    Cushing Manor Atmosphere Spray

Another spot-on spray- it's no accident these are called "atmosphere" sprays, because this perfectly evokes the atmosphere of the genteel turn of the century manor in my mind. I can smell spicy woods, a blend of the carnation and bay rum, and a hint of whiskey, all melded together into a rich warm scent. I want to live here! Just gorgeous!

    Lucille's Room Atmosphere Spray

I keep saying that I'm not a "floral person" but I'm going to have to use a different way to phrase that. I tend to think of floral as light, sharp, soapy, and mostly headache-inducing. Lucille's room is none of these! Dark lovely perfumed florals are my jam! I want to wear this as a perfume. My review will be mostly worthless because I can't describe the notes, but the feeling of this spray is so evocative of what I imagined. Such an old world genteel lady's room, fading sadly into a hint of decay and madness around her. A little goes a long way and it's very long lasting. I'm going to use this in my Forbidden Brides locket, which is usually reserved for Lucy in Darkness. I LOVE THIS MASTERPIECE!

    Boo Hair Gloss

Eerie billows of spun sugar, fluttering white cotton, and sheets of cream. I have bottles of Boo perfume and bath oil so I had to get the matching hair gloss, of course! This will sound like blasphemy, but I have more of a like/meh relationship with Boo, though. It's a scent I wear not because I love it, but because it's acceptable in public situations where I need an inoffensive neutral scent. That doesn't fit with most Boo lovers, but it works for me. So... the hair gloss is definitely long-lasting in my hair, which is always a good thing to me. I get more of a clean cotton/linen scent from Boo hair gloss than any other note, which is consistent with how the perfume smells on me. The bath oil gives me a bit more of the vanilla cream note than the hair gloss or perfume, so wearing them all together makes the perfect combination. I get absolutely zero caramel or brown sugar from this, just a nice clean cotton with a hint of vanilla cream. I'm glad that the Post brought the hair gloss back this year because I skipped it last year. Now my Boo collection is complete.

The Hall's Foyer at Dusk Atmosphere Spray

This scent is so perfect! Sinister but not off-putting. I sprayed some in a small spot on my shower curtain, and I can't stop sniffing the air! It has good waft. It smells dusty and cold and I also thought I detected a hint of dragon's blood, This reminds me a little of a BPAL perfume I have tried, but I can't quite figure it out. In any case, I am enjoying this one and might upgrade my decant to a bottle.

    The Elevator Atmosphere Spray

Very metallic and sharp, with a bit of blood musk. The combination reminds me of the past Yule atmo Scrooge's Apartments. I checked my review of that one and described it as having a metallic note as if I could smell Marley's chains, so my memory is correct. This is very evocative of riding through that old dusty decaying house in the elevator! I love the way that Beth and Ted create such non-traditional room scents, and enjoy being able to evoke different moods in each area of my home.

    Edith Awakes Atmosphere Spray

This is all the jasmine! And now I know that I don't really care for jasmine in the air or on my skin. Those who love jasmine should snatch this one up because I can see how it would be beautiful for them. It's very heady and elegant, and I truly wish I liked the scent of jasmine.

    A Shadow In The Elevator

Gahhhh this is so gorgeous! In the decant I initially smelled vetiver, but once applied this becomes a smooth and slinky scent. I understand why this is referred to as cashmere patchouli because it is truly soft feeling but warm. After a short while on my skin, the plum and oudh come out to play. I adore all of these notes, and this is blending them in a new way. This shadow is wafting around me, now a hint of patchouli, now plum, now oudh, each note playing off the others summoning me towards the darkness. Definitely upgrading this decant to a bottle in my next order!

    Indulgence

I can't figure this one out at all. Based on the notes, I would have expected something much stronger, but that is not the case. I can't pick out a single note, but together they make a dark and stony scent. I agree with Absinthetics that this is like black marble, and not a green scent. But after about 30 minutes on my skin, it's more warmed and not a wet marble. I wouldn't turn to this often enough to upgrade my decant to a bottle, but I'm glad that I got a chance to try this!

    Ad Montes Oculos Levavi

This has notes that I love, so I had high hopes. On my skin, the teakwood is noticeable and the blood musk gives it a slightly spicy tinge. It is exactly as I had hoped, although my skin tends to eat it up. After an hour I can barely smell it. I really want to upgrade my decant of this to a bottle, but I will have to test it again. If it continues to fade so quickly on my skin, I will be disappointed because it's so perfect in every other way.

