Amoraexcena Report post Posted September 11, 2024 Very pretty, reminiscent of De Vos Unicorn with the gentle mallow-vanilla combo. This one leans a little less floral, more sugary vanilla than DVU. I don't detect much resin or woods from this, maybe a touch in the far drydown. If the Unicorn wandered from its field of flowers, and into the little patch of vanilla orchids, lovingly cared for by elvish gardeners, this is what you'd get. lifetimely Report post Posted May 23, 2025 The bottle is a smooth combination of vanilla and sandalwood. On skin, I get something nutty and smoky (which I assume is the frankincense)? After about half an hour, this settles into a soft, slightly nutty vanilla.
Assimbya Report post Posted June 22 I'm rather confused about what this one is doing on my skin, since all the notes are typically reliable successes on me as bpal does them. This goes on as a very sweet gourmand vanilla, slightly artificial and to my taste somewhat cloying, as someone who prefers my vanilla distinctly not foody; this feels like vanilla ice cream. As dries down the vanilla does calm down on me, but the scent that emerges underneath feels vaguely stale and dusty, and still more artificial than I'm used to with bpal. I definitely can't detect any osmanthus, which is generally among my favorite notes. I think I may need to find another home for this one, with someone with more obliging skin chemistry and more of a fondness for gourmands than I do.
