    Does BPAL stain?

One of my new beautiful scents has dyed my wrist bright bruised skin yellow. Does anyone have any clue as to the culprit. It could be Phobos or a lightly musky chaos theory. What note might cause this? I look like I've been beaten.

    Phobos

As a teenager I bought a hand blended Lemon Verbena cologne in a beautiful huge glass bottle from a spanish village street fair. I loved it, kept it carefully and it was my signature scent for years. More than 20 years later this seems exactly the same. It's instant happiness in a bottle. This screams Lemon Verbena to me and will be my perfect summer feel good scent. The touch of lemongrass and oter notes make it far more interesting on drydown. Even better than my memories. This one will entail several hoarded bottles because I wouldn't be able to bear it being discontinued again. It may even be the scent that convinces me to slather.

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

Wet: Clean fresh grapefruit. Dry: Warm, Spicy, almost incensey Grapefruit. It smells like I would expect Sol's baby sister to be if made with grapefruit instead of Lemon

    Chaos Theory III: Strange Attractors

CLXXV (175): In the bottle: A light, pleasant., slightly soapy floral. Wet: Light sugary musk with the faintest hint of fruit. My mind says citrus but far softer than the usual suspects. A little like sitting next to a fruit bowl and getting a hint of fragrance from the skin. Dry: Stil a light sugary musk, very reminisent of Enraged Bunny with the barest smidge of an element found in TCP antiseptic, but surprisingly it works well on my skin. This has very little throw but works perfectly as a really subtle narul fragrance.

    The Ghost

I just got an imp of this in a Halloween package. In the imp: light florals Wet: light etheral white florals, slightly sweet without being cloying and a faint hint of fruit which reminds me of Titania. Drydown: A hint of the above, subtle and very natural. Very little throw. Overall I love it. This is a scent which I could wear regularly.

    Buck Moon

This is very unusual. Skin smell and light musk with grass and a hint of coconut. I usually despise coconut in all it's forms but here it seems right. It's gentle with minimal throw. I like it but have yet to decide if I love it.

    Numb

In the bottle: liquid Soap Wet: Violet Soap Drydown: Very harsh soap with Violet hints Dry: A very light almost ephemeral floral, still mainly violet, with just a hint of soapiness. This stage I quite like but it's a long time coming. I was all geared up to love this from reviews that talked about the violets, as I love them and especially in the other BPAL blends I've tried. But I just can't get passed the soap

    Moon Rose

I got this as a frimp in my last order. in the Imp: Delicate old fashioned roses Wet: A few moments of really pretty rose fragrance and then soap. Nice soap but not what I'd hoped for. Dry: Still soap but fading fast. Not for me but I'm just glad that I have Rose Red as my perfect Rose scent.

The search for the perfect Violet....

Nine Mysteries (unreleased) smells on me exactly like the old fashioned Parma Violet Candies. It's not a natural violet scent, but I like it. However I just can't wait to try Ultraviolet coming in my first actual Lab order

    Rose Red

In the bottle: This is to me, walking barefoot in a moonlit rose garden, crushing petals and grass underfoot Wet: Crushed dewy petals. An intact rose just doesn't release THIS much pure clean rose fragrance. Drydown: The delicate scent of an English country house rose garden wafted on a cool summer breeze. Dry: The intensity has diminished, It's faded and delicate but still fresh rose. This is possibly a little feminine and, dare I say Romantic,(It's the concept of all those crushed rose petals ) for me to wear everyday, but I love it. It's quite shortlived but definitely a keeper.

    Pomegranate

In the imp: smells like fruit candies, and I was a little unsure about trying it. Wet: intensely fruity Dry: it quickly becomes delicate and wonderful, almost like the smell of a small child who has been eating the fruit and immersed themselves in the juice. This is the smell you would expect after the worst of the excess has been rinsed off. ( Thankfully not in a soapy or talcy way, though) I don't usually do fruit fragrances except lemon but this is beautiful. Definitely one to keep.

    Nine Mysteries

In the bottle: This smells green and sharp and slightly astringent. I don't detect any obvious notes. No mint, nothing. Wet: It is a soft sweet floral fragrance that is annoyingly familiar but still no notes that I can identify. Dry: I now know why this is so familiar, it's violets- not perfume or even the flower but the smell of old fashioned Parma Violet sweets (candies). Exactly! as if Beth had crushed them as the base for this. Candied violets. And this is the way it stays on my skin until it fades completely Overall: This is not a fragrance I would wear all the time, but it is comforting and evocative of my childhood. One to keep for sleepless or stressful nights. EDIT: On trying it again I can now really detect the mint alongside the violet, but nothing else. Can't wait for the description.
