    Wilhelmina Murray

This is a very pale, white, creepingly feminine floral blend. The tea rose is the most noticable floral, but I can also detect some white blossoms, like lily or magnolia in the background. There is a softly smoky note floating in the background, very resinous and sexy and reminescent of a "head shop" incense note. It makes the blend very unique as far as floral blends go. It also gives Wilhelmina a bit of an "evil" feel. On the dry down, it actually becomes more of a resinous/smoky blend instead of floral. This is a nice one, I'm not sure if I'll keep my bottle, but lovely just the same.

    Red Moon 2004

Finally, the elusive Red Moon!! Thanks to Astrid for the decant! First sniff: Gorgeous, red firey, and deep. It starts out really dark and heavy; cinnamon layered over something black, almost like licorice. On the drydown: the floral really starts to come out, and it's a sneaky floral. The blend turns into something very feminine and sexy. The cinnamon fades into the background and something lovely like lily or lilac floats at the top. Even through this entire transition, the blend smells undeniably red and luminescent. Just beautiful, now I know what all the fuss is about!

    The Ides of March 2005

A green, brisk, strong cologne masculine scent. It is very crisp, refreshing, and boyishly clean. This reminds me a little too much of a men's cologne that you would buy at a perfume counter to be one of my favorites. It does smell very good, and the florals and herbals in this blend are very reminescent of spring time. Lovely, but not on my man.

    The Living Flame

This is indeed a very red scent, and I had high hopes for it, but it just didn't agree with my chemistry. It turned straight clove on me, or if not clove a very similar note. I could smell the cinnamon and musks trying to come out, but this horrible cough syrup scent just overpowered everything. It was the same kind of note that disagreed with me in Samhain. Not my kind of thing, but a strong scent with pretty good sticking power.

    Blood Countess

This is one of my favorite BPALs of all time! It's a wicked berry scent; definitely dark and red and extraordinarily seductive. The berry and plum notes are on top, but there's a lovely, smoky, sexy undercurrent that makes this blend so special. (I'm guessing this is the opium note) This is way sexier than you typically would think a berry blend would be. I love this one, and I'm sure I will always have a 5 ml in my regular catalogue collection.

    Phantom Queen

Soft, dark wafting black orchid blowing on a summer's evening breeze. There's a soft green back drop; I guess that would be the clover note. Very faint, creeping and delicate. Definitely feminine, and appropriate for the Phantom Queen; as this is a fleeting scent.

    Osun

Ahhh, another beautiful honey scent! The honey note in this reminds me a bit of O; it's a sweet, thick, gooey, rot your teeth out honey note. It's softened up and smells a bit vanilla as well. There is a fresh, herbally/soapy undertone to the honey. A unique combination indeed, but it works. Feminine, smooth, and super sweet; I love it.

    Mandrake

A very dry, sharp, woodsy scent. It's funny; I have no idea what real Mandrake smells like, yet this is exactly what I would imagine its scent would be! I can only describe it as sort of a dry wooden scent, a bit like the note I've smelled in similar BPAL woodsy scents. There is definitely an herbal quality to the blend, but it's more of an undertone than a top note. This reminds me of fresh cedar chips. Not my type of thing, but it has a lot of lasting power.

    Penny Dreadful

This is a tricky one! When first applied it smelled nothing at all like I expected it to; it didn't smell dreadful at all! I detected soft, sweet notes; like white florals with something a little spicy underneath. I can barely detect the earthen note at all. After it dries down, the grave loam starts to show itself quite a bit more. In the end it smells like a toned down Graveyard Dirt over a light cinnamon / ginger note. A nice scent, but not my thing.

    Pumpkin Queen

Glorious, just as lovely as I had imagined it would be! It's definitely a pumpkin scent, but unlike Jack because it's not overly buttery or super foody. It reminds the most of the Pumpkin Patch scent with pomegranate, but not as buttery. Pumpkin Queen is a beautiful, fruity, smooth, feminine pumpkin scent, absolutely perfect for the Fall season. There is a hint of spiciness to it, just enough to make it interesting. It definitely last awhile and stays pretty fruity on my skin. Just perfect, I love it, I'm ordering another 5 ml!!

    All Souls

This is a most unique BPAL blend indeed! I was attracted to the description because of the sweet cakes in it, but I had to wait for the dry down to figure out what it smells like. This is funny, but it smells exactly like the inside of the health food store I shop at!! No kidding, it's that same blend of herbs, spices, veggies, and sweetness that I smell behind the counter where I order my sandwiches . Not that this is a bad thing, because I actually quite like the smell of health food stores, it's just not something I want to wear on my skin. An interesting scent, nonetheless.

    Creepy

I knew I would love this one, and I certainly do! Pure, gooey, warm caramel apples; pure and simple. The apple note definitely strikes me as green apple, which is usually how I picture caramel apples anyway. The caramel note is not overwhelmingly sweet, but delicious and unmistakable. I definitely need another 5 ml. This makes me drool, I loooove it!!!!!

