How do you apply your BPAL oils?

Do you apply using a wand or pour onto your thumb and apply? Do you worry your skin oil will contaminate the oil? I wear moisturiser and sunscreen on my body. So I am concerned that when I apply the oil using the wand, the wand will get contaminated when I put the wand back into the bottle. Even using the finger. Is there a way to minimise it? Or do you have ideas on how to apply oil without direct contact to the skin. I noticed that some of my oil has changed, like become weaker? Not sure if it's due to my skin contaminating it. Perfume oils are unlike perfume sprays where you can spray without any skin contact. Thanks!

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info

Can someone tell me who I can email regarding an order? I ordered on 26th nov and I still have not received a CnS. I am getting impatient because people who have ordered later than me have already received a CnS.

    Gelt

omg this is the most yummy and realistic chocolate scent ever. It smells like milk chocolate but a little powdery. Never smelled bliss so I cant compare. update: The final dry drown is so gross. It smells like a wet dog or something. seriously.
  4. Is there anything which smells like white phoenix? I tried it today and it's really lovely. Kinda floral sweet.

    Oh, the strawberries, the strawberries!

titania isnt strawberry at all. It's sweet but definitely not strawberry. I didnt get strawberry from hollywood babylon. bon vivant...a little. I think I got more strawberry from aunt caroline's joy mojo on the dry down. I love it. It's a great scent.
  6. perversion smells similiar to red lantern but lighter. grog reminds me of eggnog I think. Anyone think so?

How long do bottles & imps last?

How much oil do you apply from imps? I find it hard to apply a lot from the imps because the stick is so small. So I feel like Im not applying it enough because I cant really smell it on me.
  8. That makes a lot of sense to me. On me, Pumpkin 3 mostly smelled like caramel and ultimately got a little too strong and burnt-sugary for me. (My skin really amps caramel a lot and in some blends takes it over into burnt sugar territory. I remember that happened with La Befana too, even though that one didn't have caramel listed as a note but "candy charcoal." Which kind of sounds like burnt sugar when I think about it now But I know that's not what it smelled like on everyone!) With Sugar Skull, I get a hint of caramel when it's wet but somehow it does work on me. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the sugary notes that Beth uses in blends where she lists "candy" or "sugar" get used in her caramel blends as well. oh dear I have a bottleof enraged groundhog musk coming my way and it has caramel. I hope it doesnt turn to sugar skull too. Have you tried it? Gluttony has caramel right? But it turned to smoke on me.
  9. This is so bizarre! Pumpkin 3 dried down to sugar skull on me. Anyone realise that? Pumpkin 3 morphs a lot. In the beginning, it smelled like Jack but less syrupy. Then the chocolate came out and it was a milder version of one of the 13ths. Now it's sugar skull.
  10. Is there anything which smells like body shop's moringa milk body lotion? I've never heard of moringa milk but the smell is creamy floral. I think it kinda reminds me of alice but creamier and milkier?

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I dont know where to post this question. I got an imp of bordello and mouse's sad and long tale directly from the lab and I think I may have gotten a dud. Both scents are incredibly light, I could barely smell anything. I've read how bordello has tons of throw but mine has no throw at all. Other weaker scents are actually stronger than this bordello. Also I couldnt smell anything from mouse's sad and long tale. It is so faint! It's like nothing. Im very disappointed.
  12. I like aunt caroline's joy mojo and eat me alot. Can someone recommend a scent along those lines?
  13. faeriedust

    Eat Me

In the vial: It smelled similiar to cockaigne but with berry. On the skin: White cakey with blueberry. Dry down: vanilla cake. Not much blueberry. It's actually quite strong on me which is surprising since white cake scents are very faint. I love this a lot more than cockaigne. I can almost smell the soft fluffy texture of the cake.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

In the imp: It smells similiar to Jailbait except it's strawberry bubblegum as opposed to Jailbait's minty bubblegum On my skin: Bubblegum and pink lemonade Dry down: omg the best candy scent ever!!! It seriously smells like this pink strawberry chewy candy strips which has sugar on the outside. I cant believe I took so long to try this. I'll probably get a bottle. It lasts longer than most other fruity sweet scents and stronger too. Not too sure about the throw

BPAL Fruit Blends - the many variations

Jester is berry fruity sweet. March hare is fruity. Yup it's very juicy and realistic. It almost makes my mouth water. But the drydown is kinda spicy because of the clove. The hamptons is fruity and fizzy. Titania is sort of fruity. It's more like hard candy but definitely sweet.

Spice me, baby! The spiciest BPAL blends

I agree with the recs on bengal and chimera. Although chimera is sweeter. I didnt find morocco spicy.

Thanks everyone. Im not so confused anymore.
  18. I've been going crazy trying as many sweet scents recommended here and here's what I've found and tested.I've realised there are different types of sweet. candy/fruity/foody sweet. sugar skull- really sugary sweet. dont find it really foody midway - not foody and not fruity sweet but candy sweet. Jester- fruity sweet The hamptons - not really fruity sweet. Almost candy march hare - wow. almost fruity sweet because of the apricot. But also somewhat candy sweet. love this. Jezebel - floral sweet. not fruity or candy sweet at all. nice. Titania - candy sweet. Like those hard candies if you know what I mean. Siren - sweet but sort of spicy because of the ginger. Akuma - citrusy sweet? blood lotus - bubblegum sweet. But I dont find it that sweet. Must be the dragon's blood. cockaigne - foody and sorta spicy. not sweet hellcat - very boozy. not sweet. hollywood bablyon and maenad - a little sweet but something stops them from becoming very sweet. dont like them. There were quite a number of scents which people have found sweet and I dont. Haha I love sweet scents a lot soooo they have to be really sweet in order for me to find them sweet.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I think this has been mentioned before but antique lace smells exactly like stila creme bouquet. I dont think dragon milk smells like creme bouquet though.

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations

gluttony was not foody and yummy on me. It turned to smoke and dried down very smokey. What could be the note which caused that? Is there any oil which smells like strawberry jam filled pastries? amour de cacao smells like cookies with orange custard to me. dragon's milk was creamy floral on me. It dried down a bit playdohish. sad. The bpal scents I've tried so far turn weird on me.

    Gluttony

I bought this imp from someone. I think it's quite old because the label looks pretty old and yellowed. So Im not sure if the oil turned bad. In the vial : very smoky. Not sweet at all. No chocolate. No caramel. Just very smoky. On my skin : It's a bit nutty but there's the same smoky smell which is overpowering. I am so disappointed. Im not sure if it's because the oil is old or it's just my skin. I was expecting this to be super sweet.
  25. I might not be reading this correctly, but I wanted to make it clear that BPAL "makes" all their oils. All the perfumes are hand-blended by Beth. However, since she can't hand-blend air, she gets the raw materials from different suppliers. It would be impractical for her to try to produce all the raw scents necessary to blend so many different perfumes - I don't think ANY one producer produces all the different oils. So "ordering oils from suppliers" means getting vanilla absolute, cocoa absolute, cinnamon oil, lavender, resins, etc. etc. from suppliers (though Beth may produce some of them herself, I don't know). BPAL itself is created entirely by Beth from these supplies - so yes, BPAL makes their oils. Believe me, the kind of blending and creating that she does is a full-time job without needing to add producing all the raw materials herself. Yea I meant I didnt know the raw materials are from suppliers. I thought they make it themselves. Like it's more exclusive? Because wouldnt other etailers use the same supplier oils too? Do they use normal fragrance oil too? I've always wondered how fragrance oils are made. I know essential oils are from plants etc.
