    Noche Buena

In the bottle: Herbal-floral, slightly sweet - definitely sage coming through. Wet: Quite light. There's something in here that reminds me of Snow White, and it's the same thing I don't like. Sort of a green astringent wintry smell. The sweet note is definitely the plumeria. Dry: Sage, plumeria, now the LILY - yay, and still that astringent note. Other florals too, including a lovely spicy not reminiscent of carnation - I think chrysanthemum. I'm still not getting any incense. The tuberose has gone a bit soapy on me, but it's not terrible as it can be. Summary: Complex herbal-floral. It's amazing how this oil morphs, revealing its constituents over time! Not something I'd wear, though.

    Vampire Tears

In the bottle: Buttery lemon cake! Wet: Buttery lemon cake and coca cola. Super foody! Maybe the buttery-cake thing is tonka? Definitely getting all the citrus and honeysuckle, and maybe a hint of the ginger. I want to EAT my arm! No florals. Dry: Some light white florals coming out, very barely though...it's still much the same as wet. The buttery-cake is a bit milder. This is sparkling - it just is. Strange! Summary: Good throw and lasting power. Delicious and wonderfully blended, but I'm not into foody scents.

    Cancer 2007

In the bottle: Fresh, light, citrusy-sweet aquatic. Wet: Sweeter, more floral, still quite light and citrusy. Chamomile and sweet pea are dominant. Dry: It's becoming more planty, a little soapy, and the orris has emerged, but very faintly - bearably, in my case. It's now smelling salty - beachy! Wow! Very appropriate. And a bit like suntan lotion, too. Summary: A very soothing, gentle planty-aquatic. Nice, but not quite me despite my Cancer rising.

    Archangel Winter

In the bottle: Flowers, ozone, and soap. Wow, that ozone makes my nose tingle. Wet: Ozone and soap, and something herbal. Masculine-cologney. Dry: Musk (crystalline, my favourite!) coming out, and the soap has dissipated leaving only clean freshness. This would be lovely on a man, I think. It's actually fairly nice on me, but it's not feminine enough for my tastes. Summary: Icy, airy, clean, delicious, masculine musk. Great throw.

    The King of Hearts

In the bottle: Black cherry, lavender, musk. Wet: Lavender and rosewood dominate, especially the former. Barely any black cherry. Weak rose and musk. Dry: Fades very quickly. Lavender, rosewood, white musk. Rose if I really strain. Summary: The lavender settles, such that becomes a dry, slightly musky floral.

    Croquet

We have some trouble managing our flamingos, too. Pink lime, pink grapefruit, white nectarine, wild rose, sage, woody patchouli, bergamot, and ornery hedgehog musk. In the bottle: Sweet citrus - sort of marmalade-like, fresh greenness, almost minty, in the background. Wet: More floral, spicier, muskier. I like the patchouli in this, and I'm very particular about patchouli. It's a nice, soft woodsy patchouli - not incense-y. It's also much less sweet, though still quite fruity. This is actually very well balanced. No one note dominates; many complementary ones mingle instead. Dry/Summary: Woodsy-musky-floral with a nice fruity citrus that's slightly but not too sweet. Holds nicely! I love this! Got me a bottle, too.

    Tweedledee

In the bottle: Tea (it's almost creamy), pepper, citrus. Wet: The citrus is now distinctly kumquat, and the orange blossom (and maybe other florals?) has emerged. Still a bit peppery-spicy with something creamy lurking. It's fresh, floral, and a little foody all at once. Dry: Light, creamy, spicy citrusy floral! It's just very slightly feminine, at least on me, but it's almost neutral enough that I could imagine it on a man. Amazing throw. Summary: After a couple of hours, it's much sweeter. Spicy, creamy-vanilla fruit, with only hints of tartness and flowers It has great lasting power, but I'm not sure I like how sweet it becomes.

    The Dormouse

In the bottle: Floral soapy. But in a good clean way. Some fruit, somewhere. Tea, yes! Wet: The same. More floral, perhaps. I can see how people see this as green apple, although it's not registering as such on me. But it does have that juicy freshness to it. I think I could also bathe in anything containing tea. Dry: Peony and I get along, yes we do. The tea stays but the peony takes foreground. But it's not so heavily feminine-ly floral that it's purely feminine; I think a man could pull this off too, it's so fresh and clean. Summary: Clean, peony-scented, piney-herbal tea. A softer, less mossy, more floral and feminine version of The Apothecary. It also recalls Kumiho, but is a bit less biting, and more floral. Light, cool, and refreshing. Good throw and decent lasting power. Getting a bottle of this one! It's my ultimate tea scent.

    Two, Five & Seven

In the bottle: Fruity roses. Wet: The same. The roses are well rounded, if that makes any sense - it smells to me like there are multiple varieties. The fruit is fading. Dry: The sweetness has gone, leaving behind dried, incense-touched roses. Summary: I really thought I would like this, because I love rose and the rose scent, once the sweetness dissipated a bit, was truly lovely. But it became a much less fresh scent over time, and I don't like incense-y notes on me.

