Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie?
Probably some of the TAL's -- energy, white light, bastet's laughter, anthelion, peace, etc. I am only decants of them (except anthelion) and would love to have 5ml's.

If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients?
The Pacific NW is a myriad of scents, the most prominent being GREEN and RAINY from September to July. But there are many many more depending on where you hang out. I would add clove (clove cigarettes and oil mixed with henna on hands/skin), roses (the rose garden), lavender (tons of lavender farms), honey (lots of beekeepers; I had honey bees in my back yard in a hollow cotton wood tree!), apples (tons of apple orchards!), chocolate (I know many Seattle based chocolate companies), coffee (duh!), patchouli (lots of hippies!), sandalwood (tons of incense stores), and wow -- I'm not sure this would smell good.
Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like?
I wouldn't mind a couple of small roller bottles, especially in cobalt, purple, or green! Ooh. And maybe some larger ones for my bath oil since I don't actually use it as bath oil very often.

I like Maleficent -- how can you go wrong with black, purple, and dragons?? Was the new Tim Burton "Alice in Wonderland" disney? I really liked Alice in this movie, especially how she didn't feel that she needed a man to be successful or happy. Too many Disney heroines equate men/love with happiness/success. Although I did like Belle in Beauty and the Beast initially since she (1) knew how to handle a horse properly (2) was a book worm and (3) wasn't interested in the guy just because he was hot and had muscles. Don't get me wrong, I love men and my boyfriend. But my goals were never just to get married and pop out kids. Which probably explains why I'm still not married.

I love love love gemstones. I would like some stones that are beneficial in overcoming depression, sloth, anxiety, etc. and promote happiness and energy.

I would feel weird if someone bought me used shoes and new shoes that I like would be too expensive. I think I answered the shoe size question in my original questionnaire but I'm a US size 10 womens. I mostly wear Fluevogs and Converse. I have a pair of Birkenstocks for loafing around the house and a pair of slip on sandals that I wear all summer. I wear aquasox and tevas when boating.

I loathe heels with a passion, mostly because I can't walk in them and they hurt. I like knitting handbags but otherwise prefer messenger bag type bags. But yes, I like my traditionally girly things to be either geeked or gothed up big time.

Um. I'll have to look when I get home since I destashed quite a bit. Scentbase still claims around 1200 regular sized bottles.

Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Honestly, I don't have any of my own art on my walls (except a calendar and a few framed photos of my dogs) because we were living in the basement MIL apartment of the BF's dad.. and dad had all of his framed photos of planes everywhere. He passed away in May but we haven't taken anything down yet... eventually we will take it all down, get rid of the nasty wood paneling and sheetrock, mud, paint, etc. And then I have a ton of gargoyles that will probably go up on the walls and *some* framed art, mostly made by my friends like the ones on Slumberland.org that say "collection of S. Walker".

Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I luuuuuuuuuv fantasy. Epic. Fantasy. I have most of the fantasy that I read except for the unreleased ones. Although I have pre-ordered the new Terry Pratchett book already, I am WAITING on pins and needles for a bunch of the unreleased books on my amazon wish list, all are marked HIGH PRIORITY.

Yes, I like soap. But I make my own cold process hand milled soap so I don't ever purchase any.

I don't draw. Nice pens are probably wasted on me but I do love purple pens that write smoothly.

YARN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need some blocking wires and pins. I can always use more gothy stitch markers or cute stitch markers with gargoyles, bats, skulls, pit bulls, or whatnot. I prefer stitch markers in a range of sizes from needle size 2 up to 11.

Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind?
eh, my hair fluctuates between being shaved and awkward to do anything with. The only hair toys I really love are dreadfalls.

In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats?
I love wrist warmers! I don't really like cowls so much, even the ones that fasten instead of just slipping over the head, and I have a few already since I knit, my mom knits, my friends knit, etc. Slippers might be fun, I have some felted slipper patterns in my favs on Ravelry. I don't wear knitted hats. I could use a knitted headband maybe! Lately I've been into little shawls worn around the neck like scarves.

Not really one way or another. It depends on the item I suppose? I love reusing cute little tins for things but when someone says upcycled clothing, I think of Regretsy.

If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist?
My mom always makes me super long skinny ones so I have a lot of those. I'd actually prefer shawlettes or a big shawl. Or a rectangular wrap that is wide enough to wear like a shawl but could also double as a head covering or scarf.

Mmmm snobby expensive chocolate! Most other candy is loaded with corn syrup which I am trying to avoid, but I would probably nom it down anyway because I'm weak like that. I would love to try Wine Gums or interesting candy from other countries.

Loose leaf is generally higher quality tea but I use tea bags too.

I love them dearly and love Portland. With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I would like the slow build up but since I already received a huge Villainess GC which was totally awesome, we've started off with a bang!! And I'm not complaining!
What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I just switched from Prescriptives to M*A*C. I just pre-ordered all of the Venomous Villians that I want so really I'm pretty set with makeup. I'm not a huge makeup person really (I rarely wear eyeshadow and am horrible at applying it) but I'm always looking at the "smoky eye" tutorials and I could probably use some really nice makeup brushes, especially for eyes. I like black/grey/purple eye pigments/shadows. I don't like matte; I love the frost and glittery shimmery ones.

How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? I wish I had a gardener to come plant a ton of lavender, roses, herbs, etc. I would have a knot garden, a huge rose garden, and all sorts of themed gardens (shakespeare, night, butterfly, etc.) But our yard is not really set up for any of this and I'm unsure where to begin (and get overhwhelmed just thinking about it, yay autism!) so... um... no. I kill plants in the house. I have no place really for drawings, art, or pressed flowers. I do use dried flowers sometimes in sachets (mostly lavender and rose petals.)

Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? I love Mariage Frères butterscotch tea. A friend in Germany sent me some and I've been hoarding it ever since! Socks? Sock Dreams? Anyone? I have one pair of hand knitted socks and would love more!! Otherwise I usually wear basic black socks that are a little more on the thick side. I rarely wear thin socks as those don't go too wear with my unisex fluevogs/docs/converse. Would love stripey socks (ala GothSocks type yarn.) Can't wait to knit a pair of Merino Cashmere socks!

When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? It really depends on the item. If I have pumpkin bread or salted caramels on my list and those are sold, I sure wouldn't mind getting pumpkin bread or caramels from some other seller! But if it's a particular piece of art, scent, jewelry, etc., then I'm more picky...
Do you wear make up? Yes. I used to wear Prescriptives but since they have gone out of business I switched to MAC. Waiting with baited breath for the Venomous Villains; I need most of the Maleficent line.
Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? Yea for Disney movies! My favorite animated ones are Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and... NMBC!!!! Loved Pirates of the Caribbean of course.

Nail Polish: I'm not hugely into nail polish. I'm waiting for the BPTP purple to come out and have Smokestack and Blood Countess. I have some nice OPI polish but I mostly wear it on the toes. I *rarely* wear polish on my fingernails.

Are you into Austen's books? Nope, haven't ever read any. I did recently download a few free Austen books in the kindle format for my iphone but they're pretty far down on the list. I have seen some of the movies based on the books.

What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? True Blood is the only show that I watch regularly (and Hung, simply because it's on right before or after.) I did watch Breaking Bad because someone gave it to me on a thumb drive. Otherwise I usually watch movies or Netflix streaming through my wii. Since getting Netflix streaming, I've watched all seven seasons of Buffy, re-watched Firefly, watched five seasons of Lost (six isn't streaming yet), all of Sanctuary that was available (two seasons?), and now I'm watching Angel. Occasionally I watch Legend of the Seeker (not really certain what time/channel it's on so that is hit or miss.) Oh, I watched all of The Riches on hulu.
If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? Hallowe'en plans? We usually dress in fetish gear of some sort combined with a halloween costume and hit the clubs. The boyfriend usually wins the costume contests and I must endure having our photo taken 5,000 times.
Mix CDs? Usually I say NO but scarletgenesis made me some pretty cool mix cds. I'm pretty picky about my music.

Gifts for other household members / pets? It's now just the boyflame, three canines, and myself. The boyfriend would probably love baked goods (he nommed down MotherKat's chocolate chip cookies from a PIF in record time) but the canines have a special diet in which they do not get any grains and I prefer to only do beef and fish proteins. So the safest thing anyone could get them, food wise, is probably just freeze dried beef liver or lung. But they love their planet dog orbee balls! I have toys and stuff for the dogs on one of my amazon wish lists and I love people who spoil my babies.
Home made goods? yes please! I don't like nuts or crunchy things in my caramels/fudge/cookies/brownies but I do like flavored nuts on their own. (It's a texture thing.) My aunt in Texas used to always send us huge bags of pecans in different flavors -- cinnamon sugar or whatnot. om nom nom! Love pumpkin seeds too! and salted caramels!!
Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? I'm not sure that I even necessarily need bpalz, but I'm ok with whatever my Witchee wants to do. Coffee or Tea? I like both. I am in both the tea and coffee swaps.
For tea: mostly black. But there are some green teas, herbal infusions, etc. that I love love love. I like flavored black and green tea. Tea with lemon. Tea with milk. Tea with honey. (depending on the tea of course.) Not really huge on the red (rooibos) or white teas. Oh, and I loves jasmine tea and black chai. Lately my tea kick has been chocolate raspberry with honey and cream. And Russian Caravan (I'm out! Gasp! I neeeeed more!!) Or at night, the Aveda tea or Sweet Dreams from the Teacup.
For coffee: Flavored coffee. Espresso. Lattes. Mochas. French press. Clover. Pretty much everything except drip. Because I don't have one of those.
Olive oil? yes! flavored is good too. Olive oil soap is lovely. I make a lot of cold process olive oil soap.
Lavender? yes! I used to have 11 different kinds of lavender bushes but now I only have one. And it mostly died last winter but I gave it a chocolate coated miracle pill and it mostly revived. But it still needs some time... When it gets going again I'll make lavender wands from the stems and flowers. I love lavender oil, soap, sachets, eye pillows, wands...

My most pressing goal is paying off all of my debt and then saving to buy a house again.
If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? I'm completely anal about what I'll let my canines have. Mostly because Miss Lela is extremely allergic to many many things. No grains! None! They get beef lung, beef tendons, beef heart, beef liver, all sorts of yummy raw things (I try to stick to fish and beef -- the cool proteins. Hot proteins tend to make her break out.) They get fed a home prepared raw diet. Yes, I cook every day -- for my dogs. Not for us. I don't have time to cook for us. Describe your ideal picnic lunch. Where would you go? Who (if anyone) would accompany you? What sort of food would you take? My ideal picnic lunch would be something like in "Emma" although with my friends, not hers, and not wearing really confining dress. And not with the snarkiness making one person sad. (We're all snarky at each other and laugh.) I would arrive on a friesian. I would prefer food that doesn't fall and try to splatter my shirt or pants. Fruit slices (apple and pear!), grapes, blueberries, greens tossed with a little oil and vinager (eaten with your fingers), cheese slices or cubes, rosemary/black pepper/asiago or other flavored crackers, pickles, crusty bread with brie and butter, salami and sausage slices or chunks, cold cuts, hummus (garlic... black bean... all sorts of yummy hummus flavors), olives (black, kalamata, or green stuffed with garlic or other yummy things), pitas, the little medieval cookies that I get at Camlann, sausage hedgehogs, pasties or little hand held meat/fruit pies or piroshky, roasted nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans), petit fours, iced tea, water, or wine. Possibly chocolate truffles and mead or ice wine for dessert. basically nothing that needs further preparation, a plate, or utensils (except the wine, although I supposed everyone could have their own bottle.) Everything you want can be carried on a slice of bread or pita and is mostly for snacking in between playing games with the dogs, people, and horses. (ok, that is more like an all day event, but... if you're going to do something, do it all out.)

I've been Natcho'd with the COOLEST Jester Tentacle Bag hand knitted by the fabulous LunaLiquid and would beg on my knees for more things knitted by her or Stariel. Stariel knits socks... she's FAST! You're in the kitchen at the end of a pay period and groceries are pretty scarce. Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? The first five ingredients I find are actually what I have to feed to the dogs (they get a home cooked meal) so I would be ordering out. (and by ordering out, I mean I would have to get in the car and go find something to eat. No one delivers to where I live.) Dogs have to eat first.

