Ally in love. Vanilla, heliotrope, red sandalwood, pear, black lily, white wine grape, and white rose. In the bottle, I'll be honest, I feel like I can't smell anything! However, when wet on the skin it smells like roses predominantly. Once it actually settles down I get the pear mingling with the rose, the vanilla slowly starts to come out, but the sandalwood is either blended so well I can't pull it out, or non-existent on my skin. I do love it though, but I'll war with myself for the next month or so to see if I really need a back-up bottle.

    Ded Moroz

It starts off and stays mainly moss with a touch of mint on me. The amber is present, but it plays a supportive role. Overall a lovely scent, though a bit greener than what I usually go for.

    The Shivering Boy

At first, everyone blends together perfectly, it's chilled grapes and icy trees. Then the woods come to the front and the grape decides to hang back. It's cold grape-tastic goodness with a touch of fir--or some sort of evergreen tree. I like it, but I'm not sure that I need more than my decant.

    Mlle. Lilith, Fortune Teller

This is so insanely pretty. It's pink musk with spicy pomegranate while incense hides out in the background. Most definitely a 'pink' scent while Mme. Moriarty has a 'red' feel to it.

    Malediction

Patchouli quickly loses the battle against vetivert which takes a very sharp almost soprano-like screech. I think I'll let it age and try it again later, right now it's just too sharp.

    Liz

I am in love with Liz, no joke. There's very little change--to my nose--from the bottle to skin. The leather and florals take a backseat to the smoky vanilla and they just blend together so well. This is something I could wear on a daily basis and never get tired of, I smell a back-up bottle order soon!

    Lambs-Wool

In the bottle, this smells like a lovely spiced apple cider. On my skin, it starts off as a spiced, juicy apple, the milk is sort of lingering in the background. The throw seems to get stronger and I can definitely smell the nutmeg in there too. Everything balances out in the end though, with the apple being the most prominent note--more juicy than spiced now. Reminds me a little of Agape--well, this could be Agape's spiced cousin--and it's perfect for the holiday season.

    Boo

In the bottles and while wet, this smells like Antique Lace's vanilla note, only sweeter. However, once it starts to dry down I get fluffy, sweet vanilla with just a touch of linen. Throw is pretty good and I'm really digging this blend--to the point that I'm totally getting a back-up bottle.

'Tis The Voice Of The Lobster

The first thing that hits me in the imp is watermelon--like, the candy sort. On the skin it's mandarin oranges, watermelon, and I think I'm getting strawberry--though it appears to be peeking out shyly. This seems like the perfect summer scent for me; it's fun, fruit-tastic, and cheery. This, I like. However, I think an imp will be more than enough for now.

    Whoso List To Hunt

In the imp, it totally smells creamy to my nose, almost like peanut butter. However on the skin it's absolutely marvelous. It's earthy, slightly creamy, and definitely woodsy with just a touch of amber--and I loves me some amber. I don't see this as an everyday scent, but for days in the fall and winter where I want to feel like I've just had an amazing trip through the woods--while remaining completely cozy.

    Penitence

In the imp, this reminds me of something that used to be my mother's favorite cologne and it's a familiar scent to be sure. Frankincense seems to overwhelm the myrrh once I've applied it and it's a little sweet. Overall, I like it, but this isn't something I see myself going for often.

    Morocco

I've actually put off trying Morocco for a while. However, I'm totally happy that I finally tried it! It smells like spicy carnations with just a touch of vanilla on my skin and it's just simply gorgeous. It eventually fades once I've had it on for onwards of two and a half hours, but reapplication is totally worth it; I totally see a bottle of Morocco in my future.

    Black Dahlia

It started off smelling insanely clean on my skin, and then the smoky rose crept up and brought the amber and jasmine along with her. Admittedly, I've already got a lot of floral scents, but I'll definitely be using the imp from time to time since the scent makes me think of someone who looks innocent, but has a mysterious, ask-not side.

    St. John's Eve

In the bottle, it smells rather like smoky wood, like you just put the fire out and the smoke is hanging around, but not in the "oh my goodness it's in my lungs, get it away!" sense. On the skin, alright, I feel like my skin chemistry is strange beans, why? From a distance, I think it smells rather like mustard. Eh? Up close though, it's smoky wood goodness, which is awesome, because every here and there I do get the craving for the smell of smoky wood and this definitely fits the bill. Ah, good, mustard scent strangeness is fading out now and I'm left with creamy, smoky wood awesomeness. Not an everyday scent, but a good one for filling a scent craving.

    Velvet Unicorn

In the bottle, it smells sweet with a hint of strawberries. But on the skin? Mmm, yum! The cherries are very, very faint, but definitely there and the strawberries are only slightly stronger. I think I'm getting creamy, fluffy vanilla and it almost reminds me of one of my favorite drinks--which is awesomeness. Anyways, I'm totally in love with this scent; it's all the girly goodness I could ask for and more without being overpoweringly sweet. Best of all, throw is medium and wear length seems to be going well. This is the scent one's inner princess would wear on a daily basis.

    Yemaya

In the imp, it's honeydew without a doubt. Sweet, succulent honeydew. Wet, well, it's still honeydew. However, once it finally starts to dry, grape hesitantly peeks out but it unwilling to fight honeydew for the crown and the flowers watch hesitantly from the sidelines. Honeydew seems to decide that it'd be best to simply call it a draw and grape reluctantly agrees. So there you have it, it's honeydew with a touch of grape and a smidgen of flowers. I'm really not getting sea mosses or I'm not focusing enough to sniff them out. Overall, it's a scent I think one of my guy friends would like on a girl and because of that, I might give it to him to give to his girlfriend--if he can manage to get her away from commercial perfumes.

