In the imp this is rather heady, minty and floral. It is staying grounded by the teak and moss thankfully. Wet on my skin this is a glorious minty teak wood! It's so soft and creamy with that slight minty edge. No florals at this stage, whoo hooo! Drying down this is soft powdered snow covering damp mossy teak. It's blended seamlessly and is the perfect vision of sophistication. These notes belong together, on my skin! I really didn't expect to like this, at all. It has several notes of death for me (rose and white amber), but those two don't even make an appearance!

In the imp this is the raw scent of greenery! Clearly the balsam is the culprit. I never expected this at all! Wet on my skin, the greenery just keeps amping to the point of no return, I think! I smell like freshly cut grass It is sophisticated greenery though, like the pristine lawn of a noble gentleman surrounding his country manor house. Drying down this has a slight edge and a twitch to my nose. It's becoming headachey unfortunately. I smell absolutely no leather and no vanilla. I am gutted. I hoped beyond hope this would be a creamy vanilla leather on me as I tend to amp both notes. It looks like I amp balsam more than anything! I should steer clear of balsam blends in the future if I smell like a freakin field! After a while, I finally pick up a sweet something or other... most likely the vanilla, but it's not the usual vanilla note for sure. The leather perks up a little too, but it's still smeared in balsam and both notes I hoped would be dominant are just not being allowed to shine! This scent is just so strange. I don't think I could wear it, despite being intrigued by the sweet spicyness of it. I don't regard this as a perfume, more of a nostalgic trip down memory lane to when I used to spend my days and nights in library's, and how I adored the smell of the antique mahogany tables and old creamy leather chairs. I just wish U smelt like I remember the library! I keep longing for something more that just doesn't seem to happen on my skin

Left His Nurse While In a Crowd
TulaMontage replied to pinkstardust420's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
In the imp this is creamy, steamy chocolate tea cakes. It's sweet and warm and alluring indeed! Wet on my skin this morphs into a beautiful and ripe berry tea, accompanied by chocolate cream cakes. What a scent! It's absolutely seamless, and actually reminds me somewhat of Vampire from planet X. It's that same alarming musky note, and I love it! Drying down this is the perfect cup of berry tea. I don't drink tea, but I love to smell other peoples tea! A friend in work brings her own infuser and fills it with dried cranberries, apples, raspberries and the like, and Let his nurse smells EXACTLY like that. It's just so comforting and warm and charming and oh I am swooooooning over this. There is a slight medical tinge to this as well. Peptac! Thats exactly what I smell. Sweet and stickly pink aniseed peptac. I adore this scent. It's seamlessly blended. I may need to find a bottle but where is the question!!!!!! -
In the imp this is a strange little cupcake, with a slathering of chocolate icing and topped with wet leaves? Wet on my skin this turns in to dirtyyyy mouldy chocolate cake. I really don't like the filth note! Drying down and this is almost completely gone. I am so sad, because for a moment the mould vanished, and out popped this glorious steamy hot moist chocolate pud! It was creamy and soft and almost like the Candy Butcher. Now it's gone... What a shame

Pppppatchooouli! With a slight grounding of hemp. Thats all I can smell in the imp. And this is the first time I have ever smelt patchouli properly! On my skin this is a sexy and sensual blend with the added creamy sweetness of vanilla. I can't wait to let the man thing sniff me when he finishes work! Drying down this is a slight nose stinger. It's just bursting with patchouli. That really is the dominant note. I hope the creamy vanilla comes back! And it does! Man, this is a morpher! One minute it's as sharp as a knife, the next it's so creamy and soft. I think I adore this scent, but I really don't want to because I only have a half decant. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I could use it sparingly as my festival scent.... now thats an idea Wickerman 2010 is coming up, and I may just have to take this with me.

