    Harigata II

Coconut! Delicious, creamy, fresh coconut. It's gorgeous. In the bottle: Coconut with just a hint of anise in the background. On my skin: This didn't morph on me from wet to dry. It's a beautiful and soft coconut scent. Not picking up too much else but this is so lovely, I have found my go to BPAL coconut. ETA: This has shot up my faves list. I think I can safely say it's my favorite of this year's Lupers.

    Young Pine Saplings

I took a chance on this one, wasn't sure about the clove note. Happy to report, my chance paid off. What a beautiful scent. In the bottle: I get mostly cream and ginger. Oh, how I love me some ginger! Wet on skin: This is so soft, warm and comforting. I only dabbed on a drop for testing but already feel like I've been enveloped by a warm blanket of scent. I can definitely pick out the clove now, but it's not overpowering at all. I find it sweet and gentle while the other notes create warmth. The cream, ginger and honey mesh so well together and create such a nice framework to temper the clove. Dry down: A very nice blend. About six hours after applying, I smell the clove more than anything else but find I don't mind, like I thought I might. I'm really happy with this one. It reminds me of gentleness, kindness and a fuzzy good kind of warmth. Also, as an aside, it seems to go really well with Nymphia. I'm skin testing it right now too (on my other wrist) and they smell so pretty together when I hold both wrists up to my nose at the same time. Maybe Young Pine Saplings will be nice for layering. I just know that I love it!

    TKO

Received my first bottle of this recently and find that I wish I had tried this much sooner. I'm getting sweet marshmallow with lavender in the bottle and freshly applied to my skin. The lavender mellows as it dries and it's just this gorgeous and comforting marshmallowy scent. I've applied it at bedtime three nights in a row now and it seems to work like a charm. By morning it's basically undetectable. TKO rules.

    The Phoenix in Spring

This is so fresh and uplifting. I can't honestly pick out the different floral notes but I think I'm mostly recognizing the cherry blossom. Overall, I'd describe this scent as being akin to going for a nature walk on an April morning and holding one's nose up close to newly blossomed flowers and inhaling deeply the sweet freshness of springtime. It's smooth and somehow fluffy, sweet, dewy and bright but not overly so. It makes me feel happy and calm. I really really like this one - big time.

    Woods in Winter

Beautiful in my imp. It smells just as described and seems to be the cold, green winter scent I've been looking for with this year's Yules. Just lovely. Then, it hits my skin and instantly turns to soap. Maybe I can chalk this one up to wonky skin chemistry and try it another day to see if it's better. Otherwise, this would be lovely in a scent locket.

    The Spanish Dance

First impression in bottle: Tootsie Roll Pops! There's a ton of chocolate floating around in the bottle. I shook it up before applying. Wet on skin: The chocolate is not as strong as it was smelling straight from the bottle, now the orange blossom honey is front and center. Delightful! Dry down: Not getting much of the pom, this is all orange chocolate on me and it's delicious. What I thought, from the bottle, was going to be chocolate overload isn't. It's a bright, sweet and fruity scent with chocolate. Super yum and exactly up my alley.

    The Arabian Dance

The notes in this blend are not my usual thing, but it sounded way too interesting to pass up. In the bottle I get mostly the leather, but the deeper I inhale those spices and the coffee peek out. Super interesting! Wet on skin: Leather and coffee, plus what I think is the hazelnut making it all sort of creamy. I'm not sure if I'm picking up on the tobacco or not. Dry down: This is sultry. That's the first and best word that came to my mind to describe it. It's really different from the sweeter scents I'm normally drawn to and I think that's what's making me like this. Not an everyday scent for me, but really special. Final impression is of a dark, creamy, sultry coffee and leather scent with exotic spices flitting around in the background. Really nice.

    Mother Ginger

Exquisite! Mother Ginger is beautiful. This is definitely the fresh and clear ginger note that I adore. This stayed the same from bottle to dry down on me, a perfect balance between zingy ginger and sweet. The ginger is at the forefront, bright and clean. The vanilla/sugar/marshmallow back it up with a fluffy sweetness while the nutmeg and cinnamon, which aren't that strong to me, add some warmth. It's delightful and yummy. Good throw, great lasting power. One of my faves from the this year's Yules.

    Gelt

2010 version This is so much like dry cocoa powder. It's very warm and comforting and stays true from wet to dry stage on me. I'm very glad I got a bottle. edited to add: I have been wearing this every day for almost a week now. I love it more and more. It's so comforting and warm, I think I've found my ideal BPAL chocolate scent and I adore it.

