Blood and Judgment So Well Commeddled

I love all of these notes, so I thought this would be a no brainer. Almond for sure right off the get go, then, it takes a turn for the worst. Something medicinal rears it's ugly head, and we're left with a slight almond note and a tea tree like herbal/cleaner/medicinal perfume. After about an hour, it settles into a soft, warm amber vanilla with a touch of almond. THIS is more like it, BUT, it's pretty soft, and takes a good while to get there. I am not giving up on this baby, and I will tuck it away for a few months.

My Baby and a Baby Goat

I really like the rice flower note, but if there is too much sweetness in the blend, it kind of nauseates me Too bad that is the case here, it is much to sweet. This one sounded like a win, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm glad I didn't go straight to big bottle with this one. Castitas was the same, too much sweet in with the lovely rice flower.

    Jiggery Pokery

Sweet, sweet, SWEET orange and candylike to the extreme. This is quite nauseating to me and reminds me of that doll fragrance in the CD line, can't think of the name atm. Definitely NOT me, not even close.

    Pulcinella & Teresina

Strong woods and rose. The woods are rather aggressive here, and in the forefront while the rose is a strong red one, but not as strong as the woods. Basically I picture a strong male/female relationship. I like this, but it does go sour after a bit. Still searching for that perfect rose/resin/wood combo.

    Ask The Nearest Hippie

Patchouli and cannabis. Yup, this definitely smells like a hippie! It's a soft, sweet patchouli, but even after the cannabis wears off, it does not compare to Banshee Beat. At least on me. Fades quickly, no vanilla, the cannabis accord is too realistic, (and I don't like the smell of it!), and I'm worried it may come out when I sweat. Not for me...
  6. I'm finding this one a bit difficult to pinpoint exactly what this smells like. Basically, it is a soft, fruity floral with a touch of warm resins on me. It reminds me a bit of 'The Gladdener of Heats", and a less lavender "Moon of the Terrible" and almost like "Mysterious Warning", but with bergamot. I know, not very helpful:) Quite pretty, but I don't think I need any more.

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

Jasmine sambac must be different than regular jasmine, as I'm not getting sour cat pee. I also tend to like night-blooming jasmine too. Melisande is strong floral jasmine (no cat pee!), and turns into a sweet, honeyed jasmine with a touch of vanilla. i really like this, a sexy, tropical floral. If you've smelled Lush's Flying Fox, this is very similar. After a bit, some violet. I'm not sure I'd wear this much, as I like Faiza The Black Mamba just as much as this. I may hunt down a decant though...

    The Phantom Calliope

Absolutely horrible on me. Cherry scents are either amazing (Gothabilly) or disgusting (Black Phoenix and this one). Fake cherry, with spices and patchouli. None of which go together. A BIG miss.

    Pure Applesauce

I really can't do apple blends, they remind me of Pert Plus and shampoo in general. They are part of the sniffie sets I get though, and deserve a review. This one is a warmer apple, green, cooked slightly with spices. I wouldn't wear this, but like apple scented hair glosses, so go figure.

    Mare Forecunditatis

Lovely. Warm, bright and fall-like. I'm having a hard time explaining this, but it's basically slightly herbal, resinous, floral with a touch of patch. It reminds me of Trinket a bit, even with a metallic twinge. Even though I like this, it's not a 'love', and I'm getting picky in my bpal old age and only buy scents I absolutely love. It is nice though...

    Carnaval Diabolique

I remember trying this one back in the day. It may be a little more lemon heavy than previously, but it's still pretty much the smoky/incense/lemon blend that I recall. It's OK for me, but nothing to write home about. There are other citrus blends I like better.

    The Organ Grinder (2015)

I love almond and sarsaparilla, so I was looking forward to this one. I'm getting both right away, which is a good sign. After a bit, the smoke comes out. The almond and sarsparilla are holding steady, but this new note addition is ruining this blend for me. If it wasn't for this, it would be a bottle purchase. I just really can't stand tobacco smoke. Why couldn't this guy be a non-smoker ffs?

    Looming Spectre of Inutterable Horror

This is one of those aggressive, dark bpal blends. I'm getting black musk, tobacco, dark incense and dark leather. This would probably smell amazing on a smooth, dangerous guy, but it's just too masculine for me.

