    Scherezade

Mmm, this one is gorgeous. At first it's strong and brazen--not in your face, but it has a commanding presence. I'm not usually fond of strong perfumes, but this is different. After just a few minutes it mellows out, becoming more soft and sultry. It's spicy and feminine, but not exactly sweet. If it makes sense, it's an ancient kind of sexy. To me it brings to mind the women who lived during the time of the Trojan War. I can picture a bottle of this on a cosmetic stand alongside kohl and lip stain. As much as I love it, some people I've asked opinions of do not. Apparently it smells strongly of patchouli. I'm still debating getting a bottle--if it passes the boyfriend test, I'll go for it! At any rate, I'm keeping my imp.

    Persephone

In bottle: Tangy, fruity smell, in other words, all pomegranate. I couldn't make out the rose. On skin: There's a nice balance between the pomegranate and rose, but on me, the rose isn't quite enough to temper the pomegranate. It smells tangy and not sweet enough. After a few minutes I can smell honey, and it brings to mind goblets of wine, honeyed figs, and all the beauty of the myth. The first hour or so it smells wonderful. It's a lovely scent, but it doesn't work exactly right on me--maybe I'm just not comfortable with fruitier scents, or my skin doesn't tolerate it well. It gets kind of sour. If fruit is your kind of thing, I highly recommend this one. I wish this worked for me--it's absolutely beautiful! I'm keeping the imp, even if I can't wear it.

    Lyonesse

In the bottle: Almost overwhelmingly sweet, vanilla icing on a cupcake. On skin: It mellows out to a sort of burnt vanilla smell--still reminiscent of baked goods, but very pleasant and sensual. I had a hard time making up my mind on this one. Although I love vanilla, it's not exactly my kind of scent. It's a little bolder than I would like, I guess, but every time I wore it I couldn't stop sniffing my wrists! Not buying a bottle yet, but I'm keeping my imp.

    Tiger Lily

In the bottle, it smells heavenly: Sweet lily, and some of the hard to describe sharp, intimate, spicy smell found in O. On my skin, though, it went straight to a baby wipe smell. I think I would have loved it if it had worked with my skin! Oh well.

    Oberon

Oberon was one of the freebie imps I recieved, and it deserves its full credit for making me fall in love with BPAL, even after the initial lust. I had no idea what notes I preferred or what worked on my skin, and even some of the perfumes that most people gush about weren't working on me. Then Oberon saved the day! In bottle: Sweet, flowery, and feminine. Even without knowing the notes, I knew that this was something delicious. On skin, wet: Much like it was in the bottle. A little stronger than I'm used to, but very girly. On skin, dry: Still very sweet and feminine, with a hint of something spicy and ethereal. Oberon brings to mind midnight woods and moonlit flowers. It's not overpowering or in your face, but it's definitely there. It does fade after a few hours, becoming more of a pleasant citrus powdery smell, but it's worth reapplying. It brightens my mood every time I apply it! I asked a lot of opinions on my first two batches of imps, and Oberon was one of the only ones that got a thumbs up from a variety of people. As for me, it's my first BPAL love.
