    Khajuraho

I should learn to avoid florals, but vanilla, honey and sandalwood called to me. I should avoid amber too. So I guess I deserved the sinus spanking I got from Khajuraho. I smell like a sweet diaper. But, I have to say that this is an interesting scent. It morphs a LOT. In the imp and on I could have sworn there was jasmine, but on me it sweetened a lot. I think thanks to the vanilla. I won't be keeping it, but it's a blend to be admired for it's complexity. Kudos, Beth!

Hot damn I smell like a chocolate covered orange and I love it! I wanna bathe in it!

    Parlement of Foules

This is the hit of the Lupercalia scents for me, unexpectedly. I never considered myself a rose person but this is truly lovely. It's definitely a soft, understated, and feminine scent. Sweet rose and woods, and resins. It seems breathy and ethereal. It's a classically romantic scent. I adore it, I picture it to be the BPAL to wear at a wedding.

    Red Lantern

I think if this didn't have the tobacco, I would love it. Honestly, anything with tobacco in it makes me smell like a pack of Marlboro Reds, something I have no desire to smell like. Every other note in this is absolutely gorgeous and it's such a sweet, sultry blend. Unfortunately, on me it turns into a sweet, sultry ashtray.

    Smut

On first application I loooved Smut! It was totally a 'go-out-and-cause-ruckus' scent. A girls' night out scent. A totally sexy and unruly scent. But all good things must come to an end, and it pulled a Sed Non Satiata on me and turned to sexy peanut butter. Damn. I'm gonna hang onto it and see if it (or me!) changes. Cause it was some HOT stuff at first.

    Kumiho

This is absolutely beautiful. It's my HG light, clean, spring scent. It's fresh white tea with the sharp tartiness of ginger and it lasts on me. There's a sweetness to it that makes it such a sparkling scent. It makes me feel pretty, feminine, and girly. I wear it on most of my dates with the person I'm seeing at the moment because of how lovely it makes me feel. Kumiho has shot up to my top ten list fast.

    Scherezade

Oh, I wanted to love this scent! I got drawn in by the hype, and I love saffron so I was really, really hoping this would be beautiful on me. Short story? It's not. I smell like a particular cheap headshop at the ghetto-ass mall I used to frequent. A friend remarked that I just smelled like sandalwood, but I can't shake the association. I don't get much saffron or sweetness or anything. I just smell like a dirty hippie.

    Black Opal

This smells very similar to Antique Lace to me, with that odd mineral note that everyone's been spotting. It's nice, and soft. A very straight-up vanilla scent. I'm starting to find though that certain vanillas, especially the one in Black Opal and Antique Lace, tend to turn to sour milk on me.

    Midnight Mass

This is the BPAL incense scent I've been looking for. It is so gorgeous. Since touring the grand cathedrals of France I've been longing for the smell of the incense that was burned when I visited. All the other beautiful incense blends (ie Cathedral, Aureus, etc) didn't quite capture the sweetness and tended to be almost all woods on me. Midnight Mass is true resin and wood, just sweet enough to ring true with my best memories. I think this is my runaway favorite of the Yules.

    Lick It

What else could possibly be more lickable at Yuletide? This is a candy cane perfume, minty, sweet and sugared. It really does smell just like a candy cane! I don't know how Beth does it! This is a lovely holiday novelty scent. It's sharp peppermint and smooth creamy vanilla on me. Like others have said, it doesn't have much staying power but leaves behind a light sweetness. It's a keeper for now!

    Tintagel

According to legend, the birthplace of King Arthur. The scent of a castle's great hall in the midst of joyous feasting. Spicy mulled wine flowing through the musky heat, warm leather and bright clash of armor, the damp branches of Cornish hawthorn, blackthorn, juniper, English elm and bayberry, and the magical tingle of dragon's blood resin. Another one down in my crusade to try all the red wine scents. Tintagel is a very cold-weather scent to me. I get warm spiced wine initially, then as it dries it gets greener with a touch of cinnamon. Unfortunately, something in this blend turns soapy on my skin so it's off to the swap bin.

    Marie

A soft, powdery floral that reminds me of grandmas and bathrooms. Florals and I are just not meant to be.

    The Red Queen

Sweet woods and cherries and currant. Yum! This is a very light, sweet smell. It was generously given to me by the lab and was high on my wishlist. I do get the occasional whiff of pencil shavings, but weirdo me likes that smell. I'll definitely use up the imp.

    Wilde

Smells like a sexy boy! There's no way around it. I like wearing it, and although it's traditionally masculine it breaks a record as being the first BPAL jasmine that doesn't turn to diaper on me! It's not something I will wear, and if I had an SO that was into BPAL or even cologne in general I'd pawn it off to him. If a guy wore this, I'd definitely hit it.

