    Crêpe Aux Fraises

Ordered : TPP Decant circle Imp: Strawberry Jelly Skin: Fantastic. Sweet, fruity, creamy, zippy. It's exactly as advertised. In contrast to Où Sont les Jouets S’il Vous Plaît, this is bold and that orange zest addition just makes it incredible and something special. Dry: This one veers a bit soap-like for me, and then billows away into the ether. Just kind of a dud for me. Verdict: BEAUTIFUL scent that was short lived.

    First Morning in Paris

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: ... Body odor? Like bad foot funk Skin: Does not get better! This is shockingly disturbing to my nose. Oh no. Dry: Ok, finally settles down a bit more. I'm not 100% confident in what oudh alone smells like, but I've had it in other blends and am gaining a feel for it. I THINK the combo of this scent is giving me the wet-old-shoe smell. Underneath that is a lovely lovely woody incense-y glorious perfume. But I can NOT get over the sour-strange top note. I'm confident it's a bitter lavender + some heady musk-type thing that's just reading so so wrong in my brain. This one threw my nose for a loop. WHEW that's a weird combo to me. Verdict: 5$ walmart flats... six months later, worn every day.

    La Joconde

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: SUPER uplifting gentle citrus blend Skin: Surprisingly subtle and gentle on me. It's happy and light, but not exactly zippy. Really smooth and mellow considering the listed notes. Almost feels vanilla-y to me, must just be the sage and musk? Dry: Continues to be surprisingly creamy. Not super strong through after about an hour, just a soft gentle skin-scent for me. A little bit floral-esq/incense which I'm thinking is all white musk. Verdict: White Musk skin-scent. Lovely in it's own right, but not what I expected.

    A Balmy 26 Degrees

Ordered : TPP Decant circle Sniff: Herbal lemon. Yummers! Skin: Love this sweet lemon, combined with a watery-clean backbone. This reminds me a lot of Phobos! Which is quite a happy surprise. A bit more herbal and complicated than Phobos. Dry: The spa-side of this scent is the most differing aspect from Phobos. It's more musky, clean, but really pretty and bright. Fitting! Verdict: A cleaner, floral/mint-edged Phobos

    Die Jungfrau

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Extra herbal lavender. Soothing as always. Skin: Thyme comes across heavy in this blend. Thyme & Moss become center stage. Still calming, but extremely herbal. Dry: Surprise! Lemon pops out later on and sweetens this herbal blend up. How yummy! Still thyme heavy, so it's an interesting herbal combo. Verdict: Unique Lemon-Thyme blend, herbal, soothing, and different.

    Hello, Salzburg!

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Plum and berry! Skin: Potent! Musky amber. The Plum is mostly spice musk with a hint of purple fruit. Blackberry and icy air adds a really ... sour? element to this. Comes across like those Japanese sour plum candies? Has a bite to it, but still sweet and musky. Dry: Really sweetens and deepens as it sits. Very lovely. Is a bit heavy on the musky side of amber for me personally, but it's nice.

    The Hohenzollern Crypt

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Dusty citrus Skin: Sort of lackluster citrus Dry: After about three hours this is really all just tobacco incense. I was really disappointed by how quickly the other bright notes just vanished on me. I love citrus and lavender! I was really hoping it would stay in that family. Instead I believe the tobacco took over, but was still tempered by the herbal notes and just kind of compromised inbetween. Which isn't winning for anyone. Dud for me, I was so excited for this one too

    Bears of Berlin

Ordered: TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Edible sweet delicious honey Skin: Super heady honey. Dry: brown sugar and honey. Really thick, sweet, and foody. I never really got any other notes - just a sort of general fuzzy/musky/foody thing with HONEY globbed ontop. For me this didn't last over three hours with any throw. After 3 it's just a faint skin-scent of caramelized honey, if that's a thing.

    Lilith’s First Icicle

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Eck. Ozone-floral-perfume-of-death Skin: SO CLEAN. MUCH WOW. Dry: Yep just not a scent for me. Clean clean clean. Verdict : I learned snowdrop smells clean, today. And is not for me.