Any rabid sports fans out there? What teams do you root for? No, I pretty much dislike most sports and the frenzies spawned by them. The only kind of sports I like to watch are ones I have participated in, such as horse or dog related sports. Grand Prix Horseshow Jumping & three day eventing, gaming, agility, etc. I don't like horse racing or dog racing. My boyfriend is involved in motorsports so I spend way too much time going to events that he is driving in.

what's your favorite candy to stock up on at halloween? Vanilla tootsie rolls. I like the caramel apple pops too, but I don't stock up on them per se... although I did buy a couple of bags last year and gave them out with swaps. I like the 100 grand bars too.
What are your phobias? Erm. Nuclear war? I don't especially like being unable to move while having bugs on me. Bugs are ok if I can move and get away from them or take them off of me, but being unable to move and aware that they are on me is nasty.
What is your favourite flower (or plant)? Blue roses (they're really purple/lavender in color, but the term is "blue".) Sterling Silver (yeah yeah, it has genetic issues and bad ratings, but I love the color and fragrance!), Love Potion, Purple Tiger, Royal Amethyst, etc. Anything fragrant and purple, give it here. I'll also take really fragrant and not purple, such as Fragrant Cloud or Fair Bianca (white old english double ruffled rose that smells like myrrh.) I used to have 50+ rose bushes at my previous house - all extremely fragrant.), Lavender (I had 11 types of lavender, sniff), Lilacs, Butterfly Bushes, Chocolate cosmos, mint of all kinds, thyme of all kinds, purple basil, oregano, cilantro, pretty much all herbs, Stargazer or pink oriental lilies (the fragrant kind), large bearded irises (batik is my fav, they smell like grape), dianthus and carnations (love their spicy scent), hyacinth (I can usually smell them across the yard!), scented geraniums (I like the weird scents, like cinnamon, etc. scented geraniums come in all sorts of scents!), any ... pretty much anything that is extremely fragrant in a good way. (I hate daisies -- they smell like dog poop to me. I don't buy non-fragrant rose bushes or other plants.)

Are you an avid reader? What's your favorite book/series? I think I answered this in the form I sent in, but YES. I love George R. R. Martin, Robin Hobb, Neal Stephenson, JK Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Christopher Moore, and many many others. I just re-read the Kushiel series, the Sookie Stackhouse series, American Gods, Anansi Boys, and am currently re-reading Snow Crash. Then I might reread The Diamond Age or continue with the Zombie Survival Guide, haven't decided yet. I downloaded the Zombie Survival Guide and world War Z to Wattpad on my iphone and started the first one, but haven't really gotten into it. Wattpad is the greatest thing ever next to the Library. I have the Kindle App for my iphone too, but I prefer to download the free books from Amazon that I haven't read yet (tons of classics!!!) I've read one Jasper Fforde book and have the rest of them on my wishlist. I've downloaded most of the Naomi Novik books but have only read 1-3 (Temeraire.) I also have most of the Obernewtyn Chronicles but haven't started reading them yet. Same goes for the Chronicles of Elantra. I loved the original DragonLance series as well as the Drizzt Do'Urden books. (Now my son loves them.) I am very sad that Robert Jordan passed away (and didn't finish his Wheel of Time series - waiting for Brandon whats-his-name to finish the last book.) I used to read a lot of L.E. Modesitt, Jr. but haven't started his new Imager series yet. I think I've read everything Terry Goodkind has out (as well as watching Legend of the Seeker, the only exception is the newest book - The Law of Nines) as well as Terry Brooks (except the newest book, A Princess of Landover. But the Landover books weren't my fav.) My Amazon wishlist has a TON of books but if you want to get me anything, please keep in mind that I don't mind getting USED books and that I do prioritize. If the priority is low, I have already read it but it was borrowed from the library or something. If it's medium, I'm kind of "meh" about it. I mostly have it there as a placeholder so I don't forget to look for it at the library. Sadly most of the High or Really High things are either unreleased or expensive.
Any cooks? Could you use anything cooking related? Aprons? Cookbooks? Measuring Cups? Recipes? Herb/Spice containers? Fancy Spices? Dish Towels? Cocktail napkins? Amazing Beaded Pot Holders? Something else? I love to cook, but as I say every round, we have a kitchen the size of a postage stamp. I have a counter that is about 8.5x11". I have a very small fridge that is filled with ingredients to make food for the dogs. I rarely rarely ever cook anymore (except for the dog food.) I sold my house, BF sold his house, and we moved into the MIL basement of BF's father's house when BF's mom died. BF's father is diabetic and smokes, has major heart and breathing issues, blood sugar issues, etc. So we are there to keep an eye on him and help him out with things. I doubt we will move into our place until after BF's dad passes. Which could be next week or could be 20 more years. So... most of my kitchen stuff is packed up in boxes in the shed (along with the majority of my possessions) and I really have no place for kitchen stuff. I have two huge boxes full of spices that I never get to use. I have a ton of cookbooks that I never get to use. I would gladly accept home made treats of any sort, though. The only thing I make in my kitchen on a regular basis (besides dog food) is tea. I could probably squeeze in a scented teapot trivet. And I suppose dish towels and dish clothes. I could use some little tiny cutting boards that are just big enough to cut an apple on.

What was your favouritest job ever, and why? This is a hard one.
I really liked working at Microsoft because of the people. Hated the job itself (tech support.) Liked the company. Hated being a temp.
I really liked working at Mosaix (maker of unix boxes/digital switches/software that run call centers) because of the people and the job (unix sysadmin) but got offered more money at MCI to come be their personal unix sysadmin.
MCI/Worldcom was an awesome job, work and money wise, but it was in Denver so I had to commute home to Seattle on the weekends or whenever I could. And I had to pay rent in Denver and mortage at home in Seattle. And I didn't really know anyone in Denver and no one sat around me at the office. All of the people who used my unix boxes and my two call centers were in St. Louis or Upstate NY, so I had to travel to train them (which I liked. Upstate NY in the fall is purty!) If it had been in Seattle instead of Denver, it would have been my favorite job evah (except for no people in the office, but that was ok, I played a lot of online games from the backbone of the internet, bwahaha.)
I have been self employed and enjoyed that (selling PartyLite candles, making my own candles and soap, and selling Virtual items and gold for online games over eBay) but didn't make enough money as I was only motivated enough to sell things when I actually needed to pay bills rather than all the time.
I really enjoyed working as a Chandler for Sweet Spirit Candles (it was a fun part time job!) Except the owner was a jerk. I liked the other people that worked there though, and I love being around and making candles. Wicking wasn't my fav though. They went out of business because the new owners didn't know a thing about running one.
Current job - I enjoy the company and the people, but I don't like the work itself. I took this job at a major paycut in order to get my foot in the door --- and then the economy took a dump. So while I've been here two years, I'm just now getting to move to another position that is really just more of the same and at the same pay rate. boo hoo. Someday I'll get off the phones again. I hate talking on the phone. I'm used to RUNNING the call centers, not being a call center agent. Bleah. I like the benefits, though. om nom nom, coffee!

If you could decorate/redecorate any 1 room in your home, what would it be and how would you decorate it? The bathroom or the kitchen. They would become much larger and would get a nice floor that could be mopped instead of having CARPET. Really, wtf -- carpent in the kitchen or bathroom? It's disgusting. I have to put down rugs over the carpet so I can wash them continually since I don't have a carpet cleaner. *shudder* Both would get paint that could be washed instead of this nasty flat paint. The bathroom would get a new shower unit LIKE THIS!!! The kitchen would get more cabinets, counter space, and a dishwasher. And a decent stove. And a larger fridge. I could finally have room for an espresso maker and a toaster.
How do you take your coffee (or tea)? Black or with cream and/or sugar? Depends on the coffee or tea, really. I like Chocolate flavored black tea with cream and honey. I like some black tea with just honey. I like most herbal infusions (except Tazo Passion, that one is TART and requires sweetener!) and flavored green tea with no sweetener or milk. Sometimes I like tea with lemon, so obviously no cream there! I like black tea and london fog lattes. So... for black tea = depends on my mood. I take them sweetened OR sweetened and whitened.
Coffee: I like lattes -- so milk and a flavor, usually a thick syrup like caramel or chocolate (or cocoa powder and sugar that I mix up myself, like the scharffenberger. I try to avoid anything with corn syrup.) But if I'm doing french press or a tasting, I'll just have it straight black in a little demitasse. Clover I generally do cream and sugar with.
Do you believe we control our destiny, or does our destiny control us? I'm not really a determinist, no. I'm not sure which philosophical theory I believe in. I think more along the lines of infinite possible universes and they are split each and every time a decision is made.
What one thing that is missing from your life would you like to have above all else? Financial stability? *cough* A friesian? Not having Asperger's syndrome? A PhD? Our own place to live where no one smokes?? Too many, too many. I would probably like to have the ability to be closer to people. I feel like, and have always felt like, there is a huge wall between me and everyone else. No one understands me and I can't understand other people. Would be nice to have a soul mate or best friend that I could laugh with. I need more laughter. I love my boyfriend dearly but sometimes I feel like we don't understand each other well enough.

I love pumpkin cheesecake, haagen-dazs "hawaiian lehua honey & sweet cream" ice cream, moist chocolate cake (or cupcakes), spice cake, kahlua cream pie, key lime pie, marionberry pie and vanilla ice cream, chocolate mousse, home made chocolate chip cookies, pepperidge farm double chocolate milanos, chocolate truffles (especially cocoa velvet or vosges), salted caramels... and rhubarb crisp! peach cobbler! apple crisp! I'm so not picky.
In your perfect world it is chocolate and...? Not men. Men are hairy and I don't like hair in my chocolate. Unless you wax the guy first and give him a good buffing so no extra skin is peeling off, keep the chocolate off of him. Plus, good chocolate needs to be tempered... so just melting and pouring it on someone would be wrong. WRONG. Now if the guy was just DELIVERING chocolate... that is different. Bring THAT on. My perfect chocolates lately have been with anise, or rose caramel, or salted caramel, or orange caramel, or peanut butter truffle, or scotch truffle, or kahula truffle, or.... um. anything that Cocoa Velvet sells is good. Most of the truffles at Vosges are good (I really want to try the italian selection -- cheese and chocolate! olive oil! vinegar! interesting.)
How do you scent your home Tarts, reed diffusers, BPAL, candles? yes please. I really want an electric tart/oil warmer so I'll probably get that eventually. Right now I have candle powered tart and oil warmers, a reed diffuser, lots of candles (colonial candle of cape cod mostly), etc. And I have lots of bpal room sprays.
Secret Power: Time Stop would be nice. I could handle invisibility or teleportation as well.
For the tea and coffee drinkers: Opinion on tea- and/or coffee-related accessories/etc? I wouldn't mind having some air & light tight containers for tea or coffee beans. I would like a new espresso machine and coffee grinder (ha ha!) -- we are having a sale right now though, so I could get one if that were my priority. I don't have any place to put one at home. *weep* I can always use tea filters (I use the Swiss Gold tea filters.) And I can always use more honey for tea... I go through 12lb buckets like there is no tomorrow.
If I send you whole spices or coffee beans, would you be able to grind them or would you prefer them preground for your convenience? I have a burr grinder and a mortar/pestle and access to many commerical grinders at work. I am probably good on spices since I have two super huge boxes of them and no room to cook. Although I wouldn't turn my nose up at the hard to find medieval spices for when I get together with my friends (at THEIR house, lol) to cook fenberry pye, crustade lombarde, erbowle, and the like. om nom nom.
new question, because I'm learning how to sew - if you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.? There is a gargoyle pincushion on etsy that has been on my wishlist foreva. I can always use more yarn (see Kaboodle wish list for ideas. No acrylics please.) I'd love to learn how to make chainmaille and do wire wrapping, so books or supplies or both on that would be wonderful. I could use some crochet hooks for amigurumi. I'm learning how to needle felt, so maybe some roving or books (on my amazon wishlist even) on needle felting would be helpful. I'll always accept really cool fabric (bats! gargoyles! unicorns! cute dogs! preferably in blacks & purples rather than black & orange (thinking halloween stuff.) I could always use more fabric (felt or muslin or whatever) to put inside my scent lockets. I like to make critters and would welcome cute embellishments (buttons, button eyes, safety eyes, cool gemstones, beads, fabric, yarn (wool for felting critters - not superwash), etc.) I could always use more little retractable tape measures since I can never find mine!! And I can always use stitch markers (see etsy wishlist) but I really needle some resized for US 11. (most of the etsy sellers are willing to do that if you convo them.)
What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual? right now I'm popping muscle relaxers, vicodin, and prescription strength naprosyn. I wish I had a hot tub. If I could get anyone to do it I would love to have some of my mom's "Thunder Butter" rubbed on my hurty muscles but the boyfriend hates the stuff. *weep* (it's made out of beeswax, menthol, super hot cayenne pepper, wintergreen, and a few other things. I loved the way that my SuperWitch Coldie wrapped my packages all individually with paper that was obviously MADE FOR ME (purple! iridescent! sparkly!) and in awesome little mesh bags. That was totally awesome for the reveal!!! But I don't mind receiving things unwrapped. So... emphasis on the first, but the latter is ok too. It's not like I'm going to complain...
Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT. Bar soap (unless you made it!) Dangly earrings. My Lip Stuff lip balm. Anything Gold colored. Also no orange. I'm not real fond of yellow either. Or brown. Don't really need any more hand lotion or body lotion. I love the smell of horses, saddle leather and oil, puppy breath, coffee beans, freshly zested orange rind, my boyfriend (I love to burrow into his side of the bed because it smells like him), woodsmoke on a crisp evening, baking goods, apple cider vinegar (and other kinds of vinegar), dill and anything pickled with dill, fresh bread (I drive by a bread factory on my way home every morning), christmas trees, baked apples with cinnamon and cloves, pomanders I make by putting cloves in oranges, beeswax, honey, aveda tea, the "garage smell" our garage has (it reminds me of my grandfather's garage), hay bales, mixed grain that we feed to horses and livestock... I could probably think of more. I'm very scent oriented.