    Crimson Peak

I am not a big fan of snow or mint scents, but there is no way I could skip smelling and trying THE namesake perfume of this series, so I got a decant rather than my usual "go for broke" blind bottle buys. Initially on my skin the snow is the dominant note, but it's not at all sharp the way some (most) of Beth's snow notes hit my nose. Snow White is headache-inducing on me and I can't wear it at all, and the Lick It scents also don't work on my skin. But this is softly falling snow, slightly minty, cold but not "freezing my brain" cold. There is a hint of something earthy, but there is no prominent earth, clay, or wood that I can detect. Definitely no scent of decay. In my mind, I had imagined the blood-red clay as including a blood note, and the decay as including a dirt note, notes which I love along with wood, but I really don't get them at all from this. It's very well-blended but remains snow-dominant throughout the wearing. After 30 minutes, this has dried down to a lovely soft mint on my skin. I'm now waffling over upgrading to a bottle. The only wintry snow blend I have is Skadi, which I actually loved enough to buy a backup bottle. This is different enough to give me an alternative, and I might even try this as a sleep blend.

    Edith Cushing

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind: pearlescent vanilla musk with white sandalwood, grey amber, white patchouli, ambrette seed, and oudh. Sweet vanilla, soft and gentle, and pretty. I only wish it didn't disappear so quickly on my skin.

    Lady Lucille Sharpe

I took a chance on Lucille because of the darkness in the character, even though I usually avoid florals. But dark amber and plum musk are notes I love, and I was hoping that faded roses would mean the kind of rose I've had success with before, as in Crypt Queen and OLLA Eve. Lucille does not disappoint! This is a darkly pretty floral, and I can see how it reflects her character so well. While it does smell of soft dried roses more than anything else on my skin, it is a beautiful dark fruity floral. Not my usual kind of scent, but that's also what I said about the OLLA June 23, 1868 and I have backups of it! So this is another great floral even for those who don't normally wear florals.

    Sir Thomas Sharpe

This is gorgeous! A dark fougere due to the amber. Lavender dominates the fougere at first sniff and upon application, with a hint of sweetness to this blend, but not a sharp lavender. Then the amber comes out to play and sticks around. This is not too masculine at all, and I will wear the heck out of my bottle.

    Palmyra

I am also surprised at Palmyra, in a really good way! Frankincense tends to amp on me, and like stellamaris I was expecting more of a resinous blast from this perfume. But this resin is soft, gentle, with a hint of sorrow. This is a great scent for those who wish they could wear leather but can't. For those who fear cinnamon, I detect no burn here. It's so well-blended that none of the notes speak out individually, but they are melded into a gorgeous cozy resin. This is a warm fleece blanket on my lap, with my kitty purring softly as she lays on on top of the blanket. Beth has once again created a beautiful scent for a wonderful cause! But this, everyone!

    Pure Applesauce

I love this! I've been on a search for apple scents recently, and this does not disappoint. The scent is primarily applesauce on me, but the tobacco and tea give it a depth that I enjoy. A great scent for a great cause! It goes great with the Honeyed Apple bath oil and the NYCC Red Apple hair gloss.

    Zombie Moon Atmosphere Spray

Oh dear- Zombie Moon I wanted to love you, but you are making me gag. I sprayed some in a spot near where I am sitting, and it is URINAL CAKE MOON! An hour later, I gave up and tried to cover the smell with something else that I thought would be strong enough to work, The Demon's School, and Zombie Moon Urinal Cake is bleeding through. Major fail, this one. Please fade away soon!

    Pumpkin Cheesecake Bath Oil (2015)

OH MY! I only ordered a mini- decant of this because I usually avoid creamy scents, but I adore pumpkin so I had to at least try this. This is as the name says- the cheesecake and especially the cream cheese frosting are spot-on perfection. This is a very foody scent, and reminiscent of carrot cake in it's mild spice, rather than the overly spicy typical pumpkin scents we get. I NEED A BOTTLE STAT!

