    Holiday Moon

Zesty is definitely an appropriate word for this. Bright, cheerful, and celebrational (if that isn't a word, too bad. It is now.). I get green tea and something slightly citrusy cheerful- I'm guessing the oude? It calms down after about 30 seconds, letting the bamboo and white tea play together. This is a wonderful scent to have in midwinter, for those who long for summer- bright but not warm, and cheerful. I feel like I stepped out of the hustle-and-bustle of the city and into a tiny backyard, complete with tea ceremony and pond.

    Spirits of the Dead

In the imp- Citrusy, almost, and very dry smelling. I can see why people compare it to embalming fluid. Wet- The lemon dissapears. Tea and spicy flowers. Rather, tea made with spicy flowers. Dry- There are the woods! Papyrus, some light wood notes, green tea powder (have you ever been lucky enough to smell the real stuff? Fresh from the scoop? This is it, on my wrist.) and a light sweet, spicy floral note. If this is linden, I'm going to have to grow some in my garden. I'm so glad this is the first DIMV I tried on. Amazingly amazing.

    Tenochtitlan

I only put a teensy dab of this on at first because I was afraid of the amber (and, for some reason, I thought there was chocolate in the blend). Two minutes later, after sitting and reading reviews and sniffing my wrist, I went and put a whole line on my wrist. This is warm pear, sage, more cleansing herbs, and heat on my wrist. I've never been to the desert, but this scent makes me want to something fierce. Sweet without being sugary, tart and herby. Not a top ten favorite, but something that is going to stay in my collection forever.

    The Peacock Queen

In dramatic contrast to the soft innocence of Snow White and the dew-kissed freshness of her sister, Rose Red, this is a blood red, voluptuous rose, velvet-petaled, at the height of bloom. Haughty and imperious, vain, yet incomparably lovely to the eye, but thick with thorns of jealousy, pride and hatred. In the bottle- A full bloomed, red rose with thorns in a clear glass vase. On my skin- WTF? Hello? Rose? Where did you go? I smell water and that weird plastic-marigold-ozone that is a flower shop, but no rose. Dry- Vague spices and...sap? I smell like a broken flower stem. This is not the rose for me. (Oh, and throw? I scrubbed this off, as it started bringing up bad memories, and I still smell it under two applications of Sugar Skull.)

    Euphrosyne

Gardenia, tea rose, vanilla and jasmine. in the imp- Gardenia and jasmine. I'm a bit leery of trying this one on. Wet- Jasime and small, delicate roses. :checks description: Tearoses! Dry- Jasmine, vanilla and dry tearoses. The vanilla is very similar to Antique Lace's...soft and creamy. This is a very feminine blend, and not my normal thing...but it is very lovely and just might make it into my permanent imp collection.

    Paris

Why did I wait so long to try this? Am I insane? wet- SPICE. Both offputting and addictive. Goooood. dry- Lighter spice, with a hint of lavender and a nice deep base of lotus. If this was a tea, I would never drink anything else. In fact, this makes me want to blend a tea that would taste the way this smells. Amazing. Absolutely Amazing.

    Tempest

This is...wonderful. Why did I take so long to order this? I must be crazy. In the imp- water and fresh, clear air. On my skin- This smells just like the description says! This is a water-laden breeze, heavy with the promise of rain. I feel like the warning before the rain hits. Dry- More water, less air. I smell like rain and storm. How a storm fits in an imp, only Beth knows....

    Soothing Nightmares & Night Terrors

Someone on the forum made a spray of Dragon's Milk and I think something else to help with monsters/nightmares.

    Seven African Powers

Heat. This smells like a hot sun shining down on some fresh-picked herbs, with a strong base of lemon that doesn't overwhelm. As to the use- I put some on just before bed, since I've been having problems controlling energy during my dreams (waking up to find everything in my room has been shifted slightly is really creepy), and promptly fell asleep. No dreams, but I woke up with a horrid headache and I feel full of energy. I feel almost like if I had to stop a semi from hitting something, I could.

When you need something comforting or cheering

    Dorian or Sugar Skull.
  11. laochodia

    Sugar Skull

In the bottle- much richer and darker. Wet- Raw sugar, a bit of walnut and a tiny bit of smoke. Dry- Burnt, dark sugar, the smell of walnut skins (that dry papery taste) and a rich, rolling base of mollasses. This is darker and more joyous than the 04 version...and just as amazing. Edit- After a few hours, this is all burnt vanilla and maple syrup. Mmmm.

    Beatrice

In the bottle- very elusive. Spices...roses...and a note that keeps slipping away. Wet- Creamy vanilla, dark roses and spices. Dry- A bit more spicy and a bit less roses. Spicy rose-y vanilla. This is the daughter of Queen of Clubs (in fact, the first sniff made me check the bottle again to make sure it was Beatrice.) This brings to mind a dark purple flower with poison dripping off it's thorns. A wonderful scent (and this coming from a rose hater!). Dark, rich, sweet and sexy without knowing it.

If I love O - tell me about Haunted!

Haunted is like dark musk + herbs and someone you know and trust chasing you through the forest. O is like dark musk + a blindfold (yes, Beth puts a blindfold in the scent [just kidding])+ vanilla and honey and amber.
  14. Red Moon = Eos and Szepasszony (pulls out imp to check spelling), heavy on the Eos with just a dab of Szepasszony.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I believe that if you give it a quick rinse with rubbing alcohol you can reuse (or you can buy a big box of 100 for 99 cents). A pipette is a, well, tiny pipe made of glass or plastic- kind of like a very thin straw with a bulb on one end. (wow, that description sucks)

    Pine and cinnamon. Very strong.

    Medicine Show

Tobacco and something sharp and green. Reminds me of Tarot: The Hermit, in a way.

    House of Mirrors

This is the older brother of Thunderbird. Ozone and amber. Don't pick on Thunderbird or it will come over and Kick Your Ass. () No, really. This is amazingly light but pervasive. Truly amazing.

    Kunstkammer

Paradise Punch Bubble Yum. While it is my favorite flavor of bubble yum, I don't want to smell like it.
  20. laochodia

    Bed of Nails

Water and metal. This hot metal being tempered in water. Mmmm.

    Midway

    Plastic and sugar on me
  22. laochodia

    Gypsy Queen

Smoke, incense, sugar and something elusive. Wonderful.
  23. laochodia

    Torture King

Dark and masculine. Deep amber, citrus and leather. Why don't they make cologne like this?
  24. laochodia

    Freak Show

Chocolate, fig and pepper. Veeeeery strong. Unfortunately, not for me.
