    Butter Rum Cookie

I am not much of a rum person and definitely not a butter fan. But this scent so perfectly captures the essence of butter rum cookies, fresh from the oven. It stays true and does not stray not one iota. Not bad for those who love boozy Christmas cookies.

    Perchta

In the imp, this is mostly musky floral. It's definitely cold. Wet, a pine note leaps forward. After it dries, the pine takes one step back while the musk and florals dance together. The end result is breathtakingly cold and beautiful.

    Rose Red

Rose Red 2008 model is a lovely fresh dewy winter rose. Not the swoon-worthy sweet rose of Queen's Croquet Ground, but more of a fragrant dusky rose scent. Unfortunately, it has vamoosed within 30 minutes. If it is still here, I can not smell it at all. And that is such a shame.

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

CCCXXIII (323) Again Aerinha reviewed it before me and again I got something different. While I do agree with the green pulpiness of the scent, I picked up something foody as well. It turned spicy after it dried. 12 hours later, it is still potent... but what I can smell now is something sharp and strident (what I've always referred to in other colognes as bug spray). I do NOT like it.

Lines Written Among the Euganean Hills

I did not think I would like this because it was nothing but cedar when I first put it on. However, once it dried down, the dreaded hamster cage smell abated, the musk, amber and sandalwood took over and turned it into a warm and sultry scent. Disaster averted.

    Midnight Mass

What an evocative scent. Just the tiniest dab on the wrists takes me back to St. Louis Cathedral and the early '70's midnight mass I attended with a friend. Do I detect sandalwood? Someone mentioned cedar and I think I pick up a tiny bit of that as well. Normally, cedar and I are not friends (HAMSTER CAGE!!) but it's not obnoxious in this blend. This is beautiful.

    Y'ha-nthlei

I have to agree with the reviews mentioning this being clean smelling. It is bright and fresh, like taking a big whiff of sea air in the morning. Very pretty.

    Hanerot Halalu

Another sniffie with a tiny bit in the vial... And oh my, how lovely. Beeswax and HONEY. I smell HONEY. And like Winnie the Pooh, I don't mind if I do. Very nice.

    Al-Shairan

There was just a tiny bit of oil left in this gifted sniffie. I get mainly clove and patchouli incense. It didn't last too long though and I am not sure if this is because of my chemistry or because there was not enough to use. I do like what I got to sniff.

    Ghûlheim

Thankfully I do not get the smoke that others have mentioned. This scent is primarily a spicy musk on me. Dark, rich and cozy. It is nice and will be relegated to the "winter" blends.

    Sudha Segara

Sudha Segara is lovely. I just wish it lasted a bit longer. It is honey and ginger sweet creamy soft goodness. And then it is gone.

Chaos Theory IV: Edge of Chaos

CCCLXIX: Aerinha reviewed this scent (we were in the same decant circle). My impression of 369 is nothing like hers. I smell coconut and sweet floral with a slight tinge of mint. This blend is absolutely fabulous.

    Eau de Ghoul

OK, I am nuts. When Eau de Ghoul first touched my skin, I smelled cola with lime. It is dry now and I still get the lime but I can smell the clove (which is probably what I thought was cola). It is a very interesting scent. I like it.

    O

I originally got a sniffie of O in a swap and fell in love. My beloved amber lingered in there, as well as lovely honey and vanilla. My ultra-wonderful winter Switch Witch gifted me with a full imp so I finally got to try it for real. What I discovered is that O is deliciously heavy and sticky-sweet smelling. It is definitely a winter scent and a little goes a long long way.

    The Owens' Tomb

Whoa- this IS dust and marble in the imp. I thought I was going to hate it. WRONG. On my skin, the flowers pop and the fragrance turns sweet. How wonderful!!

    Slippery Poppy Tincture

I got a sniffie of this from another forumite. It is lovely. At first I get a whiff of peppery spice and when it dries down, it becomes both sweet and tart. There is greenery in the background too. The overall effect is balanced and just gorgeous.

    The Convocation

I really didn't find this to be too masculine at all. I would have no problems wearing it myself. On application, it is incredibly spicy and warm. On drydown, I get musk, lovely but feral musk. I would consider this a winter fragrance. LOVE.

    The Potter's Field

All righty. Were I to pick a huge bouquet and then turn it upside down and sniff, that green smell would be The Potter's Field. It doesn't change over time either, although later on I am aware that someone dumped a bag of grass clippings on the bouquet. I can see wearing this on occasion when I want a hint of spring. Otherwise, no.

    The Macabray

Gorgeous! Sniffing this reminded me of taking a deep breath of winter air... but while holding a bouquet of flowers close to my face. It is harsh and delicate all at once. Icy and floral. Gorgeous. (just wish it would last a bit longer)

    The Lady On The Grey

I should have known I'd like this. Amber loves me and I love it right back. The resins and sandalwood settle in after drydown. It's warm and inviting. I like it.

    Miss Lupescu

This is so pretty! I get musk and amber mostly (and amber is one of my favorite notes). I am not picking up the almond but I do think I detect a bit of sandalwood. The scent has the potential to be overpowering, though, so I don't think this is a slathering fragrance. Definitely a dabber.

    Snow, Glass, Apples

In the Bottle and Wet: Crisp, icy cold tart apple and mint. The mint is an afterthought but it is definitely there. Dry: The tartness of the apple softens a bit but does not fade. The mint becomes a bit more prominent. Absolute beauty.

    Tushnamatay

This is such a calming and soft blend. It is floral but there is something else there that is centered. Sandalwood? Vanilla? I can't tell (and wouldn't know anyway) But I do know that Tushnamatay is a favorite.

    Laudanum

What an amazing scent. In the imp and wet on application, Laudanum is bitter and medicinal. As it dries, I first smell wood and then the sassafras. It is a little sweeter but still has a serious in-your-face aroma. I like it, although I don't see it as a frequent scent. It'll be something to save for occasional use.

    Lurid

I am swooning over Lurid. I have never sniffed anything so darkly and powerfully sexy in my entire life. I think I am amping the musk and resin because this fragrance is indeed fierce. I am going to hug my Winter Switch Witch in two for sending me yet another blend that is now a favorite.
