In the bottle, this is just butterscotch. Delicious, but foody sweet cloying. On drydown, this gets all dirty leather. I was sort of surprised. But then it mellows out to this totally amazing warm sweet leather awesomeness. A lot like Misk U on my skin. i was worried about the anise seed but i don't get black licorice at all on my skin.

This is dirty (nonwood) smoke and leather. I do get wax eventually, but it takes forever. I can't imagine what I could layer this with that would make me need it.

I love this. It's warm and wonderful and unexpected. Porridge porridge porridge. I am not getting the buttery raisiny that others describe, but I'd like that too, if I were to get a bottle and it turned out to be more that direction. I think I need this.

I love this. I received a half decant and adored it, so I ordered a bottle. I love the bottle as much as the decant, and that doesn't always follow the way you'd think. It's the same perfect sweet that Ronin is on my skin. An almost marshmallow honey musk. Gentle and velvety. The tobacco gives it that tiny bit of incense that everything has on my skin anyway. I just love it. I should have ordered five bottles.

I think that I'm in love. Sweet and rich and not foodie. I theoretically don't like coconut but it's lovely. I just love it.

BPAL lists these ingredients -- acorns, oak leaves, oak bark, and oak sap rising through a mist of traditional lunar oils. If you have seasonal allergies, like to trees, you might have a problem with the tree components. I know I have problems with Apatrophia and Coyote and both have tree components. Hay Moon also has an allergy note in my spreadsheet, but that's a lunar, so it doesn't help eliminate lunar oils as the problem component. But I have about a dozen lunars and that is the only one that has an allergy note.

For me it was tea scents, but that was pregnancy nausea not chemo. :hug:s to you and best wishes for a full recovery.

I was going to say White Rabbit, too! Also, The Soldier is very tea and cream (but also leather) in the bottle -- my skin turns it to root beer LOL. Theodosius is earl gray and vanilla but not cream. Severin has earl grey, too, but is not sweet at all. Also, if people have Dorian CTs, I've had a couple I love love love.

Initially, this has a distinctly citrus jump out that isn't in the listed notes. I get coffee and tobacco notes that are similar to Misk U right away. As it mellows into my skin, I get the tiniest touch of floral if I stick my nose right in it, but what it projects is the spiciness of the carnation, which I wouldn't identify as carnation on my own. I also get musk, which must be the boiled leather -- my skin turns lots of things to musk. This is a subtle, less sweet sister to Misk U on my skin.

first, a rush of citrusy grapefruit, and then a semi familiar men's cologne, and then it all just goes to musk. I feel like I'm reviewing a totally different perfume than everyone else here.

so, this is great. Like, really great. I didn't expect to love it from the description, but thought I might like it. In the bottle it is SO SHARP and green that I shied away from testing it, even. On my skin, it goes through a muddy few minutes before the clove comes out all gross. But all that is over in a flash and it settles into something really nice, a dark, rich musk, dirty patchouli, and warm, sweet vanilla. K says this smells like a specific pipe tobacco, but in a good way.

This smells very apple when it is wet. On my skin, it goes sort of soapy flat. I still get the edge of something sort of apple, but today, testing it against Autumn Cider, I lose the sense of apple and get more of a carnation tea. I had high hopes for the champaca and while it is there, the carnation is ruining it for me.

I couldn't convince any one else to try this with me, but I ordered a bottle anyway. In the bottle, it is a Disney Christmas -- cotton candy and pine. Wet, i get a touch of flowers through the green, but *flowers* not *floral* if that makes sense. On my skin, there are no flowers, the pine steps back and the cotton candy goes full force. I tested this yesterday and it is still very apparent today, so test with caution, this one lingers! My high school girls would have been begging me for this one for sure. 7/10 edited to add: for the poster who smells the strawberry shortcake dolls, that happens to me a lot with sweet bpals, but it always goes away when the oil ages. some of my favourites (lawn gnome, i'm looking at you!) have 'strawberry shortcake doll" in the initial notes on my spreadsheet.

I will be back to edit this once I have a proper skin test, but straight from the bottle, I love this. It is dirty hippie barn sex rolled in chocolate. There is a touch of sweetness that I didn't expect, since I thought the cocoa was going to be bitter. From the bottle, I don't get pepper at all, but that usually comes out on my skin rather than in the bottle. Mine separated dramatically in the bottle, just like 13. Be sure that you roll this one before testing!

In the bottle, this is pure, sweet cider. It actually made me thirsty decanting it! The bit I tested went a little waxy and of course I amped the cinnamon, but there's not much for cinnamon to begin with so that's not terrible. It's still sweet apple and my son, without knowing what it was, identified it as "hot apple cider." My husband said "sweet, and cinnamon, but not bakery." and when I told him to think apples said "oh, of course." eta: Yes, the sweet is butterscotch! I see that in the description now and it fits.

in the bottle: sugary marshmallowy. Not burnt or caramelly, just vanilla marshmallow. On me: has a weird perfumey note I didn't expect. Maybe that's supposed to be the burnt part? 4 hours later, I almost cant' smell this, it's just a little marshmallow if I sniff deeply. Nick says 'just vanilla.'

Sprinklecake is very sugary sweet frosting, rich buttery vanilla cake, and almost a bit of dry chocolate. The vanilla note goes plastic on me the way all of the Lab's vanilla seems to go until it is aged, but they are all fantastic aged so I trust that in a year this will be one of my favourites.
