I would totally do the same thing with a procrastination book I have tried to start small but then weeks go by and stuff has built back up again. Aside from getting packages one reason I hate mail is all the catalogs from mail-order stores. Those then have to be thrown out but for each one that comes in (along with all the other junk mail) I have to tear off the address label and put it in the shred pile. The shred pile is filled with the labels and then those checks credit card companies issue in their statements in hopes that you'll borrow even more money, receipts, and on and on. It is amazng the amount of paperwork generated from day to day life. Not to mention all the menus and cleaning service/moving company ads that get stuffed under my door (I call that floor spam) and crap stuck under my windshield. It just makes me want to scream!
ahem. I feel better now

Haha, I think of Prince whenever someone uses 'u' or '2' as an abbreviation too Drives me nuts. I just want to say "you are not Prince and you are not funky!"

Much hate for HFCS. It's in every damn thing these days

Hmm, I think we stealth Leos need to band together. I'm so glad to hear there are others like me
-
So consider yourself a "stealth Leo." People don't know what's going to hit them when you're quiet and fly under the radar!
Haha, very true! I guess that's what takes people by suprise when I do come out of my shell. Yay for Leos!

Wow, that sounds like more fun than when my dad thought it would be a great idea to dump hot ashes in the garden on Christmas eve. Nothing like scanning the skies for Rudolph only to see flames in the front yard
Glad no one was hurt!

That's really an impressive amount of time, so don't be hard on yourself. It sounds amazing, really! I've always wanted to be bold enough (and tough enough) to get a tattoo, but I doubt I will. It's an incredible art form, I think. Hope it's feeling better!
Thanks! It's not sore anymore...now I've moved on to the infernal itchy stage.
I am beginning to believe that tattoos are serendipitous things that happen when all the right elements come together: i.e. the right artist, the right idea, the right time. I think if you find that you want to get one you'll be bold enough to do so when everything falls into place.

It's tough losing a furry member of the family

That is the exact same way we adopted one of our kitties when I was growing up. All of a sudden a gray tabby started to hang around the yard and after a few weeks one day we just opened the door and she came in and made herself at home. When we took her to the vet they said she'd been fixed and was about five or six years old. We guess she was someone's pet but no one ever posted signs for a missing cat. It took a few weeks but the other three cats adjusted to her presence just fine. If Star isn't that old I'm sure she'll be fine with a new companion (unless she's really aggressive - then I'd put more thought into it)

Holy shmoly, that's impressive

Hope your husband (and you) are feeling better.
edited for improper grammar, ack.

I wish I had my old ringtone, which was cicadas. It was nice and chill but different enough to grab my attention when it rang. Now I just have the standard generic variety that comes with the phone. I had a Katamari ringtone for about a day but it was obnoxious when it rang and I couldn't adjust the volume.

That's so totally true about that Roxette song! I loved that song when it came out but it makes absolutely no sense.

Ooh, Vegas! VegasVegasVegasVegas!!!
*ahem* Maybe you should go in July? Just a thought
Hehe, yeah I'm definitely tempted plus if I survived Arizona in August I can probably do Vegas in July.
Head, meet brick wall. Repeat.

My sister was in a very similar situation (her husband immigrated here with his family after the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan) and for the longest time her (then future) in-laws would pretend that she didn't exist and would try to set their son up with 'suitable' women of their choosing while they were dating. The one main difference is that she did convert to Islam (her own choice but I do not know the details). Shortly after that my sister and brother in-law had a small religious ceremony which her in-laws did not attend. A few months later they had a civil ceremony and again they did not attend. At that point they realized she wasn't going away and they finally accepted her into the family and several months later she had an 'official' (another religious) wedding with his whole family in attendance.
I guess the whole point of that was to say that despite all of the resistance they just might change their minds when they see how committed you are to their son and that you make him happy.
