khazakant Report post Posted March 15 I'm not sure why I bought this because BPAL's ozone accord doesn't tend to agree with me. I think I mostly wanted the tobacco absolute, which is up there with hay absolute in stuff so beautiful you could just bottle it and be done with it. It's a very astringent scent, strict and bracing, with the feeling of heavy rain if not the smell. Honestly to me it smells more like a minty ink stick than anything else (where is the mint coming from?!). I was hoping it would morph into something I liked a little better on drydown, but not really. If you want a minty herbal you could do worse, though.
Jarek Report post Posted April 25 (edited) The musks are almost sweet, not quite syrupy, not quite fruity, there is a bit of a tingle in my nose but I don't smell mint. The tobacco is there beneath, bitter, cutting through the sweet musks. I'm not quite getting the ozone note but I've only smelled it in Lightning before so I could just be lacking enough familiarity in order to pick it out. After a couple hours the intensity of the musks scales back and the tingle in my nose is gone, but it's still fairly sweet and musky. It's really nice. I think I can make out the sandalwood now too. I like this one a lot more during this second test, and I may like it even more with further testing, but I'm still not sure I'll get a bottle of it. Very pleasing though. Glad I got a decant.
