Just beautiful and very atmospheric. I get the leaves and amber, and its soft and very autumnal.

This is my favorite of the Post's Halloweenies 2015 HG! I get the dead leaves and musk immediately, then the musk fades and I am left with soft, autumnal vanilla auras. Just lovely! ☺

My bottle of Gourmand (ETA #82) smells like sugar, vanilla with perhaps just the teeniest bit of white chocolate. It's feminine and lovely - so happy with it!

Black amber and jasmine tea with 7-year aged vanilla bourbon absolute. This one turned out pretty flat for me. All I smell is a very dark booze - nothing romantic about it. I was hoping to get a floral tea with resiny vanilla undertones. Sadly this did not happen. It also has almost no staying power for me, after 20 minutes I can not detect it anymore.

Hmmm.... This is the Hair Gloss version of Peach Moon on me. Not much in common with Peach Moon as far as listed notes go, but really, that's the only thing that comes to mind when I smell this gloss. So Cubeb is some kind of pepper, but this gloss has zero peppery traces for me. It was the only note that worried me. Clearly unfounded fears. Since I love Peach Moon so much, and this gloss might as well be made of Peach Moon, its a definite WIN. Probably going to get a backup of this one before Lupers disappear in April. love love love!

THANK YOU FOR MAKING ROSE RED A HAIR GLOSS!! ahem... Rose Red gloss is like walking into a gloriously healthy rose garden after a rainshower. The rose is true and elegant. The greenery is fresh and vibrant. The 'dew' is soft and refreshing. This is a fabulous accomplishment by the Lab & Post! If you can release this every Yule, that would be phenomenal!

This is lovely! To me its a cool spring scent. The honey is the warmth of spring but there is definitely a coolness to it, and to me it smells like icy/iced vanilla sugar with a teeny, tiny drop of something minty. I'll be using this one a bunch, I'm sure of it!

Winter Lily & Sugar Cane This is a surprise winner for me! The lily is subtle, the snow - just the right amount of 'coolness', and the sugar cane just makes this scent glow. It's a perfectly sophisticated scent, and very subdued. Perfect for a 'stuffy' office setting or if you just want a soft, delicate scent. absolutely lovely!

Frosty Silkybat I did not try the original Silkybat HG, so there is no point of comparison. This is a gorgeous wintery scent! It's soft and mellow but noticeable. If patchouli isn't your thing (it's certainly not mine *) you can still try this and love it. I think the snowy notes and vanilla give a perfect balance to the patchouli, and it probably helps significantly that the patchouli is 'sugared' Excellent work BPTP & BPAL!!!

Boo Hair Gloss is AMAZING! It's a glorious sweet - but not too sweet! - vanilla with just the teeniest touch of linen. It lingers all day without being overpowering or subtle, just perfect! I thought I would be safe from backup purchases this Halloweenie - but Boo HG is seriously making me reconsider

Devil's Night 2011 This one is quite bold. it's definitely boozy and sugary. I do get a blast of musk when I first apply it, but this fades into a super sugary shot of whiskey (or, it smells whiskey like to me anyway) it's actually quite nice and definitely brings to mind a mischievious October night.

Snow-laden woods, iced blackberry and bergamot, white rose, and crystallized amber. In the Bottle: Not a terribly 'cold' scent, but rather warm and inviting. I can detect the scent of the famous BPAL 'snow' note - as well as the amber and blackberry. The label is very striking as well - it looks very much like the massage oil labels, but with winter colors and tones. In the Bathtub: I poured about 7 drops of this bath oil under hot running water; having never used a bath oil before, I didn't know if this would foam or not. It did not - but it made the bath water astoundingly moisturized and silky. Aside from the blossoming scent of rose, amber, snow and blackberry - the water looked like nothing special at all. The oil made my skin feel great! I could particularly notice the affects on my ankles and calves. Out of the Bathtub: My skin is very moisturized and the scent of the Winter Maiden still clings to me as any of BPAL's perfumes would - just ALL OVER as opposed to just the pulse points. The prominent notes on me are: Snow, Amber and Blackberry - with Rose hiding under the bunch; it's almost indistinct. My skin feels wonderfully silky and soft too! I didn't even need to apply any lotion to areas of my skin that are notoriously dry in the winter - that's very impressive from my standpoint! Verdict: Wonderful! If I had known that bath oils were this effective I would have tried them long ago. The Winter Maiden is simply lovely - for me, the scent brings to mind a Japanese hot spring in the dead of winter - but there's still cherry blossoms falling in the bath water, and the snow and white roses are mingling happily together just outside the light of the torches surrounding the spring. 10 of 10 Ranking! ETA: BPTP Description & Correct the Title.

