  1. I love honey and don't mind rose, so I had to try this. This starts out like powdery rose perfume on me, which makes me a little sad...but like an hour in the honey and sugar start peeking through. Now it's like a lovely rose honey cotton candy. It's low on throw but that's fine - I'm wearing this absolutely for myself all day and straight to bed. This honey note is muskier than I was expecting, which is fine. Overall sweet but not too sweet with soft roses.

  2. I also LOVE Miskatonic Uni! I think your hubby and mom need to get their noses check, lol. So I can't tell if you want scents with all three of those scent notes or a combination of 2 of those or what, but I'll offer what I can based on what I've tried so far.

I'd say that Irish Coffee Buttercream is the sweeter cousin of Miskatonic U, minus the wood/paper notes. If you like something a little spicier, Spiced Rum Buttercream Coffee is nice, though I wish the coffee stuck around a little longer. I struggle with getting the coffee note to stay true on me (skin chemistry turns it into something suuuuuuper woody - i.e. I have the Black Coffee from Winter 2020 but it dries down to something that reminds me of balsa wood), but if it's coffee + booze, it's so good.

My favorite paperback scent is You Are Not Alone (if you don't mind lavender) since it's like the one book scent that doesn't run leathery in my opinion. Fair warning though if that interests you, it's a very sought after Lilith blend so it may cost a pretty penny if you're able to find someone willing to sell.

Polished wood... I haven't dabbled enough in this note, but I do enjoy Antikythera Mechanism and Baby's First Ballista. AM is a little harsh at first (I think thanks to the teakwood), and Ballista is the sweeter cousin to AM. Hopefully someone else may be able to offer more and better recommendations in this one.

  3. Sexy, boozy honey taffy - this and candy apple are my favorite two smut variations. I love a good honey note and this has it, and the muskiness just makes it fantastic. There is a subtle butter note in the dry down that reminds me of the taffy candy.

I hate that I didn't realize how much I love it until well after the collection has gone down (didn't quite get my attention when I first sniffed it a few months ago when it arrived) so I'm guessing that it's only going to get better with age.

  4. In bottle and wet, it's heavy on the vanilla cake batter with a hint of flan. On wear down through the day, it eases up on the vanilla cake and the custard peeks through every now and again. It eventually is a very vanilla custard, which I found unexpectedly cozy and comforting. Good throw and wear. Happy to have blind bought this!

  5. This started off heavy on the floral and amber right behind it on me, which was almost too much and veering into headache territory. It's like a floral blast, but once that dries down, it's so much more tolerable (and likeable). About an hour in the cream starts to come through, and it's just a soft almond for me. I do love the sweet musk once everything settled down. I wonder how this was when it first was made, because I'm reviewing it after it's aged for some time. I like it and am glad to have a bottle.

  6. This is so weird and strange to me, but I love it. It comes off really fruity at first (makes me think of crisp apples) and mellows out on dry down. I thought ozone would be a little more aquatic but I'm not getting that at all here. Lurid is much nicer than what the description leads you to believe. The lavender is there but this reads mostly black currant on me. Does lean a smidge soapy after a while, close to headache inducing territory which makes me sad and think this has good enough throw, lol. I don't think I would have picked this out on my own, so I'm thankful for a friendly gift from a forumite :)

  7. This is just delicious in the bottle and when wet: boozy maraschino cherries. I don't get the almond note though, or at least I never noticed it when I wore this out. As it dries down, the champagne becomes the star but it's not as fizzy as I had hoped (my gods do I love it in Bon Vivant). It's really pretty overall. I only wish there was a better balance between the two scent notes.

  8. I got a slink of this on a whim because I was curious about the fruits in this one, and I'm really loving it! It's a lot of grapefruit and the pink fruits in the bottle and when wet, the coconut in the background. It dries down to be a tropical earthy scent on me with good throw and wear time. Wondering how this will age...

  9. I'm learning that honey has so many facets to it... Here it's light and has some additional sweetness from the wine note. The red roses are subtle. Overall, I wasn't sure that I was going to like it and I'm coming around to it after wearing it all day. It just doesn't last all day. I have to go sniffing for it after a few hours in, but it's still there.

March 2023 update because I had briefly forgot that I have it: This has aged beautifully but I don't know if it's a bottle that I can finish on my own. It's now sweeter than I remember when I first tested it, and now the roses and bordeaux are very intermingled. I feel like bougie bish wearing this, like I need hubby to take me out to a fancy wine bar.

  10. The reviews for this one had me a little concerned at first while I was waiting for my decant to arrive...but oh my where do I begin. It's a light sweet floral that somehow does feel breezy! I feel so much joy as the wildflowers don't go soapy on me, the honey is just right (not too sweet or floral), and the amber just brings it together, I think. It does wear closer to the skin, but can go farther when I slather it on. It lasts through most of my day, so I'm going to go ahead and grab a bottle while I can.

