Sorry if this has already been discussed, please slap me on the wrist and move this if that is the case! I was Amazon link-hopping and decided on a whim to search and see if anyone had put their BPALs up on amazon, and found this instead (that's a page of search of "black phoenix alchemy lab" "bpal" brings up slightly different, but very similar results) It seems as if the lab itself is selling on amazon which is very cool IMO.

In the bottle this is very floral. I can't smell the milk or honey at all. On my skin it starts to get kind of spicy... which I totally didn't expect from this but it's not bad really. I still can't smell the milk or honey. (which is kind of disappointing) Maybe I should try it at a different time of month when my chemistry isn't so weird.

A bounty of chocolate coins! Dry cocoa and golden amber! This is beautiful! Right out of the bottle it smells like baking cocoa powder but a little sweeter, with kind of a nutty undertone. After I let it sit on my skin for a bit the amber starts to come out and really rounds out the scent. Mmmmmm. It's not quite foody in that "I want to eat my wrists" way, but there's something about that cocoa/nut combo that's just so tasty smelling. I only have a decant, but I might have to break the bank and go for a bottle.

The first thing I smell out of the bottle is sweet, sweet vanilla. On my skin it pretty much stays that way, but with a bit of the musk and just a teeny touch of floral creeping in. I think this is one of those I'm gonna have to try once or twice before I can decide if I love it or not...

That Candy Phoenix label is beautiful!! I've been wanting to buy a bottle of it, and that's just giving me another reason... lol

I bought a bottle of Snake Oil aged 1 yr. from another forum-goer. I had to try it, and I've read that it's best aged. In the bottle: spicy and smoky. This is a scent that packs a punch! On me: the oil and the scent itself is darker than I expected. Right away it starts to lose its spicy kick, (but not completely) and starts to get sweeter. It smells kind of incense-y to me... I don't get much distance out of this one unfortunately. edit: it left an orangeish spot on my fair skin... *sadness*

Another forumite sent this to me as a freebie when I ordered from her, and I have to say... I LOVE it. In the bottle it's wet gushing grapes. Fruitier than I would imagine from the description. When it gets on my skin it starts to mellow out and the amber (I think) starts to peek it's way through. It got a little floral and a tiny but of musk but mostly it stayed smelling like grapes and amber. It stuck around on me longer than most BPALs do but I think I'll have to find a way to make this little imp last, since alas, I won't be getting any more of this any time soon.

This might not be in the right place... but I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it. So, I got an imp of Prospero with an order from a fellow forum-er and I've discovered that I LOVE it but alas, there is no way I can get it, since I live on the east coast. (And I don't even know if they're still selling the Dark Delicacies, or it's an every once in a while thing, or what) Is there anything that anyone has discovered that smells similar to it. I can try to describe it if it would help, but I don't think I'm terribly good at describing what I smell...

Can anyone suggest something that has a whipped cream-like smell to it? Like thick cream and sugar? Preferably without too much else, but I know that would be kinda hard to find...

In the bottle this is totally spicy orange! It pops right out at me and makes me want to eat it. I can smell a tiny bit of what I guess is the fig in there but it's swamped bu the orange. On my skin the fig is coming out a bit more now but the spice and the orange are still strong. And it's still making me want to eat my wrists! It's almost Christmas now, so I guess that's why this scent is making me think of those Christmas cinnamon-orange-and clove things. I got this as one of 2 gifts from the lab in my most recent order, and i LOVE it. It smells SOO tasty and fruity. but with some spiciness this is going in the "order a big bottle" pile right away!

Maybe I'm just weird, but I got some creaminess out of Antique Lace. Not so much in the bottle, but defininately once it got on my skin and sat a while. And it wasn't too terribly strong either, just kinda there playing around with the sweetness. It was really nice and went really well with the rest of the scent.

I bought this one because of the "snow" aspect to it. I'd never had a BPAL scent with snow and I really wanted to try one and, lo and behold, this one came along so I had to try it. In the bottle it smells woodsy and and grassy. Overlaid by the clean scent of fresh fallen snow. It puts me in mind of a kind of swampy (in a good way) forest on the edge of a tall grassy field on a bright, cold night when the snow has just fallen. On me the snowy scent fades but it stays nice and woodsy and wintery... with something else I can't put my finger on. Overall, I like it a lot. It's a good scent without being too overpowering or heavy. ______________ ETA: Right at the end of December I tried this again. It's the first time I've touched it since I bought it when it first came out, and WOAH there's a big difference. When I opened the bottle it was cola and fizzy, something there was absolutely no hint of for me the first time I tried it. When I put it on my skin the cola smell disappeared instantly and the snow/ice note the I loved before was still there but barely noticeable for me. The dried grasses and herbs phase seems to come faster now to cover up the woodsy and mossy stage. Don't get me wrong, it's still a supremely beautiful scent, just very different than the one it was before. I wasn't expecting it to change so drastically so fast!

In the bottle the mint is very strong, with the moss floating around in the background. On my wrists the mint starts to fade and something watery and dark starts to come to the forefront. I wouldn't quite say electric when I smell this, but it's definitely not bad. I got it as one of two imp gifts with another order. I'll enjoy this one but I probably won't reorder it, just not my style of scent.

I never get rose out of this one. For me, in the bottle and on my skin, I get mostly sweet cherry and some muskyness. A little of the lavender finds its way in there but not enough to be overpowering. (That's saying a lot coming from me, since even a hint of lavender is usually enough to give me a migrane) I got this as a freebie in an order of imps and ended up liking it better than anything else i the order! (Much Thanks!) The only downside to this scent in my opinion is the wear time is pretty short.

In the bottle it's very sweet and creamy and vanilla-y. And strong... I can barely smell the flower scent peeking through, but it's there. On my skin the vanilla comes way out and it smells kind of... dusty. But in a good way. I only put a bit on each wrist and I can smell it all around me. This is exactly what i was going for! I bought an imp of Antique Lace because I was looking for a scent with a good throw and lasting time but also wasn't too overpowering and I think this is just the thing! Definitely time to buy a big bottle!