For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies? I have tried all of the Vosges bars (bacon, chiles, curry coconut, etc.) and my favorite is the Naga (curry coconut). I actually don't eat a lot of chocolate "Bars" because that is just too much at one time. I prefer truffles and I think I have already answered what kind I like in many of the other questions. But yes, I like stuff in my chocolate. Almonds and pecans if there are nuts. (and there are always nuts around here... *cough*) I eat maybe one truffle every three days, but sometimes I forget about them and go a few weeks without having any and then I feel bad because the truffles are starting to bloom and I must eat them before they go bad, and then I'll have a couple.
Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/etc. that still hold a really special place in your heart? Narnia books, Felix Salten books, Walter Farley & Marguerite Henry books (Black Stallion and Misty of Chincoteague), anything with Wesley Dennis illustrations, Disney movies, many many more... Old Yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Yearling, Trumpet of the Swan, A Cricket in Times Square, Island of the Blue Dolphins.... As for games, I loved Clue (board game). And Nethack (pc). And Pitfall (atari 2600). The Wizard and the Princess was the first "text adventure + graphics" game I played (on the Atari 400.) We started playing D&D in 1978 or 79. I loved (and still love) other text adventures such as "Adventure" and the infocom games (Zork, etc.) Most of the games I played were solitary or with my horses since I didn't get along with my brother.
There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? Every once in a while I get a craving for bottle caps. Or Spree. or Riesen. I would have to say that my favorite candies are probably salted caramels, though. I don't really "hate" any candy but I don't generally eat "hard" candies. Oh, I know, I really really dislike "whoppers". ugh. And anything sour.

Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? My internet connection is pretty fast. I'd like the rest of Red Dwarf on dvd (I have Season 1, 2, 3, and 4.) And I'd like the "american" Red Dwarf pilot, and the newly released stuff too. I would love to have the Twin Peaks pilot (I have Seasons 1 & 2 on dvd.) I used to work for HMV (His Master's Voice) so I have a ton of records and cds... what I don't have but want, I can generally find and download in a few minutes. So I'm good music wise.
What's something you're really looking forward to in the semi-near future? It was my birthday, but now that is over. (Was Saturday the 12th!) *sigh* I was fairly sad that most of my family did not say anything to me (my mom wrote me e-mail from Yellowstone park, ha) and only three friends said anything. I got more Happy Birthdays in the Switch Witch thread than anywhere else. Yes, feeling sorry for myself now.
What fictional character do you most identify with and why? Eeyore. I'm Aspie. I speak in a monotone. I have major depression. I'm usually somewhat glum (although I try not to show it in person.)
Could you use a 'travel' imp case? How many should it hold? I have some travel imp cases in my favorites list on etsy.
As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one huge final package to seal the sweetness? I really like lots of little packages (or a few little packages, or whatever) with one large reveal at the end. The last round was totally awesome up until the end, when my Witch revealed in e-mail and I had no final package -- not that I needed anything else because she spent waaay too much money, but it felt really anticlimatic. I would have rather she held off on at least one of the packages and sent at the end with a reveal.
What is your idea of the perfect evening at home? I like it to be somewhat cool weather so I can have candles, fire, tea, blankies, and snuggling with dogs and boyfriend.

Are there articles you are seeking to enhance your a) Halloween costume, Renfest attire, c) Cosplay, d) Steampunk accouterment? meh. I don't know what I'm going to be for Halloween. I could use a cool renfest overdress, corset, and chemise but those are spendy.
Who are your favorite artists/illustrators/art periods? Dunno. I like certain work by Van Gogh (Starry Night, Starry Night over the Rhone, Cafe Terrace at Night, etc.) I like certain work by Kim Reasor (the coca cola sign in the snow on the bottom of archive 2.) I have a few pieces of art by Wendi Dunlap (the ones on this page that say "Collection of S. Walker"). I love Jill Thompson's artwork with the young Endless (Sandman / Neil Gaiman.) And many others but have to save post now and go home from work.
What's your stance on cranberries? I take cranberry PILLS so I don't have to deal with the nastiness of cranberry JUICE. I don't drink juice with added sugar or corn syrup. Pure cranberry juice is the NASTY. But I like cranberries that are dried (especially covered in chocolate), and I love them cooked with savory dishes. I make something called "Cranberry Chicken" which is fabulous, and of COURSE "Fenberry Pye" (fenberries being cranberries) that has chicken and medieval spices. om nom nom! Cranberry Bliss Bars from Starbucks (yes, I have the recipe!), I even like jellied cranberry in the can.
Do you mind receiving used (in good condition, of course) CDs or DVDs? Nope, I don't mind. Bring 'em on!
Do you have a crush on anyone famous? Do you have a crush on any literary characters? Would you like fanfiction or fan art based on this/these people? Does my boyfriend count? He's not really "famous" but he is kind of a local celebrity to a very small niche.... (Monster Truck driver.) Sure, I'd like funny fan art based on my boyfriend. bwahaha. Even fan fiction. He'd get a kick out of some kind of bdsm fiction in which he is the sub/bottom. Crush on literary characters? hmm. I guess I don't get crushes on literary characters. Am I weird?
You're at home, or out, and you want a snack. Something that will get you through to the next meal, or through to the end of school or what ever. What do you grab? Chips and salsa usually. But it could be cheese and crackers. Or peanut butter and crakers. Or a protein bar. Or olives. Or dried fruit. Or landjaeger/wieners from Bavarian Meats. Or all of the above.
Do you have a favorite bpal bottle art? Hmmm I love The Lady on the Grey. I'm a horse fanatic. I really like Black Butterfly Moon too. And many many others.
Are there any decants from the Halloweenies, Literary Vampires, Gris Grimly, or Hellboy that you would be interested in receiving? Nope, I run decant circles so I have waaaay too many decants. Unless something is specifically on my wishlist as a decant (to fill a bottle or to test), I'm probably good.
For the crafty people out there: would you prefer something crafted or crafting supplies? Both!! I love to get things crafted by other people!! But I can always use yarn, scissors, stitch markers, measuring tape, or whatnot.
Can you use pill boxes, a hard ID case, coin purse, etc? I have a hard ID case slash imp box on my Etsy favorites. I don't really need any pill boxes or a coin purse, but if they're ultra cool and ME, I'm sure I can find a use for them doing duty as something else.
Any songs you are desperately into at the moment? I've been listening to the new Depeche Mode album a lot (Sounds of the Universe.) And Garbage (the first album.)
What's autumn like in your neck of the woods? What do you love and/or hate about it? It's lovely and cool and rainy. The leaves have a good color change mixed in with the evergreens. I don't like that it usually rains on Halloween night. Or when the piles of leaves get too sodden to kick or leap about in.
What's your favorite product(s) at Trader Joe's? probably the chocolate covered candy cane joes. Not the regular candy cane joes -- the chocolate COVERED ones. om nom nom.
If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? I usually only watch movies or True Blood. Sometimes Cash Cab.
Any Amy Brown art fans? I like her stuff that has horses on it! And stripey stockings! But I don't really consider myself a huge fan and I don't collect her art.

Is there a store that you love which does not have a location near you (but that has a physical presence somewhere, not just online? Why do you love it so much? There is a clothing store in Vancouver BC where the owner is also the designer. She makes a lot of club and renaissance-type clothing and dresses. She has her sewing machines there at the store and will alter things ON THE SPOT for you. I LOVE THAT STORE.
Lolcats....yeah or nay? yay! When I talk with my friend Brandioch we generally end up im'ing back and forth in lolcat. or texting. or even talking that way.
If your witch were to either write something for you or put together a collection of ghost stories, would you rather have it in writing, recorded as an oral telling, or both? I'm not especially into ghost stories, so however it was done would be fine.
If you had the funds to comission an original painting for yourself, what would it be of? What would it be like- colors, size, style? I like blues, purples, silvers, blacks -- I would probably get something of my dogs. Or a friesian. or a starry sky and mountains / forest / lake / castle with dogs in foreground or something. <shrug>
Does anyone have any symbols they consider to be personally significant or talismanic? Well, I have symbols I am attracted to. The wedjat (or Eye of Horus), the ankh, epona symbols (especially the horse triskele celtic knot), raven triskele... I have a white weasel rampant that I use on my soap labels (Iceweasel!), ummm I think I have more but I can't seem to think right now.
Are there any Gods, Goddess, or other mythological figures of whom you're particularly fond? Epona of course. Eris and Loki, I have a fondness for tricksters (and ferrets.)
Super villain or vigilante? Which would you like to be? Which would you like to receive? Vigilante. V, for example. If I'm getting a real live one though, I'd prefer he not have burns all over his body so maybe not V.
What mythical or fantastic race of creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins, elves, dwarves, faeries, etc.) do you most identify with, and why? Unicorns (I have a huge collection), gargoyles and grotesques. Unicorns have always just seemed sorrowful and solitary to me. Same with gargoyles and groteques.
How do you feel about Dia de los Muertos? Are you interested in sugar skulls? Catrina (or other) skeleton figurines? Meh, really. I could go either way, but I don't celebrate this or really know much about it and I wouldn't buy anything for myself.

What is your favorite creepy folk story or legend? Wow, I just have zero brain power and can't think of any creepy folk stories that I would consider a "favorite".
Who is musically inclined? What instruments (voice counts) do you play? Would you enjoy sheet music? I used to sing and play violin and flute. No longer. No sheet music for me. I started guitar a while back but then my son wanted to learn it, so I gave him my guitar. Would someday like to learn guitar and piano but don't see that happening. Closest I get right now is Guitar Hero on the Wii.
Favorite musicals? I don't see a lot of musicals. Most recently in the theatre I saw the musical dance version of Edward Scissorhands. I would LIKE to see Wicked. Dixiehellcat is a sweetie and sent me Spamalot. Moviewise I really enjoy things like the new Moulin Rouge (I LOVE Ewan McGregor in this movie), Sweeney Todd, Repo the Genetic Opera, Nightmare before Christmas, etc.

