  1. Cant believe

Ive never tested this before. Or if I did, it didnt smell like this! Thankfully with changing body chemistry (menopause) I think I can wear some of these notes!

This is sweet, lovely, and feminine. I honestly dont normally like scents with that description. A keeper for sure.

  2. Really complex and strong, sweet aquatic and herbal. Something is amping and taking away the complexity again. This happens to me so often, its frustrating. In a few minutes after applying, the sweet aquatic and fake evergreen scents are whats left, faintly. Would love to smell this if it was made with pure essential oils.

  3. WOWEEEE! This is one of those amazingly complex, expertly blended scents that I love. Everything comes through in a balanced way. Its rich and complex, not like the typical boozy scents I've smelled. Also the tobacco and rose, both which can turn bad on me, are perfect! The tobacco is trying to amp a bit though, as usual.

On me, the gin, whiskey, and rose petals are forefront, but the sweetness of the vanilla makes it luscious - The leather is there, but in the background supporting these other smells. I am testing this over a year after it was decanted, and Im glad for it. This may need to go on my wishlist as needing a bottle. No other BPAL I've tested has this mix.

VERDICT - A terribly sexy scent I want to wear to the kink club

  4. Oy vey. Its funk. Thats all I keep thinking as it wafts up to my nose. The faun smells like funk :P The honey musk and 2ndary leaves completely amps over the fir needle...so sad...it could have been lovely.

  5. This smells good. Another winner in the vein of Silver Phoenix for me. The Apple doesnt amp like it usually does, which is such a pleasant change. The notes that made me get this decant were the white musk, angelica, and violet leaf, so I think they are what really make it a winner for me too. The fresh airiness makes me wish for a bottle.

  6. VERY lemony, rosemary, herbal - reminds me of kitchen herbs. Its interesting and Ive been waiting to try this with high hopes, but its not wearable - an atmo spray would be REALLY nice though! Especially for winter when things get stuffy!

  7. Im seriously excited by my changing skin chemistry - this is part of getting older that I dont mind at all, and means I get to re-test alllllll the BPALs from when I first started testing...Coyote never smelled good on me...I decided to retest tonight...its beautiful, soft, warm, spicy. The softness and gentle quality is perfect. I need a bottle.

  8. I wanted to not like this because wet, it smelled like sweet berries. But dry, the green herbal quality rivals the berry scent, and it is [huffing arm again] something I could see wanting to try again. Keeping my imp! Would be lovely as an atmo spray!

I've been toying with the idea of a post-holiday regifting swap.  Would anyone be interested in such a thing?  Idea is to be very simple and fun, maybe even a shade towards white elephant.  Essentially, each person would send one item that's either a.) a regift from the holiday season or b.) made with a gift (so if you got baking pans, for example, you could send cookies; craft supplies, make something simple; etc.).

I like this. Its simple. The Spring Cleaning swap almost always backfires on me...and I get a box of things I need to giveaway, but this sounds like it could be doable.

I also am planning on making a creative swap for January - I have a lot of bottled up creative energy.  Im thinking a matchbox shrine or a very special decorated box.

That really sucks. I'm sorry. :(

We think that the posting access issue in this subforum is fixed - unfortunately, many of the modifications that we were used to before the upgrade are things that the Admin team has to work through on a case by case basis so it's not until someone experiences the issue that we know it's there.

Since the holidays are such an active time for circular swaps, I strongly suggest that organizers draft their text off-forum in a savable format (a word document, even a draft email) so that if we run into issues, all of your work isn't lost just in case.

Amazingly enough, I dont know how it happened, but when I was able to login  tonight, and went to submit my swap for approval, the entire text of it was sitting there waiting for me! Im flummoxed and feel a bit bad for being irritated.

Anyway, the Old Fashioned Yule Elf swap is awaiting approval!
