'K guys, if you are the parent of a picky toddler, please share your successful dinner recipes here. Fairly easy would be preferred, as I am cooking-impaired. Bonus points for things that freeze well, since the only times I can cook are weekends or my lunch hour.

Can someone explain to me why over 8 hours of sleep last night equals ridiculously tired today? I could have just stayed up all night partying! Well, no I couldn't have, but I'd probably feel the same way today if I had.

For anyone who was wondering, I dropped out of my writing contest last week as I was on a business trip and there was no way for me to meet the deadline in between all my classes and whatnot. Thanks to all if you who supported me, whether it was through reading, voting, or just not blocking me for my obnoxious updates about it.

From the hilarious timing files:Tuesday night, I started working on this idea I had for a historical fiction story about Nikola Tesla. Shortly thereafter, a few things about Tesla might have appeared in the news, or so I hear. I'm choosing to believe there is a mischief-causing ghost. Ha. Also, yes I'm donating. And I will link the story later for anyone who wants to read or vote or whatever.

Happy birthday to my sweet little boy. I can't believe it's been a year already!!! (He celebrated by getting up suuuuuper early today. Ouch.)

I bought a treadmill, you guys! Last week, I found out my employer would reimburse me for a large portion of the cost, so why the heck not?Not sure it will make me look any less big and frumpy, but at least I will be healthier underneath, right? Yay.

I hate when Max acts like I'm trying to kill him when I try to get him to go to bed. It doesn't happen often, but it's supafuntimes when it does.

I love Amazon Prime (so much that I paid for it after my free Prime benefits from Amazon Mom ran out). Free 2-day shipping is great and it's awesome that I can borrow Kindle books for free. But really? ONE book per month is the borrowing limit? What the hell is that?!

I was browsing (aka stalking) the FB friends list of one of my longtime friends earlier this morning. I saw pictures of people I knew and partied with when I was in college. Most of them had babies or little kids in their profile pictures. Funny how we all started out so crazy and ended up so, um, normal.

I woke up this morning and thought it was Saturday for the first hour. It is NOT Saturday. WTF, life?

I'm not really complaining about this, because sleeping through the night is AMAZING and I hope it keeps happening... but the "downside" is that now my son gets up even earlier. Today, it was 5:20 am. Thank goodness Mike has morning duty during the week.

It was a day of firsts (or "frists", for the 2 people on my list who will get the joke) for me today! First pot roast, first jury duty summons...I was at the courthouse all day but didn't get picked for a trial. Kinda disappointed, actually. Oh well. At least the pot roast turned out good.