    Halloween: New Orleans

This is heart achingly beautiful to me. The lemon starts off a little sharp (which I love) and then mellows out with this gorgeous aquatic feel surrounding it. I really love this scent. Lasts a long time on me too.

    Beaver Moon 2010

This is a keeper. In the bottle: super sweet, super super sweet strawberry and peach. I can detect the cheesecake in the background when I inhale deeply. Wet on skin: I smell more strawberry than peach, it's almost like I can smell the stickiness of the glaze. Cheesecake hanging around in the back keeping this from going too sweet. Dry: This went through a teenie plasticky spell, but that went away after this dried and now it's a creamy strawberry/peach cheescake. Pretty much true to its description and really yummy.

    Licorice Bats

Black licorice and cocoa. It's straightforward and divine. I don't usually even like black licorice but this one piqued my interest for some reason and I'm so glad I went for it and ordered a bottle. I LOVE the licorice note and the cocoa makes is so soft and smooth. This is probably my favorite of all the weenies thus far.

    Slaugh

I inhaled deeply straight from the bottle and got lots of my beloved sassafras. On my skin it's a dry sassafrassy scent. The other notes make it seem earthy to me, it's quite nice and comforting. It has great throw and staying power. Overall, a great addition to my sassafras obsession.

    Ginger Skulls

Ginger Skulls is a winner. Lots of throw and staying power on me. In the bottle I get the zingy ginger and a fruitiness. I'm not totally sure what quince should smell like but I definitely detect it and the Asian Pear. On my skin it becomes fruitier and pretty much stays that way. The ginger sort of hangs out in the background, it's not totally overshadowed but isn't the strongest note on my skin. Really pretty scent, really happy to have a bottle.

    Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple

Are you kidding me? Is this really THIS good? Why, YES, it is! This oil is amazing. Crisp, tart apples covered in sugary, buttery goodness. It smells like a caramel covered apple and I am in serious love with it.

    Sugar Skull

Whoa! Potent. This is super strong and boozey to me. I can definitely smell the candied fruits but the overriding note is the super strong brown sugar smell. It's pretty but way too strong for my taste....like, whoa!, strong.

    Punkie Night

Bright, fresh, crisp apples!!! This is so lovely. The tartness of the cranberries swirls around in the back, but it's mostly apples on me. It seems to stay fairly close to my skin though - or my skin is just eating this up. I wish it had more throw. But really pretty!

    Halloween: San Francisco

I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and lived in the city proper for a few years before moving out to the midwest. I was so excited for this scent because SF is my most favorite city that I've ever experienced. It will always be like home to me and I've missed it madly over the years. Beth did something really extraordinary here. In the imp I get an aquatic and if I inhale deeply enough I can smell the salt water of the Bay. I don't get too much in the way of leaves with this, which is fine with me. What I do get is the sea air, the SF Bay air that I miss and relish in this scent. On my skin I can close my eyes and inhale and imagine stepping out from the underground BART stations and into the SF air. It's like standing next to the Bay with the glorious fog rolling in and the ocean breeze wafting the sea air over me. I adore this. Thanks to Beth! You made me tear up emotionally with this one.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

Soft, sweet. Can really pick out the sweet pea, which is lovely. The sandalwood creates a very smooth base. Alas, sandalwood always makes me feel weird. Something about it turns me off. Otherwise, really lovely scent but just not for me.

    Eau de Pooch

You can count me among those who would love the scent of her dog bottled. My late dog smelled of warmth, golden and comforting. It's one of the things I miss most about her and if it could be bottled, oh, I'd buy it up.

    Candy Phoenix

Wow...really pretty and yummy smelling. It's tart but sweet. I can pick out the currant, pear and sugar. Nice throw, kept getting wafts of it all day and it was divine.

    Cobra Lily

On me this is quite soft, which I wasn't really expecting. It's a sweet, bright floral which reminds me of lotus. Stays close to the skin and seems to fade fairly quick. I think it's really very pretty.

    Cicuta

Beautiful!! I promptly ordered a bottle after testing my decant. I think I can detect each and every note in this. The rose really does smell dry and dusty - very pretty. The frankincense and saffron make it seem exotic while the candle smoke rounds it all out into a soft and romantic scent. I adore it.

    Silenti

Hmm...very floral, can detect the myrrh. I like it but it's pretty strong on me - to the point where it's almost too much. I'll have to try it again in a smaller dose.

    Sachs

First impression is that this reminds me of Great Grey Witch. It's the Roman Chamomile that they have in common. It's feathery and light and beautiful. The vanillas lend Sachs a lovely creaminess that is sweet but not overpowering. Stays close to my skin and fades after about a half hour. So very lovely but I'd have to continually slather. Will stick with my decant for now.