    Mommy’s Little MI6 Agent

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Sniff: Shango! Skin: Deep heady fruit. Dry: Uck gets a sort of funk on me. Amber? Unfortunately a no go. I didn't the ... chlorine/cyanide approach but I definitely got a strange heady fruit-amber funk. Not sure how to better describe that one. Verdict: Oddball.

    Lilith De Milo

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Imp: Almondy coconut Skin: It's weird, the cream come across almond to me. It's light and liquidy. It makes me think of coconut milk. This is a VERY similar scent, I've smelled something else exactly like this before. I'm going to get a headache trying to remember. I cheated and read other reviews - Obatala! That's it. I tried that scent out in my early years of BPAL and already forgotten. Dry: Reminds me of Telesto a bit as well. It's almost a classic BPAL combo now of watery cream. Scents are often associated with colors (I'm too inconsistent to use it as a sorting tool though) - but this comes across as remarkably "White". Pearl, marbled, cream. Something in it gives me a kind of nauseous head-ache thing. And I've felt this way before with almond-esq cream scents like this. WEIRD. It smells lovely though. (Edit) LATE drydown: late late late it turns into a very very creamy beautiful soft scent. Vanilla + Sandalwood never fails to cream up and stick around. Verdict: Liquidated statue essence. Creamy almond coconut.

    Le Carrousel de Montmartre Paris

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Imp:Uh. Fruity amber? Kind of heady fruit Skin: FRUIT. Pops out strong from a muddy background. Give it a beat and the apple billows out. It smells almost autumnal, which I didn't expect. Kind of comes across like fresh fallen leaves? Not dead and crunchy, just dropped with dew or rain on them. Dry: This is lovely. Gentle apple with a really well blended background. This one is hard for me to dissect notes from ; it's just right. Gentle, golden, deep. Relaxing. That autumnal quality hangs around. It starts to go a tad faint on me, but becomes a sort of pleasant background scent. Would be a great daily scent to wear to work around more sensitive coworkers I think. (edit) LATE drydown - morphs to a more musty perfume scent, which I believe is all amber. That part is not my fav, so it will not be getting a spot on my shelf after all. Verdict: Take a nice long look at the source picture - This scent is perfect for it. Light hearted, joyful, happy, fruity - With a rainy autumn backdrop (well I'm in the midwest - that's MY autumn in the background lol). Shelf Location: This would get plopped somewhere between Sugar Plum Fairy v3 and Samhain in my collection.

    Yuletide at Heathrow

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Imp: Herbal, bright, light. Skin: pine? Weird. It's not actually pine but gives me that feel. I think the snow-element has an herbal ozone impact that makes me think of... well outside right now. Snow covered pines. Dry: I was hoping plum would take a larger front in this, but that was just me. This is a strong ozone + herbal blend. The fruit notes aren't fruity, and just add to the overall vibe . When you look at that tree in the picture though? This is perfect. Electric and festive. Verdict: Snow-covered electric tree, as advertised! Trust the pictures, not the scent list

    Zonked in Paris

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Imp: Espresso and sugar. Omg I didn't have coffee today, I want this now. Skin: Have you ever had those coffee hard candies? Like, coffee and cream sugar. smells like those. Very sweet (for a coffee) and very strong. Dry: It's almost patcholi-esq. Like a patchouli incense backing on drydown. I'm fascinated by this so I came to read other reviews? Other's are saying cashmere, musk, or chicory. Very interesting! It's most certainly musky, warm, comforting. It reminds me of my favorite part of deep patchouli's but without the dirt. I LOVE this. The sweet sugar coffee from earlier is just 100% gone. But what's left is like remnant coffee grinds and sweat with cream. Sounds gross but it's amazing. Verdict: Love it. Sexy barista after a long shift. Shelf Location: Would put right next to tar, tobacco, patchouli, dark musk, and black vanilla blends.

    Beware: Pickpockets!

Ordered : TPP Decant Circle Imp: Gobo! I've got you in my collection already sir ;). You're like, one of my fav scents of all time. Skin: I am freaking out that this smells like Gobo even on skin. What the heck man. Why is this creamy on me? I swear it smells like a Gobo 100% dupe. I'm going to have to wear one on each wrist to remind my brain how scents should work. Dry: Peppermint made itself a bit more known, and takes a tiny step away from my favorite Fraggle. This is reminding me HARD of my Lick It Softly. Just a little easier on the peppermint. I didn't get much grapefruit outright - just a sort of mingled citrus zip which is fine by me (exactly the same as my purple-haired friend). Most certainly crunchy sugar. Verdict: LOVE. I mean, it's Gobo wearing Lick It Softly for the winter season. And Gobo, Sir, Lick It Softly is the scent MADE for you. Please continue wearing. Gonna stockpile this baby since it's actually cheaper than Gobo *cough* and smells just a hair better.