I was hoping that this would smell more like the candy 'marshmallow pumpkin' moreso than a marshmallow and a pumpkin - sitting side by side. For my nose, this is nearly all raw pumpkin and nearly zero fluffy sugary goodness that i would expect from a Marshmallow. Sadly, this one does not really work for me as a "soak for hours" bath oil. It does work better as a soft additive to body lotion - literally 2 drops in a quarter sized amount of lotion.

Pink Phoenix I've had this scent since 2005 but I don't seem to have ever reviewed it.... This blend is definitely silly and pink. it's a perfect sugared pear and strawberry scent - just lovely! it's also quite sweet, which is probably the honeycomb. I love this one so much that I bought plenty of backups recently now I can wear my original more often

The scent of tea - BPAL's tea note, BPAL blends like your favorite tea
Akurarei replied to sarada's topic in Recommendations
Maybe I missed it, but Bewitched should be added to this list Deep, luscious green and berry scents that evoke images of woodland witchcraft and the raw power of nature: blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk. -
Resurrecting this thread! any new additions to the BPAL Pear list? Titania Perilous Parlor The Vine Endymion any others that are recent LE, GC or other great finds?

This one I expected to be similar to Parlement of Foules, but it's surprisingly different. Parlement of Foules is soft and delicate roses and resins, while Love Lay Upon Her Eyes is loud rose, intense amber and there's nothing subtle about it. This is far richer and more complex than the two notes would indicate, but sadly, the rose in Love Lay Upon Her Eyes is TOO strong, and the subtlety that is usually amber on me is closer to a spicy-cinnamon-amber. Overall it's still pretty, but it's a cold-weather scent, not a spring scent, and it's way too overpowering to do anything coyly *

This one is different Wet it is kind of a cross between wisteria and cherry blossoms On my skin, wet - it does give a powdery purple impression, but it quickly gives way to a fruity cherry note with a sweet undertone On my skin, dry - all powder fades away, replaced with a subtle cherry note, a thin layer of honey and a crisp, bright white lily It's lovely!

Braving the Ice Gotta say: the artwork is adorable! Octopus on ice, helping a turquoise tressed steampunk girl? too cute! In the bottle: Minty sugar On my Skin, Wet: I get a prominent sugar note, then it starts to turn waxy and artificial On my Skin, Dry: yeah... the waxy, artificial note sticks around, and I get nothing reminiscent of cookies, mint, pomegranate or even sugar. Verdict: I'll give this a try in a scent locket, but it sadly does not appear that it will work out on the pulse points

Skadi 2013 First and foremost: THANK YOU BPAL FOR OFFERING THIS ONE!!!! In the Bottle: Evergreens and Coldness On my Skin, Wet: Evergreens, Cold Rain, Snow and just a teeny tiny bit of fruit On my Skin, Dry: Evergreens, and Snow with a 'Windy' feel/impression Verdict: I am so excited to have this one - the legendary Skadi It's winter, encapsulated.

Eldritch Dark In the Bottle: Heavy Leather and Dirty Musks On My Skin, Wet: (ha!) A blast of leather, dirty musk and sweet....resin? rose? something delicious.... On my Skin, Dry: The leather subsides, the dirty-ness of the musk vanishes, but leaves behind the potency of the red musk, and a gorgeous resin-y sugared rose blooms Verdict: this is glorious! I'm trying to decide if I can afford a backup bottle of this - oh, budget, why must you taunt me so?!
-
In the bottle: Quite strong berry note On my Skin, Wet: Still very berry, but there's also a dirty mint note On my Skin, Dry: Dirty minty fruits Verdict: Not sure - it's by no means a 'bad' scent, but it's not what I was looking for either...
