BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

This does smell shiny! In the imp it smells shiny and clean. Sort of medicinal, but in a really pleasant way. I'm having a hard time identifying the notes, but the musk is definitely giving some warmth to the cool metal and tobacco flower. It feels light, clean, and methodical. Like what I imagine an elven workshop smelling like.

Very metallic, but also kinda floral in a sweet way. This is my fourth Phoenix Steamworks that I'm testing, but unfortunately, so far, it is my least favorite. Musk I like, but flowers, not as often. This blend burns my anterior nasal cavity just a tad too much. I will be passing along this lab fresh frimp.

Metallic notes with Indian musk, tobacco flower, and African balsam.

Oooooh, this is nice. I'm getting some of the same cool metal note I've picked up in some of the RPG scents. Very much like a polished silver tea set! The tobacco flower is lovely and sweet without being cloying. There is a delicately spiced drydown that feels very feminine and alluring. Moderately strong projection and 6 hours of good wear, followed by another 2 more faint ones. I'm not sure if this was ever (or will be) offered as a hair gloss, but I think it would smell amazing in that format, too. Very worthy of a spot in the rotation when you want to smell nice without having to think too hard about it.

I’ve been a BPALer since 2015, but this is my first day wearing this scent. I love it! When it first arrived last night, it smelled vaguely of a shampoo my friend’s mom used when I was a kid. That’s clearly the balsam. Wearing it today, though, I get big booming waves of creosote. I’m wondering if that is a component of the “metallic” notes. Not really getting the balsam any more at all. The musk is nice and subtle, and I thought I smelled patchouli before applying it this morning, but maybe it was my nose misinterpreting the creosote. Or the tobacco flower, which I’m honestly not getting much of either. It’s lucky I adore creosote. All Their Heads Fell Off and California Leaf Nosed Bat are both shining examples of a solid creosote offering. My skin sweetens everything, so I’m not getting masculine from this at all.

In conclusion, I love this and will wear it often. It pairs well with Crack of Thunder Hair Gloss.