Are you into 80s movies (like i am ) if so, which are your favorites and who are your favorite characters? Sure! I loved John Hughes films. I have Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, 16 Candles, Better off Dead, and a few others. I would like Pretty in Pink and whatever else I don't have. I'd love the Monty Python films on dvd or blu ray.
Do you like Villainess soaps? What are your favorite scents? I like the Whipped and the Smack. The Smooches I am not sure about, I think I like the Arcana scrubs better. I don't want any bar soap of any kind. Favorite scents? I have some birth rite burn and it is ok. I have or have had whipped in jai mahal, decadence, autumn gala (gone), smashing (gone), and a few others. I think I have the ones I'm interested in trying on my SW Help page so I won't go into it again here.
Do you mind artificial colors in your food? I try to avoid things like food color, msg, corn syrup, etc. but sometimes it can't be avoided so while I WILL consume it on occasion, I'd rather not have it dumped into my food.
Who wants hair pretties?(headbands, barrettes, pony-o's, scrunchies, bobby pins, hair clips, etc) I am thinking of chopping all of my hair off again. But if I don't do that, then I do use things like the scunci headbands with teeth to keep my hair out of my face.
I am on an origami crane kick recently, so I wonder if anyone will be interested in origami crane earrings, origami crane in a glass vial (~1.2cm wide) phone charm/pendant or just a container filled with cranes of different sizes. My desk is already covered in cranes as that is one of the origami that I can make with my eyes shut. (I used to make origami for about 2 hours every day, going through my books and picking out new ones and then practicing all the base folds and stuff. But that was about 10 years ago. I can only remember the crane. My origami paper and books are in storage, I have no room for that sort of thing right now.)
How do you feel about clothing/accessories made from animals? Anti-fur, leather, shells, etc.? Does even faux wig you out? I wear leather. I'll wear fur if it's cold enough. (Seattle is not cold enough.) I don't really like fur as a fashion statement, though. I don't really like shells either.
How do you deal with stress? What's your favorite way to unwind? I usually deal with stress by drinking tea, reading, ignoring everything I possibly can, and sleeping a lot. I have been sleeping almost 24x7 recently because I am very stressed out about bills.
You're given the opportunity to apprentice at any trade (or craft) of your choosing for the period of one year. Your mentor may be any currently living person. Which field of study would you choose, and who would be your mentor? If money were no object and the "Trade" or "craft" was something fun to do and not a career that I would be locked into, it would probably be aromatherapy and perfume/soap/candle crafting (of which I already do some) and the other would be horse training/riding/breeding, specifically friesians, lusitanos, or andalusians and dressage. I don't have any particular mentors in mind. I'd also like to do yoga and some martial arts. If I could, I'd have Michelle Yeoh or Jackie Chan. Or maybe Chuck Norris.
Do you wear lip gloss/lip balm? If so, what flavors/scents? Yes, I always have lip balm on me. But I HATE HATE HATE lip balm that is applied with a finger or that is too slick, such as that web company that sells nothing but lip balm. what are they called? "my lip stuff", yes, that's it. DON'T send me any of their lip balm unless you don't mind if I give it away immediately. My favorite is on my kaboodle page along with the flavors that I like. The Better Botanicals "ayurvedic lip balm" in cardamom or rose-mint. I also like honey flavored... vanilla... no chocolate, please. I have been wanting to try the Haunt lip lust (and many other Haunt products.) I have some of the Bunny Butt lip balm in honey and it is fabulous.
What is one thing you constantly keep with you that you constantly loose? Lately, my temper. Or my mind. Over the years it has been my sunglasses but since I've had to start paying $150-200 for each pair suddenly I don't break or lose them as much.
What are your favorite fruits? Honey Crisp apples, nectarines, plums, honey tangerines, strawberries, melon (honey dew, water melon, cantaloupe), mangos..
If Beth made a perfume called "switch witch" what notes would be in it? I think that it would be different for each season and there would have to be a whole section called Switch Witch with different categories. There would be Ninja Witch and Nacho Witch for starters... different ones for different types of Witches and Witchees. Halloweenie/Fall round would of course be the scents of the season, depending on what you celebrate. If you're not a Halloween Witch/ee, your scent might be more of the falling leaves, tang of ice in the air, wood smoke, crisp autumn apples, and the like. If you are a Halloweenie, maybe mix in some chocolate, candy, or caramel?
What is your favorite cookie type? The ones that are cookies. bwahaha. If I'm BUYING cookies, probably the pepperidge farm double chocolate milanos. If I'm MAKING cookies, I would say snicker doodles, peanut butter, sugar (with lemon) and buttercream frosting, oatmeal raisin, and the best -- chocolate chip. I really love spritz cookies too. almond or rum flavored. or mint.
Do you drink alcohol? Wine, beer or liquor? What is your favorite wine/beer/mixed drink? yes. I prefer girly drink drunk. usually I get a lemon drop because those are easy. favorite shot is buttery nipple... or china white.. or purple hooter... or chocolate cake... my favorite wines are either tawny port (at LEAST 20 years) or ice wine. I can sometimes stomach "beer" if it's guiness, terminator stout, or ruby ale. But usually I would rather have water or ice tea than drink beer. And I love mead -- but it has to be damn fine mead. Chaucer's is an acceptable brand.
Do you like to find out there's a package on the way or to receive a tracking number to stalk, or do you prefer surprise packages? I like to stalk them so they don't sit in the mailbox and rot. I've had chocolates melt into little puddles because I didn't know they were coming... and the upstairs occupant (Rog's dad) is mostly disabled and has a hard time getting out to the mailbox. I work nights, so I don't usually get up until 7 or 8pm, so that is when I get the mail.
If I were your witch, and I wanted to make you a spell or mojo bag, would you be into that? And, if you were, would you want it for something like love, prosperity or luck? Or would you want it for a certain element? Or would you want it for something more personal- and what might that be? I have no idea how to use spell or mojo bags, so probably not.

Do you collect new/used stamps? Will you like to get stamps on your mails? I love getting interesting stamps on my mail. I just purchased two sheets of the Simpsons stamps, even though I didn't really need any more stamps. Just because they are fun! I love fun stamps! I do cut or soak off stamps and put them in my "stamp collecting" drawer. Which hasn't been gone through for years. and years. and years.
For you tea drinkers, are you partial to tea bags or loose tea? Loose tea is usually much higher quality, so that is what I purchase. But tea bags are ok too. I could really use some Russian Caravan. And if you have a tea store with Chocolate Rose or Chocolate Raspberry... feel free to send some my way!!

What kinds of crafts does everyone either enjoy making or enjoy getting? Do you have a certain type of handmade item that you love to collect? Socks, boxes, jewelry, dolls etc? I love making soap, lip balm, sugar or salt scrubs, bath bombs or fizzy bath salts, knitted items (preferably worsted weight), etc. Sadly I don't have a workshop right now for the homemade bathy goods and I am knitting very slowly. *sigh*

Clearly, vegans are not into soaps with honey or milk, etc. But, if you're NOT a vegan how would you feel about soaps made with emu oil? Squicked out/concerned about animal cruelty, or willing to try them? (The woman I buy them from uses the whole emu. She sells the meat, sells the feathers, and uses the oil to make soap.) I also make my own soap so I have some that is getting up on two years old that I need to use. And I have a ton of soap from doing "decant" circles (Villainess, Arcana, etc.), as well as a metric load from Lush. I need no more soap. Please. I hate using really old soap, and having a two year back log means that it will be really old by the time I get to it. Unless you are sending me liquid hand soap, in which case, please send boxes and boxes because the boyflame goes through that sh*t like there is no tomorrow. (I use the bar soap.) But other than that, no, I am not squicked out by Emu oil.
Are there any of the BPTP bath oils you adore (particularly ones that you cannot get anymore). What about the room sprays? I really wanted to try the Valentine's Day oils, especially Incendia, but my bank account was too borked at that time. But really just a small 1oz sample is the best. I have pretty much all of the other bath oils except Frenum and Invidia. I adore the Snow White and Lupanar room sprays. I would love to try the prototype room sprays, but just goblin squirts up to 1oz are good, I certainly don't need a whole 4oz bottle. I have sniffed all of the GC room sprays and have squirts of the ones I like.
How would you feel about an ultra-girlie shawl or wrap in summer-weight (lace)? I love shawls and wraps. I started making an Ishbel with Malabrigo Sock (want to do both the scarflette and wrap size) but I am too busy making things for other people so stuff for myself never gets done.

How do you feel about hand-knit socks? I have never owned a pair of socks that were hand knit for me. And if it didn't take so long, I would totally knit myself a pair. So if someone knitted me some -- omg. What a goddess.

How many potential witchees have an iPod, or download MP3s? I have the 80gb ipod video that was new just before the iTouch came out. (it's crammed full.) and I have an iphone. So both of course have videos and music on them. I used to work for HMV (His Master's Voice), so I have a TON of cd's and vinyl... I have at least 500 gigs of music on just this computer and then I have an external hard drive. And I'm not done ripping everything yet. Short answer: I can probably provide other people with lots of music. I don't need any myself.
Ok, for all you shower people, would you like BPAL scented soap? Or how about BPAL scented massage bars or solid scrub bars? As I've already said, I make soap. I don't need any more soap unless it is liquid hand soap. And then I would want to hoard it and not let the boy use it if it were BPAL scented (THE PRECIOUS!!) Something that would be interesting is BPAL scented liquid laundry soap... I have recipes for that, maybe I'll try to make some.... I have four or five massage bars from Lush that just end up going bad since it's like pulling teeth to get the boy to massage my back. But something that I *would* like would be scented glitter hair or body bars.
Do you collect dolls or miniatures? What kind? Do you like to get new clothes or items for them? I used to collect Breyer horses. They had saddles and bridles. Does that count? (they are all packed up out in the shed with most of my belongings.)

If you were to make a seasonal mix CD for this summer, what would you name it? I am sooo unimaginative / creative. I guess it would depend on who I made it for (I don't make cd's for myself...) If it were for my boyfriend, it would be something like "Big Rog's Backyard Amphitheatre Outdoor Summer Concert Extravangazapalooza" or something dorky. All of his cd's start with "Big Rog's", natch, and our little Costco gazebo was killed by the odd Seattle snow... so he decided to BUILD a new gazebo. It is seriously large enough to use as a concert stage. It looks like we should have concert lighting up in the roof trusses. He is hoping to have it finished by the 4th of July (we always have a huge party here) and he wants to get a laser light show dealie for it. *facepalm* Halp.

Do you play any online games, like World of Warcraft? If so, what server do you play on, what's your character's name, etc.? I still play Ultima Online after 10+ years. I play on Pacific. My main character is somewhat well known and is.. (prepare to be shocked...) Twilight Eyes. I run the guild "House Iceweasel" (wzl) and we are the Alliance leader of a group. Allies are "Legends of Pacific" (LOP), "Old School Thieves" (Os.), and "The Grizly Hand of Death" (GHOD). I'm currently a beta tester for the new expansion, "The Stygian Abyss". I used to make my living selling online gold/items for this game until eBay decided that only THEIR game (Second Life) could have virtual items sold on their auction system, so then I had to go find a real job. What? Me? Bitter? Obviously I don't play as much now as I did when it was my job so I'm down to three accounts from ~ten. Four if you count my son's account.
Is there a program you might have missed or show you love which is gone from the airwaves which might be found (or burned) for you by a Witch? Would love to have all of Red Dwarf. (I think I have seasons 1-4 on DVD.) Also would like True Blood season 1. And maybe The Prisoner.

I wouldn't say no to any single notes so I could see what the lab's version smells like. I am curious about things like opopponax, linden blossom, mallow, cream or sweet milk, fig, copal, different kinds of sugars (brown sugar, sugar cane, etc.), musks (black, blue, red, honey, grey, purple, chinese, egyptian, kasmiri, amber, africian, etc.), amber (ambergris, black, brown, egyptian, golden, grey, nepalese, peruvian, red, rose, smoky, tunisian, white, sudanese, etc.), sandalwoods (arabian, asian, black, yellow, green, egyptian, golden, indian, oriental, red, white, etc.), patchoulis (black, blue, africian, egyptian, golden, haitian, indian, indonesian black or red, africian, red, white, etc.)
And what would you witchees think of a net flick or the likes gift subscriptions? A month of Netflicks vs a DvD? I have a hard time finding anything to put in my queue with those kind of subscriptions. If there is a new release that I must have, I rent it from the $1 machine.
Would it bother you if you are not the first person to receive the same gift? Imagine a Witch who always sends her favourite book, for example. Not at all.
Pets: What do you have, and do they need/want anything? Right now I have two dogs. Jake Blues and Miss Lela. They are pretty spoiled... so "need"? Probably not. Want? They always want squeaky toys but those have to be either kevlar or a really tough rubber. (I'm at work so I don't have the brand in front of me that I buy.) They also like the small size of the Planet Dog "Orbee" balls. Miss Lela has major allergies so she only gets grainless food/treats.
Based on Prior Carnivale act prototypes...which one are you truly excited about? Sadly nothing leaps to mind.