    Lick It Softly

I've mentioned this scent way too many times in the past few days not to have a review posted. I'm surprised I haven't. So I collect the Lick It scents (sad not to see one this year) and that's absolutely because of THIS version of Lick It. This one is of course peppermint - but then the drydown is all beautiful vanilla cream that just hangs around on me for days. I could die for it. It's soft, delicate, minty, sugary, I just adore it. I still wear it every so often, and the vanilla side of the scent is just as awesome as I remember. I just love vanilla that works and lasts, with an extra fun spark to it. In this case it's peppermint, and it's one of my favorite festive scents.

Où Sont les Jouets S’il Vous Plaît

Source: TPP Decant Circle Imp: Super light and gentle faint strawberry Skin: Freeze-dried fruit bits. It's close to the skin/not a bold scent, but at the same time really sharp and zippy. Fun. Drydown (a few hours): I thought this blend would vanish on me (as fruits are want to) - but instead the creamy aspects of this blend brought it into a soft, delicate, beautiful place. After a few hours of wear I have a gentle vanilla cream left behind, with a fruity undertone. Makes it a lovely, deceivingly innocent close-to-skin scent that's kind of intoxicating. Overwhelmingly feminine due to the fruity cream nature. As a candy-scent lover, I would not put this next to my Candy Phoenix or Bitches ❤️ Unicorns. It doesn't have the staying power, and doesn't compete at all. As a Fruit-scent lover I wouldn't put this next to my Crawdad either. The fruit took a candy-center stage on first application, but quickly switched for me. I'd consider this a vanilla cream-centered blend, that I would wedge somewhere inbetween Lick it Softly and Blueberry Sufganiyot on my shelf. It reminds me most of another brand's Crystalline-blend scents.

    Scheiterhaufen Vom Boskop Apfel

Source: TPP Decant circle Imp: sweety yummy foody, misc fruity not super identifiable. Skin: crispy well baked cinnamon with a mixed fruit edge. Drydown: Unfortunately this has the BPAL's "foody" note (i lack a better way to describe it) that goes south on me. It's usually a "caramelized" or "baked" note that goes into a strange weird place I don't like on my skin. I tend to avoid those note descriptions because of it. I had actually missed it was described as baked apples. I assumed it would be more in the Take a Knee realm of apple. Unfortunately for me it could have read caramelized bake. Funky thing overtook Verdict: Caramelized baked brown sugar with some faintly creamy fruit added in. Yummy on the right skin chemistry, I'm sure.

Oh wow, this is 100% Swiss Miss. Maybe a dark chocolate version of Swiss Miss, it's almost more realistic melty chocolate than Swiss Miss :D. It has great throw and doesn't do any weird chalky funk. Usually chocolates are a HUGE miss for me, especially from the lab. But this one is an amazing treat. Love it.

    Drops of of Amontillado

Consider this a sugared wine. I never really got out of the candy phase - there's more in there if I sniff hard and roll around, but it's all sugary grape-like wine on me. The grape didn't come across so pronounced to me - but it's fruity, sweet, winey, boozy, and SUGARED. Verdict: Adulting Sweetart. Personally love it.

    Midnight Mass

2018 Version. Wet on Skin: Lemony incense. Strong, smoky, kind of awesome. The lemony combo makes me realize this is probably frankincense and that this is probably going to go south pretty quick for me. Dry on Skin: Oh, are those wood & crayon shavings in an old metal school desk clinging to an old Lisa Frank binder? Yeah. Yeah it is. Hi Frankie - didn't miss you. Sorry not sorry. To be fair, there's more in here. A strong smokey waxy well developed profile, but it's buried way in the back of this gross AF desk and that's a no go for me today. Verdict: Frankincense wins again! Other reviews mention cedar, so maybe it's that + Frankie but it's a hard pass for me. I swear every year I try out an incense blend just to see - occasionally I have some hits. I'm surprised I've never tried this blend before now so, cross that off my list!