    Midnight on the Midway (2015)

At first, soapy to the extreme along with incense. Dry, less soapy, vanilla, incense and blue musk. The previous version is more 'pink', while this one is blue. This is comforting, like being wrapped in a fuzzy blue blanket, with wafts of blue vanilla. a bit childlike, but I still love it. My daughter said I smelled like dryer sheets, but I don't mind. A bottle will be mine for sure when I make my big CD order when the Snakes come out.

    The Candy Butcher (2015)

Overly sweet fake creamy chocolate. Kind of like powdered hot chocolate. There's a lovely lily note here, that kind of reminds me of Parker Lily, BUT....it does not go with the fake chocolate. I was so looking forward to this as I generally love cocoa and chocolate blends. Boomslang and BTBT are my faves, but this is a HUGE miss.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2015)

Starts out very sharp and medicinal. I'm getting the black currant and musk, along with the medicine. After a bit, it is just a faint whisp of what the glorious, voluptuous, well-rounded scent she used to be. Still, I am curious as to how this one may age. I may need more than a sniffie just to see. I find Misfortunteller v3 much closer to the original, so if you want to check her out, wander over to Etsy to see if she's still there. I love the original Mme, and still have a couple of bottles of her in my arsenal. Ahem. This one is quite similar, almost to a 't', but the older version is richer and longer lasting. Someone said back aways that this version is more wearable, and I tend to agree. The original is really 'in your face', but I still love it. This one is a bit more subdued, like a business suit with expensive matching lingerie underneath. It is 'there', but more socially acceptable. One thing I love about the original, is that there is a wonderful vanilla plum with a touch of incense that develops after several hours, newer version, not getting that, in fact it fizzles pretty quickly into nothing. Still, this is still a great blend, more incense than the previous version, less plum. I'm hoping that age may bring out the delicious vanilla that is in the previous incarnation, but I'm really surprised at how quickly she fades. hehe I see I did a review a ways back. Sniffles are hard to review, and I was able to slather this time. Aaaand after doing a side by side, the new Mme falls flat:( Maybe age will help with that though. Still keeping my bottle, cause it is similar, and I'll need more once my precious is gone.

    Papa Monster

Sweet and candy like fruity. Like wine gums, pink grapefruit wine gums. Fun, but not me.

    Pumpkin II (2014)

Spice...cinnamon, maybe ginger and definitely clove. No pumpkin to speak of. Very much like the many other pumpkin blends the Lab puts out. I wish I got patchouli, it would definitely make this more interesting.

    Crypt Princess

Sweet pomegranate, (a little too fruity and sweet), and a slight bit of patch or musk and a teeny bit if dirt. This is a more fruitier Crypt Queen, basically less of the above.

    Butter Rum Cookie

Starts out as described, a butter rum type cookie. After a bit, becomes more spicy. I would like to eat something like this but not to wear. Still, this is very comforting and foodies would be all over this.

    Fulvous Snow

This is a masculine snow blend. I'm getting patch, and something kind of woody and sweet. It kind of reminds me of Antikythera Mechanism, only with a bit of snow thrown in. I like this, but its too masculine for me to wear

    Laura Belle McDaniel

I thought I'd be all over this one, as I'm a lavender and bourbon vanilla fiend. Unforunately, all I'm getting is the smoky vetiver, my nemesis. Ill try her again another time, but for now, this damsel does not make the cut.

    Sweet Potato Musk

At first, this smells lime another pumpkin spice blend. Pleasant, but generic. After a bit, I'm getting musk along with the fall spices. This is now a lovely musk spice blend. It reminds me of blends like Storyville and Underpants, though this one has more spice. A pleasant winning surprise!

Single Note: Pile Of Fallen Leaves

Leaves, both brown and green leaves. This is a fresh, pleasant scent, but it fades too fast.

    Kate Fulton

Heady gardenia at first. Thisb is different. Up close its a nneded powdery sour floral, and whatbim smelling around me is heady gardenia. This smells like the gardenia my mom likes, tropical heady floral. Not my thing. It reminds me of the Dior perfume that's a heady floral that my mom wears. Cant think of the name. At any rate, its not for me.