I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about me whine that Twilight stole my name and blah blah blah. As much as I loathe and hate that SM named the first book "Twilight", I did read the series and see the movie. But I'm not a huge fan girl. It does tickle me to have "my" name on items once in a while, though. Short answer: meh.
Are you in need of decanting supplies, wand caps, or other scent-related paraphernalia? I usually buy my vials by the flat (2000) but the last place I purchased them from was horrible (Madina?) and half of the vials had warped tops and leaked. So yes, I could use more vials. I can always use more wand caps and pipettes too. And I wouldn't mind having some purple rollerballs.
Does your feline like catnip? I don't have a feline.
Salt soap bars (soap made with a large quantity of salt, like salt-scrub-in-a-bar)? This is different enough from soap that I wouldn't mind receiving some.
How would you feel about homemade jelly/jam from home-grown berries? As long as there is no corn syrup, sure. I like most kinds of jam (prefer jam over jelly) and also adore apple or pumpkin butter.
Homemade dill pickles? Made from cukes, beans, snap peas, baby zucchini? I prefer cucumber dill pickles, but trying beans and snap peas would be interesting as well. We usually do cukes with dill, garlic, hot peppers, and grape leaves. The grape leaves are supposed to make the cukes crunchier or something. I didn't get to do any last year and my sister in law doesn't do them until October, so there would be squeeing and om nom noming.
would my future witchee like to receive steampunk style jewelry? I prefer silver only type jewelry. I think I have a few steampunk pieces on my etsy wishlist (rose bracelet, skull locket, hippocampus pendant) etc. but it is difficult to find silver only steampunk jewelry. weep.
Tea. How do you feel about it? I work for a coffee/tea company, so I drink a lot of tea. I prefer black teas although I have some fabulous tangerine green and coconut green. There are a few herbal teas that I'm in love with, such as the Aveda tea and a similar tea from the Tea Cup called "Sweet Dreams". Love Pumpkin Spice black tea. Lately I've been on a Russian Caravan kick, so would love to try those from your local tea place. (RC is usually a smoky black tea.) I don't especially like Chamomile or a lot of herbal infusions (Passion from Tazo and the others I listed are exceptions.) Don't especially like Rooibos. Not particularly fond of green unless it is flavored. I love Jasmine tea, though. And lately I've been having a lot of "Chocolate" flavored tea that is scrumptious. Would love to try some Chocolate chai. Strong black tea that I can add milk and honey to is my staple, really. And I drink a lot of really strong black iced tea. I can go for either unsweetened or sweet (if made with real sugar.)
what is your favorite anime, or if you don't like that what is your favorite animated series? Ummm probably Ranma 1/2. I'm not really into anime. I have some old stuff. Vampire Hunter D, Totoro, Nausicaa, Demon Hunter Yohko, Princess Miyu, Spirited Away, etc. Favorite animated series... probably Earthworm Jim and The Tick.
What are your favorite animals? Or, what animals resonate strongly with you? Well, there are the obligatory gothy animals that I would love anyway: Bats, Ravens, etc. are LOVE. I have always had a strong bond with horses (especially Arabians, Friesians, and Andalusians. And being monochromatic, I prefer blue/steel grey and black horsies), ferrets (silvers make me squee), rats (blue hooded rats make me squee), and of course my bully breed dogs (blue dogs, again, make me squee). (But if anyone were to get me any kind of bully breed art, I prefer full ears. I do NOT like cropped ears on Bullies or anything that glorifies fighting.) And I've always wanted to play with dolphins or whales too. Am I weird that it isn't just the animal, but it's the COLOR that really attracts me as well as the shape? I mean, I have loved all of my ferrets, rescue rats, horses, rescue dogs, etc. regardless of color, and all the creatures I love make my head turn when I see one -- but certain colors give me whiplash. Personality has a lot to do with it too of course. If we going to get into fantasy animals, I like winged bully dogs, winged rats (FLIEDERMAUS!), thestrals, unicorns, hippocampus, etc. You will see all of these represented in some way on my etsy favorites.
Posters: I also have zero room for posters of any kind. All of my framed (and unframed) artwork is boxed up and out in a shed. They haven't seen the light of day for probably 10 years now. *weep* And I have about 50 of those HUGE posters that take up a whole wall. And since I used to work for HMV (music store), I have a ton of band related posters and swag.
Chips: I don't really eat potato chips. I am sensitive to MSG and a lot of "flavored" chips have it. (as well as most soup, boxed dinners, etc. I shop a lot at Whole Foods and some local co-ops, as well as cook from scratch often.)
Are there any kinds of books you collect? Arthurian! Otherwise I'm mostly Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Sci-Fi. I have a lot of books on roses and herb gardens, building knot gardens and topiaries, rock walls, ponds, etc. as well. And cookbooks. And knitting books. Feel free to peruse my LibraryThing catalog (although it only contains a mere fraction of what I have since most of my stuff is packed in boxes out in the shed(s).)
Are you obsessed with honey? If so, is there a particular kind you like best? Spun honey, flavored honeys, certain types of honey.... etc. zomg, I love honey. I buy local honey in the 5 gallon buckets and I STILL RUN OUT. Srsly. I would love to try all sorts of your local honey. I love light, dark, medium.... I don't think I have tried sage or avocado. *puppy dog eyes* I am not so much into creamed honey, although I will purchase it if it is the only medium available in a flavor I want.
Do you like villians that are funny because they are meant to be, or are you like me and love the villian that just can't seem to get his evil schemes to work? I like Villians because they get the hottest clothes and hairstyles. Usually.
Woods? I love trees. I like woody incense (sandalwood!) I'm not sure that I have a favorite tree. I usually try to grow Ginkgo trees but they perish. I have a large Empress of China (or is it Chinese Empress) that I adore because it has hanging purple flower clusters. Flowering dogwoods are nice. Aspens are lovely. I especially like trees with black/dark purple leaves. Oh, wait, used in wood art?? I prefer black, white, and purple. I have some pirate-y wooden mugs that incorporate those colors of woods but I'm guessing they are stained... I picked up some 'wood art' in Italy that is amazing -- a large framed horse totally made out of different colors of inlaid wood (my mom is holding onto that for me.) And of course jewelry boxes. I don't really like "Brown" or "tan" or "beige".
Any part of art history/ style of art that you can't get enough of? (eg: Baroque, ancient Egyptian, Victorian, steam punk, modern?) I love Egyptian and Roman or Greek type things. I have some little table top fountains that have Egyptian motifs and I love plaster/resin sconces/wall sculptures that are Roman/Grecian. I still have about 10 framed Patrick Nagel prints from the early '80s. ha. I would sell them all if I could get anything for them -- the only one I would keep is "Montana" (the one with the horse.) That was the only one I wanted in the first place and everyone just figured I liked Nagel and KEPT BUYING ME PRINTS. I would like a print of a piece of art featuring a girl blowing bubbles on a roof next to two gargoyles, and one of the gargoyles is leaping off after the bubbles. I can't remember the artist name off the top of my head. (But again, I have no place to put it.)
Is there anything you've been wanting to learn that your witch might be able to help you with? ooh. chainmail type jewelry and wire wrapping stones/gems (or making spirals) to make pendants, rings, necklaces, etc.
Obsessions: BPAL (duh), yarn, my dogs, gargoyles, neodymium glass, reading, tea, my boyfriend. I like sleep a lot too. And chocolate. And caramels. And chocolate covered caramels, especially sea salted.
Are there any historical figures you are particularly interested in - say, that you'd enjoy reading about, or movies, etc.? I've always been interested in The Matter of Britain/Arthurian genre and have collected a sizable library of books referencing such, although quite a lot of it is fiction/fantasy.
Did I miss a question about beer? Beer - um.. not my favorite. I vastly prefer girly drink drunk. If I *have* to drink beer, it is usually either a stout (Guiness is ok or McMenamins Terminator Stout) or I found one ale that I like (McMenamins Ruby). I don't exactly go out sampling so I could probably find more but I don't really drink very often. I also like birch beer, if that counts.
anyone reading an amazing book right now? I just finished Raymond Feist's "Rides a Dread Legion" and it was better than expected. (I try to get as many advance reading copies as I can through LibraryThing and this was one of them.) Now I just need to write a review... Now I have moved on to the third book in the Kushiel series. (Chosen? You'd think I could remember but they all kind of blend together.) I still have a few books that I'm in the middle of reading on my iphone kindle or wattpad apps. The third book in the Temeraire series (Black Powder War) and some others.
Are you interested in Tarot or Tarot art? I have a bunch of Tarot art favorited on Etsy. So I guess that is a yes. But it is more this artist that I like rather than it is Tarot related, if that makes sense. I used to be interested in Tarot, but I'm more interested in letting other people do the readings and me watching. I have a deck somewhere. I have been reading about card games played with Tarot decks and I'm interested in learning those! But they mentioned in a fairy tale book I was reading, so could be totally fictional. I forgot about it until just now.
What would you think of soap samples/shampoo bar samples? (I believe the latter can be used as soap if you are not shampoo bar inclined). Or other sample sized bath/beauty products, for that matter? I would love to try some non-sls shampoo or shower gel samples! Enable away! The economy thanks you! (but I don't need bar soap. REALLY.)
What about burnables as in candles, tarts and/or incense? I would like tarts!! I have some Alternative Breeding on my non-bpal wishlist, and some Villainess. And I'm up for whatever other brands you like since I'm blissfully unaware of most of them. Incense I LOVE but my boyfriend is allergic to smokey-ness so I never burn it. I should dig it out of storage and start burning it outside in the morning when he is gone. Candles, I LOVE. I have a ton of things to make candles but no workshop at the moment so ixnay on the andlemakingcay. And although I have a huge steamer trunk full of votives and tealights, and another huge trunk full of votives, tealights, dinner candles, and pillar candles, and I have a STACK (or two) of 3-wick candles (both tall and short) against the wall, I mean really -- can you have enough candles? And I have some jar and bowl candles too. Did I mention that I used to not only have my own business making candles (on hold at the moment), but I was also a Chandler at Sweet Spirit Candles? And before that I sold candles for PartyLight.
What are your favorite materials? Or material things? Some people like jewelry, some like woods, some plants... I'm not really big into jewelry, I will admit. I love plants but we are in a basement. I am not sure what my favorite materials or material things are, but I will tell you that it is NOT a telephone. I hate telephones right now.
do you like old, old, OLD books? I'm talking the kind of books you see on the shelves at your grandparents house. Spines cracked, a few loose pages here and there.. I personally love the history of them. I love really old books! I have quite a few old leather bound books. I look for old Felix Salten books whenever I'm in an antique store. Or other interesting children's books or poetry. Or whatnot. Old old old books with awesome line art illustrations are especially fun because... public domain! (assuming not republished.) That means we can make rubber stamps or something with the art sometimes. (Yes, one my close friends owns a rubber stamp company, "Rubber Trouble".) And look! A gargoyle stamp on sale! She sells them unmounted so prices are very reasonable. Just in case people like rubber stamps. Sorry, diverged there a bit. I tend to do that.
Recipes? I really don't have room to cook. Plus the boyflame is extremely picky. We do a lot of flat iron steak, salmon, chicken tacos, things that can be grilled... I cook roasts in a crockpot every once in a while, so really easy crockpot recipes are welcome. Maybe some more interesting recipes for fish or salmon (to grill) that don't take a lot of prep space/time. I have just enough prep space for a small cutting board and that is it. But if you have a favorite recipe to share, please do. I will make an extra effort to make it sometime, even if it has stuff in it that the boy doesn't like. (one of my favorite things is Cranberry Chicken but he won't eat it, so I make it at the parent's place when I visit there.)
If you could make your perfect scent (or at least most desired at the moment!) what would be in it? I had a blend of lavender, patchouli, and sandalwood lotion called "Sweet Earth" that I LOVED. I used to get it at a local farmers market. I've never been able to duplicate the scent.
My most perfect scent ever was the Vanilla single note from The Body Shop. They discontinued it and went with a vanilla blend perfume instead. I still have a teeny bit left from 1989 and I treasure it like gold. Of course it reminds me of the time that I had it as well (see Toronto 1988-1990) so that probably has something to do with it.

