    Diving for Treasure

This one is a very beautiful atmospheric sort of scent, and it reminds me a lot of Upslope Fog from 2021 Yules, but where that was more of a misty sage-grey kind of vibe, this is more evocative of clear aqua water with bright overhead sun shining through it, with a bit of tropical foliage hanging out. for those who like color/aesthetic associations In the bottle and wet on skin, ocean air is very forward. And quite honestly, the first bpal aquatic I can think of that actually agrees with my skin chemistry for once. Historically, any kind of ocean/salt air/seafoam/etc note immediately goes dryer sheet on me in a most overpowering unpleasant way. This one toes that line of high-pitched dryer sheet for a few minutes, but never crosses, even with a slather. While wet and drying down, the principal notes seem to be the seafoam, pearl accord, immortelle, and balsam. I suspect those notes are truly what balance out the seafoam note so well for me in the opening. It's a fresh briny crash of a wave tempered with a slight mineralic hint, and a dewy tropical foliage note (immortelle?) with resinous piney balsam threading through. Quite well blended. When I huff deeply, there's almost a play-doh smell lurking, which is probably from the coconut. After it's dried down, it's a rather ethereal beachside scent. It's dewy, salty/briny, mineralic, a kiss of pine and green foliage, and the wild grass is beautiful, delicate, and sun warmed. Coconut and orris are anchoring this scent more than anything, and lend subtle sweet creaminess and very little past that. Very close to the skin, I barely notice it after a couple hours. I'll plan to test this alongside Upslope Fog to see how similar these two are.

From Whose Eyes As They Glance Flowed Love

On my skin, this is primarily a musky amber with orris. After it dries down some, I can smell the vanilla peeking out, but just barely. Very creamy (in a non-dairy way) vanilla. The blend overall trends sweet and musky. I don't get any rose at all. I had high hopes for this one but even after resting for several months, my skin just wants to amp up the skin musk and orris butter, and stomps everything else out, which is such a bummer! It is a very lovely scent, just not for me.

    The Cold Earth Slept Below

This is a sweet floral, and in the opening there is a distinct sweetness that's kind of like a really good hard candy that mingles with the florals. I'm guessing it could be from the white lemon peel/coconut? Upon first application and during drydown, this definitely shares a note (or a sister note) to a Dragon Age inspired perfume I bought years ago from someone off tumblr (the scent is Chanteuse by fanscents, for anyone wondering. They're not blending perfumes anymore, alas.) Notes in that one were "freesia, peach nectar, apricot, heliotrope, powdered violet, magnolia, light vanilla, bright musk, and creamy amber." I want to guess that part of the night-blooming flowers might have magnolia and/or violet, I suspect there is jasmine and orchid here as well, maaaaaybe moonflower too. I'm not as well versed in my florals, and I find this one to be harder to pick out the different notes. I want to compare this with the wisteria and honeysuckle duet from last year and see if there's wisteria lurking in the night florals as well. As it wears, the sweetness reminiscent of old fashioned hard candy burns off and it's mostly soft florals that don't go powdery on my skin, with orris detectable in the backdrop. I can just barely pick up the eucalyptus if I huff really deeply. Sweet soft floral with a touch of chilliness, glowing is an excellent descriptor! It's honestly such a beautiful blend and I'll be cherishing my bottle.

    Aoede, Melete, Mneme

This is a very rich, warm scent, leaning rather foody on me, but something in it keeps it from going full-on foody... the sandalwood, maybe? Wet, I smell rich sweet cream and vanilla and sugar, with a toasted quality that I think is the caramel, and something lingering in the background that my nose registers as some kind of warm spice. It vaguely reminds me of warm spiced cookies, but I can't quite place what exactly it's reminding me of. As it dries down, it turns into a warm, creamy, sweet vanilla-touched scent, with the custardy/bread pudding/shortbread vibe lingering somewhere. The sandalwood adds a lovely depth and melds well with the caramel. I'll have to come back later after I've worn it for a few hours and report back how it evolves! So far, it's rather lovely and I feel like I'm enveloped in a creamy warm cloud of sweet vanilla that also manages to be subtle and not overpowering. Edit: After some hours, it seems to be rather buttery and the sandalwood becomes more apparent, with a whiff of caramel; albeit all a bit faintly. Hard to say since I'm sure I sweated most of it off on my walk earlier 🥴 Not sure if I want to upgrade to a full bottle or not of this one yet, I'll have to test further. So far I think I will enjoy my decant!

    Hagoromo-No-Taki Hair Gloss

I blind bottled this scent and I'm so glad I did -- it is a very elegant, warm tropical scent. Creamy, lightly sweet, absolutely heavenly, and lingers for daaaayyyysssss. I wash my hair about once every five days or so, and usually apply to damp hair before I dry it. I can still catch faint whiffs of it days later when I go to wash my hair again, definitely lots of staying power! It definitely has a dirty vibe underneath the coconut and vanilla and sugar - you can tell it's a Shunga for sure. Also will likely get you laid 😂 I will cherish my bottle, and may snag a backup for my stash

    Couple Reading Erotic Scroll

I bought this scent after deliberating for days over which lupers to buy this year, and nearly passed over it until I read all of the scent descriptions again. I was very intrigued by the notes, and was especially happy to find a fruit-tea scent without honey, as the lab's honey note amps on my skin and is cloying to the point of making me sick, unfortunately. Plus, the couple of reviews at the time were enticing enough for me to toss it into my cart. I just got this in the mail yesterday and I'm so happy I sprung for the full bottle, it's so damn good. Lots of sweet sugared blackberries still warm from the sun with herbal tea and a hint of citrus; this is evocative of a lazy warm summer afternoon in a sheer dress, sitting in dappled sunlight sharing freshly picked berries with a lover *tested on inner wrists In the bottle: intensely sweet fruity blackberry, can catch a faint wisp of a sharp herbal citrus, which I'm guessing is the white tea and bergamot Wet: Super sugary-sweet blackberry. Like other reviewers have noted, it has a candy-like quality to it, on the verge of almost being plasticy/artificial Drydown: Still intense blackberry, but begins to shift into a more sun-ripened fruity scent that doesn't hang onto the plasticy candy smell. I can detect the barest hint of the bergamot and tea in the background Wear: The blackberry takes center stage for quite a while (about 2-3 hours on me) and the scent blooms wonderfully on me over the hours. A creaminess begins to emerge after about an hour lending a gentle softness, which I'm guessing are the rice notes, and the blackberry slowly calms down and mingles with the herbal tea and citrusy bergamot. Around 3 hours, I get a lovely creamy citrus tea scent with whiffs of blackberry, and a slight papery scent in the background. As the blackberry fades into the background (4-5 hours post-application), this becomes a lovely creamy scent that lingers close to the skin. I would say that the fruity blackberry stages of the scent is medium throw, slowly turning into a more low-throw scent as the fruitiness dissipates, but will have to have some friends confirm in the future. The scent lasts for several hours on me (8-10 ish?), with the later stages being a more skin-close creamy milky scent from the rice notes. This is definitely worth a bottle purchase for those who love fruity scents. Beth never ceases to amaze me with her creations! I definitely will treasure this bottle and can't wait to see how aging treats it.