    The Mock Turtle's Lessons

In the bottle: Yummy fresh green fruit with hints of floral. Lime, green apple, vodka, mint. Wet: Fruit and mint reigning. The vodka is fresh but not boozy. Really nice and invigorating, but not in a sharp way. Definitely aquatic. Gorgeous. Dry: Dries fast. Ambrette coming out, giving this some dry warmth. The iris too, and I don't really like iris, but it's mild. The fruit has almost completely gone - both apple and lime. The mint, without the fruit, is smelling a bit cleaner-ish. Summary: Morphs and fades INCREDIBLY rapidly. My skin devours this, and I'm left with very faint minty toilet cleaner. Such a sad devolution.

    Tweedledum

In the bottle: Fruit and patchouli. The mango really *is* green and I can totally detect the fig. Wet: Patchouli, then green mango in dominance. Green tea and fig present, but less so. Something citrusy fresh - maybe the green mango, but could be something else... Dry: The patchouli is settling into the light, spicy-sexy kind that works on my skin (not the dirty-hippy type). The fig isn't becoming cloying or heady as it often does, and the green tea is growing. The fresh green mango has faded a bit. Summary: Light patchouli, exotic fruits which are neither too sweet nor too tart, and green tea. Yum.

    The Unicorn

In the bottle: Fresh, herbal, white floral. Wet: Very floral, less herbal. I can smell the linden quite strongly. Faintly sweet, but not too much thankfully. I could do with a dash of something sharp (ginger, citrus) and something lightly woody, but otherwise, yum. Very classic and feminine. Dry: The floral just keeps on amping! The sweetness is fading further, which I like, but some of the linden is going with it. :\ Amazingly strong throw. Summary: I really like this (I'd *love* it if the linden stuck around), but I think it may have given me a headache. I'll retry, but I doubt it will be a bottle buy.

    Cheshire Cat

In the bottle: Fresh and herbal; a little astringent and citrusy. Wet: Lavender and chamomile reigning, with some white grapefruit behind. Not getting any red currant or musk. There is a sort of sweetish floral note, possibly the delphinium? It's sort of wild-flower like and pleasant. Dry: Faint; mostly grapefruit, with a bit of chamomile and some musk now. The red currant has emerged, providing some juicy fruity depth. Summary: A slatherer for sure - very low throw, and doesn't last too long. But I like the interplay of citrus, herbal, and floral notes over the juicy currant and sexy musk that come out in the end.

    Alice

In the bottle: Spicy citrus and honey; a little creamy. Wet: Less spicy. Maybe a wee bit of rose, but it's very faint. Overall, very low throw. Dry: The rose has come out more, but it's not the sort of rose I like. It's sort of soapy-incensey, or maybe it's combined with another floral. In any case the floral notes are now overwhelming, and this has much stronger throw. The carnation and honey are still there, but sadly overshadowed. The bergamot has gone sort of astringent - not the lovely fresh citrus of in the bottle. Summary: Powdery rose, with hints of honey and bergamot. Alas!

    Mad Hatter

In the bottle: Pennyroyal, lavender, citron. Wet: God, this is intense! The pennyroyal is VERY strong. It's a little sweet, and very minty-herbal. I can barely detect the lavender and citron in its wake. Dry: The pennyroyal is still a bully, but if I strain I can sniff a bit of delicious, rich musk. Summary: Minty pennyroyal over sweet, dark musk. It calms down a lot, but it's still very potent in throw and heavy on the pennyroyal.

    Night Thoughts

In the bottle: Sharp, green woods and herbs. Fresh, masculine, planty. Cedar! Wet: Softer, more floral. A little soapy (sigh, neroli). The lilac emerges quickly. The nose-tingling ozone is there, but light. A bunch of herbs that smell 'lunar' but I can't individually distinguish. Dry: The cedar makes this quite dry, but the neroli and ozone give this a cleanness. The lilac is a simultaneously fresh and heady, further complicating this blend, but in a way that I feel works. Summary: Cedar then lilac, with hints of musk, ozone, and neroli. The cedar definitely dominates, but without bullying. Unisex to masculine; great throw and lasting power. I find it very soothing.

    The Spell of Amorous Love

In the bottle: Tart fruit, green tea, soapy blossoms. Wet: In order, I detect red currant, sake and green tea, plum blossom, and dainty cherry blossom - not soapy anymore. The sake and tart currant give this a brisk scent, but it lies very close to the skin - it's a subtle oil. Dry: The smooth, herbal green tea, fresh sake, and almost citrusy currant keep the juicy fruit and flowers from being too sweet. Buds and blossoms, this scent holds the promise of full sweetness to come but remains clean and light. Summary: This stays true (currant-tea-sake-floral) on my skin to the end, with a bit of muskiness coming out. While the throw is sadly very low, this oil lasts all day on me, so slathering makes it worthwhile. Damn, another one I must buy in bottle.