The ones I keep open in my tabs are: hotmail, gmail, ravelry, facebook, ebay, flickr, livejournal, windermere (house hunting), amazon, unicreatures, dragon cave, bpal, bptp, scent addict, soap box, villainess, blooddrop, little knits, lime and violet, etc. I generally visit hulu if I'm bored at work and need some background sound while I knit. Sometimes I visit my pandora radio station but not often. I also use moviefone and dvdexpress.net a lot (for local movie watchings.) Once in a while I'll look at craigslist if I need something specific and want to check local availability/prices, or if I'm getting rid of something. See also freecycle. And I visit kaboodle and etsy once in a while if I'm bored or need to update wishlists. Sometimes I'll catch up on cute overload or I can haz cheezburger. What do you like to snack on? Dried fruit (I still have a bunch of dried apples left from the fall harvest.) Nuts (almonds, pecans, cashews.) Cheese (I love gouda, different kinds of cheddars, sage derby, cotswald, parano... I like flavored goat or feta style cheeses to spread on crusty bread or rosemary crackers.) Olives (black, kalamata, and green garlic stuffed). Grapes, cherries, fuji or honey crisp apples, honey tangerines. I love salami and cured meats but not sulfites. (sigh) Cold cuts. flavored crostini (rosemary, garlic, black pepper and asiago.) Garlic or black bean hummus and little pitas. Carrots, celery with peanut butter, pea pods, grape tomatoes, other fresh veggies... (I prefer to snack instead of eating large meals.) A lot of times I'll come home and not have energy to do anything except some peach/mango salsa (With cream cheese added) and tortilla chips. Once in a while I have a piece of chocolate or a salted caramel. Once in a while I get the Terra veggie chips. Or I'll pick up some Veggie Booty.
Is there something that would offend you if you received it in your mail/gift/email)? (as in profanity, a bad words in an email/card/music ... or a card or something with a scantily dressed man/woman pictured on it, crude/immature humor tshirts, etc ...): I'd like to add that I have decided I am offended by some things after all. Dog fighting, animal cruelty, animal research, hate (anything racist, or aimed towards bi/gay/lesbian, fat jokes, etc.) Not especially interested in scantily dressed women (men are ok!) I don't mind profanity (I use it all the time.)
What is the color scheme you use most when you decorate? I prefer greys/blacks for permanent fixtures and jewel tones (Burgundy, purple, blue, green) for highlights. So my desk is grey, couch is black, etc. Comforters are black or black & grey. Towels, candles, sheets, throw pillows, blankets, etc. in jewel tones.
Is there any infomercial product you're dying to try even though you know it probably sucks? Not especially, since I don't really watch tv or infomercials. But I did run across a huge display of infomercial things at Frys, and they have a WHOLE STORE fill of them at the "Supermall" in Auburn, Washington.
Do you wear makeup or nail polish? Need brushes, containers, storage, mani/pedi supplies? What colors and brands do you like? I wear makeup and I polish my toes but not fingernails. I have to "draw on" my eyebrows because my tattoos are getting too light. I have eyeliner tattooed on as well but it isn't thick enough for me, which kind of irritates me since I paid to get it done so that I wouldn't HAVE to put on eyeliner every day. I use prescriptives base and powder, mac or prescriptives mascara, and I have various eye shadows/pigments/powders/minerals/whatever in mac (from ralenth), urban decay, fresh minerals, and some other stuff that people gave me. I don't usually buy makeup myself and during the workweek I only wear foundation, eyeliner, eyebrows, and powder. I rarely do eyeshadow and am horrible at it. I was watching Priscilla, Queen of the desert the other night and totally wishing I had their eyeshadow skillz, yo. I don't need containers/brushes/storage/or mani-pedi stuff. I have a ton that is still in original packaging. I like black/grey/silver/purples.
Do you like shiney hanging porch decorations like windchimes or those things that spin and swirl in the wind? yes!! I love windchimes. And shiny things. And I like porch lights too (like christmas lights, except I keep them up all year.) I have two sets of windchimes, purple lights, hanging plant baskets, and some japanese lanterns hanging on my porch (which is our "front door" since we live in a daylight basement although it's in the back yard. It's under a huge deck so I have lots of room to hang things.)
Hair adornments? I like headbands to hold my hair back out of my face but that will let my bangs flop over or go behind my bangs. This is the first time in 20 years that I've had "long" hair (usually it's shaved on the sides/back) so I'm not really savvy on what to do with clips and such.

So no thank you! (I know it is impossible to avoid using things imported from China but I do try to avoid it as much as I can, sorry.) With all this talk of chocolate, do you prefer milk or dark? Depends on what it is blended with. I like dark chocolate if it is blended or covering other things. I don't actually eat chocolate straight up nowadays anymore come to think of it... if I eat a bar it is usually a blend (chai, jasmine, masala, fruit, nuts, etc.)
What is your favorite classic fairy tale or children's story? I think I prefer the retold fairy tales. the "classics" were all stolen and changed from the originals and not for the better. Favorite children's story -- hmm. Maybe "God Bless the Gargoyles" (that isn't a classic, is it?) I have things like Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, Island of the Blue Dolphins, A Cricket in Times Square, The Trumpet of the Swan, The Wind in the Willows, Little House on the Prairie series, Narnia series, The Hobbit and LOTR, Dr. Suess books, etc. that I made my son read about 10-15 years ago.
Do you have an electric stove, and would you like a bowl and tarts to use the residual heat (and for extra safety)? I do have an electric stove but I'm afraid the bowl would break because I would be stupid and put it on the burner while it was too hot. I would like a tart burner though.
What of the summer update (Egyptian, Lawn Ornaments, etc.) appeals most to you? I already have the Summer Garden Series (lawn gnome, pinwheel, flamingo.) I would like to try the Iteru bottles but haven't wanted to purchase yet because one is dirt and the other sounds aquatic. Haven't gotten the Feast for the Greatly Revered Ones yet, would like to try that one as well. But so far, Flamingo is my fav.
Are you freaking out over any of the discontinued scents, dear fellow Witches? Not really, but I would like to sniff Madrid and Succubus. And I kind of want a bottle of Severin. But I am resisting!! Sad, I love Mimosa (our friends have a mimosa tree and it is fabulous!) and that seems to be the note in common for all of the discontinuations except for Severin.

If your witch were to send you cookies, what kind of cookies would you like? I love just about everything -- but no nuts, and no divinity. I *heart* chocolate chip, sugar, snickerdoodle, thumbprint, peanut butter, spritz, lebkuchen, krumkake, etc.
Since we're talking about warm winter wearables, who likes hats? Mittens? Arm warmers? Probably wouldn't wear mittens. Love long wrist warmers! Would love to try arm warmers! I kind of want a kittyville hat. But I already bought yarn to make my own although I suppose I could make one for my housemate instead. I'm making a devil horn hat for my boyfriend... someday.
Question: who would like a pair of handknit socks? Size? Color preference? Cabled, ribbed (for your pleasure), stranded colorwork, etc.? I wear a size US 10 women's shoe. I would LOVE stripey socks (black and purple would be my fav, with black/pink or black/white as back ups. I've totally been eyeing the self striping sock yarn lately.) Otherwise just black is good. Cables and other things are up to the knitter!
How does everyone feel about steampunk? There are some steampunk books on my Amazon withlist and Steampunk jewelry on my Etsy wishlist... I like the art involved. But I tend more towards vampgoth, cybergoth, mopeygoth, etc.
How do people feel about unusual ornaments? As in, for holidays other than Christmas? I don't really have any place to put ornaments but that doesn't stop me from filling my wishlist with NMBC ornaments on Etsy!! I'm hoping to have a tree this year but am not holding my breath.
Anyone else a total nerd like me and would like DnD/Roleplay stuff (Dice, minis, books, corny tees, etc.)? I started playing D&D in 4th grade (early '70's) and then playing Cyperpunk, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, etc. I don't really play anymore unless my son (18.5 years) has a campaign he needs tested (but since he lives across the state, this isn't very often.) I love corny tee's from Think Geek, though. Most of my roleplaying is now done online nowadays.

I like pretty anything that is not acrylic. Silk, alpaca, llama... I was sent some Wollmeise and it fabulous! And someone also sent me some malabrigo -- omg. so so soft. I need more of this to make a nice cowl and matching wristwarmers!!! Handspun is fab too!! I can do without glitter. Funky art yarn might be ok -- I like the ribbon yarn sometimes if it is really soft. I am all about the texture - I like it smooth, silky, or soft.
Which witches would like hair accessories: clips, scrunchies, hairsticks, headscarves, etc? Anything NMBC, I like. Really wouldn't know how to use hairsticks. Don't need or use scrunchies. I have some clips, but again, I am hopeless. I usually just put my hair back with a headband if it's getting in my way. I have this headband with teeth that I slide in and it holds the hair back pretty well, but they tend to snap after a while. (I must have a big head!)

What is the biggest problem or sad thing in your life? Of course, I mean the saddest or worst thing you can confess here. My biggest gripe... oh god. That I have aspergers and, worse, major depression. Because of it, I lost my really fabulous job as a System Admin and then 911 happened and most of the tech jobs disappeared. I worked from home for seven years. I had to sell my house. Then my boyfriend's mom died and he decided he wants to stay with his dad until his dad passes. So my boyfriend sold his house too. So until his dad passes away, we are living in a MIL apartment in the basement of his dad's house. We have ZERO room to cook or to have most of our belongings. We have one room that the comptuers/tv/couch/kitchen are in, a tiny bathroom, and a small bedroom that can only fit the bed, a nightstand, and a small dresser. The walls have dark wood paneling and the floors are stick down squares of carpet on cement (hardly any padding). I can't even steam clean the carpet without ruining it. The bathroom has holes in the walls and some rot. All of his dad's "artwork" is still covering the walls downstairs even though we've lived there for ... four years? So no room to put any of our things. Very depressing, but at least I have a place to live. (We have plans to put in carpet and redo the bathroom but money has been too tight.) Then we made the mistake of inviting one of my friends to stay with us until she got a job and her own place. Which should have been only a month or two. That was almost a year ago and we are still supporting her financially and... let's just say this place is too small for two people, let alone three. I am extremely stressed out by having no privacy, have missed a ton of work, am always sick, etc. So -- yeah, the living and money situation, not so good.
Do you like honey? Will you like to try creamy honey with black sesame or with cinnamon powder? I love honey! I love trying flavors in small amounts. I don't usually use creamy honey (I just don't eat that many sandwiches...) unless it is in my tea. Right now I have some creamy lavender honey that is fab in tea.

Do you like baskets, jars and other interesting containers? Filled or Empty? I like jars and interesting containers (filled, preferably) but unless they are filled with useful things, I don't really have any room at all. Most of my belongings are packed up in storage since moving into our current place.
Houseplants and/or things to put them in: thoughts? I am thinking that although they rock, houseplants would be too costly to ship. Same with things to put them in. I would like some more spider plants but as I live in a basement, I am afraid they would just die again. I have lucky bamboo and a geranium at work. At home (inside) I have a corn plant, christmas cactus, wandering jew, pothos, and a few unidentified plants. Most of them are from my grandmother's estate. My spider plants that moved with me from my other house all perished. I really don't have much room for any more plants.

Right now I am wearing my Carnival Phoenix locket, a pair of amethyst earrings (my boyfriend had them made especially for me as a Valentine's Day gift), and a pair of diamond stud earrings. I pretty much wear these every day. If I'm getting dressed for a club I'll usually add some rings or knuckle armor pieces and maybe a bracelet. When I am wearing shorts (ie, summer), I usually wear an anklet too.

How do you like your chocolate? White, milk, bittersweet, as dark as possible? Plain, with flavoring, with chunks of stuff in? Fairly traditional, or weird and experimental? I prefer milk, bittersweet, and dark dark dark. Although I did just have some pretty decent white chocolate (a skeleton, served in pieces, in his coffin) from Moonstruck Chocolates. I love chocolate with almonds and raisins. I love chocolate with orange flavor. I love chocolate with sweet curry & coconut (ie, Vosges Naga bar or the Dolfin Hot Masala bar.) The Dolfin bar with jasmine tea is to die for. Dagoba Chai bar is one of my favorites. The bacon Vosges is not horrible but not really my cup of tea. What I *don't* especially like are things like Hershey bars or Palmer's "chocolate". I am a snob, what can I say?? Do you prefer arm warmers to the wrist, to the base of the fingers, or half fingered? I prefer longish wrist warmers -- like to mid arm. And half fingered. I haven't ever had arm warmers but it seems like it would be cumbersome to have things going over my elbow. I might feel claustrophobic. Been active online since 1984 or so. Twilight Eyes is from a book by D. Koontz .. someone with Twilight Eyes had foreknowledge of sorts and, of course, purple eyes. I had purple contacts for quite a while, starting in 1986 or so. Since then, most people know me as Twilight and my business name incorporates Twilight into it. Pots/cozys/presses/strainers? I love all kinds of tea but especially jasmine, chai, and black breakfast-y teas. I like both loose and bagged - I use a gold foil filter but would really like a bodium tea pot (it has a little strainer insert for loose leaf that you can remove after brewing) or one of the tea "presses" that spits the leaves out at the bottom so they don't steep after the recommended time. (I don't think it is really a press - you aren't supposed to "press" tea like you do coffee.) I have an iron tea pot somewhere but I think it is packed up. I really wish I could find it. I welcome all sorts of your favorite teas.
What is your favorite hot chocolate or drinking chocolate? My favorite is the Parisian from Vosges, or the Double Chocolate from Ghiradelli. Scharffenberger has some lovely cocoa as well that I used to use exclusively to make mochas at home but that and the Vosges are too expensive to buy all the time. I saw some awesome looking single origin drinking chocolates at Whole Foods yesterday -- I might have to go back and check them out when I'm awake. I welcome your favorite hot cocoa or anything you think I might enjoy.

if you were to receive a hand-knitted item, what color(s) would you prefer AND are there any types of yarn that you just cannot handle (e.g. wool, llama, etc.) I love black, purples, blues... look at my etsy list and the yarns that I drool over for color iteas. My favorite scarf is a black mohair knitted doublestrand with a purple/blue silky ribbon. I wear it everywhere. I have some purple pastaza wrist warmers but the pastaza seems too itchy for my wrists -- I think it is because they are breaking out from perfume sensitivity and that makes them wool sensitive too. I have dreams of knitting a cowl from malabrigo worsted merino, a kittyville hat (superwash wool is fine), and silk wristwarmers. I have my eye on the snake belly gauntlets from knitty and other arm warmers but I am too busy to make anything for myself! I am making things for everyone else! So yes, I would love to receive knitted things. But if it going on my wrists, no scratchy wool! And please, no acrylic material at all. It makes me cringe.

