doomsday_disco Report post Posted April 22, 2025 Warm hands running over the well-loved tonka-sweet leather bindings of a cherished book. A flutter of gently-yellowed paper and ink suffused with luminous yellow bergamot, honeyed tea, and lavender sugar.
Diesis Report post Posted Wednesday at 01:00 AM Just got this in the mail & have no patience! Just out of the box, no rest, in the bottle: It’s delicate. The bergamot is the strongest scent in the bottle. Wet: Still delicate! This might be one of the softest & most lovely blends I’ve gotten in 10 years. Beth has out done herself to match the book with this scent. It reminds me of one of my first lunacy blends (I can’t remember the name but I wanna say Old Moon 2012??). The bergamot still steals show once more but the inky page scent is there. Drydown: About 20 minutes in, the blend is now a melange of equals. The tea & lavender have blundered to an amazing sugared honey with hints of lavender & black tea. The bergamot & inky paper are there but gentle & closer to the skin. Like lifting a book to smell it while you sip tea from a bright yellow mug. So far, this is beautiful. I’ll let it rest a few days & see how it fairs but so far, it was well worth it. I wanted the book anyway (did a whole project on Art Nouveau in uni; Mucha was a huge part of it but so was Czeschka & Seder [among others] so the last few projects by CG have been a delight) & the perfume was a delightful addiction as I am a BPAL junkie (even if this year I’m on a buying hiatus except for the most unique of blends that might arrive; clearly, it doesn’t count on the hiatus if a kickstarter project has a BPAL addition… right?)