  11. This still one of my favorite TP blind buys when I didn't know what works and doesn't work on me, and thankfully this one stays pretty well on me. In bottle and wet, it's a delicious banana cream, some buttery pie crust. Maybe it's a little like banana candy, but it definitely reminds me of the box banana pudding mix. Dry and wear down was a little disappointing since the banana fades fast, so it becomes predominantly buttery pie crust on me. Hint of sweetness. The creaminess only lasts through half of my day, but I'm happy to have a bottle of this. Might just need a banana SN to layer it with.

  12. This is gorgeous and I'm just thrilled that the sugared roses stayed true instead of becoming soapy or powdery on me! Sweet and very feminine, this is such a lovely fresh rose. I'd agree with the previous reviews that this would be a pink rose. Good throw, lasts through most of a day for me. This will be a delightful addition to my collection!

  13. I never really bothered with this one because after some...times with bourbon shortly after I graduated college, the smell alone usually made my stomach churn. However I was generously gifted a large box of imps, and this was one of them. I am pleasantly surprised! I love this mint julep! The bourbon doesn't have that twinge that makes me sick, and the mint is SO refreshing, sugar isn't too sweet. It does wear down to be a little powdery, which usually isn't my thing but I'm really digging this. Not drink-like at this point but still nice.

  14. I blind bought three of these gingerbread monsters and this one is probably the most gingerbread one of the three...and looks like the most gingerbread of them all for this round. It's delicious but is more like vanilla and marshmallow over warm gingerbread with a buttery undertone. It's smooth, creamy, spicy, and the white sandalwood? I don't detect it but it might be what rounds out this scent. Compared to the other two I have, Wolfman and Zombie, this one doesn't wear down to something super woody despite having white sandalwood listed (maybe it's just my skin chemistry). It's unfortunate that this one has so little staying power (approx. 3 hours at best on me) because it's so good.

Update after retesting again in Sept 2023: what in the fuck, man. I get some spicy ginger but then there's something musty to it????? HOW. WHY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND. It still has that buttery opening from the bottle, and eventually dries down to that vanilla cream/marshmallow, but musty in between. I've never felt so betrayed.

  15. I had mixed feelings just reading the notes of this one because I was intrigued by the hedgehog musk and skeptical of the woody patchouli (my nose is rarely a fan of it).

This opens up as a very citrus forward blend, the nectarine hanging out in the back. Very bright, lovely. It then fades into a rosy sage blend, and becomes soapy on me. Very bergamot and rose soapy. I really like it during the wet stage more than anything, so I don't think this is a blend for me. Happy to have tried this but gonna rehome this imp.

  16. Again, not my typical scent but I'm on a "let's try all the frimps" mood. I'm pleasantly surprised by this one. In the imp I get a sharp tang (mandarin) with some heady florals and a hint of spice. Not convinced but I wore it anyway and it dries down to being deliciously dark and lush??? Yes! I do like dark and/or red musks, so this vibes about right for me. The mandarin is there but fades the quickest. I'm glad that I don't overly amp the spices. Downside is that only lasts a few hours at best.

  17. Good

In the imp and wet, this scent is fresh, light, unassuming, not too sweet. As it wears down, it's a musky clean scent that leans a hint floral (at least on my skin). I don't really pick up on the vanilla, but I feel like it's floating in there somewhere. Based on the notes, I don't think I would have sought this out but now that I've tested my frimp, I'm really curious to see how this layers with other scents! Since this also wears pretty close to skin, I'd definitely wear it on its own.

  18. Delirium is a good weird. Wet/in the imp, it reads lemony with slight effervescence to me. On weardown, it starts as a lemony rose that's a touch soapy (initially thought it was going to go powdery). I can't pick out the apple in the beginning, but it starts peeking through as I wear it. Based on the scent notes, I knew that I wasn't going to hate it but I wasn't exactly expecting it to become a little soapy (like a fancy soap). A little sweet, a little floral, definitely clean.

  19. This is the kind of cherry-based blend I've wanted, though this is a much darker take on whatever I've had envisioned. I definitely get the black cherry from the bottle with maybe a hint of the red fruits, the almond keeping it from being too bright. On skin, the liqueur comes out and I feel like I'm in a dark Victorian-esque house, touching strange wallpaper. I don't think I can actively detect the almond at this point, but maybe that's how it's playing into the wallpaper bit. It does feel a touch medicinal wet or in the bottle, but it's dried down to be sweeter. On me it doesn't veer into candy like sweet territory. Moody, broody cherry - this was a good blind buy.

  20. This is very peach forward in the imp and on me, and stays that way throughout the day. Sweet peach wine that's tempered by the the other notes. The myrtle starts to come out for me a few hours in. Overall it feels/smells balanced, not too boozy or powdery. Happy to have two frimps of this!

  21. This is decadently delicious sniffing from the bottle. Chocolate, coffee, caramel, but I don't really get the cheesecake whiff. Wearing it? That's when that chipotle comes out without being obnoxious! I want to love this so much but something in the dry down makes it become...bitter? burnt? It's not terrible but not great. I think it may be the coffee but I love smelling this from the bottle so there's that.

Late evening update: This actually morphed back into something delicious. I'm catching chocolate, caramel and a hint of coffee; and I'm delighted again. Definitely hanging onto this bottle.
