How about one for the road? Fizzy pop and a syrupy slick of motor oil splashed across disintegrating tan leather seats.

Okay, which one of you spilled soda all over the backseat?!

I mean, this one is honestly kinda trippy! It smells like an old car. The crackled ambery leather seats stained with sticky cherry cola, covered in old thumb smudges of motor oil that give the car an everlasting industrial chemical tang.

The cherry cola is most present right out of the bottle and first on the skin, but then it really shifts. The soda gets stale and murky. The acrid smell of motor oil creeps in over it. The leather is strong but well worn. The longer it sits, the more and more it smells like an old car. A car that's lived. A car that's seen it all.

ONE HOUR LATER

Sticky, leathery resinous cherry.

An overflow of cherry cola fizz spills in the backseat of this hearse, seeping into the cracks of tan leather seats form the '80s. Nothing like cherry cola to mask the smell of death. With a poof of exhaust fumes, the hearse is off to claim its next customer.

Waxy cherry candy stretched into ropes, dense chocolate-adjacent chew that's not quite chocolate, the slick pomade perfection of Kennickie's hair catching light in the rearview mirror ("A hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card, when you only care enough to send the very best!") Fake-fruit plasticky Twizzler sweetness, Tootsie Roll richness, everything polished with product and oily swagger, neon light shine and candy-slick confidence.

This is a cherry party on me throughout wear, and I'm here for it. The cherry is a deep, dark black cherry mixed with a candy-like cherry that smells like a cherry Tootsie Pop. I don't get any cola from this, although I do get a caramel-y, syrup-y aspect to the scent after a while, which I attributed to a sweet, syrup-y brown leather note (I should do a side by side with Outlaw, with its brown leather and sassafras), but mayhaps it was also a part of the soda. It reminds me more of a Black Cherry Boylan Soda than a Cherry Coke, but with way less fizziness than actual soda. Unless that syrup-y quality is due to the leather, the leather and motor oil are really subtle on me. And I say this having slathered it all over, including down the length of my forearm, on Saturday.

So on me, this is more Cherry Soda/Candy Hearse than Cherry Cola Hearse, emphasis on the cherry. This means there are no complaints from me! I'm curious to see if this remains cherry-centric or gets more industrial as it ages.