    Samhainophobia

A heavy, deep sinister scent. Dark vetiver with creeping wisps of patchouli. There's an autumn sweetness that runs through the base; sort of like that similar note in All Saint's. It's a very masculine scent for me; and I immediately picture a wizard cloaked in black. This will probably smell fabulous on the boy, but not my type of thing.

    White Moon

A very white scent indeed. This is a very light, lily floral scent. It's very feminine and perfumey and reminds me of expensive women's perfume you'd buy at a perfume counter. It's lovely and light, and darkened only by a slight hint of the violet note. It doesn't have a lot of throw or sticking power, and is fleeting like the white moon herself. A lovely scent, just not quite my style.

    Punkie Night

Oh, the most glorious apple scent ever!! It's a really true red apple scent, exactly like the McIntosh apples I ate earlier today. It's a bright, fun, fruity scent, with just a hint of cinnamon on the dry down. Beth always delivers what she promises! This reminds of the shop at the apple orchard I use to go to when I was young; warm, fresh apple cider and all the fresh apples you can eat. I love this one! I may need another bottle!!

    Snake Oil

Wow, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet; this is one of my favorite BPAL scents of all time!! Simply stated, this is the best unisex vanilla blend ever created! It's a sexy, musky, spicey, slightly boozy, thick vanilla scent. Not like the vanilla note in O, no no, much deeper, thicker, and sensual. This smells fantastic on me as well as my husband, and it remains one of my top ten regular catalogue scents of all time. It has a ton of throw and lasts all day long. In fact, it's almost time to buy another 5 ml!!

    Faustus

An infusion of incalculable power and irresistible temptation. Truly an exercise in megalomania and self-gratification: frankincense and cinnamon, darkened by violet. This immediately strikes me as a very masculine blend. The cinnamon and frankincense combine evenly to form the top note. It's very spicy and woodsy smelling, I even thought there may be some sandalwood in there. The top is nice enough, but violet is my mortal enemy, and the strong undercurrent that runs through the base spoils the smell for me. This is a strong blend and does have quite a bit of throw. Just not for me.

    Eos

A light and lovely feminine floral. The jasmine is the first thing I notice, and the honeysuckle and buttercup combine to form a creamy floral undertone. This does cling very close to the skin, and is perfect for the goddess of the glowing skin. This is the kind of scent you wear when you know you are going to get very, VERY close to someone; if ya know what I mean. It would be lovely to have a guy think this is the natural smell my neck gives off!! A pretty blend, but not strong enough for me.

    Kali

When first applied, Kali smells very strongly of red wine, so I thought it was going to be a dark, heavy type scent. As it dries down, the chocolate note starts to sweeten the blend a little, and the florals start to show themselves. About 10 minutes after its applied, Kali is almost totally tulip and lotus, with the slightest hint of honey lingering beneath. The red wine and chocolate have completely disappeared. This is a lovely blend, but not enough throw or sticking power for me.

    Juliet

A very light, lovely, feminine floral. This is very heavily a sweet pea scent, with the honeysuckle as the top undertone. This is a wispy, almost watery smelling floral; innocence in its purest form. A very light pink scent for me. This one does not have a lot of throw or sticking power, but it is lovely just the same.

    Czernobog

Normally vetiver is my mortal enemy, but I love this blend!! It's a very, very sexy red/brown musk, and there is a hint of sweetness to the undertone. This is a unisex blend, and smells fabulous on both sexes. I wear this one when I go to dark, smoky clubs because it has a lot of throw and is extremely seductive. This is a great one for when you are feeling..... naughty!

    Treat #1

OMG! Sooo excited to have gotten this one! Yes, yes, definitely glittering fruity candy. My fist thought was Skittles, but I can see the comparison with Jolly Ranchers. It's very very sweetly fruity out of the bottle; but on the dry down the gorgeous pink sugar note starts to come out. After awhile it begins to smell a bit like strawberry cotton candy!! Oh, it's just lovely, I absolutely **adore** it! It actually has quite a bit of strength for a fruity blend, and I think it's going to be rather long lasting as well. Thanks so much to the Trick or Treat Goblins for treating me this year!!

    The Brides of Dracula

I must admit I was really expecting this to be a musky, spicey love fest with tons of throw. No such luck. It's a very, very light scent, and once I apply it to my skin it has almost no throw. It clings very close to the skin. It's a sort of a light musk, spicey floral; I can smell the loveliness of the spices, but i just wish they were stronger. It dries down to a faint lily note. I'm sad, I had such high hopes for this one, but I will find my bottle a better home.

    Litha 2006

Oh what a gorgeous and unique one! The honey mead is definitely on top, and it's more on the honey side than the mead side. The sweetness of the honeysuckle is quite strong, and blends beautifully with the honey note. I can smell a little bit of the frankincense, but that in no way turns this into a resinous scent. I would classify this as a strong honey/floral. This is beautiful, and I'm glad I finally got my hands on a bottle.

    Kindly Moon

What a lovely moon! It's a fruity, sweet floral scent; pretty much pink/light green for me. I can smell a myriad of light and lovely florals on top. The peach note actually is quite strong on my skin, and on the dry down it begins to smell like an effervescent peach scent. This is very feminine and surprisingly long lasting for being a lunar scent. I love it, I'll enjoy using my 5 ml.