    Sugar Cookie

This actually scared me in the bottle. It smelled like butter and liquor. Like I just drank a bottle of Captain Morgan's and some of the imitation butter you put on movie theater popcorn. But on me it's a whole different story. It smells sugary and rich and very true to its name. It's sweet and stays close to my skin and in short is everything I love about foody scents.

    Gingerbread Poppet

Simply put, it's gingerbread from start to finish. Which is pretty damn quick on my skin. Ah well.

    Herr Drosselmeyer

In the bottle it's rich and sweet, definitely sweet-smelling woods. On me, it's soft, sweet pipe tobacco and wood. There's no leather that I can identify. It almost smells like licorice. I'm glad that I tried this for the novelty, but it's fitting in with the trend I've had with all my Yules, and that's that it's a beautiful, expertly blended scent but not something I want to smell like on a regular basis.

    The Cracked Bell

In the bottle this smells metallic and much like ozone. I'm not a big fan of either, but I do like incense scents. On my skin it's very light and clean smelling. I smell a resin note, the lingering ozone, and something sweeter in the backround. This scent is somewhat of an enigma considering I can't really identify the notes. However, I think that this is the first BPAL that I've tried that's been so evocative of its name. I imagine for those who like clean, fresh scents this would work out fantastic. It doesn't do anything strange on my skin, and I find it pleasant but it's not something that I will wear often.

    Snow Bunny

Oh this is so beautiful! I ordered this based on Macha's glowing review so long ago, and I'm glad I did. On me it smells like pine and candy. Something sweet and sugared in the snow. The drydown is almost identical to Dorian on my skin, which pretty much equals pure sex. This is so light, fun and girly with a distinctive winter edge, which I'm assuming is the pine.

    Sed Non Satiata

A pounding heartbeat coalesced into scent: demonic passion and brutal sexuality manifested through myrrh, red patchouli, cognac, honey, and tuberose and geranium in a breathy, panting veil over the darkest body musk. Holy WTF. It's bottled peanut butter! At least, that's what it smells like in the imp and wet. Honestly, it's not hype. It's so odd that it smells like peanut butter, but it's still SEXY. The drydown is much more what I expected, it's smooth cognac and gentle florals. I never thought I'd say that florals were yummy, but this is just gourmand enough to keep the shampoo/diaper trend that florals take on with me at bay. I really like this scent, it's warm and comforting once you get past the funky first stage.

    Loviatar

Leather and I don't really agree. The only other leather scent I've tried so far was Perversion, which smelled delicious in the imp but really made me sick to my stomach when I applied it. This doesn't make me ill, but it smells like stinky old band-aids. I don't normally go for such heavy scents, so even while it smelled better in the imp than when it was on me, it's not my type.

    Red Phoenix

I smell like total patchouli. I'm beginning to realize that patchouli and I may not get along. I wish I got more of the cassia, tonka, and plum as I adore those. I wish I even got a really spicy smell from it. But I just get patchouli. As it dries down I do smell plum, and I like this stage better. It's pretty, I'm glad I ordered a bottle and tried it, but it's not me and it's off to swaps.

    The Great Sword of War

Yummy, yummy cocoa and orange and saffron! I got this as a freebie from the lab and I'm so glad I did. I almost ordered it with my Anniversary order as an imp and they must have read my mind. I LOVE THIS SCENT! In the imp and on me wet it smells like one of those crackable chocolate oranges you can buy around the holidays. It smells lighter than I would have ever expected, a dry sweet citrus. It's sweet but when it dries the saffron gives it a playful spiciness that I love. The drydown isn't my total favorite, it's mostly tobacco and tea, tobacco generally has a knack for making me queasy a la the time I tried Perversion. But it lasts long and the beginning is so beautiful. Definitely a favorite.

    Inferno

Almonds and cinnamon, pure and simple. But when it comes to my chemistry...wait for it...OH HEY! What do you know! Plastic! Almonds always do this on me, they turn to stinky plastic on my skin. Oh well. This was a freebie from the lab and I do love it immensely in the vial, but on me it just goes the way of all almonds on my skin.

    Antique Lace

Nostalgia encapsulated. A soft, wistful blend of dry flowers, aged linens, and the faint breath of long-faded perfumes. Creamy, soft vanilla. Very innocent and sweet-smelling. It goes a little sour on me on the drydown and smells a bit like spoilt milk, but I'm keeping the imp I have because it would suit me for layering, I think. I was excited to try this scent after all the wonderful reviews, and it certainly is beautiful.