Oh my goodness! What a shocker, I expected this to be buttery and heavy on the foodie baked goods notes. Its completely the opposite! In the imp this is very much like Diary of a lovestruck teen cannibal with less lemon, less candy and more freshly fried foodieness. Wet on my skin this smells EXACTLY like the autumn fruit Yankee candle wax tart I burn in my room. Whats that all about?! It still has it's bakey charm, but it's loaded with fruits and do I detect a slathering of syrup? Drying down this is still reallllly fruity. It's the ripest, juciest red and dark fruits you can imagine. It's just bursting at the seams! Fruity buttery pancakes indeed! With a shot of vodka?! Jammy fruity pancakes and vodka, I dare say!

In the imp this is a creamy and soft blend. It's almost like coconut sun tan lotion. It has a slight edge of something, but I don't know what! Wet on my skin this is morphed into burnt sugared coconut. It's the sugar note in Sugar Skull! Dry this is a beautiful burnt cocktail of coconut, sugar, blushing berries perhaps and the smallest squeeze of lemon. And this gorgeous cocktail has been served in a hand carved and delicate wooden chalice! There is a resin background that just grounds the whole blend. It's seamless and just lovely. It's just GORGEOUS on me! Where can I find more?!

In the imp I get a huge whiff of orange washing powder!? It's headachey and boozey. Oh please please please don't be like that on my skin.... Wet on my skin this continues to give me a sore nose, throat and head. It's just cloying to my skin and smelling of nothing much more than burnt orange rind and alcohol sprinkled with... soap powder! Drying down there is the smokey amber! And the ripe red berries. That's more like it! It's taking forever to dry down. It's ripened into a deep smokey plum, with absolutely no trace of orange, YAY! It took it's sweet time though, and I am not sure how worth it this scent is. It really does give me a thumping sore head for the first 20 minutes. I'll keep her and see how she bodes with age

In the imp this is toasted coconuts and almonds drizzled with fig juice! It's a greenish scent, possibly grounded by the sandalwood. Wet on my skin toasted coconut! Plain and simple. Absolutely lovely. Drying down, my coconut has little droplets of fig fruit curled up inside it, and a splash of milky goodness. This is a deep and sensual warm blend, which is foodie to me! I am so glad the greenery is gone, because that was worrying. The coconut note is definitely the sweet and ripe one like in Obatala. It's meaty and juciey and has great staying power!

An absolutely wonderful Aussie sent me a surprise half decant of this and WOA! It's blue berry pie smothered in sweet and ripe berry wine. It's delicious! Wet on my skin this is a much more realistic blueberry, bursting with juices and sugared slightly with icing powder. Drying down this is still ripe blueberry, slightly warmed up and slathered in even more icing powder! It's very soft and fruity, yet grounded by a backdrop of bakery goods. I absolutly adore this scent!

As everyone else has said, this is the perfume oil in a skooshie big bottle. It's LOVELY! I feel bad spending so much on such a small bottle, but you really only need one or two skooshies to make your room smell divine! The only thing I have noticed is the slight earthy/moss note when sprayed on my pillow. I can really pick it up then, but not in the air. It's still gorgeous, and I will sparingly use and treasure this!

In the imp all I can smell is wet tabacco and congnac. Where the heck is my sugar spun vanilla cream??????!!!!!! Wet on my skin flowers, petals, flowers, florals, yuckies blah. Drying down to nothing much of anything. I am horribly disapointed. I could cry. I wanted a slightly smokey vanilla cream slathered in musk. I never got ANY of that. It has dried down to the faintest breath of tobacco and congnac. Thats it. Perhaps age will bode well with this one... But I doubt I can keep it long enough without getting annoyed at it LOL!

In the imp, dusky is SPOT ON! It's a wafting and mysterious bunch of candied berries with a slight jolt of sugar. Wet on my skin, this turns to LUSH's snow fairy on my skin! It's my absolute favorite bath and shower gel. So this works wonders for me It even has that soapy clean undercurrent, which I looooove. Drying down, melting into my skin of death and doomination! My skin just swallows this whole. Which is horribly disapointing. I LOVED it wet. Why can't it stay that way? It's still gorgeous, but it's just so faint. Perhaps if I slather ALL over it will stay? Or perhaps this is one for the scent locket. I smelt no apple whatsoever at any point in testing this scent. Which is a huge yay for me because synthetic apple in any way shape or form makes me headachey and sick...

