PumpkinGuts Report post Posted March 21, 2024 The cumin and basil were overly aggressive at first, but I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. There may be some troll DNA in my Scandinavian genetic makeup, because this troll musk is sexy as hell. I'm getting a mixture of musk, vetiver, pine pitch, and light spices that I just want to rub my face in. Woodsy, musky, feral. I agree with the previous reviewer that Troll is not a green scent. roseus Report post Posted May 14, 2024 This starts out harsh on me, thick scratchy greeness and smoke. But as it dries the pine becomes a pleasant base for the scent, with smoke and clove being the second most dominant notes, followed by basil, vetiver, and cumin. It still a dark, aggressive herbal sort of scent, but more pleasant than at first.
SmellsPrettyGood2Me Report post Posted February 2 Wet: too much basil and eau de rotting wildlife carcasses. On skin: Oh, hey, some pine to go with the smell of decaying forest fauna and funga! Almost anxiety inducing in it's pungency. On drydown: Something more floral emerges. The musk remains present and foreboding. I find myself wondering if this is what a woods dwelling, revenge oriented former mathematician would smell like as he plotted his dastardly deeds against society. Jarek Report post Posted Thursday at 09:01 PM Quote A lurching, hateful, bitter scent. This is a gruesome blend of ghastly greens and blacks: vetiver, pine pitch, troll musk, black basil, clove smoke, and scorched cumin. This was a frimp. I think I had it on a wishlist because of the cumin, possibly? So I was interested. In the imp vial I smell the pine pitch and vetiver, maybe smoke. On my skin, as usual, I smell so much more. Though I think I'm getting better at smelling different things in the perfume in the bottle. Black green-ness, smoke, scorched, a bit of spice and blackened herbs, vetiver smokiness, and pine pitch specifically. I don't quite smell the musk yet. I wasn't sure what I thought of this at first. It's so confronting. I like some confronting scents but it really took me a few tries to start to like this one. And now I think I love it. Some hours later I smell more of the musk and it's not a black musk but is there such a thing as a green musk? Or like, a dark green musk? Anyways the green parts kind of fade but the darker and scorched parts stick around, the musk for sure, the pine less so but I can still smell some of it. It's very evocative of a troll, in concept. Yes, I love this perfume. I would like to get a bottle one day.
