BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

Grand gestures, zero apologies, and one unifying appetite: to be adored. Glamorous leonine amber glimmers with impossible beauty, threaded with an unexpected flourish of sultry blooms.

His scent opens with a theatrical blaze of warm cognac, aged beeswax candles, and feral lupine musk. At the heart of his perfume beats Medieval French church wood, incense smoke still clinging to the stone, all aflame with the black leather, sweet brandy, and glam-glittered crystalline musk of a rock god.

In the bottle: Hard to detect any specific note. More that you activate another mood layer which each inhale. It's warm and sweet, it's musky and woody, it's smoky and cold, it shifts and it shimmers in the darkness.

On the skin: At first, I pick up on the cognac and brandy, and the leather and stone. Faded, stale incense smoke and wood begin to show. The lupine and crystalline musks work together, creating something both dark and luminiscent.

Overall: I mean, that's Lestat. Intoxicating and mysterious, still hard to pin down a specific note, it's just an AURA.

I detect none of the booze notes and no sweetness of any kind. It’s  cologne-y and kind of raw-smelling. The leather smells raw, the stone is raw, the wood is raw. The musk is the distinctly non-mellow kind.

I’ll be putting this one away for a time in the hope that the jumble of rawness pulls together and becomes something wearable for me.
