Snake's Tongue to me came out as a smoky vanilla cream with hints of wood. This one has great massive appeal. If you love Snake Oil, and love vanilla cream, and just ever sort of wanted to luxuriate in a creamier smokier Snake Oil, look no further. Medium throw and wear length. This merits more testing, and I'm not a Snake Oil fan.

A ritual companion to Jupiter’s Archer and Sphere + Sundry’s Jupiter’s Lightning Rod series, this tincture was created to charge ritual tools, cash boxes, talismans, amulets, statuary, and images that are dedicated to Jupiter, He Who Is Conquered By None, the Lord of Hospitality and Savior of the People, the Supreme and Most High, and can be utilized as an offering unto itself. This tincture is dedicated to Jupiter, was crafted and charged under his auspices, and was crafted to emphasize benevolent sovereignty, leadership, good health, wise exertion of power, expansion of opportunities, recognition, fame, and growth. Jupiterian Anointing Tincture contains CO2 extract of elder flower, essential oils of clove bud, clary sage, Atlas cedarwood, cedar leaf, and hyssop (steam distilled from tops), pinon pine resin, juniper berries, white oak bark, oakmoss, sassafras leaf, cinquefoil, and eucalyptus leaf – for Sagittarius – and local craft brandy. The tincture was charged on November 8, 2018 at sunrise, the second hour of Jupiter, the series election window, and the hour of Jupiter after nightfall. Lightning-struck wood, cedar berries, wildharvested English oak, aloeswood (courtesy of Jeremy Bechelli of Phytognosis!), a chunk of fulgurite, and pine resin were added during the election portion of the ritual. Each bottle contains a piece of lapis lazuli and a piece of quartz. Do not drink, do not eat. Do not use this tincture to dress candles. Do not keep this tincture near an open flame. Do not drop this into your eye or any other bodily orifice. Patch test before application. Please be advised that there may be solid plant material present in the tincture. I somehow ended up with a surplus of Jupiterian Anointing Tincture because that's how I roll. This smells like woods, pine, touch of cedar and sage. I dabbed this on my TAL Jupiter Conjure Bag this morning and , gave it a high five. I'll be checking in on it this evening, and will update this post, but wanted to put a placemarker/post or I'll forget. It has some pretty big energy to it, but I expect that for all Jupiter related items. Will give more details later this evening.

Peonies, cherry blossoms and a touch of vanilla. This is a lovely cherry blossom scent. UGH, perfect for the spring and if you want to celebrate cherry blossom season. It's like a less sweet and fruity Kamisuki HG to me.

Honeyed cream, immortelle (which smells sort of leafy), and touches of amber incense. This is a floral-foodie mashup without being too much of either. It's like if O grew up, threw on a lovely silk kimono and was sunbathing outside in an enclosed garden. Decadent, sophisticated, lovely. Medium throw and wear length.

Twelve Tastes in the Classification of Passion

Strong carnation and orange with a whiff of clove. Hey, it's a orangey carnation blend. It's nice to see orange in a non-foodie roll, and with carnation adding a nice spicy floral kick to it all. Great throw and wear length. -
Funny, I get mainly tobacco, a whiff of patchouli, amber and tangerine. This is mainly a citrusy sort of tobacco with whiffs of patchouli and honey.

Vanilla. Smoke. Sex. This smells like an old time vintage racy lingerie blend. It's seductive without being tawdry, sexy without being vulgar. But yes, sexy vanilla.
-
Oddly, for me this was a heavily honeyed scent with a whiff of honeysuckle. I much prefer the honeysuckle+green vines in the Old Homestead. This one may be too heavy and honeyed for me.

Sugary peach amber, and I swear something that smells like strawberry candy on me. It's a sweet, sugared amber blend and definitely both candy and fruit notes. I can see why people love this. Medium throw and wear length.

Yuzu, touch of apple, snowdrops, and slushy pine. This one is a very snowy white fruity floral and I really sort of love it. It's a much more playful Snow Moon than previous iterations. Good throw and wear length.