In the imp this is sweet pea infused pear! It's ridiculously sweet, yet satisfying to us foodies Wet this has subdued to a sexy vanilla slathered sweet pea, strawberry and pear smoothie! It's blended to perfection. And indeed, just a little bit silly! It screams of girly pinkness! Which is perhaps not so great... Drying down this is a smooth and creamy sugared pear and strawberry smoothie with a little swirl of honey. It's a little less silly, less cloying and just lovely really! I can't wait for my bottle to arrive

Original Midway In the bottle it's salty vanilla water. Not what I was expecting at all! On my skin it's a very light popcorn vanilla, quite sweet and lighthearted. Dry, it's almost gone. My skin eats this up. Look out for an original bottle of midway in the swaps section people! Miday res In the imp this is just like the original with an extra jolt of sugar, MUCH more to my tastes It's got more atmosphere and depth than the original. Perhaps age is not a great thing with some scents? Wet this is sweet and sugary vanilla popcorn. LOVE ITTTTT! Drying down, exactly the same, with a sprinkle of salt. It's got great staying power and throw. I adore this

CCCLVII My first EVER chaos review. I was generously frimped this recently, and for my first one I am swoooooning. What a bummer, I probably wont be able to find more of this! In the imp this a resin lemon cake. Sounds strange huh? Its soft and bull bodied and completely rooted. I love that the lemon is firmly put in place by the creamy bakery goodness... whatever that may be. Wet on my skin this has morphed into underpants and bigger critters love child! Still with that slight lemon zing! But it's not citrusy and it is not fruity... as such. Drying down this is a gentle resin, creamy, saffron bakery scent. It actually makes me think of a very grown up and not so deranged lovestruck teen cannibal. It's earthy, rooted and well balanced. Still with that slight zingy kick, but it's not outwardly lemony.

... This is the scent of autumn night, fires in the distance, with a touch of boozy swoon, playful sugar and thuggish musk. In the imp this is a fully loaded burnt ginger sugar cookie! Seriously, it's foooody. Wet on my skin, the poor cookie has been dropped in a pile of autumn leaves. Still wet and not quite crisp. It's being trampled, poor little dear. Smatterings of gingerbread cookie crumbs all wet and dirty Drying down, This is one soggy cinnamon cookie! It's a wee shame. It's an angry little cumby thing indeed and turned crimson with rage! I love this scent, for the cute factor I have pictured in my head. I prefer the sweetness of Ginerbread poppet as my gingerbread scent. I mean this is nice, but it's no poppet! And I know it's not supposed to be a foody scent really, but thats exactly what it is on me!

In the bottle this has a slight feel of Mme Moriarty combined with shango and bengal, but it's completely subdued! Wet on my skin it's a dirty earthy scent, certainly NOTHING like I expected. I don't understand where the moss like features and aquatic feel comes from. There is a slight edge of spice, clearly the ginger. And a powdery overlay which has to be the candied fruits. Drying down this just smells wrong. It doesn't smell seamless or blended to perfection, which I was hoping for. I wanted it to be deeper, a little more foodyesque and certainly richer. Instead it's bland and really not that exciting. I will test again in a few days. I have had a stressful day at work, so perhaps thats why it smells of nothing very exciting

In the imp I smell spicy snake oil?! Is this not supposed to be drowned in honey? Wet on my skin, oh THERE it is! It's amped and vamped honey! Lots of it. It's lovely though and does remind me of a 3 year old imp of snake oil I have. It's a heavy and heady scent, yet luxurious and not headachey. I think the honey adds a creamy and sweeter quality to the snake oil and it is rather lovely! Drying down, this is a sticky honey ooze covered snake oil. I like it a lot. But I don't think it suits it's name or description at all! Womb Furie is a decadent and womany scent to me. It's thick and sticky on my skin, almost like a sexy and sweet moisture ridden musk. It does however have a sickly quality. I think I can live with just an imp though. It's not made it into my top ten scents unfortunatley. EDIT: On further dry down, something has went horribly wrong. This is just a sickly sweet headache. I think it may have to find a new home