    Mincemeat Pie

So this one was a surprise for me! It is literally one of the last two I'm testing from a decant circle I was in, as I wasn't super excited about it but was curious. So, plenty of rest time for this little guy. Wet on skin it was ZIPPY for me. Almost like a champagne scent. Dominant apple and ginger, almost sparkly for no good reason. YUM. Drydown: The zippy fruity edge calms down, and the spices warm up for me. It's just... a perfect beauty to me. I admit I have no idea what an actual mincemeat pie smells or tastes like - I know what it is and can guess, but it's not a real thing to me (lol). So, that known, this reminds me more of an epic apple crumble. Apple is the dominant note to my nose, but I wouldn't consider this an apple-blend on my bottle shelf. This would go right next to Bengal, Calaveras, and Harvest Moon on my shelf, as it has the same big-spice well-blended feel. Verdict: HUGE surprise hit for me. Yummy bubbly apple crumble with heavy spices and extras. Autumnal/Winter goodness.

    Drop Dead Ghoulish

Expectations: Come on, apples and cream, with some sweet berry thing? This is my jam sign me the ef up. Sniff: Creamy pastry filling. Fruity sweet but with a light cream. Mmm. Skin Wet: AH APPLE! CREAM APPLE! What is this.. This reminds me of ... aaaah it's an older scent I didn't have much of or long of. Something pink and creamy, was like a drink. WHATEVER moving on. Skin drydown: While WET was this big whap of apple cream yum. It QUICKLY went... acidic? Alcohol-y? Something off. No good. I've never smelled this in a BPAL before but it smells fake plasticy chemical. Then morphs into like... bad sunblock? .. Sticking with bad chemicaly sunblock. You have no idea how devastated I am right now. I'm thinking something just isn't meshing right with me. I'm suspecting the cream? But.. I'm going to go cry now. Verdict: Skin fail. My review is useless for most. Edit: The air behind me as I walk smells like a FANTASTIC bakery of cream and sweet sugared fruits. But the air 1 foot around my arm smells like awful sunblock. The world is cruel.

    Hekate's Garden

Hopes & Dreams: Honey patch tobacoo? I'm hoping for something almost heady and engulfingly dark. Le Lethe and Banshee Beat have a baby, maybe? I'm going to be honest I'm not familiar with the original blend, but I'm just so deadly hopeful. Unsure about the wood notes in it, as they tend to amp (or maybe I just dislike them on me). Sniff: Dirty sweet black patch. Wet on Skin: Dry earthyness comes forward. Leather-esq tobacco and still that yummy patch. Drydown: A distinct woodyness makes itself at home. Followed by a slow unfurling of dark honey, until it seems like everything is settled. Late: It sort of wafts for my nose between a green earthy soil, and a heady honey-tobacco blend. I love it. It's deep and dark but soil-esq and feels sacred to me. It is patch/tobacco forward for me, both accented with a dark honey and late-summer crushed grass vibe. Reminds me of innocently sneaking off at Girls Camp into the woods at night in deep summer, with my crush, before I understood what crushes really were. ❤️ Verdict: Serious, whole, dark, earthy. It feels apt to be worn in ceremony in the garden. It feels distinctly Wiccan/Pagan and really digs into my soul. That was an unexpected side effect. I love this scent. It's grounding, calming, and absolute. I'm curious why I didn't try Ritualcravt itself now.

    Gingerbread and More Ginger

The gingerbread scents are strange on me. I have these early moments of just, too much and a weird wonk. Something similar to the pumpkin spice single note for me that makes me nervous. So far though they all mellow out and become less wonk and end up ok. They aren't stealing my heart, but they're nice. In this case, it took a good 10 minutes for the scent to mellow and get to a place that I enjoyed. Verdict: iced gingersnaps. Spiced, dry, "light" compared to normal spice scents. It doesn't have anything in it giving it rounded depth, for me? So it comes across dry and arid. But at the same time it's kind of nice. If I smelled this on someone else I'd be intrigued. This sort of "what DO I think" vibe all the gingerbreads give me. How strange.
