of poetry (his very name is a guarantee for that), cannot resist softly breathing into Lucy’s ear, that exquisite line from Waller, on his fair one’s harp – “Touched by that hand – who would not tremble too?” And after a little more conversation of a strictly scientific character, they feel quite satisfied with the success of the experiment. Mamma, who has been watching the progress of the magnetic influence at a distance, “has no patience with such nonsense, and wonders young men and young women cannot find something better to do.” She forgets that there was a magnetic influence at work about twenty years since, and what little trifles served as conductors then. – Table Moving, its causes and phenomena: with directions how to experiment A spirit-touched courtship: sweet orange blossom, white honey, jasmine tea, white sandalwood, green apple, and lily of the valley. In the bottle - Very buoyant, happy greenery. Wet - Warm. I get lots of honey. Sweet green springtime scent. Drydown - I'm smelling honey, but thinking nectar. It actually reminds me of the Nectar hair gloss, and I'm picturing a miniature butterfly garden. Tickles my nose a bit. I'd have to re-sniff my decant, but my mind is drawing parallels between this and Venus Verticordia, which I also liked. This has more going on, though. Less grass, more tea. It gets less heavy as it wears. By the end of the day, this was a spectral memory of spring. Verdict - Just lovely. I can't see anyone being offended by this. Might even be a good work scent, since it doesn't have much throw.

    2016: Ivory Phoenix

The great joy of 2016 was the creation of the first perfumes in our collaborative series with Blood Milk. Jesss creativity, artistry, immense talent and beautiful soul is a true inspiration, and designing scents based on her jewelry talismans that inspire me so deeply was such a profound pleasure. 2016 is a hard year to talk about, as that year also saw the onset of tremendous darkness in the United States a brittle victory for hatred, intolerance, and cruelty. We launched our opening volley against it with Nasty Woman, a scent benefitting EMILYs List and Planned Parenthood. A scent of stubborn hope, a light in the dark: golden frankincense and clove, a drop of fiery cinnamon, and white cognac. In the bottle - This is a gorgeous spice, likely thanks to the clove-cinnamon combo. Wet - Oh god. Alllll the cinnamon for a hot minute. I smell like a really creamy Red Hot right now. I like it. Drydown - Maybe it's the season getting to me, but this smells like Christmas. The frankincense lends just enough resin to balance and ground the fierce spice, which has now softened from "hot hot heat" to the warmth and coziness of a fuzzy blanket. I think the cognac keeps the blend from overheating. This is a comforting, robust scent that fades fairly quickly. Verdict - I'm so SO glad to have this. I almost didn't buy Ivory Phoenix because it has a couple worrisome notes for me, but dammit... Stubborn hope gets me every time.

    Dignified. Elegant. Sophisticated.

In the bottle - Spicy sweet Snake Oil bubblegum! Wet - Spicy bubblegum. Like ... carnation bubblegum. Drydown - More Snakey as it dries. Snake Oil can be a bit much for me if it's not aged. In this scent, the sweetness of the bubblegum cuts the intensity of the Snake Oil. Verdict - It stays pretty linear throughout the day. Snake Oil and bubblegum, just like it says. Not much else to add, except that I can't WAIT for it to age. It's going to be a gorgeous blend.

    The She-Goat

In the bottle - This smells kind of like Amicitia with a little coastal flavor. I LOVE Amicitia (seriously -- I have 6 bottles) so this feels like a new spin on an old favorite. Wet - I'm getting sage for sure, along with a whirl of other things I recognize from my time in California but can't quite place. Herbal, slightly floral, green-brown smell. Drydown - It stayed pretty true to my first impression: a breeze full of local summer vegetation. The floral component has disappeared, though I suspect that's just my skin chemistry at work. Verdict - Sage is the main player in this blend. It's not as sweet as Amicitia, not as resinous as Chinigchinix, and not as dusty as Djed. It's just the dry sagebrush aspect of those. Think Halloween: Los Angeles without the fire/smoke notes. Man, this has some serious layering possibilities. I think it'll bring scents "home" for me, since it smells so much like the area where I grew up.

    Serving Fish

You'd be hard pressed to get fishier than this: gilded sweet pea, pink musk, and vanilla sugar. In the bottle - Muskier than I was expecting. Had to double check to be sure it was the correct bottle. Wet - The musky edge gave way to the sweet pea almost instantaneously, and I'm definitely getting more floral now. I hope the vanilla sugar comes out to play soon, because at the moment the blend is teetering on the edge of cloying. (Disclaimer: I have a rough time with a lot of floral scents, so keep that in mind.) If any of you are/were fans of Bath & Body Works' sweet pea products, this one is all you. Drydown - Sweet peasplosion! Apparently my skin chemistry thinks this is a single note, because there's nothing else on the horizon. The sillage on this baby is incredible for maybe the first half hour. It's like Aeval on steroids, and then all of a sudden -- bam! It has quieted down and leveled itself out ... and it's kinda freakin' gorgeous. With my eyes closed, I could probably convince myself that I'm standing in the middle of a butterfly garden on a sunny spring day. Verdict - Unfortunately, I think this is one of those scents I wouldn't wear often. It's super evocative, but I think I'll pass my bottle on to someone who will love it properly.
  21. hammy