    Earth Rat

In the bottle: Melon, peony, plum blossom, kumquat, citrus. Tart and fruity and floral - yum! Wet: Tarter, less melony. A hint of pine and coconut. The florals are delicate. Dries rapidly. Dry: Sweeter, all of sudden. Very very fruity, but in a tropical exotic way that is delicious; melon, juicy citrus, a touch of lychee and warm, summery coconut. Yes, a bit foody, but I find myself liking it because there is still that tart edge of kumquat and quince, the wee sharpness of pine, and feminine wafts of flowers. So many layers! Summary: Tart citrus, whispy flowers, delicious melon and tropical fruits, with some earthy resin and patchouli that emerge after a few hours. Great throw, good lasting power. Masterfully blended! Do I want one bottle or 2? Eek!

    Victoria

In the bottle: Slightly soapy rose and lily. Wet: Still clean, but not soapy. Very light. Rose and lily still present, along with a mild, yummy sweet scent - maybe the vanilla musk? I just slathered more on and I can still barely smell it, though it's not weak in the bottle. Dry: Strengthening as it dries - very odd! The rose is definitely amping. It's not the freshest rose I've smelled, but it's not incense-y, which is really the only type of rose I can't handle. Summary: The mingling of the rose and lily with the sweet, delicate musk is lovely, clean and feminine. Bottle buy, even though this is a slatherer. Low throw, but average lasting power.

    Lady Una

In the bottle: Sweet, sweet true vanilla with hints of spice and something green. Wet: Honeyed blackberries (I know it says leaf but I smell FRUIT) layered with vanilla and musk. Still the lingering spice - it's light though. The blackberry and musk combo is simply amazing, but I find the heavy sweetness and vanilla a bit too much and far too foody. No more green. Dry: Musky, sweet and heady vanilla. A wee bit of honey and blackberries and spice remain, but barely. Alas, this is not for me. Vanilla, why must you amp on me so? Summary: I had to wash this this off; the vanilla was just so overwhelmingly sweet and cloying, and once again ruined a scent for me.

    Fairy Wine

In the bottle: Sweet, tart, a little spicy and floral. The red currant is quite apparent, as is grape. Wet: Very similar; perhaps less sweet, and a touch herbal. Fairly weak and faint. Still, it reminds me a good deal of the Fruit of Paradise, which I love. Dry: The dandelion is distinguishable and delicious. The honey is sort of a soothing backdrop. Summary: After a few hours, it's dandelion and musk, with hints of honey and red currant. Overall, I love this. Very low throw, and it does fade at a fairly fast rate. *sigh* Bought a bottle!

    Lover's Parodies of Sumo Holds

In the bottle: Tangerine and green plants. Something warm. Wet: Similar, but the tonka has emerged so that this is slightly creamy, and sweeter. Still that grounded warmth, but it's a foundation not in the foreground. Dry: A warm, soothing tangerine creamsicle - but not very sweet and not foody. The resins in this are very light but grounding. The ti leaf, tangerine, and tonka dominate. I'm not getting much floral. Summary: The pikaki and jasmine have emerged, but ever so faintly. This remains a warm, creamy tangerine scent with herbal, resin and exotic floral undertones. Low throw and moderate lasting power.

Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal

In the bottle: Buttery, citrusy cake with a hint of pink pepper and ginger. Wet: Still extremely foody, but straight cream, vanilla, and cake now - no butter. The pepper and ginger are amped. The grapefruit and lemon are distinct but in the background. I'm not getting any pear or lily. Dry: This reminds me of a foody version of Tweedledee. The citrus has disappeared. Maybe a hint of lily has come out. Cakiness has softened to more of creamy vanilla. Spices are even stronger! Summary: Sweet, spicy ginger and pink pepper over vanilla cream. A little foody and a little floral. Too spicy and creamy for my tastes.

    Pisces 2008

I really didn't think this would work on me based on the notes, and I was sadly right. I wish this had been a more aquatic blend! *sigh* /whines sun-venus-mercury pisces In the bottle: Sweet, planty, green-fresh. Hints of sarsaparilla. Wet: Same; sarsaparilla amped. Dry: Faint, root beer and green plants. Even fainter powdery florals. Summary: Sweet powdery-planty floral.

    Cheshire Moon

In the bottle: Buttery (?!?), sweet fruity-citrus floral. Lemongrass, grapefruit. The buttery/cakey note totally reminds me of Vampire Tears. Wet: Much plantier and sharper. Very fresh and green. A little floral. Butter gone, as is most of the sweetness. Dry: Lightly citrusy, planty-herbal floral; the cherry blossom has asserted itself but is not overwhelming. Very LUNAR...reminds me of several other lunar blends. There is definitely a culinary herb in here - could be sage as someone suggested. Summary: Cherry blossom over lunar herbs and exotic fruits. Airy, delicate, and feminine. Low throw and lasting power. I'm not really a fan of cherry blossom which is the overwhelming drydown note on me, but I like the lunar/herbal notes alot. There is a stage where some citrus and fruit remain and that stage is very nice. I'll hang onto my imp for now. ETA: Retested, and I like the other notes enough and cherry blossom has grown on me. Getting a bottle of this!
