    Die, Sweetly Die

At first, there’s a blast of juicy blood orange and black cherry. The fruits are balanced with dark, spicy florals - jasmine and tuberose. It’s energizing and sexy - something to wear to go out dancing. I love how well the fruits blend with the flowers, just lovely overall effect.

    Joyful Moon

For being fifteen years old, this decant still retains a good deal of scent. This is a sweet, girly floral perfume, like from a department store. I think it’s mostly white musk, vanilla, and as for the floral notes, orris and honeysuckle. I’m not really getting any rose, and I don’t know what ambrette, frangipani and angelica smell like specifically. But I’m sure they’re there – this doesn’t smell like any one flower in particular but a varied bouquet. Very nice!

    Leaf Spirits

Vetiver is the star here. Smoky and peppery. The spicy sweet clove is also noticeable, and the nutmeg. I like it. I like the smokiness and spices, how they blend with the vetiver. The peppery note fades after time. Soft woods and amber come forth. If it had a tad more throw, I’d get a bottle.

    Datura Blossom

I’ve never smelled real datura blossom, but to me, this is a cross between rose and orchid, with a syrupy sweetness like cough syrup. Lush and seductive.

    Villain

A gentleman’s cologne - soft powdery lilac, gentle lavender, and light lime. Masculine and clean. I’ll gift to my husband.

    Convivial Vulva

Girly sweet strawberry punches me in the face straight off! After a couple minutes, I also get the cherry blossom. No marshmallow or amber to be found. Fun, happy, cheerful. Nice but don’t need a whole bottle.

    Radiant Entanglement

I like the tropical fruits in this update – the akebia and guava in Festival Acrobatics, and the dragonfruit here. Dragonfruit has a light, pleasant, sweet scent, so it pairs well with white tea, which is also light and pleasant. The honey and orchid play in the background (no hibiscus for me, though.) The orchid at times almost overpowers the dragonfruit, then fades back. I’m not a fan of when that happens, will probably swap.

    Festival Acrobatics

Akebia, the main ingredient, is defined as “chocolate vine.” It appears to have violet fruit pods with edible white pulp. It smells banana-ish. Then there’s the guava - tart and juicy. I’m not picking up any melon or iris. This is pure tropical fruit, with a hard candy vibe (as Meerkat said). Very sweet, strong fruit essence. Nice but don’t need a whole bottle.

    Discarded Weapons

It seems I can’t have enough rice scents! Here, the toasted rice is perfectly complemented by the roasted coconut. Together, they shine. I can also pick out a tiny bit of fig and almond. No champaca. It’s really all about the rice and coconut. Of all the Lupers, this is the one I most need a bottle of!

    Poolside Perfume

A cool floral blend. Spicy jasmine is the first note I can pick out. I need to try a single note blue musk because I really don’t know it. This feels like drinking an ice cold glass of jasmine tea relaxing by the pool with flowers all around.

    Draconic Bedtime Stories

This is a fully “head shop” dragon’s blood incense note, mixed with the somnolence of lavender and sharpness of fir. Since I love dragon’s blood (and pretty much all incense blends), this was a must for me. I’ll wear it to bed or when I need to chill out at work.

    Pumpkin Spice Halo-Halo

This is so creamy, sweet and rich! I’m really picking up the ube ice cream and evaporated milk. I recently had some ube French toast with condensed milk, so this reminds me of it – buttery, decadent and sweet without being cloying. I’m not really getting any mango, coconut, or pumpkin spice to be honest. But that’s fine – this is just a heavenly blend that foodies will adore.

    Little Lady Macbeth

A gentle currant cake blend. Lightly fruit, sweet, honeyed currant cake. Simple and lovely.

    The Serpent in the Roses

I’ve tried several of these serpent/snake blends now, and they always make me seek out more! Here we have the syrupy vanilla spike of Snake Oil with soft rose. The snake is strong on me, the rose is not super present. It’s there, but very subtle. Can’t go wrong with these blends, but I don’t think I need a full bottle.

    Rose Milk Tea

Nice almond milk tea with rose petals. It’s light, not crazy-sweet – definitely more almond milk than condensed milk. No tapioca that I can tell. Overall this is a pretty, calm, all-purpose wearable creamy rose blend.
  16. The tobacco flower is strong, with a hint of citrus from the orange blossom. So on me, this has a masculine cologne vibe. Clean, crisp, sharp. I get autumn leaves, no patchouli. It’s OK, I’ll have to let my husband try it on.

Couple Engaged in Intimate Acts as the Man Pours Tea

Wow, this is different, and so addictive. Warm rice with jasmine tea. There’s a strong smokiness. I don’t get yuzu or vanilla – this is more savory on me. It’s like straight up unsweetened jasmine tea and a bowl of rice. I LOVE it.

    Cascade of Tissues

This is like a sweet, fruity kids’ cereal chock full of marshmallows. Think Fruity Pebbles and Lucky Charms in a huge bowl in front of Saturday morning cartoons. After a minute the pomegranate syrup comes out - red, fruity and sweet. This is cute and nostalgic but I’d prefer it to be a bit stronger.

Lingering Plum Scent in the Sleeping Chamber

Wow, I forgot how much I love the lab’s plum blends. So bold, lush and fruity. Here the plum is combined with the sweet and sour ume blossom and a touch of medicinal lavender that I mistook for basil because it’s so herbaceous. I’m not getting any clove or honey. Very a nice, a keeper!

    The Ruby Chocolate Rider

The red berries bring out the fruity qualities of the ruby chocolate, while the passion flower accentuates its floral aspects. I’m not getting any leather, moss, or balsam. Just a fruity, creamy, lightly floral ruby chocolate. Realistic and nice!

A Record Book of Ships Entering the Harbor

A soft, subtle perfume that whispers of vanilla and sandalwood. More sandalwood than vanilla, so it’s not very sweet or anything. Maybe the suggestion of tobacco in the background? Pretty but too subtle for me.

    Hush

I’m sick right now and I find this blend so soothing and calming. It’s mostly lemon myrtle and lavender on me. Cool, herbaceous, and a little sweet. Not too heavy. I’m not getting any ylang ylang, tangerine or sandalwood, but that’s fine!

    Snakes in the Berry Sonker

Every time I think I have enough “Snakes in the…” I try a new one and don’t know how I lived without it. Here, the vanilla and incense of Snake Oil blend seamlessly with cooked berries and a realistic buttery baked crust. I don’t really notice ice cream or molasses, but this is just so good. You can have Serpent in the Berries, the Sufganiyots, and still need this - they’re all unique and lovely.

    Pomegranate Ink

On first try I really did not care for this. There is a tart, juicy pomegranate mixed with a sickly floral and almost mildew note. And it’s bizarrely nostalgic because it smells like my late mother in law’s house, which had some flooding issues and sometimes just smelled damp. (I promise I loved going to her house regardless, ha! It was a good nostalgia!) I decided to give it another try before swapping, because I have allergies and my nose hates me sometimes. I do like it better this second try. I think the “mildew” is actually the ink note. It’s kinda damp and dark. It really keeps the pomegranate from being overly sweet. It’s tartness is highlighted. So maybe second time’s a charm – I’ll hang onto it awhile.

    Incolumitas

The strongest note on my skin is a gentle, clean lavender. After a few minutes I also get very soft patchouli, vanilla and sage. It’s so gentle, relaxing and comforting. I’d definitely snag a bottle if it became available!
