  1. HOLY SCHMOLEY, Y'ALL.

This box is so freaking heavy. And it looks like the PO played kickball with it, but there are so many goodies!

I haven't dug through much, but just in a quick pass through the obvious new stuff, I have found treasures- blueberries!  Strawberry frogs! Spiderwebs! And of course, the toast and jam. A loooooooiing feathery single earring may also stay here, but we'll see.

I'll take some time and try to clear out the older stuff and then probably get out a new round in a month or so.

@Em- what are you going to do with how FULL that box is???? I tried to take some time to reorganize it all but did not have nearly enough time to sort through it lol.

Truly, after generously treating myself, I am thinking that I will pull anything that I recognize from at least the round before this one and offer some stuff up on my local buy nothing group just to make some room. Reorganizing to remove the larger boxes helped me get it out the door this last time. This time it might have to be removal of some of the larger bangles and such.

Box should be landing with me later today! @ShunnerOfHugs - pm me your address when you have a chance!

update: box has landed but boy, I'm gonna have to grab a new one at the PO tomorrow because I don't think the current one is going to make it without a LOT of tape.

Thanks for refreshing the box. It started brand new, but they do get beat up.

  4. The freshly organized and newly replaced box is officially in flight to Kakiphony!

I tried to go through every single piece and organize according to type, pull sets together,  etc. I ended up tossing a few bags and boxes that were a little grody (or broken, in one case) and put all except pointy pins in gallon size bags, to fit everything in.

The box is very full, so I encourage everyone to take anything that catches your eye. I know I was way more aggressive about indulging my inner magpie, just to fit in everything I wanted to add!

  5. Yay! I've updated the participant list above - still room for more!

I have not dug through the box in a couple of months, but I am pretty sure we already have a collection of single earrings, so that is definitely a go. And if we don't have a scavenger box, we should, because I have several things I need to let go of the hope of repurposing myself. ;)

If folks can shoot me their state of residence and any time you absolutely cannot receive the box/preference for beginning or end/anything else I should know, that would be great. I feel like things go more smoothly when we're able to send roughly geographically.

  6. The Jewelry Round Robin box needs to spread its wings and fly once more.

This is a round robin swap for all things jewelry - necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, broaches, watches, glasses/mask chains...you know the drill, made of just about any material you can adorn yourself with. If you have serious questions about what constitutes jewelry, let me know.

What is a round robin swap, you might ask? I take the heavy large flat rate box and send to the first recipient, who will indulge their magpie tendencies, contribute a similar number of items from their own stash, and send on to the next person, and so on.

    The main rules are:

    * please keep the box for no more than 10 days -

if you are ill or have any signs of illness please let me know and I'll shuffle the order around (if you already have the box, let me know and we'll extend the time until you are well)

    * be generous - items don't have to be 1:1 (i.e., if you take two necklaces, you don't need to put in two necklaces, but try to put in at least as many items as you take)

Unfortunately, this swap is US only because it would take a small fortune to ship otherwise.

Sound fun after all of that admin stuff? Then sign your fabulous self up!

Participants (limit 10)(* has the box):

    1. kakiphony

    2. lorizav

    3. Thuy

    4. ShunnerOfHugs

    5. Vanesa

  7. So, I realize that with Switch Witch just starting folks may be overwhelmed,  but is there still interest in a 13 nights swap this year?

We would need to get started this week, if so. I really shouldn't host, but I would be happy to assist if someone does want to take it on, because it is my absolute favorite swap of the year.

  8. Would anyone be interested in a lighting round of something small and finite for end of summer/back to school? For my lighting rounds, I just draw names, no attempts at close matching.

I'm itchy for something and have maybe just enough capacity to manage 15 participants who solemnly swear they will make good.

  9. I have not heard anything about a spring Switch Witch at the mod level, but to be fair, y'all usually know before me.

Re Spring Cleaning, I would love to participate,  but definitely cannot run it. Other than the occasional round robin, I think my hosting days are over for the foreseeable future.  Work is just too much right now.

Speaking of round robins, though,  I do need to get the jewelry box back in flight soon.

We have a Natural Grocers here too!  (First one I'd ever seen and the only place I can find that carries Toum around here.)

@Em-  would this count against a swap for a year so the organizer could only have two other swaps at same time?  (year long birthday card swap)  Or could it be an informal thing?

Generally, card swaps count against the total, but if someone with an extensive proven track record of successfully running swaps were to take this on, I would be willing to make an exception to the 3 swaps rule.

Kiddie valentines!  I used to love collecting my kiddie valentines in a paper bag to open on valentines day. With treats! sticks of gum, tea, stickers?!?!?  OK, maybe i am a weirdo. ha, ha.

Many many years ago someone ran a swap where we made valentines boxes for someone and sent an assortment of goodies, which was super fun.

  12. I ordered this one knowing that I really like Alice, though its a little on the floral-sweet side for me, that I should by rights LOVE Scherezade, as I love all of the notes and particularly red musk (one of my fave notes), but it tends to feel a little dry to me, and that while I'm not sure I've tried Rakshasa, I like sandalwood and some patchoulis.

Y'all, this is amazing. It doesn't read head shoppy AT ALL to me, which I note mainly because it clearly does to some people and I don't want it to scare people off. I tend to really amp red musk and that is by far the predominant note on my skin, but the milk and honey and Earl Gray tea-ness from the Alice are just enough to give the musk that sultry smoothness I associate with my fave red musk blends and the spices and saffron play super well with the florals from Alice and Rakshasa.