I wish I had the original Rudolph, Frosty, Nestor, Charlie Brown, and other animated shows I used to watch every year when growing up. I think I have way more Halloween traditional movies than Christmas!! I adore "Gremlins", "Elf", "Scrooged", "Die Hard". I've never seen the "Muppet's Christmas Carol". Do you collect anything...BESIDES BPALs. I am a PACK RAT. I collect gargoyles and grotesques, unicorns, NMBC stuff (especially the cookie jars), candles (or you would THINK I collect them -- I have about 20 3-wick candles stacked by the wall and 1 huge wooden chest full of votives, pillars, and dinner candles, and another steamer trunk full of votives, tealights, and jar candles. I love candles, I used to be a PartyLite representative, I've worked for Sweet Spirit Candles as a chandler and I still make my own candles at home! -- don't ask about all of the boxes of PartyLite candle holders and accessories...srsly.) I collect Starbucks City Mugs, Starbucks Bears, books(!!!!!), yarn (someday I'll get around to using my stash, really!), neodymium glass (especially depression era -- Tiffin Twilight, Heisey Alexandrite, Fostoria Wisteria, etc. -- this is glass that is a lavender color under incandescent light but turns blue under florescent. I even have a few PartyLite candle holders that are neodymium), I love ravens, fleidermaus', pit bulls, ferrets... I would like to be able to collect more artwork but I have no place to hang anything on the walls right now. All of my framed artwork is living in storage, along with my gargoyles, unicorns, curio cabinets, books, mugs, bears, neodymium, etc. Oh, and I have a ton of rubber stamps and stamping accessories but I prefer more obscure and not horribly girly rubber stamps -- gargoyles, pit bulls, horses, unicorns (my favorite is my punk unicorn), bats, ravens, etc. Although I do have some cutesy stuff too.

I love images of women, in beautiful poses, strong women, powerful women (No- Not Hilary ROFL) I like dark, vampire types too, not *too* dark- okay for general consumption type art too. I have a hand made vase that has a goddess depiction but I purchased it mostly because it was purple and I loved the swirly handles. I don't really collect art of women -- although I really do like some of the fantasy art like Amy Brown and I have some really old Patrick Nagel prints from the '80s that are in storage that I would sell in a heartbeat if I could get anything for them. I would love to start collecting more BDSM (femdom) art but I think I would prefer men in submissive poses. I wouldn't mind if there was a woman in there as well, but I prefer mostly faceless art (if they are photographs) if that makes sense.

I usually have something like stonehenge, solar eclipse, sweeny todd, nmbc, stardust movie backgrounds (from the movie website!), a friesian, my dogs, or something else near and dear. Right now work is NMBC and home is a blaze of different blue and black colors. I always use the "Lilac" color scheme on any computer (windoze computers) that I have a profile on.

Question for the class: How do you feel about winter-themed but not really holiday type decorations? Things like snowflakes and fake icicles and the like? Love! I love snowflakes! Especially snow flake cookie cutters. Dang, that is another thing that I kind of collect -- interesting and unusual cookie cutters! I have a monster truck (my boyfriend is a monster truck driver so when he is lucky, I make them cookies!), unicorns, lizards, dogs, bones... and I've always wanted snowflake ones but it is one of those things I always put on christmas wishlists but don't ever get. hee. I'd like to know wrist size, circumference just below the elbow, and most importantly; what kind of fiber can you tolerate/not tolerate. Please be more specific than non-itchy wool. Alpaca, merino sheep's wool, silk, acrylic, stainless steel, you name it. Wrists, 7". Circumference below elbow, 11.5". I can't tolerate very many things on my arms/wrists -- super soft merino MAYBE (I haven't tried any on my wrists), baby or supersoft alpaca, bamboo, silk... lately my arms and wrists have been super irritated and itchy (probably from perfume!) I can not stand acrylics -- they make a funny noise and just touching them makes me squick out. I love noro kureyon but sadly not on my wrists.

Do you like caramels like coconut lime? Salted? I don't think I've ever met a caramel I didn't like. Lately I've been very fond of anise caramels but am dieing to try ones such as gingerbread, egg nog, earl grey, lavender, rose, etc.
Who's a Disney fan? Cartoons, theme parks, or just general stuff? I have to admit that I do love going to theme parks, including disneyland. I have a special place in my heart for Bambi (I always loved deer and the Felix Salten books, although ripped to shreds by Disney, were among my favs), Eeyore (aspie! total aspie!), and of course NMBC. I think my fav "newer" (I still think of them as newer) animated disney films are The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King, and Aladdin. And Mulan is ok. And of course I love POTC!! Some of my friends are total Disney fanatics and know EVERYTHING about the park... I just shake my head. I have been to Club 33 because I have a friend who has a membership, that is probably the crowning point of my Disneyland trips.
Who is your favorite villain of all-time? Mmm villians!!! I always loved Maleficent.. because black, purple, and dragon FtW!!!! Snape.. because Alan Rickman is hot as Snape.
Do you use candles much? If so, do you like unusual, pretty, funny or weird candles? Scented or unscented? Any particular type? I loooove candles. I like highly scented candles but not ones that will make me sneeze, so not especially synthetic smelling... if that makes any sense. I use mostly votives and pillars. I prefer my votives to liquify completely while burning so that it consumes all of the wax and I don't have to scrape! Pilllars I prefer to be "huggable" so again all of the wax is consumed. I don't like the ones that are too hard and crack when hugged or that make a big hole in the center. (I tend to burn them for 1 hour per inch of diameter so that they liquify all the way to the edges.) I am a part time chandler but without a workshop at the moment. I love intention candles too. I have been really wanting to try candles from Big Dipper Wax Works -- a local Seattle beeswax candle company. Someone that works there, Fleur, adopted one of my foster bullies. He gets to go play in the chandlery while Fleur works! I always see their candles at Whole Foods but I'm usually too broke to purchase. Rapture or Rejuvination aromatherapy or just plain honey beeswax is awesome. The holiday "spice" looks awesome. Votives, pillars, glass, tins, what-eva.
Do you like incense? Any particular type or scent? I have sooo much incense but I can't burn it in the house. Boyfriend allergic. So I never use it anymore. *weeps*

What is one item that you've wanted forever, could have afforded, but have never gotten and why (haven't you gotten it!)? "New Rock" boots... because there isn't any place local to try them on and their store in Las Vegas was closed the one time I went there. I could order them from Fashion Nation in Denver and have them shipped to me, try them on, ship back if they don't fit, etc. but that is so much work!! My boyfriend went that route so I just eye his enviously.

If you have a garden/planter box, what do you grow? Right now I am growing what was given to me free by my friend who teaches horticulture at a high school: mint, thyme, basil, tomatoes, peppers, catnip, ivy, butterfly bush, oregano, alyssum, geraniums, lavender, lilacs, etc. When I had my own house I had over 60 varities of roses, 11 of lavender, and tons of herbs and highly scented flowers. I like useful, edible, or scented plants. Ornamental, not so much. I always harvested and dried herbs, rose petals, etc. to use in my soap or for making scented pillows or other items.
What incense scents do you prefer? I used to burn all kinds of resin and stick incense but my boyfriend is allergic to just about everything so I no longer burn any. *weep*
Do you decorate for Halloween? What sort of decorations? Dress up for Halloween? I do try to decorate for Halloween -- I have mostly candle holders (black cat tealight holder, some tealight haunted houses and trees, spider web shades for tealight lamps, etc.) We always carve pumpkins. I like to get corn stalks, bales of straw, and do scarecrows in the yard if we are motivated. We have a coffin (real) that we put out in the front yard with an arm or something hanging out. Yes, we usually dress up and of course have to go out to the goth and fetish halloween nights.

Depression glass (and neodymium glass in general) doesn't really fit my personality but I collect it!! Are you a soap addict? Anything you like to avoid in soaps (goat's milk, lye, dyes, etc...) or any particular scents you like or brands you want to try? Yes... but I have so much soap because I make my own. I prefer non-detergent soaps (ie, cold process hand made). Goat milk is good. Shea butter and cocoa butter are good. Olive oil based are good (but preferably milled two or three times or they are really really soft.)

Band-aids: do you like the fun and funky ones? Yes! As noted above, I shop at Archie McPhee so I get pirates, devil ducks, black cat, unicorns, etc. Yay! I almost wish I got cut more so I could wear them.
What's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you? Being almost run over by car full of people, then threatened with a switch blade by a pregnant girl, yelled and screamed at by said group of people, and then backhanded by big guy -- in broad daylight at Green Lake park in Seattle. They wanted my parking place but I wasn't leaving yet -- just letting my car cool off with the doors open. Let's just say that they all went to jail. And then they kept saying it was my fault because I was obviously racist and they shouldn't have come to a "white" area. *boggle* OH. Yeah. And I used to work for a bank. When I was at a branch installing some software for the manager, they were robbed. That was scary. Especially since the gun went off and someone fell to the floor - everyone thought they were shot. The guy was trying to zip the bag of money closed with the gun in his hand when the gun went off. After that he ran out the back door with money flying everywhere behind him. And then we were interviewed for hours and hours by the FBI. Good times.
How do people feel about receiving baked goods/kits to make said goods? Or other cooking items? I love baked goods but I don't eat splenda or other artificial sweeteners. I prefer organic when possible. And hopefully everyone uses sanitary cooking practices!!
Would you enjoy oil or vinegar flavored with herbs grown at home? Strange and exotic spices with recipes to try? Cookies made with carnation petals? It would depends on how the carnations were grown -- no pesticides!! But yeah, I love exotic spices and cool recipes. Oil and vinegar flavored with herbs is fun.
What are your pet's names, and what are they named for? Jake Blues should be obvious -- he just needs a brother named Elwood. Lela was already named when I adopted her and she knew her name, so no changing it. Howie was dropped off by the local ACO at the boyfriend's house and he howled for three days straight (and then lost his voice), so was dubbed How(l)ie.
How do you scent yourself? Do you layer soaps, moisturizers, etc. or do you go straight to slathering your bod with BPAL? I use aveda shampoo usually, which is all scented with essential oils in a blend ("pure-fume") - the blend depends on what shampoo you're using, or you can personalize one. Then I use scented shower gels (usually Lush) but I haven't noticed that they actually stay on my skin -- I can never smell them after I get out of the shower. I usually use a Lush powder (silky underwear or candy floss) OR a BPAL bath oil after the shower, depending on how I feel. Then depending on what I put on (oil or powder), I pick some scent to wear on my wrists and inside elbows. Sometimes neck. And I usually wear honey or vanilla scented hand lotion.. sometimes coconut.
Do you/how do you scent your world? Candles, incense, diffusers, potpourri? None of the above? I use candles, essential or perfume oil in my ultrasonic fountain, essential or perfume oil mixed with water on a burner (is this a diffuser?), sachets in drawers with clothes, bpal room and linen sprays, etc. I used to use incense but my boyfriend is allergic to smokey things.
BPAL is such a scent-ual experience. What are your other tactile, aural, or olfactory pleasures (I was going to say, "And let's keep it clean", but what's the use fun in that?!?) I like to curl up with soft fuzzy blankets/slippers, so I like my house and room to be somewhat on the cool side. Love to have my shoulders and neck massaged but only if using the right kind of oil, otherwise my skin chafes easily. Hmmm aural... most sounds bug me except white noise, unless I am listening to them purposely (like music I like or watching a movie.) If someone else is listening to music or watching a movie and I can't get away from it, I get very very angry and tense. Part of my asperger's syndrome I think. And I am very very scent oriented, so I almost always have to be scented or have a candle burning or my fountain on. But nasty scents make me throw up very easily. I love fresh cold air when you can smell snow or wood smoke, warm nights when the honey suckle or jasmine is drifting through the air...
If you drink coffee (and make it yourself) do you use a French Press, regular filter basket coffee maker, Espresso Machine, Percolator? I use a french press or a "Toddy" cold brew system. Unless I'm at work, in which case I use the espresso machine. Someday if I have a larger kitchen I'll get another espresso machine for home -- my previous boyfriend took mine when we parted ways.
What movie soundtracks (or scores) do you love? NMBC!!!! Tank Girl, Some Kind of Wonderful, V for Vendetta, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, almost anything by Danny Elfman, Wedding Singer, Hackers... that is all I can think of without looking at my mp3 files. Pixiepetal on the forums (she is a very quiet lurker) lives with me and we've known each other since high school (so for over 20 years now, dang we're old.) She should have an inkling of what I like.
If you could bring back any TV show from cancellation what would it be? Don't watch TV. I would kill it all. Well, ok, maybe I would bring back Red Dwarf or Twin Peaks. I was unhappy with the Twin Peaks ending.

