A very dark, fizzy plum! This plum is gorgeous. At first I thought it was going to be too candy-like for me, it really opened with a ginger ale note but on the skin the plum totally takes over and steals the show. Amusingly, I get zero licorice at all! Just a bit of the leather in the background.

So layered and complex I'm having a hard time describing the feeling it gives me! Every time I lean in, I sniff something new. This is one of those amazing scents that takes you on a journey, and each note is there and bringing something to the table. Overall, intense (especially with that blood note!) but woozy. There's a sort of sophistication to it, but also its a bit drunken. The bay rum and magnolia play beautifully together, as well as the osmanthus dancing over those dark vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli notes. Beautiful, a bit sexy, a bit frightening, a bit angry. It makes me feel like a ghost wandering around the streets of new orleans. Very, very Louis.

Butterscotch Bitch
wolf_truffles replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat
The butterscotch hits hard right away and then completely disappears! Turns out to be a very boozy woodsmoke scent with the saffron being surprisingly strong. I wouldn't wear it for the butterscotch, there's really not much sweetness to it at all, but this scent has a really fun vibe. Dark, chewy (?), and flirty -
Sweet and perfumey sage and moss. But there's also something a bit sticky under it all, maybe that's the leather? This has a really strong throw! Dorian loud to me- they could be friends.

It opens very softly, sort of clean and a little sweet and then quite literally blooms in minutes into a very gorgeous clove and incense scent, but with a subtle cool, clean cologne element that lifts it out of being resinous. I never really sniffed something like this before- its super fascinating! I tend to love incense notes for sleep and to have one so clean and soft smelling at the same time is exciting. Can't wait to try it for bed!

If you've ever eaten those expensive sticky licorice chews and said to yourself, "wow, I MUST smell like this..."- this is for you! Unfortunately I am absolutely one of those people and licorice is a guilty pleasure, so I very secretly adore this. It's really just strong, sticky licorice. For a few months there was a slight powdery element, but that's disappeared! (I have also mixed it with chocolate and patchouli...recommend...)

Turned out to be one of my favorites ever! Milky sweetness, sticky caramel deliciousness with a bit of creamy fluffy coconut. Must remember to get another bottle before it disappears

An Introduction to Illustrious Kabuki Actors
wolf_truffles replied to Seajewel's topic in Lupercalia
I was too curious about fig froth to pass this up, and it didnt disappoint. Fig froth is the fruity star! The other notes wrap it in a sweet, mellow blanket. The fig is very fresh as opposed to dried, and the other notes stop it from being "juicy".- 9 replies

Sweet and nutty! I'm getting a lot of the marzipan and pistachio. There is a creaminess to it, and a slight clove "buzz".

Incredible in the bottle... the lab marshmallow note is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the chocolate turns to plastic the moment it hits my skin, although the marshmallow doesn't change. I'm going to try to layer it and see what happens.

Imagine: you start a little pot on the stove, making hot chocolate. You heat up the milk, but realize as you stir in the packet of chocolate dust that you added entirely too much milk! Possibly double the recommended amount. It turns a light caramel color, and wafts sweet, milky excellence up into your waiting face. Unfortunately, lost in your milky fantasies, the bottom of the your favorite pot starts to burn, scorching the contents. In a hurry, you pour it into your waiting cup, take a sip, and are surprisingly unbothered by the mishaps that occurred. You realize this might be the best cup of hot chocolate you've ever had... Okay, so that... in scent form. Do I love this? Yes, yes I really do.

Cacao, Sweet Patchouli, Clove, and Green Cardamom
wolf_truffles replied to Seajewel's topic in Lupercalia
Dirty, green patchouli paired with dry clove is not a mix I thought I needed, but it is so good... not a lot of cacao or cardamom, it's reading as a sexy medley of clove patch.- 4 replies

The vanilla sugar and buttercream really read as 2011 boo! to my nose!! This is not floral to me- but the gardenia is fresh and light and mimics boo!'s linen note. It's literally boo! with a bit of delicate white sandalwood.

Tart, thick strawberry jam! Strawberry note is much stronger than the buttercream and pastry notes, both of which I barely smell at all (that happens to me with nearly every suf I buy). Leans more "artificial" than fresh strawberry, with something in it making it very gooey. I've never had the og strawberry suf, but I have had the raspberry suf and it's very similar in that the throw is CRAZY. I love it!

Caramelized Pecan Rum Cake

Strong alcohol/rum in this! But the caramelized pecan is delicious. Very true to description! -
Blueberry Banana Cream Pie
wolf_truffles replied to Silvertree's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
Banana cream pie but the blueberries make it a little tart and fruity. Realistic! Like with banana pancakes, the banana doesn't last super long, leaving a blueberry pie to settle instead. Love it!- 9 replies

Chocolate, Cinnamon Bark, and Chipotle Honey
wolf_truffles replied to Silvertree's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
I'm so fascinated with spicy scents, especially after I found my fav scent caramel/smoked chilis/black vanilla. This is very different, cinnamon bark in this is masculine and dry. The honey is dark and gooey, closer to treacle, and definitely spicy!! It does something to my nose that I can't describe (not helpful I know). Chocolate blends everything together, but it's not a gourmand chocolate. Maybe a dark chocolate?- 7 replies

It's bananas foster! In a bottle! The banana is so strong at first, but then mellows into a nutty (spicy??) banana dessert with plenty of ice cream. Not getting any maple syrup.
-
I'm actually getting more lavender than the other folks here. Candy sweet sugar plum with a strong lavender! They work well together, but barely. It's not poofy and I'm not getting any marshmallow.

The coconut and hazelnut have morphed into a snowy hazelnut, which is the strongest note. The cocoa is very powdery. Actually this whole scent is! But not "powder" as in baby powder, but literally if you open a tin of powdered hot chocolate. Then imagine adding a sort of white powdered hazelnut to it. That's the scent!

Snake milk's sister! A sweet snake oil pastry, but no "bready" notes. I get a slightly milky dessert with powdered sugar.

I have awful luck with popcorn notes but I wanted an imp of this just to see. This popcorn stays actual popcorn for nearly an hour before turning into the plastic I'm used to! I think the cotton candy and soda helped it last, and it's very delicious and realistic. Not getting anything specifically caramel. The popcorn hour might be delicious enough to upgrade to a bottle!

A blast of chocolate and rose which is INCREDIBLE but lasts maybe 5 minutes total until this scent becomes solely a pink rose-colored sandalwood. Low throw, but nice if you are a fan of a delicate sandalwood

Mine is amping the sweet and not as patchouli forward as the first comments, but I bought from after it restocked! A light, sweet patchouli absolutely drowning in ice cream and squirts of honeysuckle nectar. I'm not a floral person at all but thought maybe with patchouli and gourmand notes that usually love me I'd be safe- I was right! More than safe, it's a scent I want to keep going back to my arm to sniff. I do have to say it's strong and loud and slightly perfumey but the ice cream helps it not go into headache floral territory. Not getting much of the other notes, and it seems I'm the only one getting such strong ice cream. No complaints! Ice cream patchouli is something I'd love more of..

Caramel apple is front and center mixed beautifully with espresso. Coffee is strong at first on the skin but the apple quickly takes over. It really does smell like a certain drink at a certain store (s-bucks), although not as spiced as I assumed it would be. Wouldn't have minded a little more creaminess to settle the apple but this is a scent one could blend easily.