In the imp this is a gentle blend of honey and vanilla flower. The important thing to note it's vanilla flower. It is a floral blend to my nose, which is really not what I expected or wanted Wet, I have now realised that I amp honey to the max! It's a thick and glutonous blend of honey and blossoms. I don't know what osmanthus is... is it a floral? If so, it's making this just that little bit more headachey It smells slightly like spring blossoms, light and powdery. Drying down this is just a big floral mess with a glaze of honey. No giner, no musk.... no beloved vanilla. I need to get this floral haze off me now!

At first sniff, I get a simple concoction of plum sandalwood. It's spiked plum punch with a bit of earthy goodness. Wet on my skin, this is a bizarre sandalwood blend. Plum is still the top note, firmy rooted by the sandlewood. Oh and whats this? A little sneaky creamy vanilla?! It's sweet and sensual, but the sandalwood does pinch my nose slightly. Lovers in a ricefield has finally dried down to a pleasant blend. It's creamy and fruity and still slightly spiced by the sandalwood. I have no idea what wild rice smells like in the form of an oil, but I don't smell any of it. What happened to my lovers in their ricefield?!. It's pretty, but I am not in love with this as I have been with some of the other shungas. It certainly can't compare to the creamy and ethereal Lovers with rutting cats.

In the imp all I can smell is tea, mhyrr and lotus. It's sweet yet has a light insence quality. It's not fruity in the imp at all... Oh me it's a wonderful giant vanilla peach dipped in gently warmed red tea. It's lovely! A slight spicy quality which is almost like carnation. Perhaps it's the mhyrr or lotus? I can never figure out exactly what those notes smell like! Drying down to a light and ethereal fruit tea... a steamy and wafting cup for sure. It's warmed up significantly on my skin. As I am typing I get lots of little sniffs of it. It's like I have a cup of fruit tea right next to me, but I dont! Definatley great throw on this one. I get absolutely no vanilla from this blend, but I do think that somewhere it must ground it and give it that gentle and creamy quality. It definatley tames the fruits and the lotus. And I am sure it stops me from getting a fruit overdose headache. This is lovely, but I can't see myself wearing it that often. Not like I slather myself in other blends lol. I think an imp would do for those rare occassions I need to smell like the finest cuppa money can buy

White Chocolate, Strawberry, and White Pepper Truffle
TulaMontage replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
Oh noooo! I am gutted to have to say I am disgusted by the smell of this! It smells like freshly puked booze and strawberry ice cream to me. It's the pepper! It's just vomit in a little bottle. And I even put it on my skin, and there are no redeeming features at all! Does nobody else smell this foul little beastie?! -
This makes me swoooon! It smells exactly like my usual order at the cinema, a blue raspberry and cherry mixed Ice Blast with hot sweet and butter popcorn. It's fizzy and fruity and utterly delectable. This is a sweetie lovers dream, and it is utterly artificial, but in the best way possible! It's not trying to be anything other than completely bad for you, and I adore this. This scent is a perfect cinema novelty factor and I think I will have to wear it each time I go! Cherry popcorn.... now THATS an idea Someone let me buy a bottle?!
-
At first sniff this is chocolatey gooey sticky googly eyeballs! It's just so creamy and gluttonous and fabulous! Wet on my skin, this is a squishy little puddle of marshmallow chocolate loveliness. And I want to take a chunk out of my wrist! OH WAIT! Someone has dipped a hot glue gun into a giant pot of hot chocolate with little bits of fluffy pink and white goo. It's the very essence of being naughty, and it's comforting really. I adore this, and I need to find me a bottle!