    Blue Unicorn Moon

In the bottle - This really does smell blue. Sweet and blue! (Can't wait to wear it! Probably my favorite cold sniff from my Luper order.) Wet - Warms up right away. It's like frosting, but not your regular everyday frosting. This is all smooth magic unicorn frosting, and then bam! BLUEBERRY GLITTER GUMBALLS. Drydown - Still blue. My skin tends to absorb sweet stuff so it soaked up all the sugary goodness, leaving me with almost a floral-vanilla aftertaste. Still very nice, still sweet. I agree with the above review -- something about this reminds me of the soft florals in Love & Sleep and maaaaybe Poor Monkey (both of which have fig milk, vanilla, and ylang-ylang). I wish the saccharine bubblegum phase lasted a bit longer, but I still love it when it turns into vanilla-blue territory. Kiiiind of want it in a hair gloss now. Verdict - This isn't the type of sugar that will keep you up at night. In fact, I'd almost use this as a sleep scent because it goes so dreamy-vanilla-sleepytime-moon on me. Lilith, you're awesome for making this and I look forward to sniffing more of your signature scents. High five, girl! This definitely put a smile on my face.
  22. Walking and holding hands with my Lilith as we joke and giggle is one the greatest joys of my life. She is growing up fast, and these moments will happen less and less, but I will forever treasure them. I hope that when she is an adult, she will look back on these memories and feel 1/100 of the happiness that she brings to her father. Sunflowers and California poppies, vanilla-tinged oak bark, and a spill of sugary breakfast cereal. In the bottle - Not sure what happened at the Post, but the oil in my bottle was barely at the top of the label. That said, this seems suuuuper up my alley. I live in Southern California, and this smells like sweetened summer air. Wet - A little grassy. Totally OK with this initial grassiness, since it seems to level itself out almost immediately. Drydown - Hm. There's a component in this that's making my nose twitch. Maybe the oak bark? I'm trying to think of other oak blends and whether those bother me ... all the ones I can think of (Haloes, Antikythera, Arana, Oak Moon -- pretty much everything except Lawful) are good on me. Maybe this is that Lawful oak? Or maybe I'm placing the blame incorrectly and it's the sunflowers or poppies that are throwing me off? Or the fact that it's vanilla-tinged? Hm. I really don't know what's going on here. Verdict - I thought I'd love this. Assumed it'd be an instant hit, actually. I'll give it another shot in a few weeks, though I don't think my skin chemistry will cooperate. All the sweetness and nostalgia and florals were gobbled up by my skin. I'll definitely save it for a locket or oil burner or something. It's absolutely lovely in the bottle and I'm really disappointed that I don't get to wear the gorgeousness I smelled in there.
  23. hammy

    Canis Major

In the bottle - Crystalline dog fur. I don't know how Beth does it. Wet - The fur aspect is almost sassafras-ish? But also crisp and cool. It's awesome -- I just don't know what's going on. Drydown - It's ethereal and snuggly at the same time. Approachable. Verdict - Rapidly climbing the charts as one of my favorite Yules.
  24. hammy

    Crimson Pumpkin Floss

In the bottle - Lots of pumpkin. Wet - Still lots of pumpkin. Drydown - OMG. This is amazing. I'm too excited to be useful with any sort of description. It's not craft store pumpkin. It's like you dumped a jar of grenadine and a pumpkin tart into the cotton candy machine, and this popped out. It's not terribly complex or subtle, but that's not what I want out of it. Verdict - This dissipates quickly, like most scents I love. Not a problem; I will happily slather. Already bought a backup.
  25. hammy

    Frostbitten Dorian

In the bottle - Cool and refreshing! Not getting much beyond that. Wet - Unmistakably Dorian, but with an additional element I'm not loving. It almost feels like there's more lavender than usual? That might be it. Drydown - God, I wish I could have a bit of this with just a little less lavender. It's gorgeous as it wafts, and then I stick my face into my wrist and ... it's super herbal. I think the lavender is actually amping on me. Damn it. (For the record, I don't have this issue with regular Dorian.) Verdict - You know what, guys? I don't even care. This scent will get stuck. in. your. head. I find myself absentmindedly raising my wrist up to my nose every few minutes just to get a little closer to the magic smell. I just have to remember not to get it too close or I have herbal issues. The medium-to-low wear length left me wanting more. Gorgeousness.