Once the site of a guillotine that rolled the heads of thirty-five people during the Terror, now the site of a triumphal arch dedicated to Napoleon’s military victories of 1805. Also: my family is ridiculous. A sharpened blade, a pinch of snuff, a blast of gunpowder, and a pop of strawberry bubblegum. Metal, cologne, and a whiff of bubblegum. This is like a much more sophisticated Blockhead. Mainly metal, mainly cologne, and mainly manly, with that irreverent touch of sweetness there as a little pop to keep things interesting. Medium throw and wear length.

Labdanum and birch tar with leather, orris root, copal, and bergamot. Coca cola resins (hi labdanum), birch, leather and a whiff of bergamot. This one is a resinous-birch/leather blend. Medium throw and wear length. Perfect for those Yule lads.

We’re such ridiculous LA rubes. We were standing outside our hotel laughing, oohing and ahhhing, and taking photos of snowflake-shaped snowflakes, when an Austrian fellow walks up to us and says, “Snow.” I told him that we’re from Los Angeles, so snow is super exotic to us. He nodded and walked away. The awe and wonder of a couple of Angelinos marveling at the snowy snowness of the snowflakiest of snowflakes: golden amber, California sage, white tea, and sunny Matilija poppy speckled with snow. Piney snow, hints of white tea and sage, and a whiff of amber. This one is a very Christmas blend, but made delicate by the white tea and sage, there's a somewhat floral note that I couldn't identify and I am assuming that's the poppy. Cool, breezy, snow. Medium throw and wear length.

Stand tall, straighten that crown, and don't take any crap from no one - Heart of the Lion, speaking pineapple quotes to me. This is more of a nimbus scent, it doesn't have a lot of throw, and it smells mainly amber, resins, whiff of rose and green. It's just more like you put on a blindingly golden tiara on, that lasers away negativity at 10 paces away before it can even touch the hem of your skirt, robes, pants, whatever the hell you decide to wear. In aikido, when you step on the mat, you own that mat, it is your space. Well, HoL sort of creates a mat for you to step on, and that's your kingdom, and nothing but respect for your mat.

Light vanilla and sweet pea, and whiffs of amber and sandalwood. This is a vaguely vanilla amber sandalwood. Good lather, good suds, no bits. Just nice and silky.
-
Sharp, deep green, and resinous. Deep fir, smoky vetiver, and musky. The smokiness disappears after a bit, and you're left with a musky fir. Sort of mancave manly?
-
Sweet candy peppermint, and honestly it smells like there's a hint of cocoa and it's actually making me think of thin mints from Girl Scout cookies. Yup, this smells more like thin mints to me.

OUDH OUDH OUDH OUDH. If you love oudh, give this a whirl.

Excessively Cheerful Christmas Tree Lot Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to ellocentipede's topic in Atmosphere
Beautiful pine smell. I'm vaguely considering getting my hands on some in case we end up with an artificial tree and we just need the smell of the real thing. This is like you took a troupe of pine trees and shoved them all up your nose as a singularity. -
Eucalyptus and Balsam Fir Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to ellocentipede's topic in Atmosphere
Breezy menthol that dries down to an icy fir with a touch of extra powdery wood. -
Beeswax, resin, and incense. Yup, smells like church. But you know, BBC style church where the TV show is better than the reality because growing up, no church incense ever smelled like this. But it should have.
-
Spiced red wine, berries, spice and a touch of snow. On wet, the snow is more prevalent, but then on the drydown, I get more of a leather note coming through underneath the spiced red wine and berries. Very traditional Christmas here. Good throw and wear length.
-
Lime snow! I get mainly limey snow - which is a combination of the bergamot and white tea, and on the drydown its a limey sort of wind, which I am assuming has some freesia in it. Soft, limey, cool. Good throw and wear length.
-
Wispy floral nagarmotha, frankincense, and a whiff of moss and ambergris. This one was a very "white wispy" blend, and it had almost no throw or wear length on me.
-
Stony, and an almost oily nag champa. It starts off as cold stone, wind, and a whiff of oily smoke. Good throw and wear length. Definitely masculine on me.