    Chocolate Pumpkin Bath Oil

I got a mini decant of this because I love all of the pumpkin things and needed to at least try this, but my husband hates chocolate scents and I use all of my bath oils as moisturizers, so there's no sneaking them past him, I gave up trying after he complained about Pumpkin S'mores bath oil and my beloved Red Velvet Truffle. On my hands, this is all chocolate at first, so that seals it for me not buying a bottle. . Bliss is the only chocolate scent that was too cloying even for me, and I had to wash it off. So I was a bit worried at first that this might be the same kind of chocolate. Fortunately, this is more like cocoa and the pumpkin kicks into the blend very quickly. This is pumpkin hot cocoa, not a heavily pumpkin spiced drink, but cocoa with a hint of pumpkin. I like this a lot. Curse you, husband's nose.

    Blood Moon Full Lunar Eclipse

Sniffed in the bottle, and upon initial application on skin, I get strong pomegranate. It is quickly followed by the red musk. The woods, pepper, frank and myrrh are well blended and meld into the pom and musk, grounding them and making this a gorgeous dark red blend. Although they don't share many notes other than the pom and black pepper, this reminds me of a non-patchouli version of my beloved Crypt Queen. It's not the same, but has a similar feel that makes me happy. I rarely buy or wear lunacy blends, so I'm thrilled to have found one that I can really love and enjoy.

    What Scent Is This?

Ah-hah, thank you! It has to be the July 2007 after reading those notes. /makes note on cap label 13 July 2007 has a pink label with green 13. 13 June 2008 has a green label with a pink 13. http://www.bpal.org/topic/37412-what-do-bottles-and-labels-look-like/page-111?do=findComment&comment=2430239 Also, twilighteyes has an amazing Flickr with tons of beautiful pictures of bottles and labels. She has them set up into many sets, but here is the link to 13 June 2008. https://www.flickr.com/photos/miss_twilight/2780192722/in/album-72157606843865390/

    The Witches

I love the Lab's pumpkin scents and have amassed quite a collection of them. The only pumpkin scent I ever had trouble with was The Shattered Pumpkin, which was just too vegetal and sour for me. The Witches should be exactly what I love from the Lab. But on my skin, it amps into a cumin-like scent, which does not smell good on me. I'm disappointed that I get none of the pumpkin cream, honey, or vanilla on its own. But I have found that if I layer The Witches with something else containing bourbon vanilla or spicy pumpkin, then I can wear it, so I'm keeping my bottle.

Dead Leaves, Red Musk & Neroli Hair Gloss

I love this! I'm a huge fan of the Lab's dead leaves note, and last year's Autumn Leaves and Haitian Patchouli is one of my favorite hair glosses. I wore it so much last autumn and this one, even though I have so many other glosses. Dead Leaves, Red Musk,& Neroli is another gorgeous autumnal scent. The red musk sweetens the leaves and it smells so good on my hair that I keep huffing the ends that can barely reach my nose. I can't identify the neroli, and I usually don't care for citrus, so it must be well-blended into this. I love having a sweeter alternative to my Autumn Leaves/Haitian Patchouli. Another wonderful hair gloss scent from the Weenie collection! We all already know how wonderful the glosses are for our hair.
  23. I'm going to a pagan wedding being held in a cemetery on Halloween night, so although I won't be wearing a costume, the occasion itself is calling out for me to wear Samhain. Maybe layered with a hint of Graveyard Dirt.

    Meus Amor Aeternus

I bought a bottle of this scent because I adore Lilith Victoria, and need another bedtime blend with Snake Oil and Dorian. Need, I tell you! I wore this last night. In the bottle, this is reminiscent of LV without the lavender. At first application, I can smell the Snake Oil, but as it dries down I get hints of the Dorian too. When dry, the sweetness comes forward from the cotton candy, followed by the slight spice of carnation. This is a gorgeous scent, but has much less throw than LV and also wears off more quickly. I didn't detect remnants of it on my wrist this morning. However, that is not a problem for me, as I plan to keep this one for bedtime use. Although I can't help but compare this to LV, I love the fact that LV was Beth's ode to infant Lilith. This scent definitely reflects Lilith's personality as she grows up before our eyes. I love it, and the label is one of my favorite pictures of Lilith.

Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vanilla, and Myrrh

Another stunning perfume with Beth's leaf note. This time, the leaves are very well-blended into the vanilla and myrrh, and don't stand out as sharp at all, making this less of a strictly autumnal scent on my skin. The vanilla and myrrh are prominent and comforting, and this is very much a cozy sweater-wearing scent. I'm thrilled that I got a bottle of this, as I can see wearing this one throughout the winter instead of just in autumn.