    Azathoth

In the imp, it smells like cedar and hotel room to me. Not dirty, nasty hotel room, but recently cleaned because you've just checked in hotel room. When wet, it reminds me of a sterile room--or more precisely, my memory of sticking someone with an IV and getting stuck with an IV as well--and then once it dries down we've got tangerines and cedar. Vetiver is playing surprisingly well with everyone else and I'm glad, because when I hear 'black vetiver' my mine automatically goes, "It's going to eat everyone else!" It really is both dark and light at once and I don't think my poor little brain is having an easy job of making sense of it. It's different, and more wood than anything else thanks to my weird skin chemistry, but not bad.

    Eat Me

So, I've honestly been curious about this scent and was lucky enough to get frimped it in my latest order. In the imp, it smells rather fluffy and immediately reminds me of cake. On my skin though, it makes me think of raspberries and vanilla swirled together into a cake and daintily dabbed with a tad more vanilla. It's yummy, but it's bringing to mind the color red a bit too much for my personal tastes. ETA: Ack, ok, I admit it, I like this more than I thought I would. At the moment, it's radiating off of my left arm and wow, it smells like Mme. Moriarty's cake-tastic younger, sweeter sister who steers clear of the smoky, sultry goodness. Yummeh. <3

    Velvet Bandito

In the bottle, it's dusky, spicy cloves touched just a smidgen by tobacco. On the skin, it doesn't change much. Though, it does evoke the image of a saloon in the Wild West. It's a soothing scent, masculine in nature--at least on my skin--and not bad, but not exactly my usual cup of tea. It's not overpowering--which is good--and it doesn't have a ton of throw, but I can see myself slathering up with it when I need a touch of warmth when it gets closer to winter again.

    Strawberry Moon 2009

So, in the bottle, I'll admit that to me, it smelled like strawberry sour belts. But once I actually put it on my skin? It's taking the first bite out of a particularly sweet and juicy, ripe strawberry after you've lightly dipped it in sugar. The grass is actually behaving itself extremely well and getting along wonderfully with the strawberries making this smell seriously delectable. GAH, this is love, and that's not something I thought I'd ever say about a berry scent to be quite honest. Overall, I have a feeling that I'll be making a trip out to WCWC to pick up another bottle because this is a scent I have a feeling I'll be using quite often this summer. Why? Because it'll drive the boy up the wall since he loves strawberries so darned much. This scent is filled with so much win, I do believe I'm in lurve! <3

    June Gloom 2009

In the bottle, it strikes me as sort of elusive, like a scent you know you've smelled before, but you can't exactly remember where. When wet, for some reason, rain is the first thing that strikes me as being there, the herbs and the flowers are there, but they're being rather elusive. On the dry down it's a little zesty and reminds me of the way flowers smell after the rain; fresh for lack of better word to describe it. It's really gorgeous and I think it's going to be a really awesome scent to wear on a date some summer night.

    Velvet Dogs Playing Poker

In the bottle, that definitely smells like coffee and what I'm presuming to be the smoke. Once it begins to dry down on my skin, it's very faint, sweet tobacco smoke, faint wood, and coffee. Yep, coffee is definitely the predominant note radiating off of my skin--not in a bad way, but that's definitely coffee. I'm not loving it, but I'm not hating it either; I think I'll have to let it age for a while before making up my mind about it. It reminds me a lot of Eggnog Latte minus the eggnog part and it seems to stick pretty close to my skin.

    Lilith and the Jarocho

So, I'm a total sucker for forum only scents and the description was really, really cute--and so is the label! I don't get much from just sniffing the bottle, but that changes once I put it on my skin. It's clean and refreshing, and for some reason it reminds me a bit of LUSH's Avobath bomb. I get jasmine, a lime margarita, and a decent throw--thankfully, this doesn't go to powder on me. Overall I'm content with my bottle, glad that I bought it, and it's going to be a fun scent to wear this summer.

    Windy Moon

So I've been clicking my heels together happily ever since my bottle came in today and this is perhaps the one BPAL scent that even my mother has a hard time finding something to dislike about it. It strikes me as aquatic touched with ozone along with a dash of florals. It makes me think of taking a yacht out onto the ocean in the middle of the summer and stretching out for a nap in the sun while the waves lap gently at the side of the boat. It's very peaceful and light which wasn't exactly what I thought I was going to get. I was sort of hoping for the scent of charred wood. Instead my mind either conjures up the image of sunning on a yacht or standing in a forest in the middle of the winter only to find that the trees are a strange shade of gray and leafless at that and gnarled branches seem to reach out at you as the wind sways them. It's a very lovely scent and I'm glad to have a bottle of it.

    Eternal

So ah, for a very brief second, I had gardenias. Now? Er, let's see, I'm probably getting the florals that I don't know the scents of by memory and thus, my poor nose is rather confused. If I concentrate then yes, I get very faint gardenias; however, they're relatively buried and this isn't my usual floral cup of tea. If I worked with flowers all day, I imagine I'd come home smelling like Eternal. It's not bad mind you, it's just not for me.