Jake and Lela both like Jolly Ball brand Romp & Roll balls, large size. (Ball with a rope through the middle.) Lela likes Planet Dog orbee balls (tennis ball sized.) For cookies, they eat Plato Smart Dog Treats in salmon or duck. For training I do Simon and Huey tiny training treats. I used to do garlic and honey but I don't think they make those anymore. They love their Bully Sticks (natural dried beef tendon, not really a "brand" associated with them.) My dogs can't have a lot of wheat, corn, grains, etc.

What think you about receiving tea accessories and/or miscellany (like mugs, cups, saucers, strainers/filters, honey, natural sweeteners [like stevia])? I collect Starbucks City Mugs (20 oz) but otherwise have enough mugs, strainers, filters, etc. I can never have enough honey though -- I get it locally by the gallon. I think I have two gallons right now... but my boyfriend still buys me more when he has to drive across the state.
How do you feel about copies of music or dvd's that your witch might have that you might enjoy? Not just mixes, but whole copies? Archival copies are wonderful.
Say, witches, I have a question about birthdays. do you expect/rely on other people to plans birthday outings and activities? No, I'm the one who does all of the planning in my relationship it seems.
Tarts? Yes/no? I have a partylite aroma-melts burner. If that burns tarts too, sure.
I'm wondering if my witchee would like to try these types of things (like the caramel with sea salts or chocolates with chilis/bacon/salt etc.)? I have probably tried most of them! Fran's Sea Salt caramels are the best, imo. Boehm's does a good chili pepper/chocolate. Vosges for chili pepper hot cocoa and bacon/chocolate bars (in the shape of flying pigs even.)
How do y'all feel about honey and maple? And different flavored honey, not just the standard kind? Honey and... maple? Um. I like real honey and real maple. So I would guess it would be ok? I love all types of honey. Creamed honey goes wonderfully on sandwiches, although I prefer it not to be "flavored" (no espresso, strawberry, etc.) -- the different pollens are fine of course. I prefer darker honey, but not black. Black is good to cook with, but I have a huge container of it right now. My least favorites are probably clover or alfalfa, just because they are so common around here. Wormwood isn't bad.
What is your favorite thing to do on a cool fall day? Horseback riding or geocaching with the dogs and then curl up by the fire with a good book, some tea, and the snuggly dogs. (the latter is my favorite thing to do just about anytime. although sometimes it's the fan instead of a fire.)
Who likes pirates? My boyfriend's name is Roger. Back in the day (15 years ago?) he drove a monster truck called the Pirate Pete. Our boat is named "The Jolly Roger". Yes, we like pirates.

Do you play a musical instrument? Does Guitar Hero count?! I have played the flute and the violin. And was in chorus for many years. I've always wanted to play the piano but never had lessons. I taught myself guitar a few years back but then the person who gave me the guitar wanted it back.
What do you think of Irrelevant Disturbing and Surreal Crawdad Dream? Love it? Hate it? Kicking yourself for not getting a bottle? It's ok, I neither love nor hate it. I bought two bottles and traded one away for some inquisition stuff.
If candy is sent, would you prefer small amounts to a Halloween sized bag? It depends on the candy! A whole bag of vanilla tootsie rolls? sure! A whole bag of hard candy mixture? meh.
Do you like notes in your soaps or bath stuff that you don't like in your perfumes? If so which? Hm, not that I can think of.
Do you like floral soaps or bath stuff? If so, what florals work and what don't? I really like rose soap and buttercream (but it has to be a good genuine rose - synthetic stuff not so much.) Flying fox works for me well too (jasmine, ylang, honey?), various lush bath bombs that I'm sure have florals but I can't think of any off the top of my head. Right now I have some triple milled french lavender soap out.
What's in your Netflix or Blockbuster queue, do you want any new Netflix/Blockbuster friends, if so how do we find you on there? I don't do either Netflix or Blockbuster. I don't have a lot of time to watch movies or tv... when I do rent one, they're only $1 / night at work or the grocery store. When I DID do Netflix and Blockbuster trials, they just didn't have enough movies on theirs lists that I found interesting (that I didn't already own.)

What other perfume companies (besides bpal) have you been curious about? NOOOOOO no enabling!!! I get possets and cobalt blends frimps all the time in swaps and I pretty much pass them on immediately... I am AFRAID! AFRAID I TELL YOU. I did get an ebay lot with some CB, Possets, and Arcana (with a bunch of BPAL of course). I really like the Arcana one. And I'm kind of curious about "the girls love vanilla" (is that possets? I can't even remember because I run screaming -- I don't have any more veins!!)
Stance on Joss Whedon and his enterprises? I enjoyed Firefly. I watched it all in one (or two or three) sitting(s) from my friend's dvds. I think I missed a few episodes because of passing out. I may someday make a Jayne hat. I didn't watch any of his other shows.
Has anyone tried ice wine before? Do/did they enjoy it? I *love* Ice Wine and Tawny Port.

If you are into the original Nintendo system, what 3 games would you want that you don't have? I never had the original nintendo. I had the original atari 2600 (and the 400 and 800, which is when I started programming, before we got the 8088 pc.) Now I have a WII and an XBOX 360. And a Super Nintendo and SN64. I always want more Zelda games.

Who here likes Wizard of Oz things? Not I. Although I would like to have the movie on dvd. I used to love it when I was a kid -- I am told tales of how I wanted to change my name to Dorothy. *shudder* I also enjoyed Wicked and Son of a Witch. I never did read all of the original W of O books but would like to someday. You can see from my library thing that I am collecting all of the children's books that my parents didn't have the money to purchase for me.
Do you often drink take away coffee in paper mugs? Actually, no. I make free espresso drinks (or french press, or toddy) at work, and I use my personal ceramic mugs. Sometimes I'll make a press or toddy at home but usually at home I just drink tea. I have lots of 16 & 20oz "to-go" travel mugs and one of the starbuck's grande sized ice drink travellers (clear, double walls, lid, straw) for days off. I also have seasonal mugs, both ceramic and travel. I'm about to get out of all of the halloween mugs.

Underpants? Do you like them? What's your style? Size? Um, Yes? But I don't think I would feel comfortable having people other than my boyfriend give me underwear.
What is your favorite? What tea would you love to try but haven't because of price or difficulty to get? One of my favorite teas is the Aveda tea. It's so spendy that I don't get it very often (I'm out right now.) My staple is just orange pekoe with honey.

How does everyone feel about really green gifties? I was thinking of giving my witchee some of my handy-dandy "paper" towels (hand-sized, washable muslin squares--kinda like ultra-cheapo cloth napkins) in a kitchen-friendly decorative box, but I didn't want to seem preachy ("Stop using paper towels, you environment destroyer!"). Would y'all use something like that? I'm one of *those* people that shops at co-ops and whole foods. So yes, I would probably use those. I also knit my own dish clothes and use those instead of paper towels.
What craft (or crafts) have you been wanting to try but have no idea where to start? I have all of the items to get started on paper making ... screens, clamps, trays, towels, food processor, herbs, scents, colors, books... but I've never gotten off my butt and actually DONE it. I also have almost everything to get started with Stained Glass (patterns, glass, cutter ... just need the soldering iron and a workshop!!)
Would you appreciate some tunes in future packages? And if so, do you care if you get any CDs or mp3s you might have all ready? Or would you be able to find a way to post a list of things you're (a) looking for, or ( b ) all ready have? I have over 500 gigs of mp3 files. *gulp* I used to work in the music business and have thousands of cds that I ripped. Most of my newer stuff is mp3 only though. So, I don't know - tunes, not so good. I am overloaded in tunes. What I *need* is to be able to hook my ipod to my car stereo.
Polish goodies! Who wants them? Baked goods, candies, kielbasa, pirogies, magazines, you name it? I've never had polish candies. I love kielbasa! Never had pirogies -- are they like piroshky? I love the local piroshky (salmon, om nom nom) and borsht.
About incense: do you like sticks or lose incense? Have you got one of those devices to burn lose incense over a bit of charcoal? I have tons of stick, cone, spiral, and loose incense, as well as a sand bowl and self activated charcoal to burn loose incense and resins on... but I don't ever burn incense anymore because I have slight asthma and my boyfriend is allergic to just about everything under the sun. And now that summer is over, I won't be hanging around outside burning it either. What I use now as my favorite is an ultrasonic fountain/mist maker with essential oils in the water. The boy isn't allergic to most high quality EO's if they are not floral. (and the picture is NOT the one I have, but it IS the one I want!)
What's everyone's favorite fairytale and what are your favorite versions of it? Ooh Ooh. I love retold fairy tales. It would be REALLY hard to pick out my favorites. I shouldn't even have to mention Neil Gaiman because I think everyone on here knows about him by now. Stephen Brust's "The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars" is a sort of retelling of a Hungarian traditional fairy story. "Juniper, Gentian, and Rosemary" by Pamela Dean is a retelling of a traditional Scottish ballad. Tam-Lin by Pamela Dean is excellent too, and of course "Snow White and Rose Red" by Patricia Wrede. One of the most haunting, I think, is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty called "Briar Rose" by Jane Yolen. Gregory Maguire's "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" (Cinderella), "Mirror Mirror" (Snow White), "Wicked" (Wizard of Oz.. ok not a fairy tale but close). I love Robin McKinley's "Deerskin" (Donkeyskin), "Spindle's End" (Sleeping Beauty), "Rose Daughter" (Beauty and the Beast), "Beauty" (Beauty and the Beast)... and of course I have the erotic "Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" series by Anne Rice (writing as A. N. Roquelaure) as well as tons of others. Sadly most of my books are in storage so they don't show up on my LibraryThing. Let's just say that when my library was together, I had a few bookshelves dedicated to fairy tales and a few more to "The Matter of Britian" (Arthurian lore.) And then all of my Cyberpunk, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and a small smattering of graphic novels (mostly Neil) as well as a teeny bit of "horror".
So how many imps/decants is officially 'you have gone overboard and your Witchee is going to expire from scent overload'? What? Overboard? Overload? Is that possible?
Who needs a recipe box? not me. I store recipes on the computer *or* on 8x10 in my binder with clear coated pages to slip the paper into to protect it from splashes and spills. (I is messy.) Or I use books. Not that I cook much right now since we moved into a MIL basement apartment with no counters in the kitchen and therefore hardly any working space to cook. I usually end up balancing things on the sink rim and they inevitably fall on the floor or into the sink and I curse and stomp up and down and give up. But the dogs are happy.
ANYONE ELSE want a home-made cookbook? I wouldn't say no! It would be kind of fun to have everyone submit their favorite recipes and do a BPAL or Switch Witch cookbook.

Villians you sympathise with, or are interested in boinking? Mmm villians. I usually like female villains and am not really interested in boinking them or any other fictional characters (I guess I'm weird), but Alan Rickman is awesome in many roles, including Snape. I can sympathise with that character since I was always the outcast at school and spent all of my time with my horses instead of other people. Later figuring out that Aspergers exists helped some but it doesn't really make up for anything.
Your stance on the all important peanut butter issue: crunchy? creamy? allergic? chocolate? maple? go directly to nuttella, do not pass go? Creamy peanut butter, preferably roasted peanuts sweetened with honey. I go for the organic. I don't do corn syrup. I don't think I've had peanut butter with maple! I don't really like hazelnuts, so no nutella.
Who here likes to read historical fiction? If you do, what eras/people/countries intrigue you the most? I like Judith Tarr's historical fiction / fantasy. My fav is Arthurian though.
What sort of colors do you currently wear? Do you want to branch outside that? What would you like to try? I wear mostly black. I like wearing mostly black. Sometimes I wear white shirts. Sometimes I wear blue jeans. Sometimes I wear dark blue, dark purple, or pink. But mostly black.
